As the second book in the Harden Heights series, it centers on two people who seem completely incompatible on the surface but slowly discover there’s much more beneath their first impressions.
One of the biggest strengths of this book is the dynamic between the main characters. Their relationship develops naturally, balancing playful interactions with vulnerable moments that make the emotional payoff feel earned. The hero is a reformed bad boy trying to leave his reputation behind, while the heroine brings warmth, kindness, and confidence that challenge him in all the right ways.

June & Ford!! I instantly fell in love with these two! June is the sweet/ innocent girl next door vibe, while Ford is the bad boy exterior, playboy vibes, with an absolute soft spot for those he cares about! These two together gave so much tension, banter, and absolute chemistry!! They were fun, playful, but boy did they bring the heat with the spice!!
I loved the games, the family drama/ secrets, and the found family aspects in this book! This one had so much character development & growth, plenty of action that kept me sucked in, and the growth of romance between the main characters just had me giggling & swooning! Definitely one I will be recommending!!

Such a cute read! I loved watching Ford open up and fall for June, especially after seeing how he reacted to his brother falling in love in Ruin Me. I loved their humor and little quirks (the sourdough stepson 😂) Ford was the perfect funny, sarcastic MMC, and I loved how he helped June grow more confident in herself. I also enjoyed that the story had more than just romance with the added family drama. I’m so excited for the next book🤭

June and Ford are the two main characters in Kelsie Rae’s sophomore book in the Harden Heights series! Both of these characters seemingly have nothing in common yet they are both overcompensating in their own way for their perceived shortcomings. This is a slow burn in the most deliciously delivered way! Each narrator had to be chosen with the utmost care because they each slide in like butter - smooth and slick! The banter in this book makes it feel like you are standing in the crowd with each of the characters, like you could be a part of the group, even during the times when you wouldn’t want to be (and more importantly the times when you do!)
If you like a slow burn with a more experienced man who turns to mush over a woman, please choose this one. Might I implore you to delight yourself with the audio - it’s enough to bring out the smiles and laughter along with the butterflies!

Kelsie did it again! I just love her writing style and the way I connect with the characters. I feel like June is so similar to me so getting to read all about her love story was a fabulous adventure. I also love that Kelsie writes characters who have morals. Can’t wait for Lexie and Hawke!

Slow burns are my absolute favorite. Pair that with a very… “experienced” male main character, a curvy heroine, and an audiobook narrated by swoon-worthy voices, and I am sat for the day doing absolutely nothing except frothing at the mouth.
The moment I saw the narrator lineup, I knew this was going to be spectacular, and I was not disappointed. They didn’t just voice these characters, they brought every emotion to life, from chills and laughter to heartbreak and all the butterflies in between.
As for the story… it has so many layers. The banter is incredible. The tension is delicious. There’s an underlying aspect of suspense/mystery that keeps you hooked, characters you’ll absolutely love to hate, and a romance that delivers in every possible way. This book has it in spades. SPADES.
One of my favorite things is watching an author slowly unravel a character, and that’s exactly what happened with Ford Harden. He is the definition of a book boyfriend. Emotionally unavailable? Absolutely. But once you peel back those layers and discover why he is the way he is… good grief. My heart didn’t stand a chance.
I am completely in love with this story. I can’t believe how quickly I flew through it, and I’m genuinely sad it’s over. I already can’t wait to dive back into this world.

I don't know, I think maybe this book just wasn't for me.
To be fair, I did not read the first book with Violet & Jagger so I did not have the full understanding of the characters but I caught up.
The writing was very cringey and juvenile at times. June lacked a personality and I truly did not see the chemistry between her and Ford. I did enjoy the blacklight scene, but the first time they have sex is in a private room at a strip club that her friend works at??? Like that's basically when I reached a point of wanting to dnf but pushed through because I'm stubborn.
Also what is with the very strange almost incest-like relationship between Lexie & her brother Ethan? Like he hangs out at the strip club she works at??? Well so does the uncle considering he owns the club himself. Sooooooo freaking weird.
Colbie was also annoying and immature. Just saying. Very pick-me with the "my brothers let me get away with murder" bullshit.
Do I regret reading this? Not exactly. Will I read the rest of the books in the series. Absolutely not. Will I read another book by this author? Probably not.

