I'll split you apart and make you beg for more" He dropped his lips to the base of her throat and inhaled her sweet scent. "And I'll be gone before you wake up."
"Is that how you court a lady?"
"You're not a lady and I don't court."
"If you don't court, what do you do?"
"I fuck."
"Then just fuck me."

I've been a huge fan of Karin Tabke for quite some time. I even loved her PNR titles under her pen name of Karin Harlow. While this is the second book in a series, it's easily read as a a standalone. While I did read the first book, Breaking Bad, I'd be lying if I told you I remember even a page from it. I had absolutely no trouble getting right into the swing of things here though.

In a Bad Way is exactly the sort of delicious set up I love. It's this lusty little hate-to-love scenario, though not quite. Allow me to explain.
He liked his women tall, sleek, sophisticated, and disease free.
The sexual encounters facilitated by those worldly goddesses? Neat and a la carte. It was how he rolled. No extras, easily digested, and a fleeting memory.

Special Agent Flynn Ryker likes his women uncomplicated. A sweaty night between the sheets and a mutual understanding that that's all it will ever be. After watching his father cheat on his mother with countless strippers and defile the sanctity of marriage, the last thing he wants is to end up like him. It's also guaranteed that he has an ingrained dislike for strippers. So imagine his surprise when a curvy little beauty is exactly who catches his eye at a strip club while at a bachelor party for his buddy.

Izabella "Izzy" or as she's known at work, "Wild Side", is not quite what she appears to be. She's a cocktail waitress at a strip club that's recently been promoted to stripping. But she's a girl with a plan. She's looking for any clue about a missing woman with a deep connection to her that was last seen at the club. She may be on her way to law school, but she's also moonlighting as a stripper for answers. Then she gets a proposition that she can't turn down: roofie a cop at the club, get him in a compromising position and she just may finally get the answers that she so desperately seeks. And of course that cop that catches her eye is the too cocky for his own good, Flynn.
I don't THINK I can fuck any girl, I KNOW I can...
But I only pick girls who want to fuck me. And, tiny dancer, your 'fuck-me' pheromones are screaming loud and clear to my 'I-want-to-fuck-you-back' receptors."

Thus begins an intricate dance of I hate you/ I want you, with a bit of Get lost/ come back thrown in for good measure. As for me? I devoured every angsty morsel of it even while it did drive me out of my ever loving mind sometimes.

Flynn is exactly the time of man that Izzy knows she doesn't need. He's rich, entitled, and a manwhore. He's way too much like her estranged father and there's no love lost between her and daddy, that's for sure. So between her not wanting someone like her dad, and Flynn not wanting to be like his dad, well, it makes for some interesting reading.

As much as I wanted to throttle the two of them at times, I can't deny that their chemistry was through the roof. Flynn and Izzy burn up the pages together. Though I did get frustrated with Flynn's borderline antagonistic and demeaning treatment of Izzy because of her "profession" at times. It took much too long for him to finally remove his head from his ass, but again, it did make for some entertaining reading.

There's the added element of suspense that ties the entire story together. The mystery of what happened to Alexandra Chasten is one that kept me turning the pages eagerly, only to be left hanging at the end. While the story gives a very satisfying HEA for the couple, it's unresolved about the mystery of Alexandra's disappearance. That conclusion is something we'll be getting in a new spin-off series and damn but the set up for it sound delicious. Too bad the wait till April 2016 just may kill me.

I loved In A Bad Way much more than book 1. It was sexy, suspenseful, and did I mention sexy? My one quibble is the terminology that was often used during the sex scenes. I'm not a big fan of the word "penis" in erotic romance. Nor am I big on things like comparing of her hoo-hah to a raw oyster, or him sliding into her aching void. But in the grand scheme of things, that was barely a blip on my radar. I was so enraptured in the story that I barely batted an eyelash at it. And that says something, because I'm typically extremely picky with that stuff. Everything else about this book worked for me: the pacing, the story, and most especially the romance. Sure Flynn and Izzy had bumps along the way to their HEA but that only made it so satisfying when they finally reached it. Oh and if you haven't read The Chronicles of Katrina yet (Simon makes a much appreciated appearance in this book), I'm not sure what you're doing with your life.

