Thanks so much to Love Notes PR and the author for the ARC of this book. All thoughts are my own.

First off, I want to say congrats to Sasha J. Bree for the release of her debut. This was a fast-paced romance about Sophie and Mark and an international trip that brings them closer together amidst all the chaos that goes on, only to also rip them apart for months after. They go on a journey of finding love as both individuals and a couple.

I wanted to love this one so bad, and while there were parts I really liked, I was also confused quite a bit. This is a blend of contemporary romance, finding oneself, and even some crime mystery/suspense thrown in? It was a little all over the place, and I felt like as soon as I got settled in one element, we jumped to another. But there were moments too when I read lines like:

“The whole of Sophie felt like that first warm summer rain you’d been waiting for all week that was now here.”

And my heart got all warm and fuzzy. There’s so much potential in lines like this, and I loved seeing them.

I do feel like overall, however, there was a distance between myself and the characters that made it a little hard to connect with them, and I wished that we got to see them fall in love through more than just a physical connection, which is mostly what we see for the first half of the book while they are in Europe. I wanted to root for them but was not *quite* convinced yet. However, I do see so much potential here and would definitely check out more from the author in the future.

CW for sexual content, violence, threats, injury detail, abandonment.

The Week We Borrowed Love🇮🇹
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Sasha J.Bee for trusting me with this ARC.🌇
After Sophie loses her job she decides to fly to Milano,in order to find herself again. This much needed getaway turned to something magical when Mark D'Alessio shows up and ruins every other man for good.Yet,Sophie understands that men such as him, have their secrets and trust is an unknown word to them,so a summer fling it is! ... until it isn't

If you are going to Italy or just need the perfect summer book, this book is the PERFECT for you.

This story was one of the cutest ones that I read in the month of April.I loved that we saw a mum, who wanted to be a woman again, and thankfully our boy Mark showed up IN THE EXACT RIGHT MOMENT.As you understand the 🌶️ & the romance was at least S P E C T A C U L A R.
To continue with, she is shortie, making it perfect for a beach day, vacation or just to spend your evening with.Personally,I started it before practice, continued it on my breaks off the ice and by the time I was home he was over!🤏🏻
Continuing with the characters,we follow Sophie, who apart from being a strong ,confident and sexy as he*l,is also a single mum!I literally loved reading about her,and her story was really interesting to explore. However,my favorite part,is that we experienced her finding herself again, and be reminded how it is to actually L I V E.Although,to be honest Mark also played a role in that.
Mark is one of the love interests that is good only to her and for her. & yes girls, this is how we like them.PERIOD.

As you understand,The Week We Borrowed Love, is a cute romance to read in summertime, with a lot of Italy, love and flings that turn into your forever love.

P.S. J.Bee did an AMAZING job, sliding us into her next story with Natalie, because since the moment she introduced us,I was like GIRL I LIKE THIS ONE.I felt exactly how I feel when I watch a movie and someone is shown to us literally for 1 minute but the take is so magnificent that you actually remember them forever. So yes, expect me here for the next one too.✨

I really really wanted to love Sophie and Mark. The beginning of this story had so much promise!! Sophie was down on her luck. No job, raising her son alone and wondering what was next for her. She finally took a leap for herself and takes a trip to Italy to refresh herself before getting back to finding a new job.
Everything get derailed when she, literally, runs into Mark. Not only can you tell Mark came from money by his looks, but he acts like a male who grew up with everything. Despite the shakey start to the trip, pun intended, Mark and Sophie embark on a whirlwind romance. Promising each other a week before going back to their regular lives. But Sophie and Mark don't get a week. They get days before bad things happen. Sophie goes home and gets a start on real life early.
Here is where Mark was ick to me. He goes and has a ONS with a rando to get over Sophie. That bothered me since it was barely a day of her being gone and he already had to sleep with someone.
I felt the later half of the book was all over the place too. We get some OM drama with Sophie's baby daddy and then he is doing shady things and tries to get Sophie involved? Somehow Mark is the one who helps capture Sophie's baby daddy but then has even more OW drama when Mark has to pay his father back a debt?
It was all over the place and Mark and Sophie's romantic reunion felt rushed and not natural.

