There were three things that carried great fear in Ariella’s heart.

The first, a long lasting worry, that she’d never escape a day of feeling the cold burn of her mother’s hatred. There were the days when Ariella was young, that her mother smiled, sang, laughed, and she had basked in the warmth of her love, but that was before her father died—before her mother lost her hearing and the light in her eyes.

Second, that her little brother, Anders, the only sunshine in her dark and lonely world, was losing his light, as well. Nightly, Ariella would awaken to Anders screams, and the heart-wrenching crying over terrifying dreams he swore to be real. His nightmares spiraled him into a paranoid state, until he grew suspicious of empty hallways in broad daylight.

And the third, but most concerning, was the possibility of her or her family disappearing, just as many had in their small town of Crescent City. The locals named him the Silent Killer. He came and took as he pleased, when he pleased, without warning—without a sound or bread crumb to track him, and over time, his greed became unquenchable.

Ariella was not aware of the attention her anxiety would cause, whose curiosity her fear would draw, how terror could begin a deadly dance of love she’d never intended to step into, and it festered until one of the dreaded three became reality.

Ariella Rowe had been abducted.

And the Silent Killer was far from human.

Eroded Ember has quickly become my new obsession!!!

With tropes of forbidden love, found family, and lots of hidden secrets, Bree writes an engaging story that captivates the reader. I couldn't put the book down, and when I had to, all I could think about was Eroded Ember and what was going to happen next. The story took me on an emotional rollercoaster and I was there for it.

The setting, the characters, the way she writes, I absolutely loved it all.

Eroded Ember is officially out, and it is every bit of atmospheric and heart-wrenching.

The chemistry between Arielle and Kiernan is truly invigorating. It’s a slow, deliberate build; their walls tear down bit by bit only until their raw, honest connection is left.

If you love beautifully, flawed characters and a romance that feels earned, this should be on your TBR! Hopefully there’s a sequel to this!

Thank you so much Bree for gifting me this eARC! All opinions are my own.

This book was absolutely amazing!

I started it with pretty high expectations because I'd heard so much about it online, but it exceeded those expectations for sure!

The romance was some of the best I've ever seen in a fantasy book! There was this beautiful example of love instead of lust between the main characters and I know they would go to the ends of the earth for each other.

I just absolutely cannot wait to read the sequal and whatever else this author writes! This book was truly magical ✨️

I loved the romantic aspect of this book, and the entire story was very unique. However, the ending felt a bit random, and non conclusive. I really enjoyed our main characters, but I wish there was more clarity

I absolutely flew through this book!
The realistic way that Ariella’s insecurities were portrayed, the small details and descriptive writing made me forget I was reading, along with the way that the fantasy elements mixed well with the modern day setting. Overall, I loved this book and would definitely recommend reading it!

I think somewhere within reading this book I fell back in love with the world of sirens I was obsessed with as a child. While dragons have always been my favourite mythical creature, sirens have always been a close second, so it was almost surreal to see my two favourite mythical creatures together in one story, something I have not seen before.
While I loved this read with every fibre of my being, I will say that the beginning was a bit confusing - but aren't all romantic-fantasy books? To add to this, that was probably my fault because I thought it was set in another world and not just Crescent City, California.
At one point I did find the plot was a bit slow but the creative world building and the love that the writing made me have for the characters made up for that. For me, this was definitely a fun read, even if it was quiet deep at some parts.
If I had to choose, my favourite character would definitely be Keagan, but the character development that came from Ariella was amazing and you could definitely see a positive difference from the start of the book. I loved the love interest - not going to name, because no spoilers here - but I would probably get with Kell myself, but that's just personal opinion and my horrible taste in fictional characters.
The plot twists had me on the edge of my seat as well as the cliff hangers, and I would definitely recommend to fans of y/a romantic-fantasy.

Overall, I believe this book deserves a 4.5 star rating.

Oh man, this was one ride of a book. This book left me staring at my wall for hours by how insane the twists had me.

I love character driven books, and this book sure did a good job at it, every character is written so, so well and i was able to connect with all of them. They're complex in their own way, and i've grown too attached to them already. I cannot wait to see more of all of them in the second book, which i will likely read too!

Ari and Anders sibling bond definitely was so awesome to see, the way they care for eachother was such a warm thing to witness, well the way ari shares her warmth with everyone makes it even better.

