Final Entry

An abandoned property with a dark history. A missing urban explorer who never made it out.
And a case that may be Sloane Merritt’s most chilling yet.

Private investigator Sloane Merritt has seen plenty of strange cases. But when famous urban explorer Matt Matthews disappears after hinting to his millions of followers he was about to uncover the most exciting location of his career, the trail goes cold almost immediately.

His final post teased something different.

Something bigger.

Somewhere out there—hidden among dozens of abandoned properties scattered outside Atlanta—was a location Matt believed would change everything.

Then he vanished.

No coordinates. No confirmed site. Just a digital breadcrumb trail pointing to forgotten buildings, buried records, and places no one has touched in decades.

And the only person sounding the alarm is a wealthy superfan named Orca—a woman convinced Matt is the love of her life, even though they’ve never met.

Now Sloane and her hacker friend Ash Patel must reconstruct Matt’s final days, racing to identify which of the countless abandoned sites he was heading toward… before it’s too late.

Because someone doesn’t want that place found.

The deeper Sloane digs, the stranger the case becomes.

Locals won’t talk. Records don’t line up. And every lead seems to point to properties with violent pasts—and secrets that were meant to stay buried.

Until one location begins to surface.

And if Sloane is right… it may be the most terrifying place Matt has ever explored.

Sloane doesn’t believe in ghosts. But she does believe someone is hiding the truth.

And whatever Matt found out there…

…he didn’t make it out.

Meanwhile, Sloane is closer than ever to confronting the man who may finally reveal what happened to her missing friend Eden Pike—even after receiving a chilling

STOP LOOKING FOR ME.

But Sloane Merritt has never stopped looking.

Book five in the Sloane Merritt Mystery Thriller series, FINAL ENTRY is perfect for fans of twisty, female-led mysteries, chilling settings, and missing persons cases where nothing is ever as it seems.

Final Entry

This book was given to me as an ARC here is my honest and voluntarily review. Ok I have been following this series this is book 5 Sloane continues to investigate what happened to her friend into eerie settings and psychological tension. She puts everything and love how her instincts drive the investigation. An influencer goes missing at a abandoned mansion with a dark past, and from the very beginning, the story pulls you in . The ending always gets me and now I have to wait for book 📕 6 😱.

When a popular social media influencer disappears without a trace, missing persons investigator Sloane Merritt is tasked with finding out what happened. As she digs deeper into the case, she uncovers secrets, unexpected connections and a trail of clues that lead her into increasingly dangerous territory.

I was so compelled by this book that I read it in just two days. It felt a little lighter in tone than MK Quinn’s previous books in the series, but it was still every bit as chilling.

I enjoyed the new characters, even if some of them were a little kooky, and I continue to love the relationships between Sloane, Theo and Ash. I particularly liked that this instalment focused more on the working relationship between Sloane and Ash. Their banter and teamwork make for such an entertaining dynamic, and it’s always a pleasure to read their scenes together.

Sloane remains determined to uncover what happened to her best friend Eden, who disappeared twenty years ago, and we finally get a few more pieces of that puzzle in this book.

Overall, a fantastic addition to the series, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

This is book 5 in the Sloane Merritt Missing Persons series. This book has 20 chapters and just like the other books, basically picks up where the last book ended.

I have to say OMG. I’m screaming over here. I LOVE this series!! It’s moving too slow for me! And I mean that in the best way possible. It’s killing me that there are only five books in this series so far! I wish there were 20, or 25 because I would be binge reading them every night! That’s a lot of exclamation points but I mean every one of them.

This book was amazing. The author did a FANTASTIC job of really putting the reader into the situation. I mean the Sanitarium was creepy as hell there is no doubt, but that one eyed doll at the other building….gives me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it. And that whisper Sloane heard, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

The Eden case - wow. Did not see that coming. I cannot wait to see what else they find as always, Ash is an amazing character and I can’t get enough of Theo. Have them get married and have babies already! Ok ok. I know that’s probably not how that’s going to end but I just love Theo for Sloane.

