About the author

I never planned to collect quite so many jobs in publishing, but here we are. I'm an award-winning young adult author, a senior editor and ghostwriter at Eschler Editing, and the EVP and COO of Roan & Weatherford Publishing, where I oversee the young adult and romance imprints while trying to keep up with the ever-changing world of book marketing. Along the way, I've worked with traditional publishers, literary agents, and hundreds of incredible writers, which means I've had the privilege of seeing stories from just about every side of the publishing desk.

Whether I'm writing my own novels or helping another author shape theirs, my favorite part is solving story problems. I love untangling messy plots, strengthening characters, and finding the heart of a story. Even more, I love helping writers learn to think like editors without losing the joy that made them want to write in the first place.

When I'm not editing, writing, or wearing one of my many publishing hats, you'll usually find me dreaming up my next book, chatting with writers at conferences, or hanging out with my husband two daughters, and three dogs.

We delve back into the life of Annagrey in this second book. 6 months have passed and Annagrey has been struggling with who she is and where she really fits. Does she fit with the humans and the world she grew up in or does she fit in the Realm? Cross and Coyote come to tell her about things that have happened since she left the Realm specially about red fox wasols going missing. Annagrey goes back “home” ( or where she was born) to help find the missing fox girls since she feels she is responsible for their disappearance. While in the Realm she learns more of her birth home and how things function. Can she embrace being a princess of the realm or is she just a human who doesn’t know how this world works and doesn’t fit in anywhere. Follow along on this amazing new adventure and see how much she grows.
I loved how Annagrey was feeling lost and not sure where she fit or if she even fit in anywhere yet when a problem arose she put aside her misconceptions to help. While doing this she finds herself as well. Once again Lindsay has create a story that everyone can relate to. I saw myself in Anna a lot and enjoyed watching her hero’s journey!

This was a good sequel to a good series starter. The second book advances the overall plot of the series as we see AnnaGrey return to the Laéth Realm to try to save the Red Fox Girls who are disappearing. The main plot is a standard fantasy story, but we also see the battle that AnnaGrey is having with leaving the real world, where she has spent her whole life, and returning to the world she was born to. Her struggle of fitting in is so real for the intended audience of these books.

As the story advances we learn more about the history of the Laéth Realm and how the different groups fit together. I will confess to being confused about several of the groups - I am not sure about the difference between warsol and the aeobanach or the incarnate and the amorphous warsols, but it doesn't make the story a hopeless muddle for me. I just think it might be all of the different ethnicities in one story, or else I was reading too fast because the book was, in fact, quite exciting.

I am curious to read the "prequel" The Red Wraith but I am wondering why it is described as YA when this series is clearly Middle Grade. I guess I will find out soon.

Lindsay Flanagan does an excellent job in this sequel to AnnaGrey and the Constellation. AnnaGrey’s father is dying of homesickness for the Laéthian Realm now that he knows there is a way to return to it. Cross and Coyote show up in the human realm to tell AnnaGrey and her parents about the missing Red Fox Girls (Warsol girls with red hair, like AnnaGrey).
A decision is made to take AnnaGrey’s father back to Laéth and AnnaGrey insists on going. The adventure she ends up having is incredibly risky and so exciting to read about.
This is definitely a 5 star read and one I will always enjoy returning to.

Who says you can't go home? Or in AnnaGrey's case, leave home to return to the Realm, where she was born, but has only been in once since she was a baby. When word reaches her that Red Fox girls are being kidnapped, she knows that she needs to go back and stop it.

Filled with adventure, pirates, magic, and heart, the second book in the Laéth Realm Adventures is a delightful read. Reuniting with old friends and meeting new ones, as well as new and old enemies, the adventure sweeps you along.

Lindsay's prose pulls you deep into the world she's built — from the first book I was completely hooked, and AnnaGrey and the Red Fox Girls picks up right where that magic left off. There's a richness to the Laéth Realm that makes you feel submerged in it rather than just reading about it. If you're looking for a new adventure series with beautiful world-building and storytelling that only gets stronger with each installment, start here and don't stop. I can't wait to see where this series goes next.

This was another amazing book that would be perfect for a youth or adult who loves magic, quests, and strong female characters! The writing and romance were clean, there was admitted attraction, but that was as far as the romance went, and the adventure was nonstop! I loved the respect, kindness, courage, and close knit friendships that were shown in this tale! It did help to have read book one, so I would recommend that. I received an ARC copy and this is my review.

Lindsay Flanagan's AnnaGrey and the Red Fox Girls is the kind of fantasy that reminds me why I love reading. It’s filled with magic, adventure, and an imaginative world! But the heart of this story is the struggle to figure out where you belong. AnnaGrey is a heroine readers will root for from the very first page!

Genuine characters. Warm, wonderful relationships. And an exciting page-turner! It’s a beautiful story about discovering your place in the world.