The story had all the possibilities to be great, but fell flat at the later half.

Let’s go back to the drawing board. The one star is for Giuseppe and his relationship with Sophie.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC of the book and spoilers ahead.

The book comes off more as a brainstorming session more than a finished product. I would have expanded more into Sophie and Mark’s whirlwind romance and brought up Sophie’s ex, Shawn, earlier. We don’t learn about Shawn until much later. He’s not a good guy and spoiler alert, the author randomly decides to throw in an illegal drug trafficking scheme by using art pieces as a cover that of course, Shawn is a part of. It seemed random because we didn’t know anything about him before we were told and that issue was resolved in a couple of chapters. I would have liked to see more backstory between Sophie and Shawn.

Also, one of the tropes is enemies to lovers, but I wouldn’t say that’s the case at all.

Some parts were inconsistent:
-Sophie gets fired from her job as an art gallery manager and says the closest one was in New York, which she couldn’t afford, yet she lives in New York? It turns out she lives a small town within New York State. I think the author could have cleared this up by saying the closest one was in New York City _____ miles/ hours away.
-Sophie says she’s going to wake up early to make Tim’s favorite crepes. She then proceeds to call them pancakes twice and this inconsistency is all on the same page.
-Sophie is BLONDE and the girl on the cover has brown hair

The Week We Borrowed Love pairs two people from very different worlds in what starts off as anything but a vacation romance. Sophie and Mark’s meeting feels organic and unplanned. Sophie attitude makes her character strong and watching Mark truly see her for who she is made for some genuinely sweet moments. The Milan setting was what I really enjoyed and the steps it took to get there and really elevated the first half of the book.

The secretary was a fun addition too she brought some lightness and personality to the story that I really enjoyed. More of her was always welcome!

The second half is where things lost a little steam for me. It felt like the story was trying to juggle too many threads at once, and some of it didn’t quite land. Without spoiling anything, I questioned whether a returning character was necessary their presence felt more disruptive than meaningful. I also wished Tim, as the single parent subplot, had been given more page time to really matter. And the art element was such a lovely touch I just wanted more of it woven throughout.

Overall, a fun and feel good read with a strong first half. A little tightening in the second act would have made this a five-star read for me

Overall, this book has really good bones. With a little tightening in the second act, it could easily be a five star read.

I was given an ARC of this. I am leaving an honest review.

This is a cute story made for a Hallmark adaptation. Everything was what it needed to be, and I could see the story unrolling in my mind as I read it.
However, I would have liked this to feel more like traveling abroad. Other than a few city names tossed out, I felt as though I could be in any city of any country anywhere. I have never been to Europe, but I expected more details to be given about the scenery and the places she wanted to travel, given that the FMC had been planning this trip as a lifelong dream. The book was more relationship-focused, the storyline, which is fine, but when you have the setting backdrop of Europe and specifically, Italy, it is a shame not to use it more.
I liked the art being the theme and, once again, would have loved a little more dive into the art world, such as a discussion of favorite pieces or methods, but...nothing.
The criminal element of this felt a little pushed, and I felt it didn't really need to be part of the plot for the relationship to still move forward.
However, I adored the side characters of the MMC's assistant and his cousin. I can't wait for their story in hopes it will retain the witty charm of the assistant while she puts a Playboy in his place.
A decent read if you like simple romance, made for t.v. style movies, but also nothing too deep.

# ARC Review

A lighthearted love story with an adventurous plot and a roller coaster of emotions, it is a fast-paced, fun read!

