Thank you to A.L. Garr for an ARC!

Saving a Lion

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

I really enjoyed this one! I was delighted to see Mariah finally get her HEA after being introduced to her in the previous books. A resilient and strong-willed FMC, Mariah was a perfect mate for Donovan. After we got to see the pair fight side by side in Charmed by the Coyote, I could tell that there was chemistry between Mariah and Donovan, so I was excited to see how their relationship progressed. Donovan’s past was tragic, and although it caused him to feel inadequate for Mariah, she was able to tear down his walls and heal him with her love, and I loved every second of it. I hope we get to see a lot more of the pair in the stories about the other Eagle Creek shifters.

Choosing a Panther

I absolutely adored Max and Fawn‘s love story! This was probably one of the most emotional books in the series thus far and I ate it up. Max was strong, resilient, and unconditionally committed to Fawn. Even when his past caught up to him, Max put Fawn and her happiness as his top priority while still tackling his new duties. Fawn was a pillar of strength for Max and was able to accept Max‘s past graciously and with open arms. When her own past caught up with her, Fawn was resilient and stayed true to her heart. I loved Max and Fawn together and could feel their deep devotion to one another. Overall, this was one of my favorite books in the series!

Freeing a Wolf

I really enjoyed Rhys and Natasha‘s story. Childhood friends to strangers to lovers, Rhys and Natasha were truly destined to be mates. The way they had being pining for each other since childhood yet were both unable to recognize it until ending up in forced proximity as adults was freaking adorable. Natasha was such a strong and resilient FMC who didn’t need a man by her side, but was made unstoppable with Rhys. Rhys was charismatic, protective, and devoted to Natasha. Their love for one another was palpable and I rooted for them from the moment of their reunion. The spice between these two was hot and I loved every moment.

The Demon Mistress

I devoured Arabella and Jericho‘s story! I absolutely ate up the forbidden aspect of their relationship, with Arabella being a soul-collecting demon and Jericho being a healing angel. Arabella was a kick-ass FMC that unapologetically took what she wanted in life. Jericho was the perfect counterpart to Arabella with his good intentions and desire to sacrifice himself for the greatest good. He was a green flag MMC with a naughty side, and I loved him for Arabella. The plot in this one was fast-paced and action-packed, which kept me flying through the pages. The spice was well-written and added to the story. This one was incredible overall!

Each installment of the Fated Mates:Shifterverse only has me falling in love with all new characters even more. It’s truly a testament to A.L. Garr that can have you equally invested in each new short story, feeling like you truly know the characters and their back stories the way you would in a much longer novel. I truly loved the shifter politics and the way each standalone interconnected to the others to give you a clear picture of what was going on in this paranormal world. Between war and dealing with all the crazy realities of their secrets being outed to the world, you’d think love would have to be on the back burner. But the author does an excellent job of interlacing the relationship challenges with the other problems the shifters face, and you get equal parts plot and spice, love and lore. Definitely recommend these for anyone looking for a collection of which reads that leave a lasting impact!

Re-released under the new Romance with a Bite subtitle, the Eagle Creek Shifters collection of 3 main stories, an offshoot story plus a short tale is a passionate collection of that brings fates mates together under the most trying of circumstances. Each story is a standalone, however, as they all intertwine around events, some overlap is to be expected. Each couple has their challenges to overcome and their happiness to find.
