This is what I felt like I was doing while reading this one ...

description

A few times I felt like the urge to give up, but I plodded on, mostly because the hung cowboy gave some good poking and wouldn't accept her excuses. He was pretty dreamy (though a bit too much of a soppy shit).

This was free so I can't complain too much. Also, the story ends at 68% but a prequel novella is included.

Cowboys. You can't go wrong with a good cowboy story in my opinion, and that's exactly what Forget Me Knot was... A good, fun and VERY sexy cowboy story.

Lacy Denvers is determined to learn how to ride a horse. After losing her job, she heads up to North Dakota and, at the Crawley Creek Ranch in the dead of Winter, she plans to do just that.

Drannon Russo found family at Crawley Creek. After losing his Mom, and being taken in by Abe and Sera Crawley, he found a new life and new hope at the ranch. When his plans for a new life away from the ranch failed, he headed back to the only place he's ever been at peace and at home.

When Lacy and Drannon meet, their chemistry is undeniable, but how can they make it work when he can't leave and she can't stay?

Well, hell. I didn't expect this story to be quite that hot. But it was...oh, it was. And that, along with Drannon's charming-but-a-little-messed-up brothers, is what made is book so good. Forget Me Knot ended sooner than I would have expected... I think I was looking at the percentage read and expecting more time for them, more conflict, more drama, but regardless, I found the connection between Lacy and Drannon to be solid. And although their love was a little too much, too soon for my typical tastes, I can't deny it worked here.

What also worked was the dynamic between Drannon and his foster brothers. I loved this part of the story -- that these boys were made a family by a giving, loving and strong couple, and that they stuck together after all these years. As an opener for a new series, Forget Me Knot provided some charming and intriguing characters upon which to build a foundation and I can't wait to see what comes next. ~ Beth, 4 stars

Who doesn't love a down and dirty cowboy book? I sure as heck do! And Forget Me Knot certainly fits the bill!

Lacy Danvers is on a mission... a mission to turn her life around and one way (so she thinks) is to start marking things off her bucket list including learning how to ride a horse. Doesn't matter that it's winter in Wyoming--she's bound and determined. And Drannon Russo is just the man to teach her.

Drannon has been living at the Crawley Creek Ranch since being placed there as a foster child. He's found a home with his foster siblings, but maybe now he'll find love.

I loved the dynamic between Lacy and Drannon. I loved their strength as individuals and well as how they balanced each other--in and out of the bedroom. I also loved the relationship between Drannon and his "brothers" and cannot wait for more in this series. ~ Missy, 4 stars

Hot enough to melt a North Dakota blizzard. In this first book of the Crawley Creek series, Lori King introduces the reader to 4 cowboys, each rugged and seductive in their own unique ways. Drannon is the oldest, and he instantly falls for their vacationing guest Lacy. She's at a crossroads, but the handsome cowboy threatens to detour her plans. It is ironically this group of orphaned brothers that gives her a sense of family that she has longed for. It was fun to meet the men and to become familiar with the beauty of the North Dakota setting. While Lacy is asked to change her address, she is never asked to change who she is. In fact the brothers respect her immensely, even through all their teasing. The passion is hot and intense. As much as I loved meeting Drannon, I can't wait to get to know the other guys a little better, too.

The back story of Crawley Creek Ranch - Abe and Sera couldn't have kids of their own, but Sera was naturally maternal. The couple decided they would foster children. When Drannon was 8, his mother died of an overdose and he was brought to Crawley Creek. It didn't take long for him to fall in love with the Crawley's and vice versa, so he stayed with them permanently.

It's 30 years later and sadly, Abe and Sera have passed. Drannon and 3 of his foster brothers, Vin, Roman (aka Romeo) and Hawke are running Crawley Creek Ranch. And what a group this is! Drannon feels like a screw-up with a failed marriage, failed career and stint in jail under his belt. He moved to Texas when he was younger and married his high school sweetheart. She left him a couple years after they moved. He ended up getting arrested for embezzling money from his company even though he was innocent. His attorney pushed him to take a plea bargain and Drannon had to swallow his pride and call the Crawleys for help. They were 100% supportive and hired him a new big shot attorney that ended up proving his innocence. Vin is former military suffering from PTSD and also served some time in jail. Roman is drowning himself in alcohol and women. His self-destructive behavior is weighing on the other brothers. Hawke is a bit younger than the other brothers. He loves playing video games and even though he's gone through some rough times, he is probably the most easy-going of the group. Even though they have their own issues, all 4 of these guys are super hot cowboys, but look totally different

Lucy is about to turn 30. Her birthday is on valentine's day, which might be romantic if she ever had a boyfriend to share it with. Lucy's mother died during childbirth and after losing the love of his life, her father just checked out emotionally after that. He took care of her, but they had no emotional relationship. Lacy isn't innocent, but she has never really learned how to be in a relationship. For her 30th birthday, she has decided to treat herself and do something she's always wanted to do: ride a horse. She books herself a 2 week vacation to Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch. She booked the trip before she lost her job....and started her own marketing company.....and realized just how cold and snowy it is in North Dakota in February. Regardless, Lacy is determined to enjoy her trip and she is hoping to get some good news while she is here. She placed a bid for a marketing contract with a big dog food company that could make her new company take off.

