Batman by Tom King Omnibus, Vol. 2

Batman by Tom King Omnibus

by Tom King, Mikel Janín (Illustrator), Tony S. Daniel (Illustrator)

Batman can fix Gotham. Bruce Wayne isn’t sure he can fix himself. As Bruce and Selina move toward the possibility of a shared future, everything else begins to break—friendships, faith, and the line between justice and obsession. This is the heart of Tom King’s modern Batman epic: bold, ambitious, and utterly unafraid to break the Dark Knight to see what’s left.

Catwoman said yes to Batman’s marriage proposal, but there’s much to be done before they can wed: getting a dress, finalizing a guest list, and dealing with the small matter of Catwoman being framed…for 237 murders?! If all else goes smoothly, this will be a marriage all of Gotham City can celebrate. But things in Gotham never go smoothly, especially when The Joker is ready to be the ultimate wedding crasher!

And later, Batman is pushed to his limit when he discovers that his recent brutal encounters with Mr. Freeze, the KGBeast, and more were all orchestrated by the same unseen mastermind. The Penguin claims Bane is pulling the strings, but Bane is in a near-catatonic state and safely locked away in Arkham Asylum. Someone is lying…but who?

Okey. So I cheated a little. I started reading the Batman deluxe editions after I finnished of reading the first omnibus. So once I got a hold of this one I started reading from the point where I left of in the deluxe editions.

This was a very quick read and I love the knightmare build-up this third time around simply because I now know what is coming and the meaning behind the issues.

This run was highly controversial and put people on extreme sides and opinion and that is totally okey. I still stand for thinking that this is a great take on Batman, that takes the humanity of the character to a new level.

Can't wait for omnibus volume...So therefor I am gonna start reading deluxe volume 6 right away!
