For a year he’s watched me. He’s followed me and never bothered to hide it. He’s made my life hell. Unfortunately for me, he’s starting to wear me down. And when everything starts to fall apart around me, I run right into the arms of the villain.
The Puppetmaster
She’s pissing me off. She’s been mine since I met her, and I’ll get her to accept that eventually. Until then I’ll continue to toy with her. I love watching her face when she realizes I’m right there, yet again. Keeping her safe and keeping others away. She’s mine. And I will annihilate anyone who tries to get in my way.
FINALLY. I have been going off the rails for what feels like forever. The Shadows of Perdition collection kicked off with Affliction where we met Mav and Parker, well welcome to Torment motherfuckers. Here we get to dive into Karson Tate, who btw, seduced the fuck out of me in Affliction. Mav has my heart and Karson definitely has my soul because I'm OBSESSED and would kill to be POSSESSED by this man.
Let us begin. Torment takes place after the events of Affliction so OBVIOUSLY you need to get baptised by that first before diving into this. This plot, this fucking plot. I loved it from the get go, this is a story fueled with fire and gasoline. We have the continued greater sub-plot, we have twists and turns and "OH MY GOD" moments. I giggled, I screeched, I RAAAAAAAAAGED. And then I breathed out a satisfied sigh. I literally cannot go into any more detail because I'll spoil EVERYTHING.
Karson Tate. What can I say? Mav is a doberman with lethal training and sleek operational grace. Karson is a bear, on cocaine and caffeine, wielding chainsaws for arms. And we love it. So much YEARNING coupled with so much OBSESSION plus genuine DEVOTION. I'm swooning just writing this...
Ashlyn, our favorite firecracker bestie from Doc's. Tiff outside herself when she developed Ashlyn, IMO. So much depth in one character, blew my mind. Layers on layers on layers, like a literary lasagna. A character development parfait of sorts. This queen gives Karson a run for his money and then some, the back and forth between these two is SO satisfying. The banter and the heat and the tension all piled together is a delicious combo that I could devour for weeks.
All in all, this was an incredible continuation of an amazing original story. There are MANY things hinting at more to come and I can't wait to see what else Tiff has up her sleeve. Sign me up for the rest right the fuck now.
Reading Torment was such an emotional rollercoaster and I am desperate for more!!
I love that there is an overlapping plot that started in Affliction (Book 1) and is continuing in Torment but I love even more that there is still a complete story within the pages of Torment.
The complexity of the relationship between Karson and Ashlynn was written so well. There are so many layers to the emotional and feelings between the two of them, and yet Tiffany managed to write it so authentically that even the dark parts fit so perfectly.
It's clear early on that despite Ashlynn's "hate" for Karson, there is more there. As the story unfolds, both past experiences and present experiences are spelled out giving the meat to understand their dynamic.
In addition to their relationship development, there is a significant amount of suspense and mystery associated with girls being taken from the bar, a death on the premises, and the security crew just trying to adjust and grow to the need for more on site availability. The security team is great, the dynamic/banter between Karson, Cole and Mav is great. I enjoyed getting to watch the boys work through solving these crimes just as much as I loved the untangling of the mess between Karson and Ashlynn.
Tiffany did such a wonderful job balancing drama, mystery, romance, spice, and plot twists. If you're a fan of dark romance, this is for you!
Listen.. I need you to understand something i love Parker and Maverick don't get me wrong. They have a special place in my heart (From Affliction). But Ashlynn and Karson came and drove right into my heart like a tornado. From every angry moment, to tears, to the peace. I felt it. I cried with them, smiled with them and i was angry when they were angry. i felt that i was dragged into the book and i was living in the moment from page one. The spicy is real, the feeling are real. The hate to love is real.
Karson and Ashlynn will always have another part of my heart, just like Maverick and Parker. There was parts where I wanted to fight Karson, but that what these books do to me. Make me feel alive and that i am part of their world. I love books like these where they take me on emotional roll coaster, and still feel the connection the the plot.