When Agent Ryker sees her in her skimpy bikini, all bets are off. A man that has zero interest in a relationship or even a stripper, finds himself unable to say no or to walk away. Even when that stripper intends on breaking more than a few laws.

Izzy didn’t grow up with dreams of working in a strip club, but when her half-sister goes missing, she knows she has to get to the bottom of it. Working at Surf’s Up was the way to do just that. But when she finally gets a chance at accessing the criminal boss of the club, she’s going to have to go all in to get the information she’s after.

When Ryker catches on to her plan but wants to allow it to play out, neither of them expected the sparks to fly and for their need to be so strong. Ryker. A man who is convinced he’ll never want love and the hurt that comes from a broken heart, broken marriage... falls for the girl who refuses to be anyone’s dirty little secret.

This was my very first Karin Tabke read and I was so pleased that I took a chance on it. In a Bad Way was a bit of a romantic suspense, with complex storyline that in no way overshadowed the romantic elements of the story. This story was also off the charts sexy! I lost count of the number of times these two went at it. But it wasn’t overly sexed up, it worked perfectly. The characters were insanely attracted to one another and it just made sense that once they got their hands on each other, they would be going at it like rabbits.

The writing was solid, the plot kept my attention and I adored these two characters – even with the back and forth over committing and getting over their fears of a relationship/love – I just could not find any fault with them at all.

I look forward to going back to the prior books to read about the other characters and will definitely be picking up more from this author in the future!

I'm pretty sure I just spent the entire time I read this book turned on .... holy sex, batkids!

This story is off the charts HOT !! I say this right off the bat because I want every future reader to know that there is sex sex sex and more sex in this story but it totally fits. It's exactly what should be in it. It's exactly who Isadora Fuentes and Flynn Ryker are. Two people with a more kismet connection I have yet to meet in my literary world. When their eyes focused on each other, even I felt the spark. Their connection was instant but Karin Tabke did not make their relationship into an insta-love one.
Both of these guys had to grow in the story. Both as individuals and as a couple. And it was done perfectly. I devoured their story from start to finish.
One of the best parts about this book, in my opinion, is how there really is two stories going on but neither one took from the other. We have the relationship of the H/h and we have the suspense of Isadora's sister...neither story line took front and center. That's exceptional to me. Not many authors can pull off something like that. In my reading experience, most of the time something will fall short..but not this time. These story lines were very well executed and developed perfectly.
I cannot recommend this book high enough. It honestly deserves a higher ranking that 5 stars!

"He was a magnet to her steel. Law of attraction personified, She could kick herself for letting him get under her skin. Life was so much simpler with no complications"

I will be the very first person to admit that contemporary romance is normally not my thing, but when this lovely cherry got dangled in front of my face, I dived right in. Most notably because I adore this author, but when I read the blurb about the book, I was intrigued.

Isadora Fuentes has been working in a strip joint for a few months now, the pre-law student is in desperate need of finding the half-sister, who when asked Isa for help, was denied. When guilt set in and Isadora seeks out her sister, Alex, she finds no trace of her. Working at the Surf's Up as a scantily clad cocktail waitress is the only way to discover anything about the sister whose disappearance wasn't even noted by their politician father. The heavy handed Surf's Up manager, Russian giant, Andre puts Wild Style, Isadora's stripper name, up to the task of drugging and videoing her in a compromising position with one of the patrons for information about her sister. This little task will include actually stripping for this group of men, which Wild Style hasn't had to do in the past as a cocktail waitress, but getting info on her sister is more important than her modesty.

Special Agent Flynn Ryker makes an appearance at his friend's bachelor party at the Surf's Up and when he spots the petite but curvy spitfire stripper, his desire overrides his sanity. Flynn is sex on a stick but with an impenetrable heart, or so he thinks until Wild Style comes dancing her way into his orderly life and throws him a curve ball.

Wild Style has chosen Flynn as her mark, but the man is no idiot. When Isadora attempts to roofie Flynn, he plays along with her scheme to find out just what she's about. Wild Style's attempt at deception backfires big time and things get so super heated that it seems flames might consume this sizzling pair. Once Wild Style comes clean about her issues, the protective mode in Flynn come out full blown, Flynn however is relationship shy and even though his attraction to Isadora is off the charts, sex with her is all he wants, or so he thinks.