Neither Lacy nor Drannon expected to feel the blazing inferno of attraction for the other. Even though their first few run-ins ended a little awkward, they are drawn to each other. Drannon loves Lacy's fiery spirit and bright red hair. Lacy can't resist the sweet and romantic alpha cowboy. They only have two weeks together, so a relationship wouldn't make sense.

A blizzard is coming to North Dakota and it pushes Lacy and Drannon into close proximity. Their restraint doesn't last. Lacy is determined to keep it a fling and Drannon is determined to show Lacy what she will be missing when she leaves. Can Drannon convince Lacy to take a chance on him even though they haven't known each other long?

I liked a lot about this book. I mean the story was good. The emotional background of Crawley Creek was nice. There were some flashbacks of Drannon's life growing up there. Lacy was kind and resilient. So why didn't I give this 5 stars? I was missing a connection. The only thing I can think is believability. Lacy is supposed to be this 30 year old woman that doesn't really do relationships well and isn't cool with flings, but it took her only a couple days to jump into bed with Drannon......and demanding for him to f*ck her. It felt a bit forced. I cringed a few times when she was complaining about being raw or sore and Drannon's only response was for more intimacy (which obviously worked because Lacy was demanding sex right after). It was hard for me to imagine this huge transformation with them both in less than 2 weeks. Maybe I am just a cynic?

This is the first in a new series by this wonderful storyteller, Lori King. If you have never read one of Lori's books before, give this one a try. Abe and Sera Crawley couldn't have kids themselves, so they did a truly unselfish thing, they took in foster children. This is only brief minutes of the book, however, without that one moment of them deciding to foster, we wouldn't have the men who now run Crawley Creek Ranch. Each have a heart breaking story, of how they arrived there, but they stayed there because it was the one safe place they every knew. Drannon came there when his mom died. Like any child, he left the ranch to make it on his one. When he stumbled, he always had a home to come back to.

Lacy never knew her mother, and her father never really got over her mother enough to put enough into her. It sad that she lost one parent, yet not really having the other in a different way. When she loses her job, she decides to go do the one thing she always want to do.....ride a horse.

The chemistry between Drannon and Lacy is instantaneous. You could almost see it was so strong. He is a cowboy through and through, but for Lacy, he can be as tender as a filet mignon.

I really enjoyed this story, and I look forward to the next installment.

The first book in Lori King’s new Crawley Creek series introduces readers to a unique set of brothers with dark and tortured pasts, but focuses on the eldest of the bunch and his instant attraction to disheartened young woman with a childhood yearning that was unfulfilled.

Drannon Russo has his demons, but the love for his foster brothers has never waned. A sexy Cowboy, a hard worker and loyal to a fault, Drannon is also human, and the loneliness of life on the land can sneak up on you when it’s least expected.

Lacy is suffering from yet another disappointment, but while awaiting news of a potential career, she’s determined to do what she’s always dreamed; learn to ride a horse. Lacy’s never come first in anyone’s life, so looking for romance is not on her radar. But a luscious Cowboy is making her rethink her well laid plans for the future and turning her whole world upside down.

While some might think the romance between this couple moved way to fast, the romantic in me truly believes in love at first sight and applauded their passion.

A quick and steamy read about a group of foster brothers that run a ranch in North Dakota. This book peaked my interest, especially since I spent many a summer on a ND ranch.

A great start to a new series and can't wait to read the rest of the brother's stories.

DNF'd at 31% when the woman said:

"Hearing that I'm vacationing in a house full of convicts is enough of an explanation for me."

Nope. Judgemental or what? And she has no idea what crimes they have committed??

No thanks.

