Poisoned: A Snow White inspired dark reverse harem why choose omegaverse

I was a princess with no crown. They were wolves with no one to keep. I wasn't supposed to be theirs. They weren't supposed to be mine.

When my parents loaded me into a golden carriage and shipped me to seven unmated alpha wolf shifters like a wrapped gift, I was ready for the worst. Two years of being auctioned off by my own family had taught me everything I needed to know about it's a transaction, and omegas are currency.

The Huntsmen Pack wasn't what I prepared for. They gave me a room with a bolt on the door. They fed me and asked nothing in return. They courted me with wildflowers and hand-built furniture and the kind of patience that made me forget I was supposed to be guarding my heart.

But the forest has teeth, and not all of them belong to my wolves. Something is hunting me, something that knows the pack's weaknesses better than I do. And the closer I get to my alphas, the more dangerous it becomes for all of us.

A dark reverse harem omegaverse retelling of Snow White featuring seven devoted alphas, a heroine who chooses her own fate, scorching heat with all seven love interests, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Poisoned is the first book I've read by Jamie K. Schmidt, and it was a good one. This book was spicy and had tropes I really enjoy. It's a first-person, omegaverse Snow White retelling with scent matches, wolf shifters, and much more.

In this world, women can have power unless they're an omega. Bianca was the heir to the throne before presenting as an omega and was stripped of everything. She's angry, and I don't blame her one little bit. However, Bianca accepted going to the pack as her duty to help her people, and she did so with poise and grace that anyone would be hard-pressed to present after losing so much. Yet, the Seven pack wasn't how she'd imagined. Girl won the lottery with these shifters. Each one has a strong, distinctive personality and brings something to the pack. They were kind and understanding and let her set the pace; every single one of them took her into consideration. They were amazingly warm. I know my heart melted a bit.

Jamie seamlessly blended the old with the new. It was to recognize the essential elements of Snow White, but there are also wolf shifters and a princess who is more than capable. Overall, the story was entertaining. I really enjoyed the twists, and the characters were likeable. Poisoned is a good read, especially for retelling lovers who like a little spice.

Poisoned is a fast‑paced, why‑choose Snow White retelling set in an omegaverse world, featuring a wolf pack of seven alphas and an omega princess with no crown. All the classic Snow White elements are woven in, and spotting the parallels makes the story even more fun, especially if you’re a fan of the original fairytale. Of course, this version comes with a very adult twist.

Bianca is an omega who was raised her whole life to become queen, only to be used as a bargaining chip and sold to the highest bidder. She hates the idea of being controlled by her nature or her status, and that pushback adds great tension to the alpha‑omega dynamic. But she’s surprised to discover that the Huntsman Pack is nothing like she expected. As slow trust begins to build, she realizes it won’t be long before her omega instincts take over. So she decides to take control and make her own choice before that happens.

This leads us down the spicy path of what it’s like to be bonded to seven alphas, and Jamie K. Schmidt does not disappoint with the details. The bonds, the heat, the emotional beats — all of it lands.

I finished this book in one sitting. It’s a great standalone and a perfect transition read if you’re looking for something fast, fun, and deliciously spicy.

My thoughts: I’ve never liked the Snow White story and it’s always been my least favourite fairytale with how boring Snow White is and well the major lack of consent of Prince Phillip’s part, but this retelling changes everything I hated into something I loved. First the dwarves, changing tiny men into huge alpha werewolves was definitely I creative choice but I loved it. It’s been a while since I’ve read a reverse harem, let alone one with 7 mmcs but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Despite this book being just a little over 200 pages, each wolf is unique and gets time to bond Bianca and it gives us time to love them more as well. The plot was also so dark, twisted and fun, and I love the take on the Evil Queen and her apples. But what I loved most was the change in the being, and how Bianca didn’t need a prince to break the spell just her own strength (though her werewolves backed her the whole time). She truly is a queen at heart even if she’s seen as “property” because she an omega. The found family is beautiful, the spice is SPICING, and I just loved the romance between Bianca and the 7 very whipped wolves. Never has retelling made me love a story so much more. I give this a 4.5/5

This was a dark, erotic fairy-tale retelling of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves… and let me tell you, there was absolutely nothing dwarf-sized about the seven in this story.

Princess Bianca presents as an omega, and her father, the King, has made a deal with the Seven, sending her to live with them. Bianca believes the arrangement is simply about breeding, but as she gets to know each of the men, she discovers that there is much more to their relationship than she ever expected.

I'll be honest—the plot wasn't exactly overflowing with depth, but what it lacked in plot, it certainly made up for in spice. IYKYK.

This was a quick, dark, and very spicy fairy-tale retelling that was definitely more focused on the smut than the storyline. While it wasn't quite a five-star read for me, it was still a solid 3-star read and delivered exactly the kind of quick, dirty escape I was looking for.