Isadora has been hurt deep down in her young life with rejection being the norm. Now facing rejection from the first man man to show her passion may break her. But finding her sister is paramount. Alex is her only living relative and just thinking that she is in danger or hurting drives Isa. Placing herself in danger to find her sister doesn't sit well with Flynn, but Isadora is force to be reckoned with.

Holy cow is this a great read! Karin Tabke has sucked me into her world and I don't want to leave. IN A BAD WAY is a superbly written, fast paced sexual journey not to be missed. Isadora, with all her game, is still an innocent with a whole new world in front of her, and she takes the bull by the horns. That being said, Flynn, the proverbial bull, is just as stubborn as one can be. His denial of the gift that is right in front of him, makes this reader want to take a baseball bat to his head. Hmmmm but Isa did that with a wrench! You go girl. READ THIS BOOK! That is all!

A cop and a stripper walk into a bar… In a Bad Way, Flynn Ryker meets his match when he takes a stripper home for a one night stand. Wild Style, aka Isadora Fuentes is determined to find her sister. As the bastard child of a powerful politician, Isadora is left out in the cold when her father throws her and her mother out of his house. Young Isadora has to grow up very fast and some of it all alone as her best friend who turned out to be her sister gives her the cold shoulder. In addition, Isadora's mother passes away. Still, Isadora is determined to make something of herself. One could say she has daddy issues. Amazing, she does not. She does have something to prove but not at the expense of her sanity.

I really liked the characters in this story. I loved Isadora. Her life makes my heart hurt. The suffering she experiences at the hands of callous adults and still manages to be a well-adjusted adult, impresses me. Her perseverance in the face of adversity and her loyalty astounds me. Isadora is a role model exemplifying how parents can be the reason why a person works harder, not an excuse for being pathetic. She's not perfect though. She's a stubborn girl who does seem to like things the hard way. Some of the conflict in this story could so easily be resolved if Isadora didn't take such a hard stance to keep Flynn in the dark. To her point, Flynn is a bit of a jerk and deserves it. He is supposed to be this "Special Agent" and he can't even be bothered to get the full dossier on Isadora. Talk about pathetic.

I think in this series, I must be resigned to disappointment when it comes to the male leads. Flynn is not a bad guy; he is just irrational. Perhaps his character is specifically designed in this manner because it shows how a man who is hot for a woman cannot abide by her choice to strip. Stripers do not equate to prostitutes but this is pretty much the case. Flynn is hung up on Isadore's job and never tries to understand why she does it and learn more about her. She is more than just a job. The point Ms. Tabke makes with Isadore's hard stance is a good one. Unfortunately, it is a commentary I believe many will neither understand nor appreciate. I'm team Isadore.

The suspense to this book is predictable which is a surprise for me when it comes to a Ms. Tabke book. The plot does move as expected and the story pace flows well. I expected a few more twists and they finally show up at the end. This leaves a slight cliffhanger which makes me hope the next book in this series comes quickly. I get that this is a "bad boys" series. I'm just hoping the next "boy" is less a moron and more a dangerous "bad" boy. This series should be about bad girls and the idiot men who love them. Recommended for romantic suspense readers who like a sassy and risk-taking woman.

In a Bad Way is the story of Isadora Fuentes (aka Pink and Wild Style), a college student and the dirty little secret of her father, Senator Chastain. Izzy's estranged half sister Alex goes missing after working at Surf's Up, a strip club run by Russian Mafia types. Izzy gets a job there as a cocktail waitress hoping to find her sister. Sexy cop Flynn Ryker meets bikini clad Pink at Surf's Up when she is chosen to be the entertainment at his buddy's bachelor party. When Pink's boss orders her to "compromise" Ryker, Pink sees it as an opportunity to get more info. But Ryker is on to her and her plan falls through. Pink confesses to Ryker and, protective man that he is, he knows he can't walk away. Not just because he's a good guy but also because Pink is different from anyone he has known before. Things get oh so steamy from the get go. We're talking explosive! Ryker, though, has no plans to commit. He saw first hand how his father's passion for strippers destroyed his mother. He's seen too many marriages go up in flames. Pink doesn't want to end up like her mother- loving a man who can't love her for who she is. Both are afraid to take the risk. As Ryker and Pink team up to bring the Russians down and help Pink's sister, they discover that the risk is worth taking if you want something "in a bad way". Karen Tabke is a new author for me and I am hooked. This was a fast paced story with lots of romance, suspense, and drama. I will definitely be reading her next book! I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. Lucky me!!

