The highest levels of power are in Victor's sights, as are the vilest of evils, in the penultimate installment of this epic dark-fantasy series.
Once, Victor Sandoval was just a boy from Tucson. Now, he's a powerful titan of war. After taking more than his share of glory, treasure, and enemy lives in gladiatorial combat, he would love to rest for a half-second. But deep down he knows he must continue to grow stronger in order to ascend to the ranks of the authority-wielding veil walkers. Even more importantly, his patron ancestor spirit needs him to do something—not as a mere living legend but as a true hero.
On the world of Dark Ember, humanity has fallen under the evil dominion of vampire lords—masters of death magic. In their domain, people exist only to serve their masters, either as slaves or as sustenance. And it's up to Victor to save them from unending darkness, facing off against every shape and form of the bloodthirsty undead imaginable in the process. His first major challenge will be one of those lords, a dreaded, immortal vampire who may or may not be a veil walker himself . . . Why can't this hero stuff ever be easy?
The eleventh volume of the hit LitRPG adventure series that's perfect for fans of Solo Leveling and Red Rising—with more than a million views on Royal Road—now available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook!
Tropes family honor, fight for freedom, and ancient evil.
This one is pretty much a book establishing a beachhead on a vampire world with a few encounters plus a whole lot of catching up with peeps he's been neglecting. I won't say it wasn't entertaining, because it was, but for the amount of true meat it actually has, I think I would have preferred a novel twice as long with some actual inroads on the planet. I like good long books and a slow burn is fine as long as something epic happens at the end.
This one just happens to be a loose thread coming back to get snipped. Which is fine. But it's not that epic. Alas.
Read via the author's Patreon page. Solid installment, but perhaps a touch less than the last few books. Part of that might be the polishing that this pre-release book has yet to go through.
Still, the author moves the plot along and meaningful things happen in the book. If you've made it this far in the series, it's worth a read. (Also, book 12 is the last book in the series)
Honestly worst installment imo and also knowing that the next book is the last it feels like it was just filler until that + also i feel like tge next book is not even close to victors journey so im interested to see how it ends but i expect to be disappointed
It seems like a lot of loose ends were tied up before a big culmination. There was even a little bit of an update on the characters from the falling with folded wings series. Can't wait to see what happens next.
This author only puts out first class content. I am surprised he hasn’t gotten a book deal with major publishers. Incredible story telling, amazing detail, great editing. All his books are solid. Victor is my favorite though. Keep it up bro.
