Dolly never met a red flag she didn't want to fix.

As a therapist, she knows better than to chase the dark, dangerous man watching her from the shadows of the bar. But when Jagger touches her, all mystery and coiled violence, reason doesn't stand a chance. One night in a parking lot becomes an obsession she can't shake. He's every warning sign she's ever ignored, and exactly the kind of broken she's drawn to.

Jagger came back to Ashwood, Oregon for one to save his sister from the Savage Temple cult he barely escaped alive. The brutal compound shaped him into something he can't forgive. A soldier with too many kills on his hands and PTSD that won't let him sleep. He doesn't deserve Dolly's soft hands or her determination to make him whole. But when she inserts herself into his life, refusing to walk away from his darkness, he can't resist the hunt.

Now his father stands between him and his sister's freedom. The law wants him gone. And the deeper Dolly falls into Jagger's world, the more she realizes some souls can't be saved, and some monsters wear the faces of victims. When the final confrontation comes, survival will demand a sacrifice neither of them saw coming.

This steamy dark romance features a morally gray antihero, dangerously off-limits attraction, obsessive desire, predator/prey tension, primal kink, trauma bonding, plus-size heroine representation, touch-her-and-die energy, he-falls-first intensity, and secrets that turn love into a lethal choice.

This story burns with intense chemistry and a fiercely passionate relationship that refuses to be ignored. Every moment pulled me deeper, impossible to put down. Beneath the heat lies something even more powerful—a journey of found family, of piecing yourself back together after everything falls apart, of risking your heart for love, and enduring the ache of loss. It’s raw, emotional, and unforgettable.

This book took you on a dark twisted ride. Two people finding eachother for what seems like just a good time. But then the darkness starts to creep in. Jagger dealing with PTSD and Dolly who can't seem to stay away from Jagger’s tortured soul. The spice is top tier and right up DV's ally; but the killer is the twist you didnt see coming; once it hit my mouth stayed open. This is dark romantic suspense you wont want to put down.

What do a therapist and an ex cult member have in common? Incredible chemistry and spiciest relationship. I enjoyed every single second of this book. A spicy story about found family, learning to live again, finding love and experiencing loss.

As always, be sure to check the trigger warnings before diving in.
This book had me gripped from the very start. I especially loved how refreshing it was to see a curvy FMC—Dolly felt incredibly relatable and like a genuinely realistic woman, which made her easy to connect with.
Jaggers’ character was a real highlight for me. I appreciated how the story explored men’s mental health, while also revealing his sensitivity and vulnerability beneath that tough exterior.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book 🖤

I had the chance to be an ARC reader for D. V. Fischer and this book was such a bliss🖤

An ex-soldier with questionable morals and a lifetime of trauma, and a therapist who seems to be all but drawn to walking red flags… what could possibly go wrong? Everything — but not in the way you’d expect.

Dolly and Jagger just make sense in the most chaotic way. She is exactly what he’s drawn to, and he is everything she knows she should run from—but doesn’t. And honestly? I loved that about them. Dolly being a bit of a glutton for punishment just made everything feel even more real.

One thing I really appreciated was how Jagger’s mental health struggles were portrayed. It felt raw, honest, and handled with care, and I loved seeing how Dolly navigated his ups and downs alongside him - at least whenever he let her.

The characters felt incredibly real—both the MCs and the side characters. And speaking of side characters… I need Blake’s story (I’m not even joking), and I’d love to see Rollo get his happy ending too.

This book genuinely kept me on my toes the entire time. Even when I tried to guess what was coming next, I couldn’t fully piece it together—and once things started unfolding, they didn’t slow down.

Overall, this is a fast-paced dark romance with everything you could want: a brooding MMC with heavy baggage, a therapist FMC drawn to trouble, amazing friendships, and a dark past that ties everything together in unexpected ways.

If you love messy, intense, emotionally driven stories with complex characters—you’ll definitely want to pick this one up.🖤

I had to privilege to be an ARC reader for D.V. Fischer. Albeit by first arc read, OMG are they all going to be so good??

A therapist who is not scared of red flags belonging to dangerous mysterious men. A cult and war survivor with all the emotional baggage someone would carry with them forever with those experiences.

A steamy dark romance with morally gray antihero, dangerously off-limits attraction, obsessive desire, predator/prey tension, primal kink, trauma bonding, plus-size heroine representation, touch-her-and-die energy, he-falls-first intensity, and secrets that turn a love into a lethal choice.

A handful of characters with great personalities and intertwined just enough and nicely. Jagger with all his trauma still manages to gain our support and have the reader fall and feel for him. Dolly’s experience as a therapist is well depicted, despite her own turmoil.

The storyline was great and sucks you right in within the first few page turns. The pacing is upbeat with no lagging. I loved the intertwining of cult survival, war survival, and family bonds. This book broaches men’s mental health issues which is nice to see and support. It does exist. As does cults even in our day and age, which was well represented and explained within the storyline. Jagger and Dolly’s relationship is divine despite its darkness. Your can feel the emotions and their mindset, along with Jaggers compassion for his family, and friends wrap you right in.