If you're looking for a dark Snow White retelling with omegaverse elements, seven men, and plenty of spice, this might be one to add to your TBR!

Poisoned by Jamie K. Schmidt
4.5/5 ⭐️

Thanks to the author and Grey's Promotions for the ARC reading!

This was such a fun and spicy dark fairytale retelling! I really enjoyed the dynamic between all of the characters, and watching the relationships develop was probably one of my favorite parts of the story.

Cullen was definitely my favorite. 🥰 There was just something about him that really stood out to me, and I found myself wanting more of his relationship with the heroine.

My biggest complaint is that I honestly wish the story had been longer. I felt like there was so much potential for the romances to develop even more, and I would have loved to have more time with each of the characters before everything came together. The relationships sometimes felt a little rushed because of how quickly the story moved.

That being said, I still really enjoyed the story and the character dynamics, and it was a fun take on the Snow White fairytale. Definitely worth picking up if you enjoy dark fairytale retellings, reverse harem romance, and plenty of spice!

Thank you to Jamie K Schmidt and Grey's Promotions for the ARC, this is my honest review

Overall, if you're looking for a short, dark, spicy omegaverse read with a fun Snow White twist, seven memorable MMCs, and a plot that gradually develops as the story progresses, this was an entertaining one.

The majority of the book was smut, while also giving us personality traits and some backstory into the MMCs, as the FMC bonds with them. There are alot of details and explanations describing a wolf in heat and how bonding, rutting and knotting occur. I enjoyed getting to know each of the men individually and it was fun seeing the Seven Dwarfs inspiration there.

The last quarter of the book the plot started picking up and the mystery and suspense became more prominent. I liked the shift in pacing because it gave the story a little more momentum toward the end. At under 250 pages, it makes for a quick read when you're in the mood for something fun, steamy and a little mysterious.

This was my first Jamie K Schmidt book and I assumed it was an omegaverse, but it’s more like a mash-up between omegaverse and wolf shifters. Bianca is next in line for the throne as the eldest of two royal daughters, when she presents as a (human) omega during a state dinner, and suddenly she’s only coveted for her womb anymore. Her father the king gifts her to the Seven, a pack that has been defending the country’s border for a while now, to strengthen their allegiance and make sure they stay loyal to the royals. Bianca is terrified because of how alphas have been treating her ever since she presented, but the werewolf pack is determined to appreciate, treasure and even love her for who she is, on her terms. This is a Snow White retelling, so there’s a witch involved, but that’s for you to find out whilst reading. The story isn’t very profound, but it’s a fun and entertaining read you will fly through.

This book is exactly as it is described- a Snow White inspired, dark why-choose, omegaverse romance.

I love wolf shifter romance and when Bianca gets sent to bond with a pack of 7 alpha wolves, I knew I was in for a wild read. This story, while short, is packed with spice. If you like omegaverse spice, this book will not disappoint.

I enjoyed the subtle tie-ins to the original story of Snow White and thought all the characters were well written. I always appreciate in books where there is a large harem of guys, that each MMC is written with their own distinct traits and personality. My only critique is that I wanted more story along with the spice. I would have loved more of Bianca’s back story, more details on how the pack of 7 lone wolves found each other, and just more overall world building.

Again, this book delivers on what was promised. It’s the perfect read for why-choose fans wanting a quick and easy standalone filled with extra spice.

Thank you to the author and Grey's Promotions for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest feedback.

I read this book as an ARC and this is my honest review.

I could not put this book down! It’s a Snow White retelling, but instead of seven dwarves, it’s an omegaverse and it’s seven alphas.

FMC Princess Bianca was in line to be the next queen, until she produced as an omega. She was then “sold” to a pack of seven alphas and was terrified of what her future would hold. But these seven alphas are the kindest and sweetest while also being fierce and protective and complete consent kings.

I really thought I would have a hard time remembering the difference between all seven alphas, but the author does a really good job keeping them separate and unique.

Definitely can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!!

This was exactly what I needed it to be. It’s a Snow White retelling. But the dwarves are 7 werewolf alphas who will do anything and everything for their omega.

Bianca was supposed to be queen. But now she is treated as nothing but a womb to be sold to the highest bidder. When she arrives in the forest of the Seven. None are what she expects and she is different than they anticipated as well.

It’s a quick read with spice but also enough depth of feeling. And some suspense thrown in for a little extra. I was a very enjoyable read. 100% recommend.

I received this as an ARC for free. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

I really enjoyed this snow white inspired omagaverse story.

I liked that Biana was a fighter and didn't want to back down to the Omega heat and wanted to be with the new men in her life at her pace.

I loved that they all wanted her and would go at her speed. They did not push and let her fall in love with them for who they were.

The sweet moments and just let them all get to know each other.

I hope there is a next book to see what happens with her sister.