Ford and June, June and Jeep…. Oh what can I say about this book!?!?
I didn’t think it was possible for Jagger to be knocked out of my favorite Kelsie Rae character book boyfriend, but when I say Ford Harden is top tier, I mean he is top tier, chefs kiss, my favorite KR book boyfriend.
This book was everything I hoped it could be and I still want more! Definitely will reread very soon.
Our girl June, sweet, innocent, southern belle, sourdough making queen, has Ford, sarcastic, smart, mouthy, racing king wrapped around her finger from the beginning of this book. He tutors her, praises her, takes care of her, and worships the ground she walks on. She teaches him how to love, how to open up, and is so patient with his feelings she’s willing to accept whatever he is willing to give. The character growth is incredible between both of them. I think they have become one of my favorite character couples ever.
Ford will protect those he loves, and June quickly becomes one of those he loves.
This book has all the things, banter, sass, spice, romance, love, found family.
I seriously cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

She knows his reputation and let’s just say she’s not interested in being someone’s play-toy. But when she starts to see glimpses of who the real Ford Harden is, she can’t stop her heart from betraying her.

Ford Harden doesn’t do relationships. Hell he doesn’t even let girls stay the night. And when he meets June for the first time, he can’t help finding amusement in making her squirm. He knows he should let June be happy with her fireman non boyfriend and not ruin her innocence. The one she’s caught glimpses of. And that’s the reason she sticks by Ford. Even when she knows he’s noncommittal. Will she get her heart broken? Or will Ford finally let someone in after years of feeling unworthy?

Yall ain’t ready for Ford and June to make you blush! This is an opposites attract slow burn steamy romance book with darker familial backstories and shady business dealings. The spicy scenes in this book are just *chefs kiss* and enough to make a girl feel all hot and bothered.

Kelsie has done a phenomenal job of continuing book one’s ongoing storyline while keeping the focus on our two main characters. And these characters? You feel like you know them. Like you’re a part of their circle and that they’ll have your backs no matter what. Having June as a curvy girl (and I’m not just talking big booty and all that. She Thicccc!) really hits close to home. It’s so refreshing reading about a man not only obsessed but also appreciative of a thicker body. And the way Kelsie wrote it just makes you fall for Ford Harden.

If Ruin Me hooked me, Resist Me completely reeled me in. Kelsie Rae somehow took everything I loved about the first book and turned it up another notch, delivering a romance that had me laughing, swooning, and gasping.
Ford Harden absolutely stole the show. His wit, sarcasm, and effortless charm had me grinning from the very beginning. He's the kind of hero who always has a clever comeback ready, but beneath the confidence and billionaire swagger is a man carrying far more than he lets the world see. Watching those layers slowly peel back was one of my favorite parts of the story.
And June? She was the perfect match for him. She's relatable, funny, hardworking, and never lets Ford's money or reputation intimidate her. Their chemistry is undeniable, but it's the banter that truly shines. Every conversation felt natural, playful, and packed with tension, making their relationship impossible not to root for.
Just when I thought I had the story figured out, Kelsie Rae reminded me why she's so good at keeping readers guessing. The plot twists genuinely caught me off guard, adding suspense without ever overshadowing the romance. Every reveal raised the stakes and made it even harder to put the book down.
I also loved getting to spend more time in the world of Harden Heights. Seeing familiar faces while continuing to expand this universe makes every book feel like coming home, and I already can't wait to see where the rest of the series takes us.

Just when I thought I had the story figured out, Kelsie Rae reminded me why she's so good at keeping readers guessing. The plot twists genuinely caught me off guard, adding suspense without ever overshadowing the romance. Every reveal raised the stakes and made it even harder to put the book down.
I also loved getting to spend more time in the world of Harden Heights. Seeing familiar faces while continuing to expand this universe makes every book feel like coming home, and I already can't wait to see where the rest of the series takes us.
Resist Me is funny, emotional, swoony, and full of heart. Between Ford's sarcastic one-liners, June's authenticity, the unforgettable chemistry, and the twists I never saw coming, this was another amazing book by Kelsie Rae.