There is nothing I disliked about this book other than I was sad it ended it was so good, I just wanted to keep reading. There was a suggested playlist which I immediately downloaded and played while reading, it was a great compliment to the mood of the storyline.

There are definitely some hard subjects and scene details, make sure to read the triggers list and take care of your own mental health.

Spice level 3

I definitely HIGHLY recommend this book.

I won’t say “I’ve never read a book this fast”because okay, I have. But this is absolutely one of those books.

I read a lot, enough to sometimes feel like I’ve seen it all. But Darling Savage Sins caught me off guard. The tone, the pacing, the details pulled me in. There were moments that genuinely made my jaw drop, and more than once I had to pause just to breathe and think, oh, this is so good.

Some of the dialogue is straight-up hilarious. I wish I could quote lines, but anything worth sharing would spoil the experience and this book deserves to be enjoyed blind. Just trust me on that.
And Tyron? He’s written so well. I’d read his story in a heartbeat.
No hesitation: 5⭐️.
And in my rating system, that means “you rocked my world.”

I love the dramatic dark cover and the hands holding a crucifix which hints at how strict the Savage Temple Cult really is.

This book is a plus size dark romance between a tortured soul with a dark past in a cult and a curvy therapist who can't resist wanting to fix him. But can Dolly really tame the monster he was made into and does Jagger really want to be fixed?

Dolly is the curvy female therapist who is divorced yet still best friends with her ex-husband, Rollo who happens to be a police officer. The two are good friends and Rollo worries about the kind of people that Dolly meets within her job as a therapist, so much so he gives her pointers on self-defence. Both Rollo and Dolly’s best friend Sadie know Dolly has a weakness when it comes to men with tortured souls and troubled pasts, so its no great surprise to them when Dolly becomes involved with Jagger Valentine.

Jagger had a highly troubled childhood at the hands of his own father who is also the Savage Temple Cult leader. One night a teenaged Jagger and a young teen girl neighbour make a run for it and escape the cult. Jagger ends up in the army where he is singled out for special violent missions further adding to his tortured soul. When the army abandons him when he is no longer needed with only ex-army buddy Blake to look out for him.
Jagger has been dealing with his demons and his guilt of leaving his sister behind in the cult by turning to drink. Jagger doesn’t just have a social drink he drinks, and drinks himself into oblivion. This alcohol induced oblivion giving him a little respite from his guilt.

The only thing that has kept Jagger going is his desperate need to go back to the Savage Temple cult to rescue his younger sister Isabelle and get revenge on his father, its all he has lived for. As for women, he’s always settled for one-night stands until he meets Dolly, one night just isn’t enough with her. Dolly allows his damaged, savage side to exist and be part of their sexual encounters. What starts out as an outlet and a fascination for Jagger turns into something else, he cannot put a name to. Jagger even tries to put distance between himself and Dolly when he thinks she may be drawn into his issues with the Savage Temple Cult. However, Dolly doesn’t give up easily and it seems that Jagger can’t stay away from her either despite vowing to himself he would.

After a rather violent confrontation with his father, it becomes apparent that there is another person heavily influencing the cult and its direction. Jagger doesn’t care who is in charge, he wants his sister out and he doesn’t care she is married and pregnant. Once out of the clutches of Savage Temple Cult, Jagger thinks that Dolly can fix his sister and everyone can continue with their new lives. However things are not as Jagger first thinks when it turns out that Tyron a man he remembers from his childhood in the cult as being abusive is the man who is married to his sister, Isabelle.
When a hostage situation occurs and Sadie has to face her past in order to help best friend Dolly, she doesn’t hesitate to act. When Jagger arrives on the scene to rescue those held captive he is faced with an impossible decision. A choice between past and future.

I really enjoyed reading this one, it kept you on the edge of your seat and certainly kept you thinking and guessing who was the power behind the Savage Temple Cult other than Bryce Valentine. The ending is quite explosive in more ways than one. The twists were very well written though I did have a slight inkling as to where things were going but perhaps that because I have read other books by this author!

I loved the moment when Jagger realises the feelings he has for Dolly that he can’t put a name to are feelings of love, that he can experience this type of love. I adored the way Dolly was willing to do anything and even sacrifice herself for Jagger. It was a shame one of the characters was killed off but it really did fit into the story for that character to sacrifice themselves. There are quite explicit sexual scenes in the book, though they are in context and show how Jaggers past have influenced every aspect of his life. There are also quite detailed violent scenes too, though in the greater plot you understand why these scenes are within the book and they are believable for the characters involved in them.

The character I fell immediately in love with was of course Jagger, the troubled guy who just needs to be shown love and learn how to love. I wanted to reach into the book and give him the biggest hug, though I don’t think it would have been received well.
I adored Blake, the army buddy who stuck by his friend and the motto of “never leave a soldier behind” despite Jaggers path of self-destruction via alcohol and his intention of walking into the Savage Temple Cult to free his sister no matter the consequences. I thought Dolly was a complex character herself and I wondered if perhaps she had experienced troubles in her own past before becoming a therapist.