Tiffany has a way of making the character emotions, and their action come to live when you read her books, it never fails to amaze me.. The emotional roller coaster and the back and forth is amazing, you will cry on parts of the book and other times you want to throw it cause it feels that much real for you. ( Please don't throw the book i might cry if you do.) Tiffany is such an amazing author and her books always make me feel something, and got lost in another world when i need to escape mine.
Torment picks up right where Affliction left off, immediately throwing us back into the darkness that bleeds through Perdition. Karson is the ultimate over-the-top, touch her and die MMC that we all love, while Ashlynn is anything but meek and mild. She’s fiercely independent, though not always by choice. From a young age, Ashlynn learned the world could be cruel and unforgiving, and that sometimes the only person you can rely on is yourself.
Tiffany White doesn’t shy away from the dark, depraved, and downright unhinged. Just when I thought I had the story figured out, she threw another twist my way, and some of them had me genuinely gasping. The suspense woven throughout the story kept me completely hooked, and the emotional moments hit just as hard as the shocking ones.
One thing Tiffany consistently does so well is write characters that feel real beneath all the chaos. She writes in a way that allows you to see pieces of yourself in her characters and their struggles, making it impossible not to connect with them. When Ashlynn and Karson were angry, I was angry. When they were hurting, I felt it right along with them.
I cannot wait to see where the Shadows of Perdition series takes us next in book three. 🖤
Descriptive raw chaos at its finest! Dark Realism and relatable humor make Karson and Ashlynn such a dynamic pair. Although a standalone while being book 2 in the Shadows of Perdition series, this is a winner by far!
What hooked me most was how every major character was woven into the chaos, secrets, and nonstop action that kept the story moving at full speed. The mystery constantly unfolds with twist after twist, making it impossible to put down the book down. Then there’s Karson and Ashlynn, their chemistry absolutely crackles off the page. He’s possessive, dangerously unhinged, and impossible to ignore, while she’s fiery, sharp-tongued, and more than capable of matching his chaos. The spice is intense (4🌶️) and perfectly written, adding even more tension without ever taking away from the action-packed plot. Every moment feels explosive, balanced, and utterly addictive. Bound by mutual companions and a tangled past left unresolved, the two are thrown back together dealing with murder, mayhem, and dark secrets waiting to unravel.
For lovers of dark intense romances full of possessive and stalker MMCs with touch her and die vibes, this is a must read for you!
Tiffany White has done it again! An amazing book with two really awesome main characters and some side characters I'm seriously hoping will get their own story 👀
This story follows Ashlynn, a foster kid who was adopted, and Karson, another foster who aged out of the system. They were in the same home at one point and honestly Karson was so sweet to her. Their story is dark, gritty and messy. It highlights failures in the system that is supposed to help kids and honestly the plot on this one 😮💨 it took unexpected turns that had me reeling!!!
Karson is a seriously ruthless MMC and lives up to the touch her and die trope! He is also so protective of Ashlynn, and one things for sure, he has strong instincts!
Ashlynn is angry and annoyed at first, but once she realizes the truth, she is all in. I don't want to give this story away because it deserves to be read by everyone but it is a really good one!
If you haven't read book 1 in the Shadows of Perdition series, now is the time before this one drops!
Absolutely loved Maverick and Parker but I’m obsessed with Karson and Ashlynn!! From chapter one I knew they were going to put me through it🤭 (in the best way) I was immediately drawn into their story and wanting to know more about their past as more clues were coming up. I feel like my jaw dropped so many times while reading, Tiff knows how to keep you guessing. Karson is everything we love in dark romance MMC.
Stalking? ✅ Touch her & 💀? ✅ OTT? ✅✅✅
My kind of book boyfriend 🤭
And adored Ashlynn, she’s fiery and stands her ground… for as long as she can 😆 the hate to love is shown beautifully. “Taste how much you hate me.” I mean… 🥵
Also the spice be spicin… 🫠😮💨🤭
And of course we get Maverick and Parker 🥹
Loved the plot and everything just flows and keeps you engaged. That doesn’t always happen and I love that.
