We’re the third wheel in this Prophecy. What can one woman do for us? The Sage are revered. The vampires are hidden. Us? We’re persecuted. We’re purged. We’re The Damned.

Alexandria Vendart’s parents died in a riot. It was an accident, a riot designed to purge. They were human collateral damage, a tragic loss in a bigger war. Eight years on, and Alex has heard it all. But beside the whisperings of the small-town folk around her Texas ranch, there is no war, no cause: only college, boys, and the impending birth of her sister-in-law’s next brat.

That is, until a strange man by the name of Antae arrives and claims to have saved her from the same fate her parents suffered… by turning her as a child into one of the people who caused the riots in the first place: The Damned, users of blood magic.

Whisked away to learn her people’s history and the magical legacy she has inherited, Alex does everything she can to return to her normal human life; that is, until she meets The Twins, the alluring and secretive Ilijah and Maria. Drawn to the new girl, the pair can’t fathom why a silly teenager who can’t cast a single spell is so interesting… that is, until Alex’s fate unveils itself…

Abigail Gibbs was born and raised in deepest, darkest Devon. She is currently studying for a BA in English at the University of Oxford and considers herself a professional student, as the real world is yet to catch up with her. Her greatest fear is blood and she is a great advocate of vegetarianism, which logically led to the writing of her first novel, Dinner With A Vampire. At age fifteen, she began posting serially online under the pseudonym Canse12, and after three years in the internet limelight, set her sights towards total world domination. She splits her time between her studies, stories and family, and uses coffee to survive all three.

It has been many years since it was supposed to be published and this book is most probably half written. Hopefully Abigail will one day finish this series, for I and many others would love to read it.

For those searching or curious, Abigail is very open about her health. She puts spare time as often as she can into writing, she's doing what she can, as she can. These books are amazing. All of us await the continuation of these books. And many of us will read them years down the line. I've waited years. I'll wait even longer.

This was supposed to be released almost a decade ago so I have lost interest in reading this.

It now says December 2020 and it looks like Harpercollins is no longer the publisher.

Didn't Gibbs get a 6 book deal for this series?

Given Sarah J Maas also got a deal around the same time and released what , 10 books, I'm a little offput.

Autumn Rose began her life surrounded by the royal family of the Athenean monarchy, thanks to her grandmother, the duchess of England. That life came to an end almost four years ago when her grandmother was murdered and Autumn Rose went back to the life among humans, two of which are her parents. Her new life is not as glamorous. Although she is last of the Al-Summers line and will one day hold the same title as her grandmother, Autumn is the only Sage living in the little seaside town. She works at a local diner. She goes to school with humans who bully her. The worst part of being the only magic-wielding Sage in school, she must be guardian of the very people who endless torment or ignore her.
That is, until another Sage by the name Fallon comes to town. At he isn't only Sage. He is the crowned prince of Athena. Soon after his appearance, Autumn begins to discover deep-hidden secrets and horrible dreams of a human girl Violet Lee are causing migraine-inducing black-outs. Violet has been kidnapped by a group of vampires. The abduction is real. She has read about it in the newspapers. But are the dreams real? And if they are, how can Autumn rescue the girl before it's too late.
Autumn Rose is the second book in the "Dark Heroine" series. The timeline of the story runs along the same as the first book, so there are many "a-ha" and "OMG" moments. I have developed a connection with the characters in these books and am curious how the story plays out next. Unfortunately, the next book which still hasn't been titled was scheduled to come out in 2015. It's been pushed back to December of 2020 so I have a bit of a wait. Hopefully, I will develop a sense of patience before then. Lets see what fate has in store for me and the Dark Heroines.
