Like my favourite bookish heroines, I found the love of a lifetime, except now I can’t remember how…

Paisley

My summer plans were simple. Kiss my husband, snuggle my dog, and create an elite reading list for the library. Losing seven years' worth of memories after near-death by window artistry, thanks to my klutzy nature? Absolutely not part of the plan.

In one short day, I went from stealing kisses with Greyson to waking up in the hospital to a handsome stranger—the man I forgot I married. Every memory of us is a blank slate, and I’m in the middle of a life I dreamed of but can’t remember.

But there are three things I’m sure of:

1. I have no intention of letting a man break my heart again

2. For all his grumpiness, Greyson has a heart of gold. Better than any fictional hero

3. And my heart is very much in danger of falling in love again…with my husband

Greyson

My time in the Marines didn’t prepare me for this kind of campaign—Operation Woo My Wife. Of all the nightmares I’ve struggled with since my last mission overseas, Paisley forgetting me was never one of them.

Competing against old and forgotten memories brings its own kind of challenges, but I’m not giving up. She already has my heart. I just need to win hers back.
Because I can’t fail her again.
I want to be the hero she remembers.

In Every Chapter is an amnesia rom-com featuring an already married couple refalling in love, plenty of heartfelt healing, everyday faith, swoony banter, and laugh aloud small town shenanigans—all without the spice.

Morgan Taylor Giesbrecht fell in love with fictional realms at a young age and quickly began writing tales of her own--full of hope, brave living in a dark world, and unexpected love stories for the crusty romantics (like herself). She’s a hobbit at heart (but not in height) with deep roots in the past, who loves the occasional adventure, accidentally talks in a British accent on occasion, and has the dry humour to match. When she isn’t writing or reading a book on her never ending to-be-read list, she can be found drinking copious amounts of tea, rewatching comfort shows for the umpteenth time, hanging out with family and friends, reorganising her bookshelves, or playing Christmas music year-round. British Columbia, Canada is the place she calls home, nestled in the foothills.

Hi, friend!

I’m so glad you’re here! IEC might be the hardest book I’ve written to date, but it’s also my favourite.

There’s something established love going through growing pains and coming out stronger on the other side. (No, this is not a marriage on the rocks.) Greyson and Paisley both have their monsters to face but also fall in love again.

If you’re ready for an emotional yet hilarious read, LOTR obsessed characters, and small town charm—welcome to Serenity Springs, ID, where everyone knows your business but also brings casseroles.

5 stars. Amnesia? Ex-military MMC? Librarian FMC? Falling in love as a married couple? The tropes were practically screaming my name. Boy, did I enjoy this. I loved Greyson's protectiveness and tenderness, especially as he navigated Paisley's trauma from her abusive former husband. I loved Paisley's humour and bookishness. I loved the vibrant family and close-knit friend group. I loved the cute little town. This was like eating apple pie with vanilla ice cream—warm, sweet, swoony, and wholesome. 💙 I am in love with this cast and I can't wait to read more about them all!

Content: several mentions of wedding nights/sharing beds, etc. The romance was a tiny bit more sizzly than I, personally, was wholly comfortable with, but it was clean and closed-door, and a lovely portrayal of married romance.

I don't know that I've wanted to read a contemporary romance that fast in a long. This was such a sweet story full of depth and heart. I felt the emotions along with the characters, sometimes wanting to cry with them or laugh with them. Greyson and Paisley are just the cutest couple ever. And I absolutely love how Giesbrecht did the marriage trope so beautifully. This was not one of those marriage-on-the-rocks tropes, but rather an amnesia I-forgot-who-I-married trope. I loved connecting with the friends and getting to know them a little better in this book and look forward to reading more about the characters in this town.

This was so well written. The author did a fabulous job of pulling me into the story and feeling all the emotions.

Oh, how I loved Greyson and Paisley right from the start. I mean a Marine veteran and a librarian? What more could you ask for? (Says the bookish girl married to her own Marine.) Their meeting was sweet, and then we jump forward five and a half years and see that they're now married, and all that chemistry is still very much alive... and I was here for it. Amnesia is one of those tropes that can be more hit and miss for me. When it's not done well, it just feels like a cheesy daytime soap opera... but when it's done well, I love it! And I am happy to say that this one was done VERY well. Seeing Paisley fall in love with Greyson all over again without those earlier memories was so beautifully done. Their story touched on tougher topics such as his PTSD from military service, mentions of abuse, infertility, etc. and yet there was a gentleness about their story that kept it from feeling too heavy. Just the perfect blend of tenderness and sizzling chemistry with faith and healing... truly a must read!