ARC READ I LOVED LOVED LOVED this book! Karson and Ashlynn’s story had me crying and shows the true definition of fate. Karson may be a little on the cuckoo side, but he has that golden retriever , give no fucks energy. He’s devoted to protect his little found family but one day fate decided to throw him a little curveball. Enter Ashlynn, the Fiesty redheaded bartender who doesn’t want to rely on anyone or thinks she needs anyone besides her best friend Parker, until one day she sees someone come into the bar she works and she’s immediately thrown back into the past just seeing those beautiful silver eyes and cocky smile. If you loved Affliction, the banter between Ashlynn and Karson is phenomenal in Torment. The plot will have you crying, laughing and swooning all at the same time. I love a good childhood friends to enemies story and this book did not disappoint!! And the spice 🥵🥵🥵.
Book two was everything I needed from Karson and Ashlynn 😭 ughhh they wayyy he always had her back!!! I love these two so muchhhhh!! I don't know how you do it Tiffany but they way this story is unfolding and the twist and turns are genius!!! I love how everything had me on the edge of my sit wondering who was the enemy and also the ending has me needing book 3 sooner rather than later!!! I loveeee how finally these two can be happy and safe with eachother 💓 Both of them had really sad childhoods but damn there was something that Karson said about his when he never bonded with anyone as a baby and that broke my heart 💔 Obsessed with these two!!!!! Amazingggg story!!!! Thank you for this opportunity Tiffany and team!!
Where do I even start?!? Tiffany did it again with book 2!! I loved every second of it! The roller coaster emotions I was feeling to the wtf moments; Torment sucked me in!! I loved Karsons and Ashlynn’s storyline… I’m a sucker for friends turned hate to love! I feel in love with these characters so much; Karson knows what he wants and will do no matter what to get it! Ashlynn is black cat, feisty, and so damn strong. The things Ashlynn went through my heart just ached for her, and Karson was always there whether in the shadows or by her side! I love how he was this big bad guy, but he would turn soft just for her. I loved seeing Maverick and Parker again, and I can’t wait for to see what Tiffany has in store for us next!!! I would recommend this book so hard!
I would like to say thank you to Tiffany for allowing to read this as an ARC! I’m really bad at reviews but ima try my best!
This for sure is ♾️/⭐️ I truly loved this book! I absolutely love Ashlyn and Karsons dynamic and the history between them. This book was beautiful in so many ways I can’t explain. You’ll just have to read it to understand I don’t make the rules 😂 I just want to wrap them in a bubble and keep them safe! I thought Affirmation was an on the edge of your seat kinda book but BABY when I tell you I could even find a seat with this one! I truly didn’t know what was going to happen next!
I am obsessed with Karson! I read this book in one sitting! I absolutely loved Maverick in Affliction so once I saw this was another stalker romance, I had to read it! Torment does not disappoint. Ashlynn is Karson’s “Terror/Doll/Dolly”. 😈🖤
🖤 Dark Stalker Romance 🖤 Pierced MMC 🖤 Feisty FMC 🖤 He gives hand necklaces 🖤 He drops to one knee and puts her heels on for her 🖤 Good fucking girl 🖤 He’s unhinged 😏 🖤 He stalks her heavily 🖤 He ties her to his bed 🖤 Hate to Love 🖤 Second Chance 🖤 Forced Proximity 🖤 OTT Obsession/Possession/Stalking 🖤 Touch her and 💀 literally
Before you dive into this amazing story, go ahead and read Affliction. You really felt for Ashlynn and what she went through. She was not the nicest person to Karson, but he didn't care. The back and forth between them was so good, she just didn't want to be near him at all. But he wanted her all to himself and was very protective. I loved the action, secrets, and so many twists! It was just a page turner and I didn't want to stop. I felt the emotions of the characters and that's just amazing writing. I can't wait for Tiffany's next one!
I knew from the beginning of Affliction that I was going to love Karson, but since finishing his story I cannot help but fall madly in love with Karson. The way he loves Ashlynn with such passion reminds me of my own love story.
