What place does love have in a world on the brink of war?
The heirs to the two largest monarchies on the continent are under the lock and key of a delusional visionary bent on reshaping the world. Should he succeed, free will would fall.
In a desperate effort to protect their loved ones and the places they call home, Ilysse Cane and Vallyn Morgan have been assigned a delicate task–travel to the capital city of Monstakar. An alliance with the southern kingdom may be the only way to mount a true defense against the evil brewing in the north. When they arrive, however, the politics of a foreign court, a curious sickness, and a mysterious voice plaguing Vallyn’s mind threaten to upend their plans.
And to make matters worse, the tension between Ilysse and Vallyn is approaching its boiling point. When every thread is pulled taut, something must give.
Sapphic romantic fantasy perfection. I love Jessica's writing so so much. It is beautiful, lyrical and so engaging. This is the ultimate side quest, following two side characters from the previous books, but it is a side quest with purpose. Not only do we get an amazing true slow burn romance with all the yearning, we also get a little world expansion and a ton of plot development. I can't wait for the final book and to see everyone united and how everything comes together. I wish this series would go viral on booktok so more people can discover how amazing it is.
I received an eARC from the author. This review reflects my honest thoughts and opinions.
Happy (late) release day Jess!! (I lost my kindle so I couldn't finish on time hahahaha 😭😭😭)
JESSICA SANTI HOW DARE YOU HURT ME AND THEN PUT ME BACK TOGETHER AND THEN HURT ME AGAIN
this was such an amazing third book! I will admit i was a little sad that it wasn't strictly about Deming and Nikita BUT the way I fell even more in love with Vallyn and Ilysse needs to be studied bc i love them both so much 😭😭😭😭😭
Everything about this book had me on the edge of my seat. The politics, the conflict, the romance??!
Vallyn and Ilysse have SOOO MUCH chemistry and to watch them give in and just fall into each other was just so perfect and now im crying again. In the midst of all the shit going on they are able to find this ONE point of happiness ane cling to it. Pls inject them into my veins atp.
I am gnawing on the bars of my enclosure for the next book!!!! (But with so much patience bc PERFECTION CAN NOT BE RUSHED PEOPLE!!!)
thank you a million times Jess for letting me have early access to your world, your characters and your wonderful wonderful (slightly evil) brain. Im truly so honored to know you and be a part of your journey!!!
Obviously very excited for this book after loving books 1-2 in this series. I loved the change in POVs in this book as we get to follow Vallyn and Ilysse - two poeple I have bene ITCHING to get together. Their growth in this book was so fun to read. The world and magic were also very much expanding throughout this book which is making me so excited to see how this series will wrap up!!
Thank you for an early read of Divine Eclipse. This Book 3 of the Veiled Skies Series. This book brings to you a world of want, need, and acceptance. They want something that is right in front of them. They need something that is in reach. Once they have accepted it is ok to let go, the passion erupts. This story is about strength, letting go, and realizing it is ok to open your heart and care. Don’t deny yourself what is right there. Feel their heartbeat. Live your life. Vallyn and IIysse are on their journey to gather allies. Sickness and madness is in the air.. can they complete their task before it is too late? I for one cannot wait for Book 4 to be released. I feel like an epic battle awaits. Destinies will be completed.

I'm lucky to have been a part of Jessica’s arc team since her debut release of Veiled Skies (book 1) and I can't believe we're already on book 3!! I’ve loved following the main characters Deming and Nikita, but I was so excited when I found out that we’d get a full book for Ilysse and Vallyn. These two are great warriors and loyal friends to our main MCs, but somehow can't seem to stand being near each other. Or so we thought 😏 After the events that occur at the end of Light Heart (book 2), Ilysse and Vallyn are sent on a quest. Jessica did a great job furthering the plot along, meanwhile, giving us the relationship I didn’t know we needed!! The chemistry between them was just so fun to explore. Though the slowww burn did have me impatiently yelling “Kiss Already”, it was worth the wait 🥵 I also loved seeing Vallyn’s patience. Her steadiness gave Ilysse the space to be vulnerable & let her guard down. Watching these two lean into their feelings had my heart melting 🥹 Thank you again for this arc opportunity. Seeing this world continuing to expand and getting some very interesting details, has me so curious on how everything will unfold in the last book.
⚔️Side Quest 💫Sapphic ⚔️Expanding World 💫Side Character Romance ⚔️Forced Proximity 💫Annoyance to Lovers ⚔️Banter 💫So Much Yearning ⚔️"Fxck It" (with a twist)
Okay, since this book wasn’t focused on the main leads, I actually loved it. I really enjoyed Vallyn and Illyse's story. It was refreshing to see perspectives from characters other than the leads, especially ones who don’t view the world through rose-colored lenses.
While I do like the direction the story is heading in, I have a feeling the next book will shift the focus back to the main leads. I’m definitely curious about how everything will eventually wrap up, but I’m not particularly eager for the story to become lead-centered again.
So yes, I will continue the series at some point… just probably not immediately after Book 4 releases.
Divine Eclipse truly delivered everything we needed and more✨
Jessica did not disappoint with the third installment of the Veiled Skies series. From the romance to the deepening of the world building to the unveiling of new mysteries this book truly left me wanting more and not wanting it to end!
Vallyn & Ilysse’s story was truly everything we could have wanted and more! From Vallyn’s gentleness and patience, to Ilysse’s backstory and bringing her walls down, I was truly loving every moment of this book. Their banter and chemistry was off the walls and I can’t wait to see what book 4 has in store for them (please Jessica protect them at all costs🫣)
I also truly appreciated how much more world building we got in this book. Journeying to new areas within this world, learning of new mysteries to be solved, and learning more about these characters and their backgrounds. I am so excited to see how all of these things bleed into the next book!
Thank you to Jessica for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this book and this series. I am on the edge of my seat for book 4🩵
