CAN THE CREW MEMBERS OF THE HORIZON PROVE THEIR FIRST SUCCESS WASN'T A FLUKE
4/03/26 Review: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hamish's Point: Graduation Day Book 2 by John Walker is a well-written second addition to the Graduation Day series that will either prove the crew members of the Horizon have the proficiency and the courage to work on black ops for the military until they are needed to take the head of the spear to defend the Terrans from the Velarans all the while learning to successfully use their newly acquired alien technology.
John has brought the cast of characters to life upon the pages that you'll be hooked from the beginning to see how Elias, Tara, Rafe, Nora, Rebecca, and Tanner deal with the situations they find themselves in as newly commissioned navy officers aboard the Horizon along with the new characters on Hamish's Point that add even more depth to the storyline. It's humorous as hell in more than just a few places with the interaction between the crew of the Horizon as well as between the crew and their detainees while their are being interrogated. He has also written this fast paced, action-packed book with just enough mystery to be intriguing and hold your interest throughout and once you've finished this second book in this series you'll be craving the release of the third book. Thankfully, John's a master at turning out books as fast as possible without sacrificing content and quality.
Hamish’s Point by John Walker is the follow-up to Graduation Day, but it feels like a lower-budget continuation of a high-budget sci-fi pilot. It drags along at a slow pace and the first half reads like an uninspired episode, making it less engaging than the first book.
That said, there are glimpses of something surreal and intriguing, and I’m curious to see where the series goes next. For fans sticking with it, this book sets up some interesting possibilities.