Izzy knows how to get her man's blood pumping, “I’m so happy you came home with me,”Izzy breathed, running her hands up his hard chest. Damn, he felt good. “I want to do bad things to you, Special Agent Ryker.” He's so romantic with his words, “that’s how you make me feel, Isa. Fierce. God help the person who tries to come between us.” He brushed his lips across hers. “I’ll kill them.” I really enjoyed this book Flynn was hot.

WOW, how could I have missed Karin's work until now ?

This is Flynn and Izzy or AKA "Wild Side's" book and what a book it is !!!. He's a special agent......emphasizing the word "special" especially tearing up the sheets with his conquests. Izzy is well a waitress/exotic dancer......see nice description. Actually Izzy is more, but that is not revealed until later.

This story line is FULL of twists and as I term them "are they really going to do that's ?". Flynn and Izzy have a definitely hate/lust/love relationship going on. Nevertheless they are thrust together into an investigation searching for Izzy's half sister Alex.........and that's not the only thrusting that goes on......really Donna, you smutty reviewer !! Yeah, yeah !

Moving on, this book is a non stop whirl wind of heat, plots and passion. My ultimate hallelujah was the HEA for our most unlikely couple !!!

A huge well done to Karin and many thanks for this opportunity x

Karin Tabke has done it again! Just when I thought I loved the last characters I read in the Bad Boys of the Bay Series, she introduces us to Flynn and Pink!!! OMG!! The chemistry between them is OFF THE CHART and the plot keeps you engaged!! It's smooth, fast and hot! They need a "Totally Hot" button to describe the plot of this book. There's mystery, chemistry, bad guys, good guys and totally hot agents that make their appearance from the other Bad Boys of the Bay books!!! You are not going to want to put this book down once you start reading it. It will make you "BEG" for more!!

This story started out strong but faltered about halfway through. There was too much back and forth "I love him, I hate him", which became annoying. I think the story would have been better with 100 less pages, more suspense/story, less sex.

I liked this one enough that I'm interested reading the next book in the series.

Karin Tabke was a new to me author a few weeks ago when I discovered her sexy novella, Bad To The Bone. Part of her Bad Boys of the Bay series, it is everything a novella should be, eliciting a 5 star review from me. Who doesn’t love a bad boy? Ms. Tabke has a wonderfully distinctive voice, and a writing style that will have you hating the words, The End. Her scenes come alive with a vibrancy that carries throughout the book, including the secondary characters as well. She gives us gorgeous, dominant cops with a yummy side of overprotective assholery, and a dash of kink that will have your panties teetering on the edge of spontaneous combustion. Add to that a story that takes you on a suspenseful ride, strong heroines able to bring said gorgeous cops to their knees, sex scenes that will leave your heart pounding, and…whew, lost my train of thought there for a sec. Needless to say, Ms. Tabke did it again with her newest release, In A Bad Way, Book 4 in the series.

Isadora “Izzy” Fuentes is in over her head working her own brand of undercover at the Surf’s Up strip club in San Francisco’s seedy Tenderloin district. Since it was the last place her half sister, Alex, was heard from she’s taken it upon herself to discover what happened. The bastard child of a senator who refuses to admit she exists, Izzy has long since broken contact with Alex. However, one cryptic, panicked phone call pleading for help was all it took for soft hearted Izzy to come to the rescue. Even if it means putting her own life in danger. Izzy is a 24 year old college student who’s never set foot in a strip club, and the Russians who run the joint aren’t exactly good samaritans. Thankfully, her curvaceous body and pouty innocence were all Boris cared about when he hired her as a cocktail waitress. Unfortunately, her plan to keep a low profile while digging for information ended tonight when she’s “promoted” to stripper, whether she likes it or not. Boris wants Izzy to work a private bachelor party of cops, slip one a roofie, get him in a compromising position, and make a video. What. The. Hell? How is she going to manage that let alone get away with it? Once Izzy spies the perfect mark, she realizes the job might not be too big a sacrifice. As long as she doesn’t get caught.