My immediate thoughts upon finishing the book were, what a twist! And that it was a shame Jagger had to face the difficult choice but perhaps he had to make that choice to be able to move on with his own future.

Summing up, this was another great book by DV Fischer!

This book is dark. Not the aesthetic kind. The kind that sits heavy in your chest and makes you pause and process what you just read.

Please check your triggers before going in because when it comes to the cult aspect, nothing is safe or off limits. There are references that are hard to swallow, including children and inbreeding. Nothing is graphic in that regard, but it is enough to make this an emotionally difficult read. I choked up more than once. It is not an easy world to step into, and it is not meant to be.
What kept me grounded through all of that was Jagger and Dolly.

Jagger is a walking red flag, but not in the way people throw that phrase around lightly. He is damaged, shaped by things no one should survive, and carrying PTSD that feels real on the page. He does not sleep, he does not pretend to be okay, and he does not believe he deserves anything good. But I would not call him evil. Maybe to the people who deserve it, and honestly that is where my brain starts calling it a green flag. That protective, touch her and die energy hits hard here.

On a personal level, I connected with him more than I expected. The way his trauma shows up, the instability, the moments that feel out of his control, it felt familiar in a quiet way. Add in the fact that I know what it looks like to love someone who carries darkness like that, and his character just made sense to me. He is not as broken as he thinks he is. If anything, he feels more stable than most people who came from where he did.

Dolly felt just as real to me. I understood her immediately. That pull to love the broken, to see the good even when every sign says to walk away. She is not blind to who Jagger is, she just chooses him anyway. That makes her both strong and vulnerable in a way that worked so well for this story. She could have been frustrating, but instead she felt honest.
And then there is the emotional damage this book delivers.

There is a moment near the end involving Sadie that completely broke me. I will not spoil it, but it shifted everything. It is one of those scenes that sticks with you because it feels unfair in a way that real life often is. That was the point where the weight of this story really settled in for me.
The ending was not what I expected. It is a HEA, but it does not come easy and it does not come clean. It leaves you sitting there asking if the cost was worth it, and that bittersweet feeling lingers.

This is not a light read. It is painful, heavy, and at times hard to get through. But it also shows that even people who are deeply broken can still find something that looks like love. Not perfect, not soft, but real enough to hold onto.

Darling Savage Sins is the kind of dark romance that grabs you by the throat emotionally and refuses to let go. This book is gritty, intense, and absolutely dripping with emotional damage in the most addictive way possible. If you like your romance with trauma, tension, morally gray chaos, and a man who clearly needs several years of therapy but settles for falling in love instead, this one delivers.

Jagger Valentine is not your sweet, emotionally available cinnamon-roll hero. This man is pure “stay away from me” energy wrapped in military scars, unresolved trauma, and enough emotional repression to power an entire city. He’s rough around every possible edge, but underneath all the rage and isolation is someone painfully human. Watching his walls crack throughout the story was honestly one of the strongest parts of the book.

And Dolly? She’s not weak, naive, or there to magically save him. She’s intelligent, compassionate, and somehow able to stare directly into Jagger’s chaos without backing down. Their chemistry is intense from the start messy, magnetic, and filled with that delicious emotional tension that makes you keep flipping pages at 2 a.m. while questioning your life choices.

The atmosphere of this book deserves its own applause because everything feels heavy in the best way. The cult background, the emotional trauma, the lingering sense of danger it all creates this dark, aching tone that fits the story perfectly. The romance isn’t soft or easy; it’s about two damaged people trying to figure out whether love can exist alongside all the ugly parts of survival.

Also, the side characters? Elite. The friendships in this book add so much warmth and balance to all the emotional destruction happening on page. Every emotionally unstable main character needs friends willing to hand them water, emotional support, and possibly a shovel.

What really made this story stand out for me was the focus on healing instead of perfection. Nobody here is magically “fixed.” The characters are messy, flawed, stubborn, and carrying years of pain, which makes their connections feel even more real.

Overall, Darling Savage Sins is dark, emotional, passionate, and completely consuming. It’s the kind of romance that leaves you emotionally bruised while still kicking your feet over the chemistry. Definitely recommended for readers who love damaged characters, heavy emotional themes, protective energy, and romances that feel a little dangerous.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author. This review reflects my honest opinion.

This is my second book by D.V Fisher and this one hit much harder.

From early on, the book pulls you in with intensity and a strong emotional undercurrent. But nothing prepared me for what happens later in the story — I was genuinely shocked and emotional in ways I didn’t expect.

Dolly is such an interesting FMC. As a therapist, she knows exactly what she should avoid — yet she’s drawn to broken, dangerous men she believes she can fix. It’s a pattern she’s aware of, but still struggles to break, which made her feel very real and layered as a character.