In Every Chapter is a faith-filled closed-door romance with kisses only and no language. It is the second book in the Reluctant Romantics series but could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

"I laughed, I cried...it moved me, Bob"
--Veggie Tales

I fell in love with Paisley and Grey in the first couple of chapters and it never let go. I think "married with amnesia" might be a new favorite trope...or maybe it's just that Morgan captured this couple in this way so beautifully that it's the only way I'll like it. We shall see!

My usual problem with contemporary romance wasn't one here. Yes, there are moments of levity. There are moments where the characters are allowed to simply exist in their environment (you're so in love with said characters to not mind the slightly mundane scenes--shopping, girl trips, BBQ dinners, etc--You WANT them because you want to live in the world for as long as possible). But! The angst is real and raw and honest. Morgan doesn't shy away from hard subjects that strip away pretense until the characters are human with each other, flaws and beauty both.

If you want a gentle love story that will make you feel all the feels as you read it, then this is the book for you!
I was sent this book from the author as an early review copy. My opinion is my own, and I will be ordering this book ASAP.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet and heartfelt romance. The amnesia trope can be difficult to pull off well, but the author handled it beautifully by focusing on the emotional journey between Paisley and Greyson rather than relying on unnecessary drama. Watching a married couple fall in love all over again was both touching and refreshing. Greyson's unwavering devotion, patience, and determination to win back his wife's heart made him an incredibly lovable hero, while Paisley's humor, love of books, and resilience made her easy to root for.
The small-town setting added warmth and charm to the story, and the supporting cast brought plenty of laughter and heart. I especially appreciated the themes of forgiveness, healing, faith, and the power of unconditional love.
If you enjoy clean contemporary romance, bookish heroines, devoted heroes, small-town communities, and stories about second chances within marriage, this book is a wonderful choice. Filled with humor, heart, and plenty of swoon-worthy moments, it is a charming reminder that true love is worth fighting for—even when the memories are gone.

Paisley’s sense of humor drew me in from page one. After her fall, I had to know if she would eventually get her memories back. Queue me buckling in for the adventure.

Greyson’s unwavering love for his wife, tenderness, and willingness to do whatever it took to help Paisley process her past while hoping she healed was the sweetest. And her friends were the best.

There were moments I laughed at the connection I felt to my fellow nerdy book characters, was shocked by a reveal, and wiped away a few tears while seeing parts of myself in the pages of this book. The humor and tenderness was a beautiful combination I didn’t know I’d enjoy so much.

Morgan Taylor Giesbrecht did an amazing job handling heavy topics with kindness and a gentleness that radiated truth. I finished this book with a smile on my face, a happy heart, and excitement for the next book in the series. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Content: infertility, military PTSD and injuries, nightmares, domestic abuse (previous relationship, off-screen), alcoholic mother, parental neglect, growing up in foster care, grief, kisses only.

GOODNESS, what a beautiful story! If you’re looking for a rom-com with depth and realistic characters without the heavy angst, this is it!

I absolutely LOVED Terms and Traditions and could not wait for the next installment in this series. I’m very happy to say that I adored this story just as much as the first!
All of these characters will make you feel like you're part of the friend group.
Seeing Paisley and Greyson love and support each other so fully—even through such hardship—was so lovely. It’s the perfect balance of coziness and depth that will get you right in the heart.
I love these precious, hurting cuties so much! I just want to give them the biggest hug. 🥹🥹

Okay, now here’s your official warning: be prepared to fall in love with Greyson Satterfield… “My wife.” YEAH. It’s GOOD.

The perfect addition to an absolutely beautiful series. I can’t wait to see what’s next!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

In Every Chapter (IEC)- 5/5 ⭐

What do you do when the woman you love and have vowed to love and protect doesn't remember you? Or what happens when you wake up only to find out that you are no longer the same woman you used to be and have no recollection of the past seven years?

