When Angel turns up at his company after being hired by someone else, he knows he wants to get rid of her.

I think I expected lot from his book after reading about him in other books but I was bored most of the had to keep it 3 times then finally picked it up today to complete.
After all those boring things happened, the things got really interesting but it ended so abruptly like how she recovered nothing.

I absolutely loved reading about Onyx and Angel, I probably enjoyed this book the most out of them all however there just are a few plot holes which don’t tie up….
Cooper and Angels joint hate for eachother it never really gets explored, yet it’s made such a big deal of and yet it can’t just be the incident in the library, it wasn’t ever really fleshed out despite being made such a big deal of, despite Cooper being there to help her, and then at the hospital too, then with him randomly calling her babe in front of Onyx? Like we are expected Onyx to just let that fly? Makes no sense.
I can’t believe this was all done over a client list and a man being told no….. I wish it had been a bit more explored with her hospital and recovery, it just kinda went so quick towards the end….
She was abducted, hospital, home, party and up to that point Onyx had barely been mentioned, then an epilogue of them having sex. It just felt rushed and I wish we could’ve seen that softer and more protective side of Onyx during her recovery.
All in all, not a bad series. I enjoyed my time with them
All. Except Mia, she is just a brat.

Ruthless Ambition by Eve L. Mitchell is the bonus stand-alone story we all needed following the Ruthless Devils series. Onyx and Angel had chemistry and history that we all could see would be explosive, but this story is far from expected and blows the enemies to lovers trope out of the water with adding in office romance, suspense and two strong characters who know exactly what they want and how to get it.
The undeniable attraction between these two is like fire and ice, with desire and hate rolling off Angel and Onyx right from the first chapter, as their rivalry has started from college and lead into their professional careers.
Onyx is a one hell of an alphahole who also has a wicked playfulness to him, whilst he also maintains the highest barriers and hatred to those who are not part of his inner circle. Aka the alphahole of epic proportions. Whereas Angel has badass bitchy vibes with a temper to match, an underlying strength and even innocence. Along with the intelligence to outwit those around her. All of this and more, make Onyx and Angel’s characters some of the best Eve L. Mitchell has written.
The story progresses through finding out who Angel’s mystery stalker is and the impact this has on her life, all the while the history of Angel, Onyx and the Devils are revealed. Their office banter, teasing and straight out hatred towards one another is also a key part that makes the story addictive to read. Their relationship might be slow burn, but for me that’s not the main focus of the story and I enjoyed the detailed focus on the situations and world created around these characters, and how plot unraveled.
The story is told from dual POV’s from both Angel and Onyx, which gives the reader the much needed insight to both of them.
Favourite quote: “That was the charm of Onyx Santo: he didn’t discriminate; he hated everyone equally.”
Sidenotes: This story is completely separate from the 3 books in the Ruthless Devils series. Whilst Onyx appears briefly in that series, the main characters from those books aren’t a main focus of Ruthless Ambition, which does make this a true stand-alone.
Additionally, there are some character crossovers from other series with their names, but again these have no impact on the overall story.
There are some elements which might be triggering to sensitive readers.

Six years ago, Angel made a mistake for a Devil, and has regretted it ever since. Now she’s working for his company as a successful sports agent, and he’s making every moment of it a living hell. Despite their animosity, when she discovers she has a stalker, and the police are unable to help her, she turns to the one man she knows she shouldn’t. As tensions rise the more she is threatened, she knows she needs to stay far away from him, but he has been able to read her since that first night, and although she knows he’s probably the bigger threat, there’s no place safer for her than in his arms.
After their time together in University, Onyx never wanted to see Angel again, so when she was hired for his sports agency without him knowing, he tried everything to get rid of her. Now he prides himself on stealing her clients and making it clear how unwanted she is, but when he realizes she’s being threatened, he reaches out to the friends who helped him destroy her 6 years ago to try to keep her safe. But hate and love are two sides of the same coin, and his obsession quickly takes a different shape.
In the rest of the Devils books, Onyx was the dysfunctional older brother with dark secrets of his own, so I was thrilled to get to read his story. He and Angel were clearly on a collision course right from the first page, and I loved their banter (and how she’s the one person unafraid to put him in his place). Yet even with all their animosity, I loved how Angel knew she could trust him when it mattered most, and although he tried to make her regret it, he dropped everything for her. When they finally collided, the fallout was everything I’d hoped it would be, and as they came to terms with their feelings, it was clear that there was no one else for either of them.

