Ribbons Untied: Arco Alphas Part One

Rate this book
Here I was in a new city, sitting on the cold dance floor, about to start my first day at Arco Ballet Company. My nerves were doing pirouettes in my stomach, but this job would be my ticket to better companies.
The Arco pack was searching for their fated omega ballerina, but I didn’t care about alphas, omegas, or the Arco Pack’s ridiculous goal. I just wanted to dance, build my résumé, and move on. Simple.
Then I met my new Artistic Director, Demetrius Ivan. He smelled deliciously impossible to ignore. His whole pack did. But I’d been designated a beta my entire life, so when he called me an omega, I thought he was joking.
And when he told me I was their scent-match? Let’s just say my carefully choreographed plans unraveled fast.
Now I’m caught between ambition and instinct, career and craving—and four alphas who make it very, very hard to stay professional.
They’re a charmingly sexy pack... and apparently, I’m their omega.
Meet Ivy and the Arco Pack in this cozy, romantic, why-choose omegaverse full of laughter, longing, and lots of pointe shoes. This is the first part of a two part series.

I was really excited to start reading this book. Having the story revolving around ballet was really cool!! Sadly, a lot of the execution was off. The characters lacked depth and the POV switch’s were jarring. A lot of the characters over explained their feelings. It read like an internal dialogue that a character would have with oneself. The story wasn’t as engaging as I had hoped. If you’re new to the why choose genre, you may love this book . For those of us who have read many many MANY why choose stories…… you’ll probably want to pass.

This ballet omegaverse why choose would be a good pick for you if you would like a low conflict story with the vibes of the Ironside Academy series.

The characters were enjoyable in this, and I enjoyed reading the dance sections. I personally would have liked it to be a little bit less cozy, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Thank you to BookSirens and Indigo Maple for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

This omegaverse romance was so cozy and sweet. The cliffhanger ending wasn't something I threw my Kindle at the wall about, I just felt, "Yeah, I guess it's time to read part 2." The whole book felt very comfortable and gentle. It wasn't angsty, and that felt right given how the plot unfolded. Though I enjoyed the premise, the middle lagged a bit for me. There was less action and more character development. Not a bad thing but it did feel slower.

You can absolutely tell the author is a dancer. The way she writes movement made it so easy to imagine the choreography. I felt like I was watching it

The story follows Ivy, a designated beta dancer who joins a dance company owned by an alpha pack. Ivy quickly finds out she's an omega, and the Arco pack realizes she's their scent match. Ivy and the pack navigate dancing, company hierarchy and gossip, and more. All while figuring out if they can pull off what the guys have been waiting, wishing, and praying for: a scent-matched omega to take the Arco pack/dance company to new heights.

The spice is explicit but in a vanilla heat sort of way. No filth here. If you like gentle, sweet heat, I think you'll enjoy it.

A cozy, low-angst read for a nice weekend in.

The first book in the arco pack Duology Ribbons Untied caught my eyes for the OV & ballet world setting! I enjoyed a lot of things about this read; the late presenting omega trope, the elegance and glamour of the setting and some of the Alpha MMCs in particular. I do think however that writing a solid reverse harem with equal relationship development is really difficult to do! Indigo Maple does a decent job of it! If you’re less fussy about more deep feelings and more development than I doubt you’d notice it at all! Personally I felt like Ivy needed more flaws as a FMC & each of the Alphas needed a more distinct personality- Preston and Dem stood out to me more than Lukas and Isaac but I liked the four of them and Ivy as a pack. I was hoping for more of a slower burn but insta-love/lust works well within the context of the story. The pacing felt laggy to me too, at the 30% mark I felt like the plot didn’t really need to continue or maybe the stakes should have been higher and established earlier on.

Overall I’m not too sure if I’ll be reading the second book on the duology but there is lots to love about this book and I know it’ll find its audience 💜

3.5 stars. This Omegaverse book has everything you’d expect in a why-choose romance, with a strong focus on acceptance, love, and learning to trust the people who care about you. I did enjoy parts of this read, and I think the author did a good job balancing the main characters so that everyone had their moment.

However, the “pack” dynamics frustrated me at times. For a large portion of the book, it felt like they were already functioning as a pack but were only seeking an omega to complete it. Then, over time, that seemed to shift—but the intentions behind those changes weren’t always clearly explained, which made it hard to fully connect with their choices.

