Double Conviction by David Archer is a fast-paced legal thriller centered around attorney Ben Carter, a defense lawyer known for taking difficult cases that others avoid. The story begins when Carter becomes involved in a case that at first seems straightforward but quickly turns into something much more dangerous. A man accused of a serious crime insists he has been framed, and Ben starts uncovering evidence that points toward corruption within the legal system itself. As he digs deeper, he realizes powerful people are manipulating the case and hiding information to protect themselves.
Throughout the novel, Ben struggles with the pressure of defending someone society already believes is guilty. He faces threats, intimidation, and constant obstacles while trying to uncover the truth. The investigation leads him through hidden connections between law enforcement, politics, and organized crime, showing how justice can sometimes be influenced by power and money instead of facts. The title Double Conviction reflects both the legal battle and the personal burden Ben carries as he fights to prove innocence while also questioning how trustworthy the justice system really is.
The book builds suspense through courtroom scenes, unexpected twists, and dangerous confrontations outside the courtroom.
