Frankie Stone thinks she has successfully reset her life.

Living under her new identity, she has mastered the art of staying invisible. But she can’t look away when she meets a woman married to an abusive and ruthless billionaire.

The prenup is designed to leave the wife with nothing. Frankie convinces her to fight it.She came to Texas to disappear. She stayed to fight.

Still off the grid and one step ahead of the detective who wants her in prison, Frankie Stone has traded courtrooms for a feed store in small-town Texas. No name. No past. No problems.

Until she meets a woman whose billionaire husband has left her with nothing but bruises and an ironclad prenup.

The husband has a team of high-priced lawyers. The wife has no one — except a stranger who can't walk away from injustice.

Frankie can't step into a courtroom without exposing everything she's been hiding. So she works from the shadows while one of the most powerful legal teams in Texas tries to bury them both.

The prenup looks unbreakable. The odds are impossible. Frankie's done the impossible before.

Shadow Justice is a gripping legal thriller for fans of John Grisham and Lisa Gardner.

You can’t put it down legal drama

Both the first and 2nd books are compelling reads. Legal tension and the “good guy” is not always the one you think. Best Terry Toler series yet! Can’t wait for book 3

Frankie Stone, aka Francesca Costa, is in a small town in Texas. She makes friends with the owner of a Feed store and is enjoying working for him. But, tragedy strikes in the form of a fire at the store and Frankie knows to move on.

Before leaving town, she stops at one of the friends she had made, Carolyn. Carolyn owns a dress store and just posted a notice that help was needed..Why not, thought Frankie, she had just met a man that she really liked, so she asks Carolyn for the job and finds that it is for working at Carolyn's house and doing cleaning chores. She would be furnished a room there and paid good money. So Frankie decides to take the job and stay a little longer in Texas.

Frankie notices changes in Carolyn and realizes that her husband might be abusing her. Now when Frankie meets Carolyn's husband, another secret is revealed! More courtroom drama, great reading!

This is the first time I have ever read the first and second books in a series back-to-back, and now I am about to start the third.
That probably says everything about how satisfied I am with this series, and I haven’t even started Terry Toler’s much larger series featuring his main character, Jamie Austen.

The wandering heroine in this series continues to be a perfect character. The plot moves at lightning speed, with short, punchy sentences, clever storytelling, unexpected twists, and logical arguments that all come together to make the book exceptionally engaging.

It is the kind of book that makes you want to keep reading, and then keep reading some more. I simply want more of the same.

Note: You can read this book as a stand alone one, but you are better off starting with book #1 in the series.

Not quite as good as the first book in the series, but still a very gripping story. Book one is a hard act to follow! The plot for this one wasn't quite as unique and there were parts of the story that crept toward uncomfortable for me. Still, I'm eager to move on to book three right away.

I'm fascinated by Frankie's brilliance as an attorney and the legal strategies she employs. I don't like to read book blurbs when moving on to the next book in a series I'm enjoying, so I'm assuming Frankie will continue her crusade to see that justice is served, especially for women who are being abused. I'm hoping for a plot as distinctive as book one (Cold Justice).

This was another Terry Toler book that I had a hard time putting down!! The ending couldn't have been any better!! There were a few surprises in the book (for me at least) which were very good. I enjoyed this one better than the first bc Frankie remained the main character in this one and we were able to follow along. This one is definitely going into the "Favorites" file! It's one that already look forward to re-reading!

Good sequel.

Terry has developed several good characters in the sequel. I wish more pages were devoted to develop each further. And I wish more pages were devoted to Port's revenge so the suspense could last longer and his demise and end were prolonged. The book ended before I was ready to put it down.

outstanding series

I love the Frankie Stone character and those vulnerable women she helps. Who turn out not so vulnerable when given a chance at confidence. Carolyn is married to a Texas billionaire. But she is beaten and cheated on regularly. Can’t wait for the next book in the series and many more!!