This is Greyson and Paisley's story. Greyson and Paisley are a happily married couple until Paisley experiences amnesia due to an accident. Now Greyson has to try to win his wife back.

This book is about LOVING, not just in words but in actions.
I loved how intentional the characters- especially the MMC and FMC were. They kept praying for each other and trusting in Jesus. It reminds me that Love always wins.
I won't forget the support systems and vulnerable friendships in this book. I read book 1, so I almost felt like I was part of their friend group.

If you enjoy a small-town setting, a handsome and intentional MMC, friendship-centered, praying characters, amnesia, or the married couple rekindling love trope, then this book is for you.

I absolutely love this book, literally enjoyed 'every chapter'.

Thank you so much, Morgan Taylor Giesbrecht, for the ARC. I'm looking forward to reading more of your books.

“There was no changing the past. All we could do was live forward.”

In Every Chapter is a clean contemporary romance novel and is the second book in the Reluctant Romantics series of interconnected romance novels. You could read this as a standalone but would be best enjoyed as the second book in the series.

Morgan balances the romance and lightheartedness of the book with real-life circumstances and hard topics well. She also does a good job with character development with such a large cast of characters—even the side characters are unique/memorable (and there’s a handy character list for reminders).

If you’re looking for a modern-day book with humor/wit, a cast of relatable characters, swoony but clean romance, and small town charm, this is that book.

I really enjoyed this book and found myself smiling almost the entire way through. Paisley and Greyson’s chemistry was amazing. I loved all the bookish references.. so many LOTR since they were both obsessed! This book had so many amazing tropes.. as soon as I saw “amnesia” I was like YES! I loved the small town feel and the close-knit family and friend group. Even though both main characters had a lot of past trauma to work through, this book still had such a fun, sweet, swoony feel. This book was a pleasure to read and I found myself grabbing my phone to read some more as soon as I woke up!

Even though there were some sizzly moments, there was no spice. There was some talk about wedding nights, etc. No language.

I loved getting to meet Greyson and Paisley! They were the cutest couple :) I loved how Greyson was so patient with Pais while she didn't remember him. Morgan did a great job of keeping the reader interested all through the story! It was really awesome to see Nash & Steph get married. I love it when past characters play a role in the next book.

I have to say, amnesia is not my favourite trope. Also, I was hoping that she would fully get her memory back -- but she never did. It just said that it was slowly coming back... so I was left to assume if she got her memory back or not.

Anyway, it was a great read and totally recommend!

"In Every Chapter" is a sweet summer romance which, even in its lightheartedness, has the power to grapple with complex themes.
Paisley's journey of healing and rediscovery after amnesia is inspiring. I loved how everything in the story unfolds through the lens of faith. I was most moved by the portrayal of married love, in the simple daily sacrifices through which husband and wife serve one another.

The author paints an idyllic world that doesn't seem tainted by secularism. This could appear naive to some, but it's also refreshing to read a story where morality isn't relativistic and the characters are truly driven by Christian values.

This was such a sweet, tender, low angst book. I loved the author’s take on marriage and the amnesia trope. Greysen and Paisley had a great marriage and then she lost all memories of their time together. Grey was so sweet and loving and never stopped pursuing her to get her to fall in love with him again, even though his heart broke with having essentially lost his wife. I loved how she retained some “feelings” or senses of what seemed true. And how she didn’t push him away, and prayed to remember him. I also appreciated how we got some info about their past through conversations she had with friends who revealed things to her, rather than just getting to know all things from the past through flashbacks.

There are a lot of Lord of the Rings references and as someone who never watched or read those, they all went over my head.

Overall really enjoyed it; love hanging out with this family and friend group and looking forward to the next book in the series!

Content: no swearing, kisses only, light faith themes

A beautiful touching story of healing as Paisley and Greyson journey through the struggles of amnesia. Many emotions felt as Paisley relearns the path her life has taken over the last few years. There is alot to love about this story - sweet and romantic moments as Greyson tries to win his wife back, supportive family and friends, small town feel with all its busybodies, and the faith aspects. I enjoyed revisiting some of the characters from the first book and can’t wait for more books in this series. Thank you to the author for the ARC.

He is so patient with Paisley’s memory loss and even chooses to start dating her again even though he is married to her. He will do anything for the lady of his dreams! She always comes first.
