Known for making waves since his college days, Jashaun “Ocean” Howard relishes being single and has no interest in sharing his world with anyone.
Until he runs into an old fling and notices her daughter with a birthmark like his.
And his whole controlled life turns upside down when Ocean is unexpectedly thrust into fatherhood.
As Ocean navigates raising a headstrong child who immediately captures his heart, he is inexplicably drawn to his hot neighbor who seems frustratingly immune to his charms.
Until she isn’t.
For a man who wouldn’t trade his freedom for anything, he never expected love to be his everything. **Don't forget to check out the other books in The Single Dad Society Romeo by Delaney Diamond Enforcer by Synithia Williams
I want my readers to escape their realities and embark on a journey of self-exploration and love when they delve into my books. I have loved reading fiction, thrillers, and romance for years. Although my original (and still) writing interest was YA and self-help books, I received a surprise text one Valentine's Day, and wrote the very first chapter of a romance novel that day. And I became forever inspired to write contemporary and new adult romance - with a twist.

The single dad series started with a bang for me. The story was about Ocean finding out he was a dad, and the aftermath of that discovery. The lady he lusted after will play an integral part in this story.
I really enjoyed Jashaun and Soraya’s story 😊. Jashaun discovered he had a daughter he knew nothing about, while finally getting a real chance with someone he’d been pursuing—and striking out with—for quite a while 💘.
This was a quick read that delivered everything! 📚✨ It even had a small dose of jealous baby mama drama 👀. Watching Jashaun balance a new child (with some help from his mother), a budding relationship, and a demanding job kept things interesting.
Soraya was supportive and patient 🤍, but at one point she was ready to walk away due to Jashaun’s lack of acknowledgment of their relationship—especially when it came to his daughter and the time they spent together 😩.
In the end, everything worked out, making it a satisfying and heartfelt read 💕👏🏾.
I’m in love with the Single Dad Society series. I hope the authors add more books to it. This is the second book from it that I’ve read and I honestly couldn’t put it down. “Romeo” was great too! But this one gave me so much insight into how men feel being single dads. Of course we all make choices good or bad. We all know that there are also consequences in making those decisions. “Ocean” totally didn’t see this one coming and neither did I. Applause 👏🏾 to the men out there stepping up and being responsible and present in their children’s lives. I also loved how the author talked about it taking a village because as parents you need that village. So don’t be afraid to ask for help. See how caught up I am. LOL. Anyway make sure you grab a copy of all 3 books and get caught up. I’m about to read the “Enforcer.”
I really enjoyed this short story from beginning to end. I couldn’t put it down. This story showed that things happen when they are supposed to. For Ocean to have been a man who swore off love, children and commitment, all it took was him finding out he had a child out there in the world that he had no idea about to realize that he only felt that way as a trauma response to his own father not being in his life. I enjoyed seeing the growth with Jashaun and seeing him realize he wanted love and was able to love and find balance with loving on Soraya and his daughter.
I’m exciting to continue this series and hope the other stories by the other authors are just as good.
This was a very sweet and entertaining short story. Ocean's story was well written and relatable. It has strong characters with growth. My favorite character is Jussica.
I liked Ocean's journey through fatherhood, it was different but relatable. Becoming a new father and trying to maneuver a new relationship, at the same time, would be a tall task for anyone. He managed the bumps and bruises to build solid relationships with the ones he loved. Being surrounded by strong women helped him to overcome the hurt and make through the trials and storms. I also love his mother's character. That sister had fire in her.
Jashaun and Soraya's story. Love was in the air between the two of them at the start of this story. They were definitely a work in progress, but I think he had much more to settle in his heart. Daddy issues! The man group he joined was perfect for him. I loved the support that was evident with the single dads.
A girl can take only so much, but when you know, you know. Soraya held on longer than I would have, hoping that Jashaun would truly trust, share his life, and surrender to her totally. Let's just say that she made him him work to get her to stay focused on him.
Jashaun's daughter Juss, was too much. That mouth of hers, baaby, would have her behind tanned, if she was mine. But I will say, that little girl brought him and his mother much joy
First installment of the Single Dad's Club, and it's a good one. There are always clubs for women but you never hear of ones for dads. So this was a pleasant surprise.
