Advanced copy review.

Claustrophobic, exhilarating, heart pounding!

Imagine waking up on the metal exam table in the morgue, not knowing who you are or how you got there! You get taken to a hospital setting type room. You find out there are no windows or doors to the outside world. You’re in an experimental facility built into the side of a large hill, what I pictured as Area 51.

This novel will unlock new fears!

Bleak, unsettling, and packed with paranoia, BLACKOUT keeps the tension simmering from start to finish. Jessica Turner crafts an eerie atmosphere where confusion and fear bleed into every page, making the story feel deeply unnerving in the best way. A chilling read that lingers long after the final chapter.

“Blackout” by Jessica Turner was such an intense, unputdownable read. From the very first page, it pulls you into a chilling and mysterious situation that only gets darker as the story unfolds.

The pacing is fast, the atmosphere is unsettling, and I was hooked the entire time. As secrets unravel and the true nature of the facility is revealed, the story dives into a much darker conspiracy than expected.

Gripping, suspenseful, and packed with tension, this was a great read I couldn’t put down.

It is about a man who wakes up in a morgue with no memory of who he is or how he got there. He comes to find out the reason behind it all is darker than he ever could have imagined.

This was a very enjoyable and suspenseful read! The main characters, nurse Hallie and patient 54, were very relatable. The doctors made the idea of ‘keep your mouth shut or else’ a very clear and persistent message throughout the storyline. In an age of “big brother,” this really makes you think twice!

The twists, turns and suspense really took me on a roller coaster ride! Every time I thought I had it figured out, Jessica Turner took a totally unexpected turn. If you like books that are well crafted, well paced and make you keep thinking about it beyond the final page, Blackout is worth the read!

I really enjoyed this book. The psychological detail into the trial and tests was fascinating. You are constantly on edge wondering who is going to survive and who wasn't. It evokes paranoia towards all the characters especially near the end where there was a constant suspicion of people's intentions. It was amazingly written and an extremely interesting read. A perfect mind twisting book about a hidden undercover medical trial with suspicious ambitions.

The book started off so well had me hooked from the first chapter. Really enjoyed the concept and what the author was trying to potray.

However the ending seemed a little too rushed and the whole middle was kind of a B grade movie dialogue.

Did wish there was more to tie up the ending a bit better but overall it was an enjoyable read.

Overall, this is a great story. Suspenseful, thrilling, not a typical HEA. Some actions and situations were not at all feasible or realistic, though. But that’s fleeting. It’s written in first person POV, which I love. There are multiple POVs and the chapters are not labeled with who is talking, though. So trying to figure out whose POV is daunting sometimes. #ARC

I’m weird and the cover drew me in. It had its thrills and secrets I couldn’t wait to uncover. I thought I knew where the author was taking it but to my surprise it was different and I couldn’t get enough. It got me in the feelings a couple of times, but if you’re looking for a good thriller mystery, I believe this is it.

3.5 rounded up to 4

I would say (in my opinion) this is more of a YA thriller. I found it easy to guess where it was going. Ive rated a little higher based off this.

It was easy to follow and a quick read, I think it was alright, but I've read alot in the genre and it was missing a little something for me.

I was lucky enough to recieve an advanced copy and am so thankful for it!
This novella is suspense-building for sure, but fast paced enough to keep you speed reading to the end. Every twist made me wonder what was coming next and it was never a disappointment.
If you enjoy medical themed thrillers, this is a great one.

One of my worst nightmares, waking up in a morgue not remembering how, why or who you are. This thriller will take you on a ride. Between drug trials, who to trust. Suspicion is strong and the twists will hold your breath.
Suspense, trills with action.

I had high hopes after all the great and high star reviews. This book wasn’t necessarily bad, but it’s definitely not on my top ten. I didn’t feel as drawn into the characters and towards the last few chapters, I was skimming the pages.