I also felt like some important information was missing. As someone who values character over plot, I wanted more backstory—about the characters themselves, their pasts, their families, and what shaped them. Without that, it was harder to feel fully invested.

Overall, this was a solid book, and I can definitely see fans of the genre loving it. It just wasn’t quite for me, and the ending, in particular, felt a bit random.

I was intrigued by the possible pack dynamics and the setting of a dance company, and wanted to support a new author. The quick POV jumps were a bit jarring at first, but I though it flowed quite well and I appreciated that while it was a bit insta-love, there was still a build up to the actual relationship(s) and that each MMC stood out in their own way. It doesn’t re-invent the OV wheel, but there’s a slice-of-life-ish feel to it that felt cozy and made for a nice palette cleanser in between heavier reads.

The character’s were lacking a bit of depth, but I think this will be expanded upon in the next book. This felt like a bit more of an introduction to the pack and their first interactions with Ivy.

That said, I think there should have been a content warning in the blurb about how part 2 will contain a bi-awakening. I didn’t realise this until I had downloaded the ARC, so decided I would just read part one as a standalone. So be aware going into it that there will be future MM content if that is/or isn’t your thing. Regardless, I do think this debut is worth the read and do look forward to seeing what the author writes next.

It’s not often I leave a 5-star review but I thoroughly enjoyed this ARC. I normally love OV books but wasn’t sure what this would be like due to its length and being part one of two. I was particularly worried about a third-act breakup which I’m happy to say didn’t happen. (I hope that’s not too much of a spoiler. I usually like to know if there’s one because I find they are over used to provide drama where it’s not necessary.)

I felt like the author fleshed out 5 main characters well, giving each of them distinct personalities. While there wasn’t much backstory, I didn't really feel like it detracted from the story.

I can’t think of anything I would change. I was worried it would be too long or drag at parts and I didn’t get that all.

While a two-part, the first book doesn’t end on much of a cliffhanger. Instead of a HEA it’s more of a HFN ending. I’m curious to see how the story continues.

Definitely recommend for anyone who likes OV or reverse harem books.

First of all, special thanks to Indigo Maple and BookSirens for allowing me to read this unique book as an E-ARC!

I literally lost my mind with this one. I was expecting a lot of cliches and cheesy moments; instead, I got a beautiful story written at a slow (but steady) pace that allowed me to understand their world fully and how everything works.

I am fascinated by the harmony the group has, and I must say it was not a simple love story, but rather one that shows us that, on many occasions, love can make us better people and better professionals.

I have to confess that my favorite boy is prince Preston, but the others don’t stay behind, Demetrius always so chivalrous, Luka with those sweet little dimples, and Isaac with that chaotic energy.

My favorite quotes:
- "I want what's best for you, and if that means you need space as you get used to this new situation, then that's fine! And if you need to pull a guy into a corner to make out with him a bit, I'm here for that too!"

- "I'm the lucky one here, I've got my prince who loves and cherishes me."

This was an outstanding book to read, especially if you love omegaverse romance! I’ve read other dance reverse harem romances before, but never one centered on ballet and never one that was an omegaverse. I was so excited when this one came to me!!

I can’t even imagine going through life thinking you are a beta and then BAM…you meet your scent matches and all of the sudden you are an omega. Absolutely lunacy!! I thought Ivy handled everything reasonably well with all things considered! And the Arco pack was outstanding!

I adored how each pack member gave Ivy a different sense of support. Dem was control and steadiness. Isaac was dominant and funny. Lukas was playful and kind. Preston was sweet and encouraging. The whole pack dynamic was great!!

Overall, a great story with cozy vibes. It does end on a small cliffhanger but nothing that might make you want to throw something! I’m definitely excited for part 2. I hope I don’t have to wait too long!!

An omega verse novel about ballet dancers immediately caught my eye, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. I do enjoy it when the FMC lives most of her life as a beta, and then one day, she's suddenly an omega. And the guys were instantly obsessed with her, but also willing to take things at her speed.

The only issue I had was that at first, it seemed like the guys only wanted her because she was an omega AND a dancer. They were so hung up on this idea of an alpha/omega dancing couple that they were only meeting with dancers who were omegas. I'm surprised the FMC didn't have more insecurities about getting injured and losing the pack.

