Enjoy this Contemporary Small Town Sleuthing Couple Murder Mystery
When a body is found in the burned-out remains of a derelict house on the outskirts of town, Father Tom and Helen must find out who he was and who wanted him dead.
The Engulfed Eyesore is the twenty-seventh novel in The Mercy and Justice Mysteries, a contemporary small town mystery series. The series is a sequel to The Father Tom Mysteries that began with The Penitent Priest and includes the same cast of characters. It features Father Tom Greer, a Catholic Priest who is also an amateur sleuth in the tradition of Father Brown, and his wife Helen Greer, female Chief of Police and detective in the tradition of Kinsey Millhone.
Another unputdownable book in the Justice and Mercy series! When a body is found in the old abandoned Campbell house (which was set ablaze in a training exercise by the Myerton Fire Department), Police Chief Helen Greer and her amateur detective husband, Father Tom Greer, are on the case. Things become even more complicated when a second body is found on the premises. Whose bodies are they, and what happened to them? Find out the answers to those questions by reading this intriguing book, which I highly recommend to other mystery readers. I received an ARC of this book, and the opinion expressed is strictly my own.
A very good read! I thought I knew more about the situation than I did, and I appreciated the twists and turns of the story. The “Mercy and Justice” series has not become stale or rote. I look forward to each new book, and am delighted to see several future releases. Thank you!
Father Tom Greer and his wife, Helen, the Chief of Police, have another intriguing mystery to solve.
The Myerton Fire Department was finally approved to perform a controlled burn/training exercise on an old, abandoned home, which has been an eyesore for the town for many years. Everything seems to go as planned until a body is discovered in the burned building. To make matters worse, a second body is found soon afterward. Many questions arise - whose bodies are these? Was the fire chief negligent in his initial inspection of the house? Were these murders?
I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book and reading on to find the answers to these questions. You won't regret it!