Another Amazing hot and wonderful story by this author. It is only the second one I have read but so far I am loving her work. This is a story about second chances and not only for relationship but for children (it is part of the backstory). The author gives you a peak into the why and how the Crawley Ranch started and how these sexy cowboys became brothers. Your taken back into just a glimpse and not overly done. There was no time wasted and the flow was continuously. I loved the setting of the story along with the season, makes it perfect for any especially for winter. The main characters had an immediate sizzling attraction that you could hold onto. However, i have to say I loved all the brothers and can't wait for their stories. They brought humor to the story. Drannon (one of the owners now) has had a hard life, he's grown into his adulthood and has overcome many obstacles. He's your sexy, rugged, and raw cowboy. Lacy, needed a break away from her everyday struggle. She hasn't had the best of childhood either. Gorgeous red head, yet a low self-esteem. At a ranch with all those sexy cowboys, talk about a girls dream come true!! As the story progress these two are a hot force to be reckoned with and the scenes are smoldering hot. I loved that yes they were broken but for the most part have grown up. This is truly a hot romance that will have you begging for more and hold on because there are more brothers to fulfill needs. I can't wait to see what the author holds for the future in this series and ill definitely be jumping to grab the next one. Grab this one for your next hot and sexy cowboy read!!

Review: Forget Me Knot (Crawley Creek #1) Lori King Before she begins pulling her life back together, Lacey Denvers is going to mark something off her bucket list but her dream vacation to the Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch turns out to be a treasure trove of cowboy eye candy and she’s wrapped in a cocoon of snow in this riveting romance.

Drannon Russo has only moved away from the ranch once and had to lean on family support when his dreams were shattered but being a cowboy is a pretty lonely existence and the readers can’t help but be captivated as Lacy and Drannon find themselves with an undeniable attraction to each other. The chemistry is quite hot which certainly keeps the characters and the readers warm during the unpredictable North Dakota winter but the relationship building isn’t so hot when their emotional issues get in the way. These strong compelling characters easily draw readers into this well written, fast paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense and romance with spine tingling expectation building as readers wait to discover if this dream vacation turns out to be a mistake or Drannon and Lacey find their future.

I was glued to the pages of this romance and Crawley Creek is definitely on my list of hot spots to visit with all the sexy cowboys and their intriguing plans for the future of the ranch.

Lacy is determined to enjoy her vacation even though when she booked it she forgot to think about the weather in February. Now that she is out of a job she is more determined than ever to have fun even if it's not quite what she expected.

Drannon just wants his life to be a bit fuller than it is right now, what that means he's not exactally sure, but when he meats a tempting red head everything he's ever wanted is within reach. If only he can convince her what they have is more than a vacation fling while she stays at his ranch.

Time is on neither of their side, but with the help of a blizzard and some meddling brothers will these two figure things out?

Lacy is saucy and full of sass, shes lived for her career and now that she's at risk of losing it all she has to figure out what it is she really wants next in life.

Drannon has lost allot in life, but sometimes he forgets hes gotten allot too. He's an alpha male who doesn't mind letting someone else take the lead every once in a while. He knows when to talk and when to wait it out.

This one is all about time and living life to the fullest. These two both know what they want, but admiting it is the scary part and this is about their journey to doing exactally that. Enjoyable afternoon read.

"The Legacy lives on"
This amazing series will win your heart! . Beginnings the first book of this series introduces you to Abe and Sera the founders of Crawley Creek Ranch. These young men have plans to keep the Legacy going. The young men plan to take it even further to do this they take paying guests after Abe died who want to experience a little of ranch life. Lacy had book a stay at the ranch to get away for her birthday she always wanted to learn to ride a horse. Only she did not think things through very well as she booked her stay for in the winter. When Lacy first gets to the Ranch she runs into Drannon and the sexual sparks fly between the two lol. Then a snow storm hits which adds to the tension. Will Lacy end up with more then a riding lesson will she also end up with a sexy cowboys heart?. These Crawley Creek Romances are so sweet and amazing you can not help but love them!! Cowboys.
Sexy cowboys and lots of snow outside.
Can't get much sexier than that!!

Lacy's lost her job. She decided to start her own business, depending solely upon one contract she heads to Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch in North Dakota. She always wanted to learn to ride a horse and she's finally going to do it.
There she meets Drannon Russo. One of the sexy owners of the ranch.
Drannon and Lacy had chemistry from the very beginning of this book. Though she seemed hell bent on getting back to Chicago I had to hope from the beginning she changed her mind and decided Drannon and the ranch were the place she was meant to be.
Both have pasts, they have a history to overcome but they manage to put that on the back burner and enjoy the time they have together.

Drannon is sexy as hell and mature enough to know what he wants without playing games. He everything Calla wants and needs but will she accept his heart or will she follow her dreams.

The story has laughs, secrets and heartbreak.

This is Lacy and Drannon’s story. Lacy booked a trip to the Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch but didn’t realize that she might be snowed in during her stay. She meets Drannon the first day but the meeting turns awkward after a little flirting. She meets him and again and realizes he is great but intense. Can she deal with that? The more time she spends with Drannon the more she has feelings for him but she is awaiting he big break and if she gets it she can’t stay. Can she give up on the dream she wanted to stay and love Drannon? Or will she realize her dreams have changed? Will Drannon ask her to stay or expect her to go? Will love win in the end?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This is the first book of Lori King that I have read and I loved it!