Sophie has burn-out from constant working; she worked as a manager of a gallery now jobless, a single mom, and a book girlie, which means her imagination has a field day when things go other way around

Mark is a billionaire with a steel front for everyone but a soft spot only for Sophie. He is gifted with good instincts, a honey-timbered voice, and looks that could kill; he never denied the spark he felt with Sophie. I loved each and every moment of their interaction.
they could communicate in presence of others with just exchange of their gazes

This story also gave off a suspense vibe, like the way every chapter ended—it was in the next chapter you'd learn the truth.
loved personalities of characters in the story, especially the most efficient secretary, Natalie.

I enjoyed it!

Thanks to the author and LoveNotes PR for the arc copy of this book.

This book started off strong. The first half had me engaged, I kept wanting to see what was going to happen next and what adventures the characters were going to do.

The second half of the book, lost me for a little bit. I did not expect the twist that happened, I will say. But things felt a little all over the place and rushed. The ending also felt a bit abrupt.

Sophie lost her job, and went on an adventure to find herself. I did enjoy reading about the things she had planned for herself while traveling in Italy.

Mark was a character of high importance and very rich- The relationship between Sophie and Mark throughout the book had its ups and downs, yet I was definitely rooting for them the whole time.

If you like a single mom trope, traveling some spice, and a twist you don't see coming, check this one out.

ARC Review

I was really excited to read this book because I am a big fan of the single parent trope. I was a bit disappointed with the way this book turned out. I had expected a little more.

I didn't really feel the chemistry between the characters. I thought that I would see Mark and Sophie communicate and talk about everything but I didn't see that. I didn't see them talk after finding out about everything. It feels like those moments were just skipped and we moved on to the next scene. I had also expected a little more interaction between Mark and Tim but there was very little of it. I had also expected some grovelling in the ending but I don't know if I can describe the ending as that.

I feel that this book has potential to be great but it is missing a few things. I am not trying to offend anyone. These are just the thoughts and feelings I had while reading the book.

First I want to thank LoveNotes & Sasha J. Bee for trusting me with this ARC. From the very first page, I was completely hooked—this book honestly felt like the perfect summer escape I didn’t know I needed. The Milan setting was dreamy, the vibes were immaculate, and I absolutely loved following Sophie on her journey of finding herself again. And MARK… he truly had my heart 😭 the way he sees her and shows up for her? Exactly the kind of love interest I will never get tired of. Their chemistry was everything and had me smiling like crazy at so many moments. It’s soft, romantic, a little bit emotional, and just so easy to get lost in. I finished it with the biggest smile—truly such a feel-good, summery read I’d recommend in a heartbeat.

Thank you to LoveNotesPR and Sasha J Bee for an ARC of The Week We Borrowed Love

This was a really cute, fun Summer romance with enough ridiculous scenarios and quirky characters to make it the perfect Rom Com

Recently unemployed, single mum Sophie decides to take a spontaneous trip to Milan to hopefully find herself and relearn who she is, and while on a very chaotic start to the journey and braving a storm, she encounters a handsome Italian who doesn’t seem like he belongs on this trip.

The series of (un)fortunate events that take place over The Week We Borrowed Love were highly entertaining and it was such a lighthearted story with a heartfelt ending

This is the perfect read for a summer afternoon or a holiday weekend!

I’m really appreciative for the opportunity given by Sasha J. Bee and Love Notes PR for receiving this ARC!

This book had a lot of potential, especially with its different tropes, but don’t get me wrong, it was entertaining, but even though the book was short, i got confused a lot. Like he is an art collector, yet it felt like he was from the mafia, some plots were confusing and things felt rushed. They’ve known each other for a few days and he already gets territorial, calling her his girl and everything, but dude i’m sorry? you just met the girl, leave her alone damn. And he lowkey ruined her trip, something that was FOR her.
Honestly, it would’ve been the perfect book for me if I was still a fourteen year old teenager on wattpad.

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Sasha J. Bee for the eARC of this book.

I loved this book! Pulled me in from page 1 and kept me loving it through the whole story! Sophie and Mark had AMAZING chemistry from their first interaction. I loved how they almost knew each other from the start and had delish banter. The story was so intricate and had an element of suspense along with the romance. I really like Sasha’s style of writing and her descriptions of people and places really allowed me to see the scene in my head. The ending was the HEA I needed and I hope we get a glimpse into Sophie and Mark in book 2 as we get into Natalie’s story. Great read, would recommend to fellow readers!