But again, I did enjoy the story overall. There was a cliffhanger, but it's pretty mild, and plenty of spice.

My first Omegaverse in a long time, and I have high expectations for it. It is a ballet-related story, not that I know much about it, but the story itself appeals to me. It is about a young beta who wants to advance in ballet. She has moved for a new contract at Acro Ballet, led by the Alpha pack Acro, consisting of four alphas: Demetrius, the pack leader and Artistic Director; Isaac, the company's choreographer; Preston, the company's best male dancer; and Lucas, the company's media coordinator and photographer.

As a Beta, she expects to fade into the background and attract no attention from the leading pack. But when she meets the Alphas, it very quickly becomes clear that she is mistaken in that belief. They are convinced that Ivy is an Omega, specifically their scent-matched Omega. Which is very rare. She does not believe it at all, because she has been a Beta her entire adult life and neither wanted nor had to deal with omega-alpha dynamics.

In the span of a week, she goes from an ordinary beta to an omega who can accurately describe every scent, craves attention and touch, and is an emotional wreck. She doesn't know how to behave; she can no longer imagine her behavior from a week ago. She wants the alphas attention, touch, and compliments above all else.

I must say that, in the beginning, the MMC's seem to be interested in Ivy solely as a ballet dancer. For a world-famous omega-alpha couple, it is possible to mold ballet. That comes across the wrong way. Ivy is more than a ballet dancer. She is their scent-matched omega, a one in a million chance of finding her. And they criticize her for the performance.

Because of all the gossip in the company, they had decided to keep it a secret in the classroom for a while. Every woman naturally wants to be THE omega who steals the hearts of the alphas and stand in the spotlight in the ballet world. But keeping the secret doesn't go as planned. It soon becomes clear to everyone that Ivy has won the attention of the alphas. And the women are very toxic towards her. They even go so far as to try to ruin her career as a ballet dancer. But they didn't succeed, and the culprit was found. By the end of the book, most of the ladies are supporting Ivy.

They manage to create a solo with Preston and Ivy in four weeks. As expected, the show is a huge success. And the upcoming shows are already sold out. After the first show, Ivy isn't feeling very well. She feels off. And it doesn't take long before they realize she's going into heat. We go all the way to the nest, stripped bare and then…

THE BOOK STOPS! Grr.. terrible cliffhanger. I can't wait to see what's in store for everyone. I can't say I have a favorite MMC, but if I really have to, it would be Isaac. I love a bad boy and only soft for her 😍

The spice is present, and building up as well. But not really explicit. Nor is it too long and elaborate, as you might expect from Omegaverse. No slick that overflows, no rutting, no OM drama. It can be more extensive for me. Just as I am used to from Omegaverse.

Delightfully fluffy from the very first page. Our omega heroine stumbles into a pack of golden retriever alphas — the kind who trip over their own devotion and apologise after growling. The harem dynamic is warm and chaotic, with each MMC carved into his own distinct shape of good boy energy. The bullying subplot adds surprising bite: outsiders circling her, sharp-tongued and territorial, before the pack closes ranks like a wall of sunshine. The cube-world world-building is quietly inventive — nesting dens stacked into geometric warrens that somehow feel cosy. Overpowered on sweetness, a little light on angst, but utterly devourable. Perfect comfort read.

This is a book that though not original in how we see an OV book and group of men gathering a FMC and being a collective

More like this outlook this author took on what you'd consider typical and mage it her own so you had a a collection of.men and an idea for to bring them to life and with a combination of dance , which we all know next to the boyaquarium , tights are a top 2 sport.

But this widow is I've to watch and in very glad I was chosen to ARC this story and hope i get to do book two

This one ends in a cliffy, but it’s well worth the read. We get to follow Ivy who is a dancer and her joining the Arco Ballet Company. I hasn’t read an omegaverse story in a while and this one was a fun one to get back into the genre with. Ivy is a beta or at least she thought she was a beta who suddenly discovers that she’s a late emerging Omega. Loved that we get an FMC that’s learning about herself at a later stage than what is “traditional”. Her dynamics with the guys were entertaining to read.

A very sweet Omegaverse, this book is a delightful read.

