She’s chaos with a guitar. He’s a firefighter who plays by the rules. Falling in love was never part of the plan.
Beth Madsen has always followed the music wherever it leads. But coming home to Whisper Falls means facing a life that finally stands still… and a grumpy firefighter who clearly thinks she’s a walking disaster.
Leo Lissandro doesn’t have time for distractions. Between raising his young daughter and serving his town, his world runs on responsibility, routine, and control. Until Beth crashes into it, loud, unpredictable, and impossible to ignore.
When Beth begins teaching his daughter guitar, their lives become tangled in unexpected ways. What starts as reluctant tolerance turns into something warmer… softer… and far more dangerous.
Because Leo isn’t sure he can risk his heart. And Beth isn’t sure she wants to leave again.
But with a little Father’s Day magic, they might just discover that love doesn’t have to be perfect… to be exactly what they need.
A sweet and wholesome small-town romance about family, healing, and finding where you truly belong.
Kiva Hart is a passionate romance author known for her ability to weave steamy, heart-pounding love stories with unforgettable characters. With a love for exploring intense chemistry, forbidden romance, and emotional conflict, Kiva creates stories that keep readers on the edge of their seats. Whether it's enemies turning into lovers, brooding heroes falling for bright-eyed heroines, or love blossoming in the most unexpected circumstances, Kiva’s books are filled with sizzling tension and heart-stopping moments.
Brave Hearts is the kind of story that feels like a deep breath you didn’t realize you needed. Beth comes home to Whisper Falls carrying a lifetime of restlessness and half‑finished dreams, and watching her try to settle into a place she’s never truly let herself belong is both tender and relatable. She’s chaos in the best way—creative, warm, a little scattered—and it’s impossible not to root for her from the start.
Leo, on the other hand, is all structure and steadiness. A single father and a firefighter, he’s built his life around routines that keep him and his daughter safe. He doesn’t have room for unpredictability… which makes Beth the last person he expects to let into his world. Their early interactions are prickly and awkward in a way that feels wonderfully real—two people circling each other without meaning to.
The shift happens slowly, almost quietly. Beth teaching his daughter guitar opens a door neither of them planned on, and the way Leo softens around her is one of the sweetest parts of the book. He’s grumpy, sure, but it’s the kind of grumpy that hides a huge heart. And Beth, who’s spent so long drifting, starts to find a sense of home she didn’t know she was missing.
Their romance is a true slow burn—gentle, wholesome, and full of those small moments that make you believe in love that grows instead of explodes. The Father’s Day thread adds an extra layer of warmth, especially in the scenes with Leo’s daughter, who brings out the best in both of them.
What I loved most is how the story honors their differences. Beth doesn’t have to shrink her chaos, and Leo doesn’t have to abandon his structure. Instead, they find a way to meet in the middle, building something steady and hopeful and entirely theirs.
If you love grumpy/sunshine pairings, single‑dad sweetness, and small‑town romances that feel like a warm hug, Brave Hearts is a beautiful, uplifting read that leaves you smiling long after the last page.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🎸 Sweet, Heartwarming, and Full of Father’s Day Magic 💙
Brave Hearts by Kiva Hart is such a beautiful grumpy/sunshine romance that completely melts your heart!
Beth is chaotic in the best way—free-spirited, a little lost, but so full of life and heart. Watching her return home and slowly find her place again felt real and emotional. 🎶✨
Leo is the perfect grumpy hero—steady, protective, and completely devoted to his daughter. As a single dad and firefighter, his world is built on control… which makes Beth’s presence all the more impactful. The contrast between them is so well done! 🚒💙
What really makes this story shine is the slow burn. Their relationship builds so naturally, especially through the sweet moments between Beth and Leo’s daughter. Those scenes add so much warmth and depth, making the romance even more meaningful. 🥹🎸
This is a soft, wholesome love story about second chances, family, and learning to open your heart—even when it doesn’t follow the rules.

I picked up Brave Hearts by Kiva Heart because I was in the mood for something a little more emotional and character-driven, and this one really drew me in. From the beginning, I felt connected to the story and curious about where the characters’ journeys would lead.
I really liked how much focus there was on the characters and their growth. The relationships felt genuine to me, and I appreciated that the story took its time developing those connections instead of rushing through them. There were moments that felt heartfelt without being overdone, which made it easier for me to stay invested.
The writing style was easy to get into, and the pacing worked well overall. I didn’t feel like the story dragged, but it also didn’t feel rushed. I found myself wanting to keep reading just to see how everything would come together.
Overall, I really enjoyed Brave Hearts. It’s a thoughtful, emotional read with strong character development and a story that keeps you engaged. If you like books that focus on relationships and personal growth, this one is definitely worth checking out.

The story follows Beth & Leo, and I really liked how different they are. Beth is messy, fun, and a bit chaotic (the burnt cupcakes scene was actually funny and kinda relatable). Leo is more serious, protective, and a bit grumpy but in a good way. Their first meeting was awkward and kind of tense, which made their chemistry even more interesting. What I loved most is the grumpy/sunshine vibes. Leo's relationship with his daughter Danielle was really sweet and emotional. The small town setting of Whisper Falls made everything feel warm and close. The festival scenes, family moments, and simple daily life made the romance feel natural. I also liked how music played a role in bringing the characters together. The pacing was easy, perfect for a light romance read. It's a cute, emotional, and easy to read romance with lovable characters, family warmth, and a slow building connection.

This was a sweet, quick read about two people finding love in a small town. One thing I enjoy about this series is how each book ties into a meaningful occasion—like Father’s Day in this one—which adds a charming emotional layer to the story.
In this short story, a single father and firefighter crosses paths with a musician taking a break from life on the road. Their meeting in the cozy small town of Whisper Falls sets the stage. As they slowly open up and take a chance on each other, their relationship unfolds with warmth, hope, and just the right touch of small‑town magic.

This story reads as the perfect grumpy/sunshine romance. Beth is the chaotic, young dreamer who feels too much and is sensitive and creative. Leo is a single father, strict, controled, protective. He is a firefighter, she is a guitar teacher, their common bond is his daughter, Danielle. Their relationship starts a bit rocky as they are so opposite, but as they spend time in class, and with Danielle, they start to see more of each other, she brings freedom and spontaneity and he offers stability and constant to their relationship. Make it a balanced love affair!.

But when she starts teaching his daughter, they see much more in each other. And a bit of Father’s Day magic gives them more stability and understanding. Beautiful, heartwarming and sweet short read. Wonderful characters and nice story line. Enjoyed it.

Brave Hearts shows a quiet strength that is woven into every page. I felt that the emotional stakes felt higher. The risks may be sharper, but the payoff is actually satisfying. I think the book captured the vulnerability of loving boldly in uncertain times. Their love is tender. This is for everyone who believes that love should be fought for.

Cute, fun with a lot of heart story about a firefighter and musician. Well written with great chemistry between characters. Funny and serious at the same time. Really good read. Another great book in the series. Highly recommend book, series and author.
finding their rhythm I liked how Beth and Leo found their rhythm with each other, when you truly carea about somebody, the differences fade to the background.
This was a sweet blooming romance between a guitar player and a firefighter. It's well written . I did wish it was a bit longer to see where the romance led.