This is the story of Drannon and Lacy at Crawley Creek Ranch.

Lacy has come to get away from her life after she loses her job. She booked this trip before she lost her job and this trip was for her to re-evaluate her life. She was not expecting someone like Drannon to change her life dramatically.

Drannon has been through some tough times in his life and is not expecting the visitor to the ranch to make such an impact on him.

They both find it hard to fight the attraction but will Lacy give up her life to stay in North Dakota?

This was a quick read that captivated you from the start and couldn't put it down. It pulls at the heart strings with what these 2 people went through in life to be where they are now.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. - Naughty Book Eden

Lacy is going to learn how to ride a horse and in the process she will find herself again. She has been lost and reeling since she doesn't have her job to hold onto anymore. So she decides to check something off her bucket list. Going to the Crawley's ranch will bring her to Drannon who is lonely and as broken as Lacy. They are attracted to each other from the moment they meet and agree to spend two weeks together until she has to return home. In the process they fall hard for each other and share some sizzling moments together. I love that Drannon is so romantic. The moment he shares with Lacy on her birthday was incredibly sweet. Now Lacy just has to decide where home is for her. I so loved this sweet and sexy love story.

I give Forget Me Knot 4 hearts!

Cowboy Cake

This was a excellent and fun book and I loved it from beginning to end. Lacy has kind of lost her way and is in search of trying to find what she wants out of life. So she decides to fulfill one of her dreams which is to learn how to ride a horse. Enter Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch (CCCR) which is owned by Drannon Russo and his brothers. Drannon who had issues of his own came home after realizing that family has your back through the good times and the bad times. The story-line flowed from one page to the next, the characters were delicious and the chemistry was combustible. I really enjoyed this visit to Crawley Creek Cattle Ranch and can't wait to see what's in store for the next brother and the lucky lady who ropes him.

I just love Lori king her books are so real. you feel every emotion.
lacy is trying to enjoy the hard knocks that life has laid on her. she's with out a job but she plans on making the most of, she just didn't realize that her heart would lay roots.

Drannon is sexy sweet, he yearning for somthing more. but not real sure if he knows what that is. Drannon has suffered alot in his life, but when he meets the sassy mouth red head, she may be just what he needs. Drannon is an alpha and just like all alphas he gets what he wants and stakes claim on it, but can he get Lacy to realize it's more than just a fling.
I loved this book I'm never disappointed with Lori King definitely a must read.

After lossing her job Lacy heads to Crawley Creek Ranch in North Dakota for vacation. She scheduled this trip because she has always wanted to ride a horse. Drannon, one of the owners of Crawley Creek Ranch has an immediate attraction to Lacy. He want her to stay and all she wants is to go back to Chicago to start a new career. Drannon and Lacy have problems from their past. Now they will have to decide to hold onto the past or embrace the present and in turn the future.

Can Drannon convince Lacy to stay with him at the ranch? Will both of their pasts prevent them from having a future together?

Read Forget Me Knot and find out want happens. This is a Fantastic book ! !

Rope me a Cowboy.

This is book 1 in the Crawley Creek series. It is a stand alone M/F book with a HEA. Lacy is an only child and was raised by her father after her mom died when she was born. She does not really know how to do relationships. Drannon grow up in a foster home after his mom OD on drugs when he was 8. He is working on getting his life back together with his 3 brothers. This is a wonderful story of two misfits finding each other and figuring out they are a perfect fit. Loved this story, looking forward to the next one.

This was a really enjoyable read. I loved the storyline and the chacters, Drannon&Lacy. They had a great chemistry and you could feel their intensity through the pages. It flowed smoothly and it was full with information and it was easy to follow. My only small niggle is that Drannon and Lacy's relationship moved too fast in the beginning. Otherwise it was a great start to a new series and I recommend it!

Another great story by Lori King. Lacy has lost a job and went on holiday to North Dakota to learn to ride a horse. Drannon Russo is one of the lwners of Crawley Creek Cattle ranch. And when they meet, sparks fly. They both have their own past and fighting their own demons but when they are together they forget everything and enjoy each others company. I like the end, I'm glad Lacy took a risk:-)

This book was a steamy quick read. I loved the depth of the characters and the sex was HOT. But, there was an actual storyline that will keep you reeled in until the end. Lacy is a strong willed woman looking for a new direction in her life and Drannon is a super hot cowboy with a broken spirit until he meets Lacy. Together they find the pieces of their lives that they were looking for.

Very good story. Both Drannon and Lacey needed someone special in their lives. Good thing she booked a winter vacation to North Dakota. I love the story line of foster kids and what a family can do for them. That has a special place in my heart.