I hate the fact that Mara kept Jussie from Ocean for seven years, but he stepped up like a champ. He had struggles, roadblocks, meltdowns, and almost lost his woman, but after joining the club he realized that he needed his village.
Daddies love their daughters so this was a great book!
Finally, the struggles, vulnerabilities & or challenges of single fatherhood from a responsible man’s perspective. Excellent 🤩! “Ocean (Single Dad Society)” addressed two proverbial birds with one stone: be the father he never had & learn how to open his heart to love. Nevertheless, Soraya, Jashaun & family was a tenuous journey yet a beautiful story with a HEA 🥰‼️
Jashaun and Soraya story was nice. A love that was tentative, sweet, and right in front of them. Jussica's arrival in their lives was pivotal for their relationship as Ocean needed to know he could love unconditionally before he could offer more to anyone. I do love how he found out about his daughter because I felt it was divine intervention. Finally, I liked that the author kept Jussica childlike and not aged her perception or her words.
I'm a sucker for a single father love story and this one didn't disappoint. Fate was all over this story and I loved it. Jashaun runs into a former fling and discovers a child was the result. He takes on the responsibility raising his daughter, but he also has to navigate a budding relationship with Soraya. They have their ups and downs, but everything works out in the end.
I’ll start by saying that this is the first book that I’ve read by Tiye ad this well written, interesting book kept my attention from beginning to end. We were introduced to Jashaun aka Ocean who was determined to not have a wife or children but fate had other plans for him. I liked the way that the author integrated him into the new life that he found himself in. I’m looking forward to reading more of this author’s books.
What an insufferable couple and to be quite honest, the FMC was the worst. They both played too many games and I still don’t understand how they got to the “in love” part of their relationship that seemed more like a situationship than anything. They both wanted to be in control of things when they should’ve just gone with the flow and enjoyed the moment. Overall, it was a decent storyline but the characters were flawed. 🤷🏾♀️
Loved it!!! Now Ocean did pluck my nerves because sir, what are you doing? I absolutely loved how Soraya stood ten toes down for what she expected and tolerated. I’ll definitely have to read the others in this series. Oh and Mara, she definitely got on my nerves! She was very selfish and instead of using her words like an adult she just dipped. I would have just rather she stayed gone.
Ocean is my second book from Single Dad Society. Ocean is Jashan and Soraya story. This is a story of past trauma and the pain of an absent father. Jashan learned that he had a daughter that he knew nothing about. He wanted his daughter to know that he loved her and that nothing came before her. Heartwarming, emotional, and funny. Good read!
Good read, I liked the characters and storyline. Jashuaun discovered he’s a father of a seven year old by happenstance. He immediately acknowledges the child and takes responsibility. He’s attracted to his neighbor Soraya. While Jashaun is navigating his new role as a father. He is also on a journey to forever love with Soraya.
I’m really loving this Single Dad Society series! This book had my eyes leaking. It’s a shame how Mara kept such a huge secret from Ocean. I’m just glad that it all ended well for them all! Thank you for this amazing read Tiye! I’m ready to dig into Romeo now! ❤️🔥
This is a great example of adaptability and growth. Ocean truly took and help up his responsibilities. Very different take on the trials of single parenting from a mature point of view
I always love stories with precocious chuldren. This one had that and more.
Océan and So raya circled around each other long enough. It was time to stop playing games and go for what they both wanted. Loved the Single dans meeting. This was a good read
This was a heart warming and at times funny story. I loved how Ocean stepped up once he found out that he was a father and that having Jussica in his life enabled him to open his heart to love and deal with his father not being in his life.
I enjoyed Ocean even as he worked my last nerve. The relationships he had with the ladies in his life was each unique. in his own way he was there for each one.
Jashaun and Soraya have been flirting but she isn’t interested in being a notch on his bedpost. Jashaun finds out he’s a father to a little girl from a weekend rendezvous. He and Soraya start seeing each other but he’s still learning how to be a father.
This was a great book about how to adapt to change.
