The Moonstone Palace

Rate this book
Betrayed by those she once held dear, kidnapped by her enemies, and held captive in a cursed kingdom, Ashton Blake only has one escape and warn The Light Queen of the dangers lurking within her own court. In the hopes of finding an ally, or even information she can bring back to her kingdom, Ashton stumbles upon a centuries-long festering resentment and secrets that could change the balance of power forever.

Once again left powerless, Ashton must rely on her instinct to beat the trials she is forced to endure at her enemy’s hands. In order to survive she must also learn to trust the person whose betrayal cut the deepest. Forgiveness doesn’t come easy and trust, in this world, has never been a safe bet.

Can she find a way out of the Moonstone Palace before she is forced to break a spell that could result in her demise or will she end up a pawn in the destruction of The Light Kingdom?

This series has me in a chokehold.
So twisty and book 3’s plot has a lot of layers to it that I enjoyed being surprised by.
You’re left guessing who the actual villain is, who is loyal to who, and what is the mysterious prophecy no one will say aloud?!
Not to mention the emotional damage you go through reading this- give me more!

Do you like particularly devastating books? Yes? Then this is the one for you!!

Since this is book 3 in a series, I’m going to try to keep it spoiler free, but let’s just say the heartbreak is REAL in this one 🥲

The FMC, Ashton, is in a living hell basically the entire book. So many times I just wanted to give her a hug because she just couldn’t catch a break and everything she experiences was so traumatic. Despite this, she’s such a strong willed individual and I admire her tenacity. She doesn’t allow the hardships to break her and I really appreciate that!

Beckett is still my favorite and I need to know what happens next!!!! Although he does some pretty questionable things… I still trust him even if that might be a mistake 😅 And Cade is up there for me too. He’s such a good friend to Ashton when she really needs someone to lean on. Even though he made me mad at the end of the first book, he more than made up for that in this one!

I really loved the expanded world building! There is so much information you learn in this book and things start to make more sense with the more you learn. However, I still have so many questions and I can’t wait for them to be answered!! 👀

There are SO many twists and turns in this book. SO much deception. This is one of those reads that leaves you questioning every single person’s motivations and keeps you second guessing every choice and statement made. I feel like no one is truly trustworthy 😳 And the cliffhanger at the end?! I need the next book like I need the air I breathe!!! This is the kind of series that just keeps getting better with every book you read!

Strap in for answers… and even more questions

If you read the second book in the series and were left completely flabbergasted, get read!! The Moonstone Palace dives even deeper into Ashton’s journey. As a reader, you’re constantly questioning who can truly be trusted right alongside her, which adds so much tension and depth. This is an incredible addition to the series, and I cannot wait for book four!

Is it cringe to rate your own book? Probably, but out of everyone, I have read this the most and that should count for something. I hope you enjoy it as much as you can enjoy pain and suffering.