Well, I'm back again and can you believe the speed I'm getting through this series!?
After absolutely devouring Ruthless Heart in January and Ruthless Desire in February, I once again was shocked to discover that this book 3 in The Ruthless Devils series was already coming up for release.
Did I grab this with both hands - absolutely!!
I love nothing more at the moment than a dark and morally great MMC and this series has them in abundance.
This book sees Onyx and Angel navigating working together, depsite their rocky past, Angel knows that she owes him, but danger is ever present.
When someone else comes on the scene and threatens Angel, there's only one person she knows will keep her safe - even if it is better then devil you know!
This book had me hooked from the start and I just can't get enough of the darkness in this series.
Yes, there are some tough topics to explore, but I think these are written with such care and it really adds tension and gritty reality to the storyline.
I loved the way Onyx steps up and protects what's his and of course the sparks fly and the pair jus can't deny the chemistry they have.
This was such a great read and I couldn't put it down once again.
The dual pov chapters means that we get a real sense of who our characters are and it's great to see the events from both sides (as well as all the emotions flying around)
Another great read and I can't wait to see more from this author soon.

This was the final book in the series—and probably my favourite overall.
This was the final book in the series—and probably my favourite overall.
Don’t get me wrong, I still found the MMCs a bit too cruel towards the FMC at times, which isn’t usually my preference. I tend to enjoy a more protective, possessive dynamic rather than pushing things that far.
That said, the storyline in this one was really strong. It felt more complete, more engaging, and I found myself properly invested in how everything would wrap up. There was plenty of tension, drama, and emotion to keep me hooked right until the end.
I’ve read all four books back-to-back, which says a lot—I was clearly invested in the series and the characters.
Overall, a solid ending to the series and definitely worth the read if you enjoy darker romance with intense dynamics.

✨Eve L Mitchell strikes again! Phew!! Talk about an enemies to lovers trope! This right here is no joke. The MMC and FMC truly HATED one another. Onyx made sure to mess with Angel at their workplace and he had no regrets about it either. These two have a heated history stemming back from college and it seems to have only gotten worse when Angel ends up working at Onyx’s company.
✨Angel ends up having a sta!ker and the one person she knows can keep her safe is the same person she despises. This book had so many twists and turns that even if you think you’ve figured it out, you’re probably wrong! 🤣 If you’re looking for a romantic suspense, then I would definitely add this to your TBR!

⭐⭐⭐⭐
A dark, addictive romance packed with tension, obsession and plenty of touch her and die vibes! 🖤 I really enjoyed the push and pull between Onyx and Angel, especially watching their enemies-to-lovers relationship develop. Onyx is cold, possessive, protective and deliciously morally grey — exactly the kind of MMC you know you shouldn’t love, but do anyway. 😂🔥
The added danger and stalker element kept me hooked and gave the story that extra bit of suspense. Dark, angsty, possessive and seriously addictive! 🌹🖤

The suspense and sexual tension in the book was captivating and kept my attention, but the MMC was terrible to the FMC 90% of the book and never groveled. I love a good possessive male in a dark romance, but not just territorial. He has to actually have a soul to be a villain I care for and I wasn’t convinced any of the “Devils,” except Jer, did. Some of the things they said/did to her were unforgivable to me (especially without some groveling). Love a stronger FMC- she deserved better. The writing was great, but the characters left a lot to be desired.

Onxy and Angel have a sordid past. A one night stand that did not end well. And now she works for him. Their relationship is competitive and contentious. But when Angel is being threatened by a mysterious stalker, Onyx steps in. And sparks start to fly.
If you like your mmc morally grey, I highly recommend this one. You'll love Onyx.

A good read that kept me engaged
RUTHLESS AMBITION, Ruthless Devils Book 4 by EVE L. MITCHELL: 5 stars
This story has a nice pace, great characters, and a good storyline that kept me engaged. Angel/Onyx are both strong, independent, and stubborn. Adversaries professionally, with a history that culminated with an enemy status. Until Angel is threatened by a stalker, and Onyx (and the devils) are all in with “devils justice”. Justice is pursued and feelings come out…

Angel and Onyx, a match made in deep hate and competition. He steals her clients and she makes his life hell in the boardroom.
Things take a turn when Angel discovers she has a stalker and of course, Onyx cannot let that fly as a devil.
Things get hot and steamy between the two as things get more scary with the stalker.
I loved the series with the 3 younger family members and Onyx does not disappoint in this book.

This was such an enjoyable read. I enjoyed the other books in the series and Ruthless Ambition certainly didn't disappoint. I love the enemies to lovers troupe and the author did it well. I loved Angel and Onyx's slow burn steamy chemistry and I wanted them to have their happy ending. There were some sensitive subjects but the author handled these with care. The story was beautifully written and I was swept away with the characters. Overall a brilliant novel that I highly recommend to other readers.

A fun book. I would have given it five stars but unfortunately it normalizes choking which is a really bad idea as it is extremely dangerous.
