I’m so glad you’re here! IEC might be the hardest book I’ve written to date, but it’s also my favourite.
There’s something established love going through growing pains and coming out stronger on the other side. (No, this is not a marriage on the rocks.) Greyson and Paisley both have their monsters to face but also fall in love again.
If you’re ready for an emotional yet hilarious read, LOTR obsessed characters, and small town charm—welcome to Serenity Springs, ID, where everyone knows your business but also brings casseroles.

5 stars. Amnesia? Ex-military MMC? Librarian FMC? Falling in love as a married couple? The tropes were practically screaming my name. Boy, did I enjoy this. I loved Greyson's protectiveness and tenderness, especially as he navigated Paisley's trauma from her abusive former husband. I loved Paisley's humour and bookishness. I loved the vibrant family and close-knit friend group. I loved the cute little town. This was like eating apple pie with vanilla ice cream—warm, sweet, swoony, and wholesome. 💙 I am in love with this cast and I can't wait to read more about them all!
Content: several mentions of wedding nights/sharing beds, etc. The romance was a tiny bit more sizzly than I, personally, was wholly comfortable with, but it was clean and closed-door, and a lovely portrayal of married romance.

I don't know that I've wanted to read a contemporary romance that fast in a long. This was such a sweet story full of depth and heart. I felt the emotions along with the characters, sometimes wanting to cry with them or laugh with them. Greyson and Paisley are just the cutest couple ever. And I absolutely love how Giesbrecht did the marriage trope so beautifully. This was not one of those marriage-on-the-rocks tropes, but rather an amnesia I-forgot-who-I-married trope. I loved connecting with the friends and getting to know them a little better in this book and look forward to reading more about the characters in this town.

Trying something new because I'm beyond tired of being in reading slumps because I can't keep up with all the books I want to review. So here goes--five minute review. What makes it in makes it in. Go!
The characters were adorable. I loved the fact that we got to spend time with them and see their relationship before the accident that changed everything. Paisley was sweet and relatable despite all the past issues she had to work through (and all the issues they caused in the present), but Greyson absolutely shredded my heart!!! I loved him so much, and he was such a caring husband to Paisley; it was agony to imagine what he was going through when she couldn't remember what they had together. I also loved a bunch of the side characters, although I was surprised to find that this is only the second connected book--with the amount of backstory involved in minor characters' lives, it felt like the kind of thing you get connecting two separate series. XP The only drawback for me was some of the physical affection--it wasn't overly descriptive for the most part, as far as the actions themselves, and the characters were married, which definitely helped, but the way the characters themselves talked about and reacted to each others looks, touches, and kisses was a bit beyond my comfort level, and that knocks my personal rating down a bit.

SIIX STARS!
This may just be my new all-time-favorite romance!
Both characters were adorable, and I loved Greyson especially (I was literally in love with him XD)! Their relationship was amazing, and I love their marriage so much. Also, meeting someone at a LotR trivia night is my DREAM MEET-CUTE!!!!!
The side characters were awesome as well, and the author did great showing the friendship and sibling dynamics.
I honestly thought I wouldn't like the plot because amnesia is never my favorite trope, but this was so well done (and even better because they had known each other for years XD). Their growth was great, and Christian themes were tied in well.
Seriously, I loved this book SO SO SO MUCH!!!

As for TW: military PTSD, death of a friend, trauma from being in-and-out of the foster system, death of a spouse, marital abuse (particularly physical) - the last two TWs were from Paisley's previous marriage and are sparsely shared details. One scene deals with her recalling a time when her husband had hit her, and that was when she was going to get out of the marriage.

I have always stayed away from the amnesia troupe. It seemed so cheesy but leave it to Morgan Taylor Giesbrecht to use it beautifully! I love that we got to see Paisley’s life pre-Grayson in flashbacks as well as coming to terms with their life now as she falls in love with her husband all over again.
Imagine curling up in a soft blanket, your pet snuggled up next to you and a delicious treat of chocolate covered strawberries in a bowl next to you. That’s what reading this book (and Morgan’s books in general!) feels like! Safe, sweet, tender and cozy.
This is the second book in an interconnected series (TERMS AND TRADITIONS is the first book) and the friendship group in these books is so so good! I can’t wait to read all their stories!