I especially liked the fact that you learn everything about pack life and what it is like to be an Omega.

As far as I'm concerned, the spicy scenes could have had a bit more punch; for me, it was just a little too sappy.

A cliffhanger is never fun for a reader, but I am patiently waiting for the sequel.
I really want to know how their story ends.

Hr, omegaverse, scent match and ballet dancers!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed reading this book, but I don’t know how I feel about a second part. The story could easily finish the way this book finished and I wouldn’t mind!
I don’t think there’s any more development in the background or their relationship that would need a second part, but I don’t know how to read minds so the author may have prepared something mind blowing, we’ll see!

ARC reader review ☆
3.5 ☆

This was a very cozy and sweet read !
I absolutely loved the fact that all of the pack members are in the dance world and felt so real.
While the story didn't wow me it was easy to read and exactly what I wanted to read.
This cliffhanger is definitely the mildest I have seen in a while but it does makes me want to read book 2 ASAP !

Thankful to the author and Booksirens for the ARC

The Arco pack is a group of Alphas who are ballet dancers ( or ex ballet dancers/retired) searching for their omega ballerina.
Ivy is a beta who got in to their troop only to present as an omega when faced with the pack leader.
I really liked the book, its funny and witty and does a good job of someone being faced with a world they don't overly know ( omegas) It was fun reading about how they bond and fall together. And the cliff hanger... OOP.

So I read this and savored it so I took a little longer to finish than I usually do. This was my first book by Indigo Maple and it won’t be my last! Omegaverse where the fmc thinks she’s a beta but is actually an omega is absolutely one of my FAVORITES. Also the way this ended?!! Has me on my seat and ready to happily read the next one.

Not the cliffhanger!!

I knew it was coming but whyyy did it have to be there?! This book was such a sweet, cozy read. I love the characters and the relationships and seeing Ivy embrace her Omega side. I definitely don't think we've seen the last of OW drama from Adrienne though. I can't wait to see how things go in book 2!

This review is my own opinion given voluntarily as a thank you for receiving an advance copy.

ARC READ: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ribbons United was such a unique and satisfying read. The blend of omegaverse dynamics with the intensity and discipline of ballet felt fresh, and it really worked. The Arco pack completely pulled me in. I got so attached to their dynamic and the way they supported one another.

Ivy’s journey, especially her struggles with her designation change, was one of the strongest parts of the book. It felt honest and well-articulated, and it added real emotional weight to the story. On the flip side, the cattiness among the other dancers did get a bit frustrating at times; it felt a little overdone and pulled me out of the story here and there.

That said, the romance absolutely delivered. The spice hit a great balance, both wholesome and raunchy, making the relationships feel passionate without losing the emotional connection. Overall, this was a compelling mix of angst, growth, and heat, wrapped in a beautifully intense ballet setting.

Welcome to the Omegaverse that centers around a dance studio run by a pack. The themes of love, trust, and acceptance. I learned more about alpha and betas regarding their relationship. A quick enjoyable read. I enjoyed four different male personalities and their new hire. I was fortunate to receive an advanced reader copy via BookSirens and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

I absolutely adored this story! I was hooked from the beginning. I loved Ivy, I loved each of the guys. I enjoyed her getting used to herself with all her changes, as well as navigating getting to know the guys. I enjoyed each person's mental banter, as well as the banter and playfulness of the group. Enough steamy moments. A few scary things. Lots of beautiful! I can't wait for book two!

It took me a little while to get into the story, however I ended up being pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoyed the book overall.

The chemistry was great between our main characters and when you thought elements of the story were obvious, they weren't.

Looking forward to book 2.

If you know me at all, I very much rate based off of enjoyment and vibes. I am newer to the omegaverse genre, but I do seem to enjoy them and I enjoyed this one a lot. The author does a good job of establishing 5 main characters with distinct personalities which I enjoyed. There isn’t a lot of back story for each character and I would like to get more of that in part 2. Despite that, I was excited to keep reading and to learn more about them the entire time, and that is always a good read in my eyes.

Definitely recommend this book if you enjoy omegaverse, reverse harem, fated mates, and why choose type romance books! It’s spicy, it’s fun, and it’s sweet. I look forward to the next part and more reads from this author.
