The highly anticipated follow-up to All the Little Houses
From the USA Today bestselling author of The Hunting Wives (now a hit Netflix series) comes a deliciously wicked stand-alone sequel to All the Little Houses, as the fallout from an utterly unexpected death reverberates over every margarita and through every pine-lined street down in Texas.
Longview is a place quite familiar with social scandal and unsolved crimes, but now that the queen has fallen from her throne, there's more at stake than just pinning a murder on someone. For those who would relish their own empire, like a certain trad wife or a deviously ambitious daughter, the town crown is there for the taking—if you're not taken to jail first.
No one is innocent here, not in the land of big hair and bigger mischief. You can't get what you want without a little collateral damage—and everything’s bigger in Texas.
May Cobb is the bestselling author of All The Little Houses and The Hunting Wives, soon to be a series on Netflix. Her previous novels include The Hollywood Assistant, A Likeable Woman, My Summer Darlings, and Big Woods. She earned her MA in literature from San Francisco State University and her essays and interviews have appeared in The Washington Post, Texas Highways, Good Housekeeping, and more. A Texas native, she lives in Austin with her family.
I’m so invested in the Longview world of rich people drama, messy relationships and people making spectacularly bad decisions that I needed answers after how All the Little Houses ended. Thankfully, All the Little Secrets delivered exactly what I was hoping for.
Picking up right where Book 1 left off, we’re thrown straight back into the fallout. The Andersen and Swift families are still causing chaos, the Boat House gossipers are still doing what they do best, and I was completely invested in every bit of it.
I’d been hanging for this sequel ever since finishing All the Little Houses, so the second it landed on my Kindle it jumped straight to the top of my TBR. At around 400 pages, I absolutely inhaled it. Its predecessor was over 400 pages as well, yet I somehow tore through both of them. I genuinely didn’t want to put this down.
One of my biggest frustrations with All the Little Houses was how abruptly it ended. After spending an entire book becoming invested in these characters, it felt like the brakes were slammed on right when things were getting good. This time around, May Cobb gives readers the payoff. The questions I’d been carrying around since finishing Book 1 are answered, loose ends are tied up, and the ending felt genuinely satisfying.
Despite finally getting the answers I was chasing, I’m still not ready to leave Longview. So here’s my formal petition: if there’s a Book 3, spin-off, novella, or any excuse at all to revisit these characters, sign me up, Sally. There are still a few storylines I’d love to see play out, and honestly, I just don’t think I’m done being nosy about the Andersen and Swift families yet.
Am I being greedy? Probably. But that’s just how addictive I’ve found these books to be.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for sending me an ARC copy of All the Little Secrets.
I didn’t realize going in that this was the second book in the series, and I haven’t read the first one. Thankfully, I never felt like I was missing anything important or struggled to follow along.
I ate this one up. The wealthy family drama, secrets, and tension kept me fully invested from start to finish. If you love messy family dynamics and twists that keep you guessing, add this one to your list.
Huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC! 3.5 stars!! WOOOOOW this book was a lot in a short time- i absolutely flew through it!! The characters were all infuriating in their own way, but also sort of endearing and they each have redeeming qualities that make them better. Also- getting Charleigh’s perspective?! I loooved that!!!! I only with the Abigail would’ve gotten some sort of punishment for killing Jane’s mother and for being so very awful to Nellie. And OMG Nellie! She was terrible ( i mean she killed her mother) but also i love her?? Great book with spectacular inner monologue!!

Thank you to Net galley and Sourcebooks for the ARC of this title. I was thrilled to receive this book! The follow up to All The Little Houses. I haven’t stopped thinking about that book and the characters since I read it last year. This book was the perfect ending to the story for every character! I jumped right back into the mess. All the Little Secrets starts seconds after Charleigh’s murder. Nellie is at it again, trying to spin her little story and suck Luke back in. This book packed a few punches and I was thrilled with how it ended. If the first book left you wanting more, this one will give you everything you needed! Solid 5 stars!