Ahh, where do I begin with my thoughts on this sweet book??
First, the small-town setting is so charming, especially with the main characters' cozy home and Paisley's job as a librarian! (And even though I didn't connect with every book/movie reference, I knew quite a few of them, which was fun!) And the characters?? So good! Big families and supportive friends add so much heart to the story.
Now, the romance: Paisley and Grayson are adorable together! I loved his patient desire to rewin her heart after amnesia claims her memories of him - so emotional!! As for Paisley, her personality shines through in lots of ways, and I especially enjoyed her resilience and humor!
The romance is also closed-door. Since it focuses on a married couple, a few kisses/attraction moments are more passionate than the kinds of "first-time-meeting" romances I typically read, but I do feel the author handled the marriage dynamics tactfully (and there are no fade-to-black scenes, which I appreciated very much)!
The faith themes are great too! They're somewhat light overall, but I liked reminders to trust God in difficult/unknown times.
If you're interested in swoon-worthy adult romances with depth, closed-door marriage revivals, and amnesia stories, I'd definitely recommend this!

I’m not sure why this is called a rom-com. Sure, there were some lighter moments, but it certainly doesn’t fit any of my ideas of what a rom-com are. But maybe I just don’t know what makes a romance book into a rom-com.
I did like Paisley and Greyson. They were both dealing with a lot in this book. It would be difficult, stressful, heartbreaking to suddenly have your wife not know she had married you, and for her to think she’s married to someone else. But they did handle it better than I was expecting. I loved how Greyson kept being there for her no matter what. And I loved how everyone was there for both Paisley and Greyson.
All the mentions to the Lord of the Rings went right over my head as I’ve never read those books, watched the movies or had any interest in doing so. But it’s not necessary for the story to know all that.
There was more physical affection/attraction described than I really enjoy even if it is between a married couple which lowered my rating.

Reading In Every Chapter felt like receiving a big, warm hug right when I needed it. Morgan created characters that felt like friends & Greyson & Paisley definitely won out for me over Stephanie & Nash in Terms and Traditions 😍 Perhaps 'cause I found myself relating to Paisley on a deeper level...her love for Tolkien & Rosemary Sutcliff (especially Lantern Bearers 😭) just resonated hard with me as did her overall personality & the insecurities she struggles with. Her story brought me hope & courage as did her beautiful marriage with Greyson. Absolutely loved this 1, my dear Morgan 🖤 (stayed up 'til 3am to finish it & I haven't done that in a longgg time with a book)

A sweet, clean romance filled with patience, faith, and friendship!
This was a wonderfully sweet, clean romance featuring a touch of Christian faith. Greyson and Paisley have a beautiful love story that takes a dramatic turn when an accident leaves Paisley with amnesia, erasing the last seven years of her life—and all memory of her husband.
Greyson’s patience and sweetness throughout her recovery are incredibly heartwarming, and their shared love for The Lord of the Rings is absolutely adorable. I also really loved the dual timeline structure; the author brilliantly flashes back and forth between the past and present, adding so much depth to their relationship. Another major highlight was Paisley’s amazing group of girlfriends. I always love a story featuring fierce, loyal female friendships where everyone drops everything to support one another.
While the pacing felt a little slow at times and it didn’t quite give me the intense "romance tingles" I usually hope for, I still thoroughly enjoyed the story overall.

What a delightful read! Everything about this book fits into the tropes and storylines that I like. Also, books with married couples (whether marriage of convenience or already married is definitely a new favorite. There were gentle reminders of God and His Faithfulness throughout the story that touched my heart, and there was one scene that made me tear up.
Paisley and Greyson were a dream couple. They completed each other in their marriage. Greyson was sweet and tender with Paisley. He did his best to be patient with her situation. But he also has his own struggles. PTSD from the Marines combined with current challenges and decisions added to his complexity. As a side note, I loved the family/ friendship dynamics of the two characters. Paisley was a character I for sure related to emotionally. Her thought process and emotions felt so personal and relatable.
Even though she had her fair share of trauma, her spirit remained sweet. I loved her wardrobe and the relationships she had with her friends.

I wanted to like this one as much as Terms and Traditions but I just... didn't. The beginning seemed a little slower to me than I would have preferred and I didn't feel like I was really engaged in the book until after the halfway mark.
I also got angry when they told her her previous husband was dead and then dumped ALL her forgotten trauma on her. It seemed like maybe they could have tried to delicately tell her her husband was dead (since she was asking about him repeatedly) without telling her EVERYTHING. I dont know, I'm not a medical professional BUT my personal opinion.
Her friends were all introduced to her by the "tropes" their romances fell under which seemed unrealistic and annoying. It pulled me out of the book a little. I do plan to continue the series but the way that was brought up just rubbed me the wrong way.