Jagger, on the other hand, is deeply damaged. His past is brutal and has shaped him into someone who doesn’t believe he deserves anything good. He carries guilt, trauma, and a complete disconnect from fear or consequence. At times, he feels almost beyond redemption — and yet, throughout the story, you see glimpses of something more beneath all that darkness.

Their dynamic is intense — and that’s honestly an understatement. There’s an obsessive, almost consuming pull between them that drives the story forward. It’s not soft or easy love — it’s messy, raw, and at times uncomfortable, but that’s also what makes it so compelling.

The story itself goes to some very dark places, especially with the cult element, and it doesn’t shy away from the psychological impact of that kind of environment. It’s heavy, emotional, and at times difficult to read — but in a way that feels intentional rather than gratuitous.

What stood out to me was how unpredictable the story felt. I tried to piece things together as I read, and while I got some things right, there were still moments that completely caught me off guard.

This is not an easy read — but it’s a powerful one. It stays with you.

Overall, this is a dark, emotional, and intense story with complex characters and a plot that keeps you hooked. It won’t be for everyone, but if you enjoy darker romance with psychological depth and morally gray characters, this one is definitely worth picking up.

This is a 4.5-star read for me ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Love, trust, loss, and obsession. These are the first words that come to mind when I reflect on Darling Savage Sins.

Jagger

He joined the military to escape Savage Temple, the cult led by his father. Unfortunately, the military proved to be the perfect breeding ground to exploit his damaged soul. They molded him into the perfect weapon, only to spit him out without a backward glance. What stood out most to me was Jagger's inability to see the good in himself. After leaving the cult, he never had the chance to fully deprogram or catch his breath. The military provided an escape, but he simply traded one hell for another.
His use of alcohol to self-medicate broke my heart. Unfortunately, this is more common than I would like to admit. After all, a fractured brain struggles to process appropriate coping mechanisms, because that part of the brain is "out of order."

Dolly

is a therapist who realizes she has, “a thing for the savage and damaged minds.” She takes pride in helping others heal. But as her ex-husband (and best friend) points out: once they are healed, “they either leave [her] or [she] gets bored and leaves them.” She is a walking juxtaposition. On one hand, she understands the human mind, it is her job. But following one's own advice is not something most people are capable of, and Dolly is no exception. She even acknowledges this, frequently noting, “If I were one of my clients, I would advise them…” Interestingly, the author’s use of the word “Client” rather than “Patient,” felt more impersonal, but it fit with the narrative. It seemed to highlight the disconnect between Dolly’s professional life vs. personal life.

As Jagger’s obsession with saving his sister from Salvage Temple (cult) grows, his laser focus will lead him to lose everything, consequences be damned. Will his obsession finally push her away? Or, will she fight for them, helping him through the emotional turmoil he is experiencing?

She likes to fix things; he is broken beyond repair. Their relationship is beautifully toxic. The thing about the word, "toxic," is it’s not black and white. We all define that word based on our own experiences. Everyone around them has an opinion on their “toxicity.” But it works for them, and in the end it’s no one else's business.

Another brilliant story by DV Fischer!
Darling: Dolly, as Jagger likes to call her meet at a local bar......
She is just what he likes. —
"I like my women bigger, and I won’t settle for anything less. I need something to grab onto, some bounce as I plow into them."
Jagger knows what he wants and when he sees Dolly across the room, all bets are off. She is just what he needs to help him forget! He suffers from a childhood of abuse and when he is able, he enrols into the army......and then is treated as their executioner....His PTSD is through the roof and he feels he is not good enough to be able to be a better man, for any one, especially a good looking woman like Dolly.
But as a therapist, Dolly sees in Jagger what many miss. He is broken and she is good in fixing things that are broken.....so! Yeh! Jagger and Dolly start seeing each other, sort of?!! Maybe?!!
A fast paced story as Jagger deals with his past with dolly there as his support.
He escaped a cult, run by his father and left his baby sister behind...one he is determined to help escape the cult and be free like he is.
But not all is as it seems................
As he and his best mate Blake find themselves inside the cult, Jagger barely escapes with his life.
Blake and Dolly get him to hospital and during recovery he decides to not bring Dolly any further into his damaged world where she may end up being a victim. He breaks up with her!! Say What!!!!
But breaking up with Dolly was not as easy as Jagger thought it would be, and Isabelle, his baby sister is definitely not who he thought she would be!
Loved this story from start to finish and with all the twists that I did not see coming...yeh....so good!
Plenty of open door spice between Dolly and Jagger...which I so looooved!
And their HEA, of course they reach a happy ending but oh boy, to get there, there are plenty of unexpected turns that they have to navigate!!

Darling Savage Sins by DV Fischer is a gripping, dark romance masterpiece that demands your attention from the very first page.

The story offers a refreshing perspective by opening through the eyes of Jagger Valentine, a deeply complex man whose struggles with mental health and trauma are portrayed with raw, compelling honesty. His life takes a pivotal turn when he meets Dolly Sterling, a curvy and relatable therapist whose calm presence provides the stability he has lacked for over thirty years.