He stood there, blatantly giving her a long leisurely up-and-down. He was a magnificent specimen. At least six four. Thick black hair, cropped short on the sides, a little longer on top. Blue eyes that snapped, crackled, and popped with all kinds of hidden wickedness.

Special Agent Flynn Ryker doesn’t allow himself to get too close to any woman, much less fool around with strippers. A hard lesson learned from his heartless douchebag of a father. But this tiny dancer with the knockout body, full pink lips, and doe eyes captivates him, and his gut instinct insists there’s more to her than the spiky blue wig and barely there pink bikini. Flynn didn’t expect it to be the roofie he spies floating in the water she just served him. He also never expected to be blindsided by the intense connection crackling between them. Game on, little girl. Flynn decides to play along and see what she’s up to.

In A Bad Way is a twisty, turny story that never lets up on the action. There are too many elements that, if revealed here, would spoil the story for you so I’m zipping my lip in that regard. However, I will say Izzy and Flynn are quite complex characters and, despite my frustration with each of them at times, I loved them both. As a relationship develops, the inner conflicts they each struggle with are well written and believable. Ms. Tabke skillfully reveals their backgrounds and the incidents that have shaped their personalities, thus giving us an understanding of what makes them tick. That’s not to say I didn’t want to shout, Enough already!a time or two. Despite the emotional back and forth Izzy and Flynn subject themselves to, there’s one thing they can’t deny:

Whatever they had went beyond sex. He didn’t have to touch her to feel their connection. It thrummed like a live wire around them. When they came together, Jesus, the way she made him feel. Like Superman. He’d never felt anything like it.

Not only do Izzy and Flynn share a phenomenal connection, the sexual tension between them virtually vibrates off the pages. Ms. Tabke writes sex scenes that make you feel like a voyeur. In a good way! Whether flirty and slow to build, or fast and needy, they culminate in a knock-your-socks-off crescendo every time. And trust me, there are LOTS of times in this book. If this were a paperback copy, mine would be dog-eared all over the place and the spine cracked to hell. Once again, Ms. Tabke has written a book I couldn’t put down.
My rating for xtreme-delusions.com is 4.5 stars.

Agent Flynn Ryker is taken by a stripper named pink as he sees her the night that he is at the club for a party for his friend who is getting married. A man who does not do relationships or anything past the night he does not even spend the night, have breakfast, shower with them, and no one female has been to his house. He cannot take his eyes off of her and as he is getting ready to leave he notices that she has slipped a drug into his glass of water, so he decides to go along with it and see where this takes him. When they get to her place and she finally get to the point of stripping him he realizes she is trying to make a video and then he wakes up. After a few moments of talking they are back at each other and during the hot love session he realizes she is a virgin and she tells him to continue and then he is hooked and the drug is Pink aka Izzy, Isadora Fuentes, and she is more complex than he can even imagine and he spends the night and that is the beginning of breaking one of his rules right after the next one. When he finds out why she is working and the surfs up and realizes she won’t quit he helps her. As much as you are following with the story about the Russian mob it is really what is going to happen between the two of them and how she has completely destroyed his life but in a good way. It just takes him a while to figure it out. Plenty of hot steamy bed room scenes to keep anyone going. A good book. Read it to see if Pink gets her agent. I got this book from net galley.

Another HOT story about the delicious cops from the Bay. Here, we get to meet Special Agent Flynn Ryker and the woman who brings him to his knees.

Isadora Fuentes (Izzy) is a stripper, something Flynn cannot get over since this is what destroyed his parents’ marriage. But Izzy is not like other women...and Flynn is not himself when he’s around her. She boils his blood and his possessive caveman comes to the surface.

Izzy is working at a strip club, trying to gather information on her missing sister and in exchange for this information she must con a cop…little does she know that setting her eyes on Flynn will change her life in ways she wasn’t prepared for. Flynn catches on to her game and decides to play along, forcing a series of events that pull them together in a way that makes it impossible for them to separate.

Flynn and Izzy are perfect together. The heat they generate is so intense that others will get scorched trying to come between them. They are such great characters, strong and loyal and willing to do anything to keep the other safe.