Honestly, I love reading married or friend banter way more than "getting to know you" banter 🫢
This book had me laughing, crying, swooning, upset, ready to fight... like literally all the feelings were felt.
I loved reading Paisley & Grayson fall in love again, seeing them battle through their pasts together, & their army of friends & family loving them through it all.

📚 My thoughts:
This book had a lot of things that I loved.
Marriage, memory loss, and starting over. There’s some heavy themes such as domestic abuse in a past relationship and PTSD. I appreciated how both of those plot lines were handled by the author.
📚 Seeing Greyson’s patience and love as Paisley was trying to re-figure out life was my favorite. Also- as someone who loves the Lord of the Rings films, I really liked all of the nods and winks to the films and the books. There are so many little references and mentions of it throughout the entire book, and I ate it up. I also loved Jerry, the town Maine Coon cat.
📚 There were a lot of side characters and relationships to keep up with. They blurred together in the background with the exception of Juliet who I loved. Also, Mama D deserves an honorable mention. Her scenes were few but powerful. 😭
📚 I would have loved more detail about Greyson coping with PTSD and his struggle with his losses. I also would have loved to see more moments occur on page. There were conversations/moments that passed by off page. (Ie “we talked about everything and nothing…”; “we chatted over breakfast”; or conversations about future dreams and the pros and cons all being off page.)
📚Overall, this was precious. I appreciate seeing more stories like this in the closed door universe, and I’ll definitely try more from this author.

Also- as someone who loves the Lord of the Rings films, I really liked all of the nods and winks to the films and the books. There are so many little references and mentions of it throughout the entire book, and I ate it up. I also loved Jerry, the town Maine Coon cat.
📚 There were a lot of side characters and relationships to keep up with. They blurred together in the background with the exception of Juliet who I loved. Also, Mama D deserves an honorable mention. Her scenes were few but powerful. 😭
📚 I would have loved more detail about Greyson coping with PTSD and his struggle with his losses. I also would have loved to see more moments occur on page. There were conversations/moments that passed by off page. (Ie “we talked about everything and nothing…”; “we chatted over breakfast”; or conversations about future dreams and the pros and cons all being off page.)
📚Overall, this was precious. I appreciate seeing more stories like this in the closed door universe, and I’ll definitely try more from this author.

Welp I think I officially need to accept that I'm a contemporary romance fan now because this is the fourth one in a row that I've thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent writing, vivid characters, and emotional character arcs made this one a slam dunk for me! Here's what readers will find inside:

Paisley and Grey were absolutely precious together and I loved their journey together (both the first and second). I saw a lot of my own relationship with my husband in their story which made it extra special to read. I kept turning pages and felt invested very quickly because all the characters seemed so real and fully "lived in." As a fantasy author myself, I'm in awe of authors who can make such a gripping story without a quest element fusing the plot together. But I found lots to love in every chapter (see what I did there?)
PTSD in both characters was handled respectfully and the former-Marine aspect of Grey never felt over-emphasized in the way it feels some military love interests can be. Paisley and Grey's journey felt very authentic and it was beautiful, and sometimes painful, to read. The rest of the characters were all so fun I'm really eager to read the rest of the author's work!

I feel like this book was written for me. It’s about moving forward when life takes an unexpected turn. Even the dedication mentions being soft when life is hard. I especially loved how Greyson and Paisley’s love story was told through the language of books.
In Every Chapter is Book 2 in the Reluctant Romantics. This book is a Christian rom-com, but it doesn't pretend that life is easy or that every wound heals overnight. Instead, it's a reminder that even after heartbreak, disappointment, and unexpected detours, hope can still find its way in—and sometimes moving forward begins with taking just one more step.
Paisley is a librarian married to Greyson, a Marine veteran and mechanic. From their meet-cute to married life, you can’t help but cheer them on. Then the accident happens, and Paisley doesn’t remember Greyson. He still pursues her as she struggles to learn to trust and love again. I loved that the roots of their love were still there, and they moved forward on a new journey together.
As someone who works with Marines every day, I found it fun to see that Greyson still makes his bed as he did at boot camp. He was a hero in every way. He truly embodied the Marines’ core values of honor, courage, and commitment. He struggled with PTSD, and I appreciated how the story handled it with care and showed support in their relationship.
I absolutely love reading books with twin brothers. This is the third one I’ve read this year, and it’s one of my favorites. I loved how Cal knew that his brother needed him. Even their banter about having the same face was a good laugh.
As an e-book reader, I also agree with Paisley that hardcovers (and paperbacks for me) are considered trophies.