The dynamic between the damaged bad boy and the composed counselor creates an electric connection that is both spicy and emotionally resonant, highlighted by standout moments like the unforgettable truck scene.

Fischer expertly balances heavy themes of survival and vulnerability with high-octane suspense involving kidnapping and mystery.

The world-building is immersive, supported by a rich cast of characters like Jagger's best friend, Blake, who add significant depth to this fast-paced sprint of a novel.

While the narrative maintains a relentless pace that keeps you turning pages, it never sacrifices the emotional weight of the journey. The story moves with an incredible energy that makes it nearly impossible to put down, though its fast-moving nature might leave you wishing for just a few more chapters in this world.

It is a brilliant, gritty, and high-stakes journey that culminates in a finale of absolute audacity, making it an essential read for anyone who appreciates deeply flawed characters and a plot that refuses to let go.

Please be mindful of potential triggers before reading, as this story contains graphic violence, kidnapping, and intense themes surrounding mental health struggles and trauma.

I may be a therapist, but that doesn’t make all my clients crazy bastards.

“I’m attracted to the wrong kind of guy.” “And what kind of guy is that?”
“The savaged. The damaged.”

I can honestly say this book completely pulled me in from the very first pages. It’s a dark, emotionally intense romance that blends trauma, obsession, and vulnerability into something gripping and unforgettable.

The story follows Dolly, a therapist who is all too aware of her attraction to damaged, dangerous men, and Jagger, a deeply scarred survivor of both a cult and the military. Both characters are layered and complex—Dolly understands the human mind professionally but struggles to apply that wisdom to herself, while Jagger carries immense trauma and self-loathing, unable to see any good in himself despite the compassion he shows others.

Their relationship is anything but simple. It’s raw, consuming, and at times beautifully toxic. There’s an undeniable pull between them—obsessive, emotional, and dark—that drives the story forward. It’s not a soft romance, but that’s what makes it feel so real and compelling. The spice is spicy and the chemistry is sizzling.

The plot weaves together themes of cult survival, war trauma, family bonds, and mental health—especially highlighting men’s struggles in a way that feels both honest and important. The pacing is strong throughout, with no slow moments, and the story remains unpredictable, delivering twists that genuinely caught me off guard.

This book doesn’t shy away from heavy or uncomfortable topics, and it handles them with depth and intention. It’s not an easy read, but it’s a powerful one that lingers long after the final page.

Yet on other DV Fischer book I hoped there would have been more of

When Love and Darkness Intertwine
Jagger was raised in a brutal cult that shaped him into something lethal, something hardened—and it feels like the darkness never really let him go. Can someone like him still find love… or is he already too far gone?
Dolly is a therapist with a weakness for the broken and the dangerous—and Jagger practically calls to her from the shadows. She knows better, but knowing doesn’t stop the pull. Their connection is intense, savage at times, and once it takes hold, neither of them seems able—or willing—to let go. But what happens when his past crashes into their present?
Jagger got out, but not without cost—he left his sister behind. Now, saving her is the one thing driving him forward. But after everything she’s endured, is there anything left to save?
I’ll be honest—this book left me a little stunned. At times, all I could think was just… wow. The predator/prey dynamic and the level of kink pushed me out of my comfort zone more than once. But then the story shifted, digging deeper into Jagger’s past and the reality of the cult that raised him—and that’s when I was completely hooked.
Once those layers started unfolding, I couldn’t look away. The suspense builds steadily, the twists come fast, and there’s a tension running through the story that makes it hard to put down.
Did I enjoy the darkness? Not entirely. But was I compelled by it? Absolutely.
If you’re drawn to darker romance—where the lines between love and obsession blur, where the characters are messy and morally gray, and where the story isn’t afraid to go to uncomfortable places—you might find this one hard to resist. It’s intense, steamy, unsettling at times, and undeniably gripping.

A Savagely Dark Romance

This is a brilliantly written dark romance, with a great plot, characters you'll love and feel their pains, drama, tension, love and spice. There are a quite a few triggers (please read the list) but the whole story is so well written I couldn't put it down. Full of intrigue, kidnapping, stalking, death, PTSD, a cult, mentions of child abuse, dark romance, fantastic twists and a HEA.

Jagger had escaped his father and the cult he ran when he was 18, he joined the army and become a killer for them. When he came home all he wanted to do was rescue his sister from the cult he'd left.

Dolly is a curvy woman who works as a therapist. She's divorced but still best friends with her ex who's a police officer; her other best friend is a tattoo artist who won't talk about her past. She meets Jagger at a bar and the attraction between them is instant and steamy. He's got so many red flags (they're almost glowing), though they're one of the things that attracts her to him.

“I’m the son of a cult leader, and I ran away to join the army so I could legally murder people.”