I am not surprised K. Rae has wrote another 5 star banger in my eyes.. because honestly the girl can do no wrong on this side of the book space.
Resist Me is Ford & June Bug's story. The youngest brother in the Harden family trio. June is Violets best friend. I may be a little partial to her because she is a dental assistant, aspiring to be a dental hygienist- but, that's not here or there.
Ford is the playboy of all playboys. Until June gives him a run for his money. At first she isn't sure if she should take his flirting seriously because well- he flirts with EVERYONE.. but when she gets a firefighter boyfriend Ford realizes he better shoot his shot or back off. It was really nice to see Kelsie break down Ford's walls and allow him to not feel like he was "to much". In the story she lets us see how BIG Ford's personality is- and just how much he uses it as a shield.
Can we talk about the Curvy FMC of it all?! The author didn't make this a "cringe" curvy FMC book. June knew she had curves and although she didn't "flaunt" them- there wasn't a lot of "poor me" energy and she was really giving vibes of - I am who I am. This is the second book in the series, and I hate to say that this one fell a little flat for me.
My biggest issue was the romance. It felt a bit forced, and I just didn’t feel much chemistry between the characters. I also thought the writing came across a little immature at times, especially considering the characters’ ages, and that was probably my biggest complaint.
I also felt like June was a fairly surface level character. I never felt like we really got to know her, although it’s possible the intention was to focus more on the Harden brothers than on the FMC.
That said, I did enjoy the twist at the end. It did make sense once everything came together, but it still managed to catch me off guard, which I always appreciate.
I still love Kelsie Rae as an author, and I’ve really enjoyed several of her other books. I just think I’ll wait until the series is complete before picking up the next book.

Kelsie Rae never disappoints when it comes to her small town romances. This author’s stories are what brought me back to reading/listening several years ago and I’m forever grateful. Once again this story is nothing short of amazing and another successful Harden Heights book. I love the perfect blend of romance, tension, and humor this story brought to the table. June and Ford are the most perfectly imperfect duo. They compliment each other and bring out one another’s best attributes. The chemistry is easy going and natural. I loved reading/listening to each of their inner monologues because of how much their personalities came through to make them some of the most lovable characters in this series! Let’s not forget the sizzling spice between these two cause dang that was hot! Wowza! I can’t wait to see where the rest of this series goes! Multicast narration by Dani Soleil, Ryan Pierson, Ava Monroe, Vanessa Moyen, Zach Lazar Hoffman, E.M. Wylde, Cary Hite, and Skye Lark. Each of these narrators brought their own original spin to their characters and made this immersive reading experience entertaining and delightful. I can’t wait to hear more from this group together and individually! Thank you Kelsie Rae and Dark Star Romance for the opportunities to have both the ARC and ALC!

Vibes were soooo good. Those two gave so much tension, banter, and chemistry that they had me giggling and swooning! I enjoyed the games, family drama, and found family aspects of the book. There was a lot of character development and growth, action, and romance to keep things entertained. I cannot wait for the next book!

Kelsie Rae has done it again. I swear I inhale her books at this point, and this one was no different. I was hooked from page one and could not put it down.
Between the games, the family drama, the secrets, and the Ford and June tension… I’m obsessed. I loved getting a whole new side of Ford. In book one he was all humor and chaos, and we still got that here, but we also got the soft, vulnerable, down bad version of him and I ate it up.
June was perfect for him. She pushed him, grounded him, kept him on his toes, and was so patient with him. Their chemistry was unreal. The tension, the banter, the sweetness all of it. And their character development was chef’s kiss.

The found family vibes, protective hero moments, and all the sweet praise made this one so easy to fall into. The multicast narration was fantastic—every narrator brought the characters to life and made the story even more immersive.

I received the alc for my review. This book was good. I wasn’t bored or irritated with the main characters like I was with the previous one in the series. I do think it had a lot to do with the narrators. Anytime the narrator for Jagger or Rome spoke, I was anxiously waiting for them to stop. I am not sure which narrator/narrators that voice act for those characters, but I don’t care for it. Very much like my review for Ruin Me, they removed me too much from the story and I just didn’t feel like they were a good fit.
As far as the story line, I enjoyed it. I adored the way Ford was with June. The auction was entertaining, and the Harden Nights events were fun and creative. I think I’d like to continue the series, but not on audio. I do love Kelsey Rae’s Don’t Let Me series, so I know it’s the male narrators I just don’t vibe with.

Okay, this was FUN. The tension, the banter, the chemistry… all of it worked for me. I love a book where you can feel the pull between two characters even while they’re actively trying to fight it, and this absolutely delivered on that.
It was funny, spicy, and had just enough emotion underneath it to make me actually care about them beyond the romance. I flew through it and genuinely did not want to put it down.