Their story is one that’ll live forever in my heart for the rest of my life! Tiffany has easily become my favorite author! 🖤
First I just want to say that if you haven't read book 1 - Affliction - I would recommend reading it first as there's back story that will help when reading Torment.
I don't even know how to put into words what I've read here. It was so good. It had plot, it had spice, it had twists... OMG THE TWISTS!!! I did not see that coming at all!! The ending was perfect, Im so glad that they got the HEA <3 they both deserve the world <3
Tiffany has done it again!!! The way this book had me in a chokehold from the very first page all the way until the end and left me wanting more!!! I have read this book twice already and each time gets better and better. I can't wait for the next installment in this series! Hands down one of the best books I have read all year!!!
This book has easily became my absolute favorite, the PLOT TWISTS OMG! I ate this book in two days.. I gave this book 5 stars after the first chapter lol!
Karson has always been my favorite and this book just amplified that. Karson and Ashlynn were EVERYTHING and more! The ending 😭😭😭
If iI could rate it 10 Stars I would. This book was amazing, it had twists and turns, a kidnapping or two, had me laughing and crying. I would say it a million times if I could but Tiffany is amazing!!
What an amazing story. What an addition to the series! I am so excited for whatever comes next! This story kept me hanging onto everything I thought I knew. I skipped the triggers cuz let's be honest I love going in blind to see how I react
Karson Fing Tate! He is scrumptious, and I love him.
Tiffany did it again with another banger! Making me cry and yell at her about all the things, while debating with friends over certain scenes! If you loved Affliction, you will love Torment more. Tiffany's an insta buy author for me!
HOLY SHIT. ♾️⭐️ This book was EVERYTHING! I loved Karson in book 1, so I already knew I was going to love his book, but this completely blew me away. I’m obsessed! Karson & Ashlynn will FOREVER live in my head. I love their story so much 😭♥️
If only 6 stars was an option this book would be getting them. From the moment Karson and Ashlynn were introduced in Affliction I was desperate for their story and Tiff definitely didn’t let me down. Was I in love with Maverick in book 1? Yes. But I am obsessed with Karson. I’m not sure what Tiffany White puts in her writing that makes me so addicted I cannot put the book down. The spice is there (and hot) but the plot keeps you gripped the whole way through. It has me in an absolute chokehold. Absolutely no surprise this had me in tears and holding my breath at the same time. The twists and turns throughout? Perfect.
If you haven't read Affliction, I definitely recommend doing that before diving into Torment. It's got backstory that will make Torment a much better read. I love Karson and Ashlynn. Their story will also bring some tears because of the trauma that the system did to them. Karson has a sense of humor especially when it comes to his best friends wife and it will make you crack a laugh. But he isn't one to mess with when it comes to his girl. Ashlynn's story is sad and you get pieces at a time before finding out the whole thing and it breaks my heart. The injustice of what she goes through. And it makes me mad that she displaces her hate onto Karson for a bit but he doesn't give up. They are meant to be together. And it's nice to see Parker and Mav right there along side them through it all.
Karson is a 10, but he's unhinged and holds her over the balcony of the penthouse, but he'd also burn the world down for her. Ashlynn wants to hate him for leaving her when they were kids in the foster system, but he's not letting her go now that he has her back in his sites! This is book 2 in the series and I'm still obsessed with all these characters. Tiffany may be a debut writer but she tells stories that hook you from the very first page.
I had the absolute pleasure of reading this as an ARC. Perfection, Plot Twist, and Redemption! Just a few words to describe the masterpiece that is Torment. It gives you the backstory of Karson and Ashlynn and when I say this book will wrap you up and keep you on the edge of your seat with your heart beating wildly in your chest take that as your warning. Karson is extremely protective over Ashlynn and rightfully so when you learn the history between them. While he is her shadow she remains protected even when she wants him gone. But when these two come together, the fireworks are out of this world. Another piece of literary perfection that will live with me rent free.