Oh my gosh, May Cobb did it again! 😱🔥If you thought All the Little Houses was pure chaos, just wait until you dive into this one. All the Little Secrets is absolutely scandalous from start to finish. I am still processing all the juicy, messy drama!!
I was so relieved that this book perfectly wraps up all those lingering plot lines and unanswered questions left dangling from the first book. It picks right up after that explosive cliffhanger. We finally get real answers about the elite, power-hungry Andersen family dynasty and the cutthroat social politics of Longview, Texas. Getting to see Charleigh and Nellie deal with the fallout of their secrets was so satisfying, and it gives you total closure instead of leaving you guessing.
It is fast, sultry, shocking, and just a flat-out great read. The 1980s East Texas vibes are immaculate, the chapters fly by, and the toxic family grudges are turned up to an eleven. If you love soapy, small-town thrillers with tons of dirty secrets, you need to add this to your shelf immediately!
Finally, my wait is over! The very Texan queen of scandal, secrets, toxic family drama, jaw-dropping twists, and pant-meltingly hot scenes is back—and I am screaming, celebrating, and ready to crown May Cobb once again! At this point, she is not simply writing domestic thrillers; she is serving deliciously messy, wildly addictive, Southern-fried chaos with a side of murder, revenge, lust, betrayal, and characters who should probably all be in therapy—but where would the fun be in that?
May Cobb is clearly having one of the most productive and well-deserved eras of her career. Between this highly anticipated sequel and the upcoming second season of The Hunting Wives, we fans are being treated like royalty. And honestly, I could not be happier about it!
But let’s talk about this sequel, because it came exactly when I needed it. The first book left me emotionally wrecked, confused, furious, and desperate for answers. I reached the final pages with my mouth open, yelling internally, “Excuse me? What do you mean that is where we are ending this?!” I needed to know whether Nellie would get away with everything. I needed to know what truly happened to Charleigh. And most importantly, I needed justice, revenge, chaos, and another invitation into this deliciously toxic world.
If you were one of those readers who finished the first book screaming, “What the heck?! Is Nellie really going to get away with this?” and wondering how Charleigh—the ultimate evil queen—could possibly be dead, then you are absolutely going to understand my excitement.
However, if you have not read the first book and intend to begin this series in order, please stop reading my review right now. Go start from the beginning, because you need to experience every toxic relationship, every twisted manipulation, every shocking betrayal, and every gloriously scandalous moment exactly as it was meant to unfold. This series is pure 1980s Texas drama in the best possible way—imagine Dallas meeting Flamingo Road, with Southern Gothic darkness, domestic-thriller tension, rich people behaving terribly behind mansion doors, and women who would absolutely sharpen their nails before entering a catfight.
Because in this small town, nothing is ever simple. Social-class differences, money, lust, ambition, family loyalty, jealousy, secrets, and revenge are all tangled together in the most entertaining way possible. The wealthy may believe they control the town, the narrative, and the people around them, but May Cobb constantly reminds us that nobody is safe when the truth starts crawling out from under the rug.
The story begins exactly where the previous installment left off. Charleigh—my favorite evil queen—is dead, and I am still not emotionally over it. Nellie, her not-so-sweet but mostly psychotic daughter, is determined to avenge Luke, the man her own mother bribed to date her. Nellie is ready to throw blame wherever it best serves her own agenda, while Abigail begins her own vicious plan involving the newly widowed Alexander—despite Nellie’s wishes and, perhaps, Charleigh’s vengeful ghostly presence.
And yes, our queen returns in ghostly form!
Charleigh appears through POV chapters, waking up in different places and watching the people she left behind. Her sharp, vicious, hilarious commentary from beyond the grave was entertaining, and I loved getting pieces of her perspective again. She is still dramatic, still cruel, still fabulous, and still somehow the most unforgettable person in the room—even when she is technically no longer in it.
