A DRAGON'S LOVE IS ETERNAL !!!
Wow! I absolutely love it! The Dragon Rules Part 1 is the first installment of the powerful new series, Kearney Dragons by New York Times and USA Today best selling author Michele Bardsley. And she does not disappoint! Bardsley has dazzled her readers yet again with another example of her amazing talent, boundless imagination, incredible skill and unique style. She never fails to tease, tantalize and entertain her readers and she does that in spades in this explosive first installment. And as always she left me entertained, breathless and wanting more! I do love her work! The story is exciting, thrilling, modern, compelling, imaginative, powerful, enticing, romantic, arousing and sensual. The dialog is smart, intelligent, well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging, believable and sexy. Bardsley expertly combines these elements to completely envelop her readers in a web of magic and a world of fantasy. I was totally enthralled. Aiden Kearney has chosen her, Shannon Bram to receive the coveted Kearney Grant to excavate on the family's Irish lands. She simply cannot understand why she has been chosen. Out of the one thousand eight hundred applicants, she undoubtedly is the least qualified, certainly the least experienced and should have been the last considered. But for her, this is a dream come true and she intends to make the most of it. Kearney may be reclusive and mysterious and his invitation and message was certainly puzzling but she's not going to pass on this opportunity. Historical archaeology has always been her true passion. She has always been fascinated with the supposed fiery rule of Aillen mac Kearney, half man and half dragon and the legend of the courageous maiden, Cliona who tamed the savage beast. Unfortunately, no one in the archaeological field believes in the legend. But Shannon believes and she desperately wants this chance to investigate the legend of the dragon of Clonakilty. But what she couldn't know is not only the legend most definitely true but she is the key to an eight hundred year old mystery and a love that has never waned! Aiden Kearney has finally found her - after searching for hundreds of years. Now he has only two weeks to strengthen their bond and tell her the truth, but how does he even begin? Can Aiden convince the lovely Shannon of her true identity? And will she be able to save the dragon of Clonakilty - again? Can the past become the future? Oh my! Sexy dragon-check! Beautiful archaeologist-check! Danger, suspense, drama, past lives and romance-check! This is going to be so good! I can hardly wait for Part Two! Absolute Perfection! Fantastic entertainment and an awesome read!

Reading the first part of a longer work is no way to judge it. I get told that someone is a dragon shapeshifter but don't see him shift. I get a flashback to a past romance which is now the basis of a legend, but I have no real sense of who those people are or why the flashback is shown.

A young woman interested in archaeology arrives on a dig in Ireland. Rather creepily the guy offering to fund the work has been mailing her to find out if she is married or in a relationship and he ends by saying that the time with him will leave her changed. Girl, run a mile.

And that really is about it, apart from some old legends, a flashback and an initial meeting with the man of the house. I need more to interest me in the characters and story, and a longer first part would probably be a good idea.

The Dragon Rules Part 1 is the first installment of new Dragon series. Shannon Bram does not have a lot of Archaeology behind her, she is surprise that she was chosen. Aiden Kearney has chosen Shannon to come to his family land and dig on a plot. Shanon is fascinated by the story of Aillen mac Kearney, half man and half dragon and Cliona who it say tame her beast with love.. When Shannon comes face to face to Aiden she faints. Will Aiden be able to fully tell Shannon that she is truly Cliona? Can't wait to see what happen in the next book
OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE BOOK: It was a great introduction to a new series

So far so good

I do not usually read serials unless I already have them all, but hey it was a dragon and could not resist. I will say that so far I am being drawn into this serial. As I love stories where it is a love lost and reincarnated throughout the years. I look forward to part two.

Incredibly short

Pace is fast and furious and a lot of setup is crammed into the few pages we get. I would have given it 5 stars if it had not ended so abruptly. I am definitely hooked and will be buying the other parts.

Nice start

Great start to the series. Reincarnation of a past love comes back in this installment. A Dragon shifter that back in the past she thought dead. Well written and very entertaining to read.

A serial romance

I'm not a fan of serial stories in general. I love a series and trilogies but taking one story and breaking it up bugs me for some reason. I am a fan of Bardsley though so I had to try it. I'm so glad I did. A very intriguing story line.

Not fair!

I'm a big Bardsley fan. Anything she writes I usually love! This was not one of my favorites. It cut off way too soon! I needed more if Shannon and Aiden. I needed more back story, more action. As a part it's just not enough for me.

Hooked

The start of this series was wonderful. It hooked me in just like a drama show would. I wonder how Shannon will feel about this whole reincarnation thing.

There are quite a few typos in this short story, but the story is good, the action was gripping, and the setting believable. I'm definitely ordering Part Two.

One of my author friends sent out a list of free books available. I decided to give this a shot. It was okay but just did not make sense for part one of a series it was just confusing.