This series gets better with each book! I found the first book a month ago and I've quickly read through the entire series. I love this series! Every new book seems to become my favorite. The cases are always interesting and not just a "cookie cutter" type of story.

Sloane is still trying to figure out what happened to Eden. But while waiting for some test results, she takes a case where an urban explorer has gone missing. The story was really well done; it was so interesting. The descriptions of the scenery was amazing, bringing to life the story and the locations. It was really well written. I binged this book.

I love the characters. I was really happy that Ash was such a huge part of this book. I love that Sloane is so respectful in these cases; to me, that shows that the author has respect for this topic. I am so thankful to have received an advanced copy of this book; this series is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Sloane is hired by a "fan" (maybe obsessive, maybe stalker) to find Matt Matthews, a local social media explorer, who hasn't posted according to his regular schedule. Together with Ash and Theo work together to find him.

Also, Sloane is still looking into the disappearance of her friend, Eden Pike. With the latest clue she has received she is getter closer and closer to discovering the truth.

Love this series. There is the main search/rescue of a missing person which is always intense. Then there is the background investigation of looking for her friend who disappeared 20 years ago. These two storylines have not combined (perhaps they will). But I enjoy both storylines. Plus, Sloane is learning to have a boyfriend - someone who genuinely cares about her well bing and saftey and looks out for her.

I’m really enjoying this series, especially the growing relationship between Sloane and Theo and the evolving friendship between Sloane and Ash. I also love how fully committed Sloane is to solving her cases — this one included.
In Book 5 of this series, Sloane is asked to look into a missing influencer after one of his followers, who has never even met him, becomes convinced something is wrong. It’s an intriguing setup, and I enjoyed diving into the mystery.
That said, I’m starting to tire of the Eden storyline that keeps weaving through every book. In the beginning, it was a great hook that pulled me into the next several books, but at this point it feels more like a distraction than a compelling thread. I really hope the author doesn’t make us wait much longer for closure on that case. The continued dangling of just a few pages of Eden cost the book a star for me.

Thank you Book Sirens ARC for the advanced copy of the book and allowing me to give my honest review.

This is another satisfying continuation of the Sloane Merritt Missing Persons Thriller Series.

In "Final Entry," M.K. Quinn crafts a suspenseful mystery featuring Sloane Merritt, a seasoned investigator of missing persons. When popular social influencer Matt Matthews goes missing, Sloane is brought in to piece together the clues left behind. The plot skillfully delves into the complexities of online fame, exploring Matt’s carefully curated persona and the secrets hidden beneath the surface. Quinn’s crisp writing and well-paced narrative keep the tension high as Sloane navigates both the digital world and real-life clues. "Final Entry" is an engaging, contemporary thriller with a strong protagonist and a twisty, satisfying plot.

I look forward to reading more books in this series.

One of my favorite series. It follows a PI who got into the field because her best friend disappeared when she was a child. She has never gotten over it, so now, while working on that in the background, she specializes in finding missing people.

In this installment, Sloane is asked to find an internet influencer who posts about unusual spots around the country. One day, he goes missing, but no one except a super fan actually notices. With no family or close friends, she is the only one who starts the alarm and hires Sloane to find him. With her techie friend Ash, she starts tracing his last known steps. Little by little, the clues start to add up.

A great story line. Love the characters and their interactions. Thanks to BookSirens for the ARC of this book.

Here’s the thing. I get more and more suspicious with each installment in this series that the author may have had some artificial help. I don’t want to point fingers and if these are just mistakes, I’ll be relieved. I don’t want to support anyone who uses those types of programs. That being said, I don’t know for sure, I just have strong suspicions.

With all of that out of the way, this one is probably my least favorite in the series so far. The standalone story was okay and I didn’t get as much from sloane’s personal life as I wanted to. It’s still a solid book in the series, but I’m a strong believer that each book should get progressively better, and this one didn’t hit that benchmark for me.