Jackson may be the only person who truly grieves her death, and his determination to uncover what happened to her gave the story an emotional pulse beneath all the gossip, lies, and manipulation. Meanwhile, the town’s gossiping housewives are already several steps ahead, making assumptions about Charleigh’s death before the authorities can even catch up. Detective Walker, however, seems far too willing to accept Luke’s conviction, even though so many details feel suspicious and simply do not add up.
So what happens next? Will Charleigh’s real murderer finally be exposed and put behind bars? Will the villainesses succeed in carrying out their wicked plans? Who will win? Who will suffer? Who will betray the people closest to them? And who will learn that revenge is never as simple—or as satisfying—as it first appears?
You have to read it and find out!
My only small hesitation in giving this book a full five stars is that I truly missed Charleigh as a living, breathing character. Her ghostly appearances were fun, clever, and full of her signature bite, but they were not enough for me. I wanted more of her. I wanted her in every room, stirring trouble, manipulating people, making terrible decisions, and reminding everyone why she was the most fascinating character in this entire universe. She was layered, strong, vicious, magnetic, and beautifully constructed. Compared to her, many of the other characters feel like either straightforward villains or flawed men desperately trying to survive the chaos around them.
Still, this was a steamy, entertaining, perfectly paced mystery-meets-domestic-thriller that I devoured with a huge smile on my face. The twists kept me engaged, the drama kept me invested, the secrets kept coming, and the ending felt satisfying and fair. I was entertained, shocked, frustrated, delighted, and completely absorbed from beginning to end—which is exactly what I want from a May Cobb novel.
May Cobb has an undeniable talent for creating messy, scandalous, addictive worlds filled with characters you may not always like, but absolutely cannot stop watching. She makes me want to grab popcorn, lock the door, ignore my responsibilities, and keep turning pages until my eyes hurt.
I truly adore her talent, and I cannot wait to read whatever twisted, sexy, shocking story she gives us next!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for sharing this addictive mystery by one of my auto-approved queens in exchange for my honest thoughts, which I highly appreciate.
"All the little houses, all the little secrets, all the crazy people..." No one writes unhinged characters quite like May Cobb!
All the Little Secrets is the highly anticipated sequel to Cobb’s All the Little Houses, and after the cliffhanger of the first book, I was beyond thrilled to receive an early copy. The story picks up exactly where its predecessor left off, taking the reader on a wild, multi-perspective rollercoaster. Even Charleigh—despite her demise in the first installment—gets a voice here, a creative touch that added wonderful depth to the narrative.
A Masterful Continuation
The plot centers on Detective Walker’s efforts to solve the murder of Charleigh Andersen, while the rest of the town reels from the fallout. Often, sequels fail to capture the magic of the original, but All the Little Secrets is a seamless extension of Cobb’s previous masterpiece. The book manages to wrap up every lingering question with a satisfying bow, providing much-needed closure for this cast of beautifully "unhinged" characters. The pacing is relentless; I truly could not put it down, desperate to see what this chaotic group would do next. The inhabitants of Longview, Texas, will certainly be staying on my mind for a long time.
More Than Just a Thriller
While All the Little Secrets is a domestic thriller at its core, it carries distinct literary fiction vibes. I was particularly struck by the exploration of Charleigh’s perspective. I expected her ghost to be fueled by rage toward Nellie, but in a display of true maternal instinct, she simply wanted her daughter to be happy. As a parent, that theme resonated deeply with me—it felt incredibly authentic and moving.
Final Thoughts
The conclusion is chaotic in the best way possible, organized with such precision that the story never dragged. I was on the edge of my seat for the final 20%, waiting to see how the pieces would fall.
If you are a fan of Shari Lapena or Lisa Jewell, this is a must-read. All the Little Secrets is everything I look for in a domestic thriller, and I know I will be revisiting this duology again.
