Paradise Comes With A Surprising Body Count...
Beneath The Blue, book 2 in the Jon Marzett series, starts with a body found in a mangrove swamp and escalates beyond anything expected. Despite the different setting and genre than Miller's apocalyptic post-EMP thrillers or science fiction titles, it still contains the ingeniously organized chaos that marks Miller's thoroughly enjoyable writing. Switching to a different genre marks Miller's capacity to produce remarkable quality and variety! Overall, 5/5 stars! Highly recommended to readers searching for a top quality crime thriller as well as anyone who who enjoys Miller's other works! Its not 'The Dark Road' or 'Durango Chronicles', but its every bit as good as any top name in the crime thriller category!

Sheriff Marzett investigates the murder of a young women. The medical examiner and the judge both say it was a boating accident and tell Jon it's a closed case. Jon is the sheriff and he decides when it is closed. This is not a simple murder case. Evidence leads him to someone the FBI has been tracking for a long time. More fun than knocking down a cartel!

I really enjoyed this book. I'm happy to see Max return for another installment of the series.