I’d like to thank Love Notes PR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

This book started out SO strong. I got lost in the magic and romance of the Italian vacation (and vacation boyfriend) and never wanted it to end. But then I felt like it got a bit erratic. I had some difficulty following different storylines and had to go back a few times, and it felt like some MAJOR happenings were just glossed over; then other storylines or details felt incomplete. I would’ve loved it if more of the book focused on the trip in more detail then came home to one or 2 of the dramatic storylines in depth. This really started out as a LOVE and sadly finished with a “it’s okay”.

This was such a fun summer read. Sophie, a single mum who has just lost her job, decides to take a long-awaited trip to Italy. She is independent, grounded, and trying to rediscover herself outside of being just “mum.” Her journey felt honest.

Mark is a wealthy gallery owner with a very different lifestyle. Their meeting in Milan felt natural, and I loved how protective and attentive he was without overshadowing Sophie’s strength.

The setting was another highlight. The Italian backdrop added charm and romance, and it gave the story that perfect vibe. I also enjoyed the side characters.

I loved the beginning of the story of Sophie losing her job and still deciding to go on this dream vacation before she needs to decide on her next career move but about midway through the story, I feel like it lost its luster. Just felt like it fell off and there were so many new plot lines introduced in the second half of the book that it felt like everything was rushed, and therefore kind of unnecessary

ARC- like others said the book started out strong but fizzled out shortly after the Sophie and Mark met. I really wanted to like this book but after they met I got lost in what the main plot was supposed to be. It almost felt like the author had started the book and then had put it down and came back with a different idea but the 2 plots didn’t match up. That and the ONS really upset me because how do you do that and then have the ending the way it was.

Sadly, this book is far from being ready to be published. This reads like an outline, one half of the book was one story, the second half of the bill was another. Little nothing meshed. There was no flow. The depth was surface level at best. There’s no real background or description in this story.
I think this would be an amazing story if it goes back for some serious editing and Alpha/Beta reading again.

ARC Reader: I enjoyed this book. It was a quick easy read. I liked the beginning of the book and how the Sophie and Mark met. I thought there could’ve been a little bit more development there, but it was entertaining. I wish that there was a bit more to the ending. I thought their spark kind of abruptly ended once they reunited in Europe. Hopefully we’ll learn a little bit more about that in the second book!

This was such a quick and engaging romance ✈️💕 Following Sophie and Mark on an international trip filled with chaos, tension, and growing feelings made the story so addictive. Their connection deepens while traveling together, but the aftermath pulls them apart for months, forcing them to grow both on their own and together. It’s really a journey about love, timing, and finding each other again 🥹

A series of rather dramatic and intense events leads to two very different people being thrown together in Italy. I’m talking about extreme weather, redundancy, scandals and more. It definitely didn’t feel like a realistic, relatable holiday romance. The Week We Borrowed Love is though perfect if you are looking for an escapism Summer read.

I liked the protagonist Sophie, especially as she is down to earth, independent and a super Mum. I was rooting for her to have a wonderful, carefree trip to Milan. In contrast Mark leads a very different lifestyle. But, I was still instantly drawn to him and the way he is protective and takes charge of situations.

Overall it’s a quick, short, enjoyable romance to escape into.

What a fun read solid 4⭐️
Sophie has recently lost her job at a gallery and decides to take a long awaited trip to Europe that she had previously planned. Although she worries about leaving her son Tim and family behind. She’s encouraged to go.

A few mishaps ensue and she meets Mark a wealthy gallery owner (which she doesn’t find out right away) they begin a little affair.
Story is fun and a fast paced read. Little humorous in parts as well. Side characters were good especially Natalie, Marks assistant. Enjoyed story line where Sophie begins to find herself as a woman again!
Would definitely read the next book in the series
Thanks again Love Notes!