But though he's found love (he struggles to name it due to the trauma he's suffered), his goal is still to save his sister from the cult. But it turns out that might not be as easy as he hopes, and he'll have to face his father again before he can close that chapter of his life.

This book highlights men's mental health issues well, with Jagger suffering from survival guilt and PTSD, and I loved seeing the support he has from his best friend from his squad who keeps tabs on him.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Darling Savage Sins, written by DV Fischer, centers on the complex journey of healing from severe past trauma through love. It is a steamy, dark cult romance packed full of off-limits attraction and obsessive desire. This is a gritty, high-stakes romance.

The story focuses on Jagger Valentine, a man whose entire existence is defined by the scars left from his cult-raised childhood and the harsh realities of his time as a military assassin. He is trapped in a horrible cycle of substance abuse and hyper-vigilance. When he meets Dolly Sterling, a compassionate therapist, they are drawn toward each other. Their relationship is addictive and primal, focusing both on confronting their pasts.

The relationship is intense! It is built on mutual attraction to danger. Despite Dolly’s rational mind, she is unable to resist the pull to Jagger. For Jagger’s part, he initially treats their relationship as a distraction, but it soon grows deeper and more intimate.

In the middle of it all is the Savage Temple - a cult led by Jagger’s father. Dude, I hate this guy. This cult and man are the reason behind Jagger’s profound trauma. Jagger also deals with the constant pain and regret of leaving behind his sister.

The story is intense as it shifts from trauma, guilt, and regret to hope, love, and healing. Your past does NOT dictate your future. Find those who are supportive and create a loving community - a found family. I enjoyed this journey!

Thanks to DV Fischer for gifting me an eARC of Darling Savage Sins. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

🚨Review of ARC copy from Author🚨

Check your trigger warnings

Honestly, I have no idea how I’m gonna put this into words. I absolutely loved and devoured this book. It only took me a day and a half. I just cannot put it down. The amount of plot twist had me absolutely on the edge of my seat.

First, you have a sweet curvy FMC – therapist who has a love for fixing broken things. Who also loves seeing the red flags and putting on rose colored glasses. She’s one of the most relatable characters I have seen. While also knowing and sharing her own struggles throughout the book. She makes no apologies for taking up space. I absolutely love it.

Next, you have a big strong, EX military soldier who came out even more twisted than he went in. After escaping a cult and abuse that he was born into. Leaving his little sister behind in the hands of a cult that had taken so much from him. My love for Jagger has honestly grown throughout the book. After finally seeing the air of his ways and hurting the ones he loves. He finally decides to get help seeing a therapist and opening up about his trauma/ past. Not only that after he gets help and finally gets sober for the FMC.

Now, if you’re not into spice /sexual 🌶️, this may not be the book for you, but I absolutely loved it. I do believe there is about 3 to 5 spicy scenes in this book and they do go into graphic detail. (There might be a chasing scene or two!!) With all that being said, they are not just thrown in there. They are perfectly placed amongst the plot and just add to it. Chefs kiss 😘

🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 /5 spice
4.5/ overall book-plot

This book absolutely consumed me. I am done for and I mean that in the absolute best possible way. All I can say to DV Fischer is thank you for the emotional damage can I please have another serving? I devoured every single line of this story, read it straight through in one sitting. And I regret none of it. This book Is full of tension and twists and heat, such good heat. I’m pretty sure Dolly’s favorite color is morally grey. And honestly same. Jagger’s red flags are nothing more than banners of passion. After this book I feel like I might need to talk to someone about my ability to look past the glaring problems of my book boyfriends. Jagger is absolutely twisted and dark, but I loved him for it. He went through so freaking much. And I applaud him for seeking help from a therapist. And the strength he showed for that and getting sober made him so much more in my eyes. That is true grit. Dolly is super relatable. It’s so refreshing to see an FMC make no excuse for taking up space. She faced her own issues throughout the book. And seeing them support each other was endearing in my opinion. Their connection is intense and raw and consuming. Watching it morph and grow was compelling and emotional. But I would have wanted it any other way. It matches them perfectly. This book has so much trauma and tension but it’s done in such a way that feels genuine and respectful. And the fat that it highlights men’s mental health was *chef’s kiss* as it’s not a perspective we get often. This is one story that grips your throat and holds you captive long after the last line is read. Pure unadulterated perfection.

A strong and unbelievably gripping book about trauma, growth, healing, and strength mixed with spice, dominance, and erotic moments to make your toes curl.

Trauma runs deep for Jagger starting with his childhood and moving into adulthood. He escapes a family run cult only to be sweep up into the military caring out deadly orders only causing more trauma to fester. Once he is out of the military and away from the cult, he is still plagued with his past until the day he sets his eyes on Dolly. Dolly likes the bad boys, the scary boys, the boys that make her heart rate spike with lust and fear. Ones that don’t get boring. But is Jagger and his past to much for even her?