An amnesia romcom featuring an already married couple falling back in love. A Reluctant Romantics Book 2, after Terms and Traditions which came out last November. I have read a couple other amnesia romances and this one is my favorite. The others were good, but this one had so much love and devotion that I didn’t want to stop reading.
Paisley is the small town’s sweet librarian who also has a feisty side. When she falls and hits her head, she loses the memory of the last 7 years which includes all memories of her husband and their marriage.
Greyson is an ex-Marine and when he sees his wife falling but can’t help her, it only begins the heartache of having to woo his wife back into loving him.

From the very first page, the chemistry between Paisley and Greyson was evident. I loved exploring the history between them, from their first meeting at a Lord of the Rings trivia night to scenes from their life as a married couple prior to the accident. Seeing their lives together made Paisley’s accident that much more devastating as a reader when she wakes up with no memory of her husband.
Greyson never wavers in his desire to win back his wife’s heart. He remains a steady and supportive presence in her life but never pushes her for more than she is comfortable with. Paisley may have no memory of Greyson, but she still feels drawn to him in a way that she cannot explain. As he patiently pursues her, Paisley starts to see what an incredible man Greyson is. Watching Paisley fall in love with Greyson all over again kept me completely invested in their journey.
I love that the story is told through dual POV because experiencing Greyson and Paisley’s perspectives helped me better understand their emotions and motivations. There are also flashback chapters in between the main timeline that help fill in any gaps and show how the characters got to where they are today. Oh, how I loved Greyson and Paisley right from the start. I mean a Marine veteran and a librarian? What more could you ask for? (Says the bookish girl married to her own Marine.) Their meeting was sweet, and then we jump forward five and a half years and see that they're now married, and all that chemistry is still very much alive... and I was here for it. Amnesia is one of those tropes that can be more hit and miss for me. When it's not done well, it just feels like a cheesy daytime soap opera... but when it's done well, I love it! And I am happy to say that this one was done VERY well. Seeing Paisley fall in love with Greyson all over again without those earlier memories was so beautifully done. Their story touched on tougher topics such as his PTSD from military service, mentions of abuse, infertility, etc. and yet there was a gentleness about their story that kept it from feeling too heavy. Just the perfect blend of tenderness and sizzling chemistry with faith and healing... truly a must read!

I kept hoping the book would get better and it never did. I really loved Greyson and felt so bad for him. Paisley got on my very last nerve. I felt like Greyson was over there doing the most and she just kept being stubborn and not trying to see the good in him. Yeah she doesn’t remember him but he’s proving over and over that he’s got her back and is there for her and she continues to just think of him as some man. What’s wild is if he had been around more when she was in college she would have remembered him. Instead he was fighting for our country and never home. It felt like in some ways she was mad at him for that. Like I said I really didn’t like her. I also wanted a more touching story. In the beginning I was hoping it would go that way but it fell flat. It took a little over 60% for her to start falling for him. HOW? This man is so patient and so kind, how in the world did it take THAT long 🙄 She finally wanted to kiss him at 76%. THEN she never remembers anything except that her ex husband beat her. That is the memory she gets back. Ugh. I wanted her to start saying things to Greyson that would make him realize she was starting to remember things. That never happened. I’m bummed out, I really was hoping this was going to be a good amnesia romance.

My usual problem with contemporary romance wasn't one here. Yes, there are moments of levity. There are moments where the characters are allowed to simply exist in their environment (you're so in love with said characters to not mind the slightly mundane scenes--shopping, girl trips, BBQ dinners, etc--You WANT them because you want to live in the world for as long as possible). But! The angst is real and raw and honest. Morgan doesn't shy away from hard subjects that strip away pretense until the characters are human with each other, flaws and beauty both.
If you want a gentle love story that will make you feel all the feels as you read it, then this is the book for you!

I really loved this story and it was a unique story to read - especially as a part of a series.
This follows Greyson and Paisley, who are already married, but must find their way back to the same page after Paisley loses her memory of the last seven years.
As a whole, I loved it. I loved the found family the care each character had for one another, the "it's always been you" micro trope..
It was a unique experience because the cover and personality of Greyson so closely matched my own husband. It was like finding little pieces of my own safe place with each chapter.
Of the things I didn't necessarily enjoy as much, one was that evidently they'd dealt with infertility and because she lost her memory... She didn't really care? Even though her husband did. It was like she was just sad because Greyson was. I think a part of me just felt like there was more to be said there, though from the trigger warnings I got the feeling the author was hesitant to really delve into it.
That said, I really enjoyed the book as a whole and Ive already recommended it to family and promised my sister she could borrow it.
