Light has eliminated six of his eight sworn enemies. Now the next target is Santor, the centaur from the party that left Light for dead three years ago in the Abyss. As the heir to his nation’s throne, Santor joins his people in escalating hostilities against the Wicked Witch of the Tower, but Phinea, Santor’s half sister, knows this confrontation will doom their country and the entire centaur race. Desperate to prevent war, Phinea and her friend Palu set out for the Great Tower to negotiate peace with the witch. Unfortunately, they never make it! Betrayed by one of their own, Phinea barely escapes while Palu is captured. Now alone and hunted, Phinea has no allies and no clear path forward—until she crosses paths with Elio, the young former adventurer who now lives the life of a simple farmer. Can Phinea reach the Wicked Witch before Santor’s rebellion ignites a catastrophic war? And can the centaur princess trust a human boy to help her save everyone she loves?
I loved every book in the series but this was the worst one. There are over 200 pages but 80-90% was "extra stories". I was so disappointed because ive been waiting for this book to come out to learn what happened after the fall of the demon kingdom only to get a brief story of the original plot. Usually the extra stories are at the end but they take up the entire beginning and end which is confusing that you find the story randomly in the middle. Im sad that after waiting I barely got any new information.
The problem is that it's only 6 chapters long, with 12 extra stories added to pad the size.
I don't know if the author was suffering from writer's block or wants/needs to write a specific number of volumes, but this kind of padding is disappointing.