Not only does this book hit the spot with spice, it also pulls you in, your heart hurts for not only Jagger but other characters that too have been hurt and damaged by the cult aka temple. Read the trigger warnings because this book definitely hits triggers about different forms of abuse. At times you are fanning yourself, other times feeling sorrow, anger, sadness, disgust, and compassion. The friendship in the book between the characters is absolutely amazing and heartfelt. The love and lengths they go through to be there for their friend(s) no matter the circumstances. Regrets that can eat you alive and destroy you piece by piece even when you try to make them right.

Sometimes trauma can cause unrepairable damage, sometimes it brings loss. However, sometimes allowing love in, gives the broken pieces a chance to be glued back together to heal the mind, heart, and soul.

"No one gets it, no one understands, but I think you might"

DISCLAIMER THIS IS BASED OFF OF AN ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR
Characters: 2/1.5🌟
Plot: 1.5/2🌟
Writing Style: 1/1.5🌟
My Thoughts: HE GOES SOBER FOR HER YALL. Anyways, let me properly compose myself and let's get into this review.

Don't get me wrong, it took me a brief moment to sit down and read this lovely arc. I knew it was going to be a short and sweet book that potentially was going to rip my heart out with either twists, a boring plot, or unlovable characters. That being said, I am so glad I took the time to give this book a chance and thoroughly read through it.

I am a sucker for the small details, so Jagger going sober for Dolly? Oh I ate that up. There are just so many little moments like that throughout the book that make reading it such a joy. Also, there were so many good twists, like the end of chapter 13?!?!

Now, if you are not a fan of a ton of explicit scenes being packed into a shorter novel, then this might not be for you or at least be prepared to skip a bit of pages. For a book with roughly 230 pages, there were 3+ scenes that spanned a couple pages each. However, they weren't randomly thrown in or seemed out of place in the overall plot of the book.

Overall, for my first reading of a D.V. Fischer book, I am well surprised at her work and very glad to have had the honor to read this arc! Thank you to D.V. Fischer and her crew for this opportunity!

OMG, where to start…I do regret putting the book down last night, but I did need sleep….and when I picked it up this morning to finish it, I was not expecting the roller coaster that happened…..DV Fisher, WOW, I went through an emotional range….pitty, lust, love, hate, spite, disgust, and at one point I wanted to be the one kicking someone’s butt.

There are some triggers that people might need to check before reading.

We are introduced to Jagger, a retired military man, who came from a very traumatic past, and ended up having even more trauma put onto him. He at least had his best friend Blake there to be the conscious he needed for some things, and to be the saving grace for when he was down and drinking his life away. There is also Dolly, a therapist, who has been through a divorce and is being taught how to defend herself by her ex-husband who is a police officer (they are just friends, and realized that during their marriage) and she had her best friend Sadie (a beautiful tattoo artist who also had a traumatic past). Dolly however has a tendency to fall for the bad boy, and try to fix him, and that is where Jagger comes in, he’s the bad boy, and he’s kind of broken. They happen to meet one night while Dolly and Sadie are having a “girls night” at the bar, and Dolly and Jagger catch each others attention from across the bar, one fun night in the parking lot was all it took for both to be drawn to each other.

Is there a happy ending, read to find out….

Love love loved this story.
D.V. Fisher is amazing with her writing. Her words capture your attention right away and you feel every emotion that is described, deeply. My interest was peeked right away with the fact that mental health and trauma also affects the male's in our society. It's a very taboo subject that needs to be addressed.

So in this crazy dark romance we have our wonderful FMC Dolly who is a therapist and loves men who are red flags.
Our MMC Jagger is the son of a cult leader who escaped and joined the army and became a whole different monster.

Run Dolly Run. Oh yes please! So hot and spicy their connection is. He loves chasing her and she loves it when he catches her. Totally swoon worthy.

Many things happen in this book. Some had me crying others warmed my heart.

This story is very well written. The storyline is fabulous.
All the characters are well developed and enjoyable. The found family ties and great loving support system are what holds these people together through all the crazy twisted events that take place.

And the ending. Oh yes I had happy tears streaming down my face for this fantastic couple and the future they will have. With freedom and a never ending love for one another.

Perfect.

Please check TW before reading.

D.V. Fisher thank you for this amazing must read story.

Enjoy the darkness darklings. And celebrate the light that shines through the darkness.

ARC Review
Release date: April 21st, 2026
✨Summary ✨
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
HEA: Yes
POV: Dolly and Jagger
Tropes: morally grey antihero, obsessive, predator/prey, trauma bonding, plus size FMC, touch her and ☠️

Book Summary: As a therapist, Dolly knows better than to chase the man watching her from the shadows. After a one night parking lot incident, she becomes obsessed with the man she shouldn’t. Jagger came back for one reason and one reason only. He needs to save his sister from the cult they were raised in. One that he barely made it out alive. His father stands between him and his sister’s freedom and he will stop at nothing to help her. That is until he realizes just how deep the cult has her intertwined.

