Lindsey Coffey has spent her life trying to forget bad memories. The once-thriving artist sold everything she had for a tiny beach house in the cozy town of Lewes. Now struggling to support her aging grandmother, she’s on the eve of her 40th birthday with little to her name—and chronically single.
Leo Brigman never talks about his past. The town’s new handyman is a kind-hearted soul who’s quick to help anyone who asks—and when Lindsey’s snooping makes an awkward scene in the local grocery store, he’s more than happy to fix up her beach house in exchange for a place to park his RV.
But sometimes, the past follows you.
Because someone is snooping around, searching about Leo—and asking questions he doesn’t want to answer. And when Lindsey lets a young hitchhiker bunk in her house, she quickly begins to realize that this girl is no stranger...
Will digging up old memories bring more pain than good? Or should Lindsey and Leo stop running from the past and learn to embrace it instead?
As a feel-good summer romance that’s perfect for fans of second chances and later-in-life love, The Shoreline House series is a clean & cozy beach read by bestselling author Grace Meyers that you won’t want to miss.
Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
I am invested in this new series because it has a mystery that feels as if it ties to Lindsey's past and probably Leo's as well. Elisabeth turns out to be more than a runaway and for some reason is snooping around Lindsey's things looking for something. Now that Elisabeth was caught with her hands in the cookie jar, what will she say to Lindsey that will explain her actions. It will be interesting to learn about Leo's background and is Lindsey's grandma putting the pieces together regarding a big secret Lindey has been hiding for years?? I cannot wait to find out!!
Lindsey realizes she might have made a mistake about the relationship between Leo and Elizabeth. Somehow she believes they are telling the truth.
Why is an 18 year old girl hitchhiking by herself? What kind of strange vibe is Nani picking up about Elizabeth? Why would Leo offer to make repairs without pay?
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