Rating: 5/5 Stars

Longview, Texas has never exactly been a beacon of good judgment, and after the jaw-dropping events of 𝘈𝘓𝘓 𝘛𝘏𝘌 𝘓𝘐𝘛𝘛𝘓𝘌 𝘏𝘖𝘜𝘚𝘌𝘚, the fallout is spreading faster than gossip at Sunday brunch. With one queen bee gone, everyone seems eager to claim the crown, whether they're a picture-perfect trad wife, an ambitious daughter, or someone with enough secrets buried beneath their designer boots to sink an oil rig. As alliances shift and old grudges bubble back to the surface, it becomes clear that in Longview, murder may be shocking for about five minutes, but social climbing is forever.
Nobody writes sultry, salacious Southern chaos quite like May Cobb. Every chapter feels like eavesdropping on the most scandalous conversation at the country club while simultaneously watching a train derail in slow motion. These characters aren't your run-of-the-mill messy; they are Texas-sized messy; the kind of messy that requires legal representation, a therapist, and possibly an exorcist. I spent this entire book watching people make spectacularly questionable decisions and feeling smug until I remembered some of MY questionable decisions. The tension simmers beneath every margarita, every sideways glance, every perfectly curated smile hiding a knife behind its back.
As a conclusion to this deliciously wild duology, this could not have been more satisfying. The real danger isn't always murder. Sometimes it's ego or ambition. Sometimes it's a woman with enough charm to convince everyone she's innocent while the entire town burns behind her. Everything here is bigger than Texas: the secrets, the betrayals, the grudges, and the audacity. So many thanks to Sourcebooks for this thrilling early copy that will publish November 17, 2026.
Thank you to NetGalley, SOURCEBOOKS Landmark, and May Cobb for providing me with an advance reader copy (ARC) of All the Little Secrets. I am grateful for the opportunity to read and review this book. All opinions are my own.
Welcome back to Longview, Texas, where secrets never stay buried, everyone has something to hide, and no one is ever quite who they seem.
May Cobb has done it again. All the Little Secrets pulled me in from the very first chapter and refused to let go. Filled with family drama, obsession, betrayal, and plenty of twists, this is the kind of thriller that keeps you saying, “Just one more chapter.”
One of my favorite aspects of the novel is its unique narrative style. It adds an unexpected layer to the mystery and gives the story so much personality. It was a bold creative choice, and I absolutely loved it.
The characters are wonderfully messy, flawed, and impossible to ignore. I found myself constantly questioning everyone’s motives, changing my theories, and wondering who I could actually trust. Every chapter revealed another secret or shifted my perspective in a way that kept me completely invested.
If you enjoy character-driven thrillers filled with small-town scandals, dysfunctional families, morally gray characters, and nonstop drama, this is definitely one to add to your TBR.
I’ve really enjoyed May Cobb’s books, and All the Little Secrets is another entertaining addition to her collection.
Publication Date: November 17, 2026 Publisher: SOURCEBOOKS Landmark
This book was a whole lot of fun, with more horrible people doing horrible things than even in the last book! It was nice to jump back in with these familiar characters, who clearly haven't learned anything since we last left them. The focus of this book is on finding out who committed a murder, but beyond that there are multiple scandalous love triangles at play. The chapters alternate in POV and are short and easy to read.
There is no one likable in this book but I did almost feel for Nellie sometimes- all kinds of insane stuff was going on around her, but of course she did a lot of that to herself. Jackson was the most likable person in the book and it felt like he actually tried to do the right thing when he could. Beyond that, it's just fun to read about all the lying and back-stabbing that everyone is doing to each other. I really liked the way it ended, where all loose ends were tied up; even though there were some shocking revelations, I felt like my questions were answered (though I wouldn't be sorry to check in on these characters again in a later book!).
Overall, you know what you are getting when you pick up this book, but it's a good escape from more serious content into the world of the privileged and incorrigible, and hard to put down! Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Thanks NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review!