Personal Review: Definitely check the trigger warnings before reading! This book had me in a chokehold from the very beginning. I love a good cult trauma bonding. I do also love that Dolly, as much of a therapist as ever, doesn’t read Jagger unless he truly asks for it. She does ask some basic questions but she isn’t always doing evals on him. I LOVE SEEING MEN’S MENTAL HEALTH! This was a favorite trope (if you can call it that) of mine! Everyone’s mental wellbeing should always be considered but someone with PTSD from both childhood and the military should be talked about SO much more.

Thank you to DV Fischer’s team for letting me get my hands on a copy before release day!

Darling Savages Sin was such a quick and addictive read—I flew through it. It had a great balance of spice 🌶️, action, suspense, and darker elements without the romance itself feeling overly heavy or toxic.

Dolly and Jagger start as what should have been a one-time encounter, but obsession takes hold fast. Their chemistry was intense, and I loved how Dolly’s “fixer” nature and her shrink abilities made her want to heal the darkness in Jagger’s past… even when things start spiraling in dangerous ways.

The story takes some wild turns, and the villain reveal was one I did not see coming. The impossible decision Dolly and Jagger are forced to make added so much tension, and just when you think they may make it out, the story twists again. One of my favorite parts was how layered the story felt—it wasn’t just romance and spice, but also suspense, secrets, and a plot that kept building in a way that kept me hooked.

This does have darker themes, so definitely check trigger warnings. I appreciated the more subtle way those topics were handled, especially for readers who prefer darker content to be touched on rather than explored in heavy detail—though personally, I would’ve been okay with even a little more depth if the story had gone there.

Overall, this was fast-paced, spicy, suspenseful, and emotionally gripping. If you like dark romance with obsession, action, layered plots, and unexpected twists—highly recommend. 🖤

I absolutely loved every single thing about this book! Its dark, twisty, angsty and the focus on mens mental health!! 🙌🙌

Jagger our mmc- he is complex. His past is traumatic and he's completely unpredictable. Definitely I hate everybody but you energy. I was rooting for him and Dolly the entire time. Everyone deserves love and his loyalty to his one and only friend spoke volumes. Then there's Dolly our FMC- she's a therapist and is attracted to "damaged" men. I absolutely loved her character throughout this. She's kind, patient and supportive.

This one doesn't toe around when it comes to heavy topics. Focus on mens mental health, past trauma (involving living and escaping from a cult), it's emotionally charged and very intense when it comes to Dolly and Jaggers love story and all the hurdles they have to overcome. The spice was on point and sprinkle that with twists, turns, and some very tragic moments! There were quite a few things I didn't predict! Didn't see coming... At all. I gasped. I thought the ending wrapped everything up beautifully and left me wanting more of them!

Overall I think this one might be my favorite book by this author!!! Highly recommend! Check your triggers first 🫶

Oookaaay. This book. This. BOOK. I'm not sure why I'm always the most into all the dudes - especially when they are dark, dark men - but Jagger and his story is what had me hooked from the beginning. The way Savage Temple was written about makes me feel like I need to go google some things out of morbid curiosity. The hell that Jagger went through and his slow climb back up to the surface because of Dolly was such a heart-warming journey. How can I be so proud of a fictional character's personal growth? And how can I be so proud of his woman for meeting him where he was, accepting him, and helping him achieve that growth?

But listen.

Chapter. Twenty. One. I am HERE and LIVING for what Jagger did. I kneel at the feet of the brain who thought this up. Ms. Fischer, you are a QUEEN.

Chapter...twenty...five. I am here and BROKEN. Utterly broken. Ms. Fischer, please come pick my jaw up off the floor. Send help. I am gutted. Child-b*tch is right.

As this book came to a close, I had to sit with all the emotions swirling inside me. Everything the characters were feeling was so palpable, so real, and I appreciate that so much. The story - far beyond the spice - is what made this book perfect. If you want a novel that will put you through the wringer...Run, darling. Run to get yourself a copy of this masterpiece.

I’m not even going to lie… this book had me in a chokehold. Like, fully unproductive, responsibilities-who?? type of chokehold.

I started it at 8PM… blinked… and suddenly it was 10PM. Went to sleep (barely), woke up at 7AM like I had a job to do, and clocked back in to finish by 10AM. The only reasons I put it down were sleep (unfortunately necessary) and my kids reminding me I’m a mother first. Other than that? I was GONE. Fully consumed.

Now let’s talk about Dolly and Jags… whew. Their story? Yeah… it hits. Like too close to home at times, so please, check your triggers before diving in. And while I’m joking about everything else, I’m serious about that part. The way Fischer handles mental health is done with care, honesty, and a level of realness that doesn’t feel heavy-handed, but it does make you pause and think. It highlights something important: everyone deserves love, no matter what they’ve been through… but also, not everyone can be saved, and that truth sits with you.

Also… the spice?? 🌶️🌶️🌶️

This was outside my usual lane because I normally avoid books that feel a little too real, but I’m so glad I made the exception.

Overall? Emotional damage, sleep deprivation, and zero regrets. I truly enjoyed this book and definitely recommend it.
