This is the second book in Michael Dalton's new series based in his favorite sometimes-paranormal version of San Diego -- Santo Domingo.
Ryan is continuing to rebuild his life after being released from prison. His harem expands (albeit not at a frenzied pace). The action continues, the sex continues, the details about coastal fishing continue.
It is basically comfortable and immensely satisfying. Skylar is an absolute delight and Madeleine integrated much more smoothly than I expected. Next up, of course, will be Sam. And I would not be surprised if a dolphin-shifter became interested. Yeah, Ryan will need a bigger bed.
The plot was great and the characters are wonderful. Big fun. And, wow, a fast read -- I could not put the book down.
In the first book the MC stated under no uncertain terms that he would never get back with his ex-wife. After all, she abandoned him in the hour of his greatest need... and he forgives her for that? No. That's bullshit, she doesn't deserve to be in the harem. (No this isn't a spoiler, his ex is on the fucking cover.)
In addition, the climax and ending were pretty shitty. There was no solid conclusion, no satisfaction at all. I think I'm dropping this series, it just so tanked hard.
Why are you reading the reviews for a Michael Dalton book. Of course its another instant classic, full of all the mystery, adventure and sexy times you could want. Also, some rekindling of relationships and a glimpse into the mind of a shifter that has found her fated mate...
The first book set a really good scene for the expected series and this is an excellent 2nd book. Continues the arc, keeping the characters interesting and the reader well entertained. I have not liked everything in the fae wilds universe, but this series is one I hope runs for a while.
I wish it was longer but this is a fantastic sequel with the high quality characters and world we expect from Michael. I hope we get a few more books but I'm guessing this series will be a trilogy and I guess that's ok with me but I hope I'm wrong.
This was a great story. It's part of the larger scope of Santo Domingo stories Dalton has published. I enjoy this new take on things and am looking forward to the next one.
Just perfect! Reuniting Madeline and Ryan, and possibilities with Sam
Wonderful connection getting Madeleine back in his life. Skylar in synch and the possibility of Sam just makes this so amazing. Tied with action a shenanigans a great read!
This whole Santo Domingo/Fae Wilds theme has been hugely entertaining through a number of series. Coastal Curves fits in solidly with the rest. Great Job, Author Dalton!!
This series is a good continuation to the Dalton verse. Not lit RPG but still a good read. I like all of the authors books. Can't wait for the next one to come out.
This book brought so many of Dalton's books together for me. Lots of interconnections. And some connections that I thought were by different authors. So there's that.
Really enjoy the story line and the characters. Great read.
A fun detective type mystery, but with sorcery and divination
The MC's girlfriend stumbles upon a body which leads to more bodies and a conspiracy by a powerful sorcerer. Meanwhile, the MC's ex shows up out of the blue and the fireworks start. But they lead to the bedroom.
