Overall this was an emotional romance filled with angst and drama. Sophie was thrilled when she got the job as Graham Weston's assistant. The extra income would help in helping pay family medical bills. She was the protector who always took care of everyone else and put her family first. There was an obvious pull between her and her new boss Graham, but they kept everything professional. Both had a lot of emotional baggage. Things get dicey when unfounded rumors start surfacing about them and the board gets nervous. Both characters are likable but their dialogue just drags and drags. I find myself pulling for them, but it seems like it goes on forever. More drama with the board who's unreasonable after she quits and they don't want him to entertain any relationship with her. What happens when they want him to go overseas for a year? Lots of finding themselves and no shortage of emotion. Eventually an HEA and no cliffhanger. The storyline of the book is good and I like the characters, but IMO, condensing the dialogue would have made the book a more enjoyable read. Initially, I would have said this book was too long, but it is a beautiful story of two people who fought through their differences and roadblocks.
Sophie and Graham initially tried to ignore their attraction. But of course, they could not deny it to themselves.

As they worked through their differences and Graham thawed out from the seemingly cold, and indifferent man he projected, their love story emerged.
They became intentional in their relationship and of course they got their happily ever after.

Thank you Lexi for another great book. This book is about Sophie and Graham. They chemistry they both have for each other. The walls they have both built up to stop other people from hurting them. Sophie is always protecting herself and wont let other help her. She's always done things for other people. Graham has been hurt before. He doesnt let anybody in. He doesnt know what love feels like and is scared of letting anybody get close to him can the pair find a way to act on the chemistry and just give in to each other. You will have to read this book to find out! I highly recommend it.

This workplace romance starts off slow but builds as the pages turns. Graham is the CEO a powerful man that has high expectations. Sophie was only supposed to be his assistant, but close proximity has more than work building between them. It is a heartwarming story filled with charming banter that kept me glued to the pages and the characters.

A very deep story that is Sophie and Graham’s life. Choices, chances, running and being seen! Is life a linear matter or is it curvy and constantly throwing curveballs? Throw in high pressure jobs and family expectations and you have the intensity of this book.

I've never DNF'd a book or even thought about it before this. It was hit or miss at 30% in and again at 65%. Overall the story was good, however it could have been shortened by 50%. At times it was hard to tell whose family was whose and whose perspective we were seeing.

This romance book is a slow paced but awesome romance book to read by Lexi. Sophie and Graham held my attention from start to finish. I could not turn my kindle off until I had finished the entire book. I was utterly captivated reading this awesome 5-star romance book.