This book took me back to when i read lord of the rings for the first time, reading about the hobbits walking through the forests was one of my favourite things. So when i read this book, and saw how Ari and Kiernan had their late night walks through forests, It had me feeling like i was actually there, strolling on the beach, or in the forests. This was written so, so well that it almost felt real-

I love this world, the fantasy, the mystery and the love. It was awesome.

ARC READER REVIEW (No spoilers):
Where do I begin? … this was perfect. Done ✅ thank you for reading.
Jk jk 😂

This has become my favorite romantasy book of all times!! If I could give it 6 stars I would, because it was just great. The characters, and setting descriptions, the mystery and tension, the story… agh!! I can’t stop thinking about Ari and all of the things that happened to her.
I annotated this book as a crazy and I drew in almost every single page, all because I looooved Bree’s writing style, it’s so enchanting and beautiful, just as the storytelling. I literally could see all the stunning places and vibes in my mind.
So yeah, I totally recommend it to you 💙

Oh my goodness, I love this book! I was pulled in immediately and got completely lost in the story.

The characters were so well written, and I connected with every single one of them. Their personalities are all so distinct, and I have already grown so attached. As an older sister to a brother myself, I especially loved the sibling bond between Ari and Anders, it felt so real and full of heart.

I love the world and how it's a perfect mix of reality and fantasy and the worldbuilding and descriptions are simply incredible. The writing itself was just beautiful, very poetic and elegant.

The plot twists genuinely surprised me in the best way, keeping me on the edge of my seat and completely investing the whole time.

This book also reminded me of my love for dragons and mythical creatures, and they were written in a way that is unlike anything I've read before.

Definitely a five star read! I Already can't wait for the next book!

NO SPOILERS, just a rant

I was truly not expecting such a riveting story.

The way she connected with the forest was so intriguing from the beginning and how her fondess with it only grew.

After reading I am left with so much confusion I don't really know WHAT to believe.

Around the middle, trust was thrown around like a bean bag in a game of cornhole. It was thrown around so fast I couldn't even get a hold of it.

The ending just leaves me with further questions. Where will they end up? How will they endure what's surely bound to come? Who will be trustworthy? What kind of species is she truly, or is she actually what they say?

I truly don't know what to believe with the ending of this book, and I will just say I missed quite a few of the characters as it got further into the story.

I was given the immense honor of reading this book early as an ARC reader, and oh my goodness, it’s so good! This was actually my first read of 2026, and was an immediate 5-star start to the year! 🙌🏼

The writing is beautiful, I connected with the characters right away (my favorite is Keagan!), and the world-building is so fun. If you enjoy romantasy, this book is simply a must-read.

A few other things I loved, it’s spice-free (but still incredibly swoony!), no cussing, and the cover is simply stunning! 😍

Thank you, Bree, for letting me read an ARC of Eroded Ember. I hope the rest of the world falls in love with Ari and Kiernan’s story just like I did! 💜

This was such a great debut novel! The characters were perfectly complex and had such enjoyable and unique personalities. The setting was designed in such an amazing way and the writing style truly makes you believe you are there. The descriptions of the lush forest, stunning beach, and of course, the beautiful characters. The only complaints I have is that sometimes the dialogue feels a bit forced, as well as there are few grammatical errors, but not many, and of course that is to be expected in a self published novel. Overall this book was a joy and I can’t wait for the rest of the series!

I had a wonderful opportunity to read the Arc for this book, and I loved it! As someone new to fantasy, world-building is often confusing and something I struggle with, but the way the world in this story is built is immersive yet still easy to read. The inner thoughts of Ari add so much to her character, and I cannot wait to buy this book and finish the story!

Wow. This was a roller coaster.

Cry count: 5
Giggling Kicking my feet count: I stopped after 20

This book was the definition of a wild ride. It took me a while to get hooked on to (around 100 pages) but it was all worth it.
The character relationship building was fantastic, that is not an understatement. Even simple glimpses were written down to give the scene a feel. Speaking of feel, I felt as if I could taste the words on the pages and that felt insane.

As most books do, there was the occasional flaw.
The Scottish accents were written how they were said (yk?) and sometimes it took me a minute to understand.
When the perspective switched, it felt unclear for a moment due to no marking with a separate characters name.

Overall:
9.8/10 I loved this book and it really got me into mystical beings, super cool!
Thank you Bree Ireland for the ARC copy of this novel, and thank you for making one of my favourite reads this year!