Another wonderful story in the Sloane Merritt missing persons series. This story has a missing influencer and his biggest fan hiring Sloane to find him. The journey takes you down a very suspenseful trip in the investigation. More additions to the Eden missing person story from Sloane's past. This is a continuing great missing person investigation series. I am always look forward to the next book, so this is a recommended reason the book and the series. The characters are great and always add to the feel of the story.

This was a complimentary ARC from the author I reviewed voluntarily.

This was a very good book. It was about a private detective who is hired by a very unusual client to locate a missing urban explorer. There is also a secondary story about her investigating the disappearance of a missing childhood friend.

The story is easy to follow and has a nice flow to it. It is full of suspense that keeps the reader wondering what will happen next. The urban explorer mystery is nicely tied up at the end. A little more information is revealed about her missing childhood friend's case.

This is another in the Sloane Merritt series, which is a very good series.

I received a free advance reader copy of the book. The opinion that I express is my own.

You definitely need to read this series in order, as Final Entry dives straight back into the action where the previous book ended. This time, Sloane takes on a missing persons case for a very unusual client involving a lost urban explorer.

I loved seeing Ash take a more active role this time around, and the new breadcrumbs regarding Eden were exactly what I was hoping for. The paranormal elements were perfectly executed—interesting, eerie, and very easy to follow. I can't wait for the next one!

Sloane is a great character. As such, she makes Theo and Ash appear to be great characters also but we really don't know them like we know Sloane. What I would like to say about the ending, I cannot without giving away what you should earn by reading the book. This is an easy read with plenty of tension and scary stuff. You do not have to read the other books to enjoy this one but there is a certain amount of background you would get from reading them.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. 4.5 This may honestly be my favorite in the series so far. The combo of urban exploration and internet culture added to keeping me engaged. I like how the investigation unraveled without just relying on off the wall twists I find in many thrillers. For me the balance of tension and humor worked well. I felt uneasy but also enjoyed myself. I appreciate in this series how we learn more about her friend’s mystery along the way as she takes on the main mystery of each book.

This is the first book I have read from this author. I liked it so much I can't wait to read more. Sloane is like a hound dog with a bone, she does not give up when she has a missing person case. She does what ever it takes to find them. While dealing with her present case as a PI, she is still dealing with her past. It kind of shaped who she is now. I highly recommend this book to all readers who love thrillers.

Sloane gets hired to find a missing urban explorer who has disappeared a week before. Her search leads her to a very rural location with various creepy abandoned buildings.

I really enjoyed this. Ash finally gets out from behind her screen and joins Sloane in her quest so it was great to see her in a different environment. At the same time, there's a very interesting development in the Eden investigation that leaves me waiting with bated breath for the next book.

This is Book 5 in the series and I love it. Each book gives you another clue to solve the case of Sloan's best friend who went missing when they were teenagers. The main storyline is a new case of a missing person. I enjoy that each case is unique, and not the typical storyline. The characters are likeable and can't wait to see her relationships grow.

Great continuation of this story arc. Sloane is hired by an over-the-top rich woman who insists that a Tik Tok influencer is missing. With her brilliant computer friend Ash and police officer boyfriend Theo, they try to find out what is true and what is influencer-driven. Intense descriptions of geography and surroundings definitely made this reader feel the heat and creepy atmosphere. This was a great story. The fifth book in the Sloane Merritt Missing Persons thrillers does not disappoint. Sloane Merritt is a private investigator who has had her share of weird and unusual cases in the past and this one tops the cake. Matt Matthews is a famous explorer and has been telling everyone that he is about to make the discovery of a lifetime. That is until he goes missing.

Another enjoyable Sloane Merritt mystery, although I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the previous books.

The overarching storyline really picked up at the end of the previous book and I had hoped there would be more time spent on it in this book. The standalone story was ok, but didn’t keep me as gripped as previous ones.

The personal storyline also didn’t move along in this book. I would have loved to explore her relationship in more detail.

Overall another good story but I’d like more of the personal storyline to Sloane by this point in the series