There is so much suspense and drama mixed with romance. The exciting storyline and the off the charts chemistry between Flynn and Izzy will keep your attention from beginning to end. And let’s not forget the characters from previous books coming in to add hilarity to the story; Simon and Jack are back!!!

I am a fan of this authors work. She always develops her female characters as strong independent woman able to take care of themselves and this book is no different. Isadora is unapologetic and is doing what she needs to do to find her sister. Flynn is a character that I have been waiting to read about for a long time and he disappointed me a bit in the beginning but came through in the end. The story line is topical to what is going on today's world in terms of illegal activities (female abduction / slavery) and keeps up a good pace. There are comedic moments, tense ones and some hot explosive chemistry scenes. I liked catching up with Simon, Katerina, Jack and Stevie and look forward to more storylines from these characters.

I enjoyed the premise for this story. Isadore is trying to find her half-sister after turning away. This takes her into a strip club. She is very comfortable in her own skin and more focused on finding Alex than her own safety. The instant she sees Flynn, the electricity zaps both of them. They are very hot together but carry their own issues that try to keep them apart. Flynn is very protective and possessive without going too far. Their struggle to work through their problems and be honest with the other kept me riveted to the story.

This was the first story by Karin Tabke that I have read, and I will be checking out more of her books. I had a chance to read this through Netgalley for an honest review.

Izzy is a virgin, stripper looking for her lost half-sister. Flynn is an FBI agent. They meet at a strip club and have an instant, intense sexual attraction. Izzy is tasked with creating her own sex tape involving a cop. She takes Flynn home, tells him everything and proceeds to have sex with him a lot. I liked Izzy, she would do anything to find her sister, she didn't cry about how tough her life was when she was broke and abandoned by her father. I hated Flynn, he was a judgmental prick. He had a BIG problem with Izzy being a stripper. He mentioned it every other sentence. He saw that Izzy was a good person and he was attracted to her like no one else but he couldn't get past the stripping, and he made Izzy feel bad about it. He didn't respect her and he didn't deserve her.

Izzy is trying to find her sister. She is doing something out of character by working at a strip club but she feels like that shouldn't factor into who she is for who she is with in a relationship. Flynn meets her at her job and feels and electric connection with her. He has a few issues to overcome like the fact that other dudes, including his coworkers, have seen her topless. While the main plot doesn't find a resolution by the end of the book, it does move forward. I'd like to see this series through. Flynn is sexy as hell!

Great book with a great story. The characters were amazing. I really liked Flynn and Izzy. Plenty of action to keep things interesting and very hot! Flynn is a really good BBF. I'll definitely be looking for more in this series and from this author.

I love this group of FBI agents. The best character in this story ,however , has to be Isadora. I love her attitude, her stubbornness, her all over personality. The ending had me holding my breath a little. I am ready for more.

Damn I love this Author, but this book has been really tough going. The cover is sexy and the plot is hot, but it has just dragged on and on. I’m struggling to finish it.
The whole smart-stripper and hot cop thing is super sexy, but they are both so damn annoying, going round and round in circles with whether they want to be together. At 86% I’ve had enough, but am going to push through 😓.

IN A BAD WAY was a very lengthy and repetitive read, with frustrating characters and only a few redeeming qualities.

A botched roofie/blackmail attempt against FBI Special Agent Flynn Ryker leaves him confused and reeling over his instantaneous and electric reaction to his sexy little culprit, stripper Isadora Fuentes.

Izzy never imagined herself working as a bikini clad cocktail waitress at a seedy strip club, but as her missing sister's last known place of employment, she's integrated herself there to get answers…answers she's promised if she drugs a cop and makes a sex tape so the owners can get him on their payroll. Considering she's a virgin, that's going to take some serious acting! Her plan backfires, but it led her to Flynn, who promises to give her some explosive orgasms and to help her figure out what happened to her sister. Unfortunately, Izzy has shown her breasts to half of San Francisco, and Flynn doesn't want to share. Between Flynn's father's philandering past and Izzy's mother's history as the other woman, the two of them have a tough time reconciling their childhood traumas with their growing adult feelings.

And Izzy isn't out of the woods with the club's Russian owners yet either…they want that sex video. When Izzy finds herself a whole lot deeper than she ever thought possible, Flynn calls in the big guns to help protect the woman he's quickly falling for.