3.5 stars rounded up
I love Mary Cobb's writing (and fun fact, the Hunting Wives was one of my first reviews!), so I was really excited when I got this ARC for All the Little Secrets. This is a sequel to All The Little Houses and picks up right where the prior book left off.
Cobb is the queen of writing OTT characters, and I eat it up every time. Like it's predecessor, this is a small-town, soapy, 1980s read with lots of morally awful characters, doing terrible things. However that said, I couldn't stop reading about them, and what crazy things they would do next. Sometimes I wished there was a bit more depth to the characters, besides being horrible (albeit, funny), as they felt a tad one-dimensional. The novel also veers to ridiculously unbelievable at a few points but if you are just along for the ride, it's a fun time. It is humorous and entertaining, and I devoured it in a day. Cobb does wrap things up in this nicely, though selfishly I wanted to know a bit more once it ended!
All in all this is a fun beach read, and one that is highly addictive, and will make you laugh (if you are okay with all of the main characters being terrible people).
It was a very cold day this past January that I devoured All the Little Houses by this author. That cliffhanger left me stunned. May Cobb writes books that will make you blush, cackle, and have so much fun reading, it feels sinful. This new one is no exception. I couldn’t put it down. I loved every page. And as always, this author leaves you wanting more.
All the Little Secrets picks up exactly where we left off. There was a murder, and Detective Walker is going to solve it. I want to make a list of everything that shocked me, made me angry, and made me yell out loud. But I won’t. I will not spoil anything here! This story is told from multiple POVs, and they were fantastic. This book is fun and shocking. It is exactly what you expect from May Cobb. And the ending - wow!
This book releases in November, so if you haven’t read the first one, this is your sign.
Thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for the opportunity to read this one early. I loved it! May Cobb is an auto buy author for me, and this book will be no different. It releases on November 17th.
I've been waiting to get my hands on this book ever since book one left me reeling on the edge of a cliff, and what a crazy ride! I'm so glad to finally have a resolution to all of the drama and wicked behavior that captivated me from the first book. I really think this duology should be called All the Horrible People. The majority of the characters were truly deplorable, but it didn't stop me from following along with my popcorn like a stalker. The entertainment was worthy of an Oscar. The ending was abrupt and not as strong as I would have liked, but it sufficed. At the 98% mark, there was still quite a bit happening. I was very worried that Cobb was going to pull another vanishing act and ghost us again. Thankfully, she didn't torture us with the waiting game this time. I can't rave about this two-book series enough! They were fun, suspenseful, and the best guilty pleasures I've read in quite a while. HIGHLY recommend!!!
Thank you to Sourcebooks Landmark and NetGalley for granting me a digital ARC in exchange for my honest review!
I requested this one immediately because I absolutely love May Cobb, and it did not disappoint. I loved the first book, so I had high expectations going into the sequel, and somehow it still exceeded them. I flew through this book and never wanted to put it down.
May Cobb has such a talent for creating messy relationships, simmering tension, and characters you can’t stop reading about even when they’re making terrible decisions. The story kept me hooked from beginning to end, and I loved getting to spend more time in this world.
If you enjoyed the first book, this is a must-read. It has all the suspense, drama, and addictive storytelling I’ve come to expect from May Cobb. Another winner for me.
This book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading All The Little Houses first to get the full scope of the deliciously twisted people of the tiny town of Longview, Texas. All The Little Secrets is just as good as its prequel. I was thrilled to revisit with Nellie, Jane, Luke and all the wicked inhabitants of Longview. May Cobb’s writing is like candy. You just can’t stop eating it up. The multiple POV is done to perfection and I could not wait to dig into each new chapter. This book is a cancel all your plans, buckle up, and enjoy the ride kind of book. Am I too greedy to wish for a third installment? Thank you so much to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Landmark for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
All the Little Secrets by May Cobb was one of my most anticipated reads of the year! I absolutely loved All the Little Houses, and the second I heard there was going to be a sequel, I knew I had to get my hands on it. The author once again delivers everything I love in a Southern drama…juicy secrets, scandalous behavior, complicated relationships, lies piled on top of lies, and characters who make terrible decisions that I couldn’t stop reading about! The story and pacing was so addictive, and I loved that no one felt completely innocent, which made the shifting alliances and power struggles even more entertaining. Salacious, dramatic, and impossible to put down, All the Little Secrets is another five star winner!
