⭐⭐⭐⭐ | A Tangled Web of Secrets! If you are looking for a story packed with lies, deceit, and high-stakes drama, this is the ride for you. Kayaa pulls you into a whirlwind of confusion where no one’s heart is safe, and the secrets just keep piling up.
The character dynamics are what really make this "mess" so addictive:
*Huey is the ultimate standout—a no-nonsense man who knows how to put people in their place respectfully, all in the name of protecting the woman he loves.
*Then there’s Art, a selfish loser who truly believes he can have his cake and eat it too. His entitlement is infuriating in the best way possible.
*Jae serves as the heart of the story; she’s warm and naive, but her willingness to let the secrets continue keeps you on the edge of your seat. Throw in Shane, the friend playing both sides of a love triangle, and Alexis, who adds her own flair to the mix, and you have a recipe for total chaos.
Between the unexpected pregnancy and the constant betrayals, I was hooked. Will Jae and Huey actually get their happy ending? I could tell you, but you honestly need to read this mess for yourself to find out!
Somewhere Between You Two: Huey is a messy, emotionally charged read centered on Jae trying to navigate a complicated situation where her heart has already made a decision, even if everything around her hasn’t caught up yet. From the beginning, Huey is very much the emotional pull in her life, while everything else feels more like pressure, convenience, or obligation she’s trying to untangle herself from. The story really leans into that tension of wanting peace but being surrounded by chaos that keeps pulling her back in.
What makes this book so addictive is how personal and intense Huey is when it comes to Jae. He is decisive, emotionally present in his own way, and not afraid to make it clear where he stands, which creates a strong contrast with the outside noise trying to complicate things. A lot of the conflict comes less from a true love triangle and more from interference, misunderstandings, and people who are way too invested in a situation that isn’t theirs to control. Lexi especially had me side-eyeing the whole time, because the pick-me energy and forced positioning in places she didn’t belong just added fuel to the mess.
Overall, this was dramatic, addictive, and full of emotional turbulence from start to finish. It’s really about Jae finally stepping out of confusion and into clarity, even while everything around her is still loud and chaotic. If you like messy dynamics, possessive energy, and stories where the main character is slowly reclaiming her peace while everyone else is spiraling, this one will keep you locked in.
First things first, do not read Book 2 without reading Book 1. You need the full setup of Jae, Art, and Huey because this entanglement is layered and complicated from the start.
In Book 2 we get Huey’s POV, and the drama only gets deeper. Jae is clearly moving out of hurt and anger after Art’s poor decisions, and she’s not slowing down or looking back. Art made mistakes that may have been happening longer than we realized, while Huey is the patient lover boy who stepped in when the moment aligned.
This story honestly reads like a soap opera you can’t stop watching, messy, emotional, and addictive. I also have a feeling there’s more to Jae than we know, and somebody might be pulling strings behind the scenes.
Needless to say, I’m invested and waiting on Book 3. Highly recommend!
What a wild ride this was! Kayaa B. For sure knows how to grab her audience’s attention from beginning to the end! This is a continuation of her previous book, Somewhere Between You Two, based on Janine’s POV mainly. This time we’re seeing things mainly through Huey’s POV & things turn out to not be what I originally thought it was going to be. The twist & turns, the plot started thickening, & the ENDINGGGGGG ! 😩 I cannot wait to read this again on April 4th, 2026 because my goodness this was AMAZING ! Literally had me locked in from the beginning to the end. Absolutely amazing I loved it! 5/5⭐️ 3.5/5🌶️
This was a good read. Huey stood on business about his girl Jae. That ending had me though. So on to the next book. I can’t wait to see how everything unfolds.
