The fourth book in Blue Moon House series by Angelica Dawson

How does a slave become an equal? What does it take for a young man to see women in a new light?
Will has no interest in women. He thinks them all animals to be trained, beaten. It doesn't take him long to discover his preference for men, but time and error reveal how wrong his view toward women is. Before long, he is able to separate the way he treats women, which is still horrific, from the way he regards women, as fellow human beings.

*Trigger This book contains racial slurs and one man's misogynistic ways and errors in judgement until he learns a valuable lesson. This treatment is not intended for the purpose of titillation and does not in any way reflect the author's or publisher's beliefs of the appropriate treatment of any woman or human being. The information is, however, necessary to portray the moral behind this story, the lessons learned, and the appropriate use of SSC within BDSM.*

Dayum! Ok, so far this is my favorite of the series. Will has been a character that I loved to hate. This is his story and it shows how he became the way he is. Hot and steamy yet a little heartbreaking at the same time. More...I want more.

How can you love when you don’t know it? 5 GOLD VAMPIRES

Will let his eyes close, and rested his heart in the vampire’s hands. WHOA! WOW! I loved this story, but… BUT.. I am also not sure what to think about it! Don’t get me wrong! It was crazy great – VAMPIRRIFIC even, but at the same time the whole black/white slavery/servants lower class/upper class aspect was quite unsettling. But now that I have read Will's story, it sure sheds a much different light on him! It also explains so much about who Will is in later books, why he is who he is, how he got there, etc. For some reason though he is still my least favorite character of them. That doesn't mean I don't like him, because I do, but I just don't have the connection to him (in any of the stories) like I do with the others. Surprisingly, after reading all of this series, feeling like I was watching, sometimes almost experiencing it all - the kink of all kinds, the numerous forms of play, even the rougher stuff, it is the cruelty in this one that was my undoing! Because it was real cruelty, not what was a predetermined experience, or that done in a controlled environment. However, that is EXACTLY the point from that time period and expertly sheds so much light into Will’s character/being! I did find that after reading his story, when reading the other books that Will is in, his “play” with his clients takes on a whole new meaning and respect. I even respect Will for who he has become, how he works his human knowledge into his play, how he has evolved even! I LOVE his terminologies! Oh my! At first I was a little.. well, not sure what some of those words even meant, but then when Jocelyn asked him “What is a bubber and how is it scrootchy?”, I was howling and then I realized that I had a new found respect, understanding and appreciation even, for Will! This IS a FANGTASTIC book and yes I will read it again. (I can’t wait to read this whole series again!) Which I think is a true and great testament to Angelica's VAMPTACULAR talent as well as her exceptional gift for writing the stories that grab me & hold me throughout the entire story even when - especially when - I am very much out of my comfort zone! I also find it interesting that even though vampires are at play, literally & figuratively, that the angle of these stories all seem to be the human angle leading to their point of vampirism, rather than having any stories - so far - told from the vampire point of view. I was hoping to get the vampire's take on what goes on behind closed doors too, not only the humans. Don't get me wrong though! These are VAMPIREROTIC stories and very, very much worth the read, if you get my meaning! wink Rather than being a story with extreme heat in it, this is all scalding hot & naughty with a story. A FANGTACULAR story!! I had read book 1 quite a while ago, so I decided to read "the prequels" first, then go back and read book 1 again! What a difference! My curiosity about each person was fulfilled so I could just lay back & enjoy it to its fullest, making experience one most satisfying!! wink The books can be read in any way or order you want, as they are technically individual stories, but reading them in order, and ALL of them, will give you the full experience and take you to new FANGASMIC heights… over & over again!

When I read that blurb, I wondered how I could ever possibly like this book. As a dedicated reader of Ms. Dawson's Blue Moon House series, I refused to give in to my inhibitions. I'm so glad I did. This story was one of the best roller-coaster rides I've ever read. I loved watching Will grow as a character, and loved being able to piece together why he thought and did the things he did.

As with all of her stories in this series, it wasn't without it's fair share of hardcore kink. The self-discovery for Will isn't an overnight thing, and as usual, the Masters and Mistresses of Blue Moon House are there to guide him, each in their own unique ways. I love that the author is back tracking to show how each member of the House ends up there, and the back story to why they are the way they are. More importantly, I love that the series continues to have real plot and isn't simply a compilation of kinky sex scenes for the sake of writing kink.

As usual, well done, Ms. Dawson. You continue to stun and astound me with the depths you travel into the psyche of your characters, and the artful portrayal of BDSM at it's kinkiest. That's why this book, and this series, continues to be a Must Read! ~ D. F. Krieger

*Note: I received an ARC of the story in exchange for an honest review. :)

A sexy/kinky read as we learn about Will, his thoughts and feelings towards women and what the Masters and Mistresses of the Blue Moon House teach him. More secrets are revealed about the characters and their past and what led them to the Blue Moon House. Yes very kinky but the story is excellent, I couldn’t put it down. Great Read!

Hot, sexy, erotic – everything I've come to expect from Angelica Dawson's amazing talent. The Slave takes us back to Blue Moon House to learn how Will became a 'member'. Will is a slave and grew up in a world where men dominated woman in a harmful way. As he works at Blue Moon House he has to unlearn some of those behaviors to truly appreciate his own skills, passions and desires.