This is like a soap opera in a book. Seriously. I didn’t think it was possible for me to hate all of these characters more than I did in the first book but here we are (also DO NOT pick this up until you have read All the Little Houses because you will be COMPLETELY lost). Despite hating the characters, I did like this book. It was a super quick read, and I wasn’t sure at all how it would wrap up (and reading this, I’m not sure at all how I thought the first book was a complete story!). And while the ending left a few things to be desired, I think that this was done about the best it could’ve in this insanely soap-opera-esque tale.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wow! I need a shower and a mind cleansing after this one. May Cobb starts this sequel right where All the Little Houses left off with the bang-boom cliffhanger! These people are messy, raunchy, and they gobble and spit out other people with no remorse or fear of consequence. The 80's Texas vibe shines through every chapter. This town is jammed full of dirty secrets and ulterior motives. No one can be trusted. These power-hungry, horny-toad people disgusted me and I loved it. I can't get enough of this soapy, sultry, hotter-than-hell Texas town! What a delicious read by one of my all time favorite authors. Thank you Sourcebooks and Edelweiss for the advanced copy.
All the Little Secrets is packed with flawed characters, messy choices, and nonstop drama, making it a very bingeable read. It felt like a TV drama waiting to happen, with plenty of scandal, secrets, and shifting loyalties. The pace slowed down in a few places, but the constant revelations kept me invested. Set in a small town full of wealthy residents and hidden agendas, the murder mystery unfolds in a way that keeps the tension high, even when everyone seems to know who is responsible. A juicy, entertaining read from start to finish! Highly recommend!
All the Little Secrets By: May Cobb Pub Day: November 17, 2026 Publisher: Sourcebooks Landmark
After reading All the Little Houses, I knew we were probably getting a sequel. This is the perfect follow-up. Back in Longview and my favorite character Nelly and her bad behavior.
More scandal, and twist that kept my interest. Who will stand in her way now? What is she up to now? Has she changed her ways? Of course NOT! What fun would that be?
Just as juicy and fun. A character worth so many stories! Do yourself a favor and read All the Little Houses and then devour this one coming soon.
I would love to see this on Netflix as well. She is the queen of Texas drama and scandal.
I was thrilled to get my hands on an early copy of this title. I loved and devoured All the Little Houses. This one picks up immediately after the ending of the first books and is just as unputdownable as its predecessor. I flew through this in 1-2 sittings. It wasn't the most thrilling or twisty of thrillers, but it is so additive and bingeable. I need to check out more titles from Cobb if this is what to expect from this author!
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I didn’t think this town could get any messier but this book proved me wrong!
I loved All the Little Houses so I was super excited to dive into this sequel. Nobody is perfect in this book. They make terrible decisions, they’re complicated and VERY frustrating…. But I could not get enough of them! This one picks right up after the last book ended and there are secrets, lies and people who would do anything to protect themselves.
If you loved the first one be sure to pick this up! If you didn’t read the first one yet, what’re you waiting for?!
This book reads like a wild soap opera. It picks up right where the last book left off and draws you in with secrets, plotting, intrigue and relationships. I thought the drama in book 1 was wild and this book takes it up a couple notches.
The POV of Charleigh was my favorite. How she was rooting for Nellie even after her death.
Everybody has secrets and they are all coming out.
Thank you Netgalley, Sourcebooks Landmark and May Cobb for my ARC of a juicy, salacious and spectacularly sexy romp of a story. I read All The Little Houses last year and it was so good but... All The Little Secrets was AMAZING! So much drama and I looooved every second of it too!
