Stop me if you're heard this one Prince meets mysterious girl at party, Prince falls head-over-heels for said pretty girl, girl flees at midnight, girl leaves shoe behind, Prince uses abandoned shoe to find her again. It's the basic Cinderella story that everyone knows. But then what? What if the classic characters are more than cardboard cutouts? What if Cinderella has difficulties adapting to her new role? What if the Prince's last lady-love left him with serious issues? What if their happily ever after isn't with each other? After the Cinderella story you only think you know. Because the ball is only the beginning.
I met Kat at her work place in Spokane and we somehow got on the subject of writing and self publishing. Being an indie author myself, I was curious. So I downloaded After Midnight and began to read. What I happily found was a smart twist on the Cinderella story, as well as some decent writing. The story was compelling enough that the few typos, grammar and punctuation errors didn't throw me off the scent. Congrats, young lady. You've created a lovely work of art.