Depending on where you look (the cover or the title page or the various book lists in the rear), IN A BAD WAY is either the 2nd or the 4th book in the Bad Boys of the Bay series. I've read only one other book by Ms. Tabke, and was less than impressed, so that had me wary to delve into IN A BAD WAY. I don't know if it's a recurring theme in her books, or just a coincidence, but I can't figure out why her otherwise strong and independent female characters play the "say one thing but mean another" card. Izzy pushes Flynn away and sobs when he doesn't automatically fight for her…after only a few hours of knowing her, after her attempting to drug him, strip him down and make a sex tape of him for blackmail purposes. I sure as shit wouldn't chase after her crazy ass either!!

This story was close to 450 pages of "should I or shouldn't I?", "I will show him how love can be; I want you to never contact me again; I can make you a better man; I wish I'd never met you." It was so frustrating and so SO long! In fact, I think this story could've been cut down to less than 200 pages without compromising any of the intentions of the storyline, and in fact likely improving the readers' ability to connect with the characters instead of wishing they could throttle them.

Toward the end, the action finally got going and IN A BAD WAY actually became enjoyable. That and the erotic sex scenes were the redeeming qualities that saved this book from a terrible rating from me.

Bottom Line: Lengthy and extremely repetitive read with characters that make you want to pull your hair out. BUT there's some super sex and decent action thrown in there that slightly redeemed this one. - See more at: http://www.theromancereviews.com/view...

This was one HOT read filled with some very heated scenes. Isadora father makes her his dirty little secret but when her half sister comes up missing from working in a strip club run by the mafia Izzy goes to work there to help find her sister. Her sister might not know about Izzy but she knows about her and wants to bring her home safe. Izzy is the entertainment at Flynn’s buddies bachelor party when she finds out he is a cop she sees this as away to get information. Ryker knows something isn’t right he is on to her as her plan falls apart she confesses to him. With this confession he knows he must help her anyway he can. He can’t get her out of his mind she is different from any women he knows. He puts his life on the line to protect her. These two burn up the pages from the start Ryker isn’t looking for love just some fun there is no way he will comment to her. He had to live with his father’s past which destroyed his mother. They have both seen pain Pink had to watch her mother give so many years to a man that did not love her. No way will she put herself in the same place. They have trust issues both afraid to reach out to the other and give their heart. Sometimes you can’t let go and you must go for the gold as these two find. Sometime love is worth any price.

This story has a wonderful plot I thought it was well written. This is one author that knows how to hook you giving you a page turning story that holds your attention. This is one read that you will find you might need a fan to keep you cooled down. It is full of hot steamy passion leaving you wanting the book to not end.

I freaking LOVED this book!!! I can’t believe that I haven’t been introduced to Karin’s work until now, I mean…I am definitely going to be going back to the other books in the series and I REALLY look forward to any future work as well! This story line is FULL of twists but in a good way! I never became confused or lost interest because of how much was going on. Flynn and Izzy have a definitely hate/lust/love relationship going on. Nevertheless they are put together for an investigation searching for Izzy's half-sister Alex. And boy oh boy, the sex? The sex is awesome!!!

Moving on… HAHA…

I. LOVED. THIS. BOOK!!!! There just isn’t anything for me to complain about and I feel if I kept writing I would give spoilers, which is something I absolutely HATE…sooooo do yourself a favor and grab this one! You won’t regret it!

4.5 wonderful stars!
After Izzy´s sister disappearance, she infiltrates herself as a waitress into a strip club ran by the Russian mafia. After three months of getting no information, she is asked to make a compromising video with a cop to have leverage to black mail him or the SFPD. Little did Izzy know when she spotted Flynn —an FBI special agent. At this point, Izzy finds herself torn between two options: asking Flynn for help to find her sister, or do as she's told and risk her life either way. This is an incredible sexy action-packed read that everybody should read. The chemistry between Izzy and Flynn is unbelievable, yet, I was´t completely pleased with insta-love/lust. Still, the action, the mystery, the angst, and the political chit-chat were great —loved it!

A virgin law student, goes undercover as a stripper at the club where her half-sister disappeared, and tries to roofie a cop to make a blackmail video, all in the first 12%.
I just couldn´t get into this, she was full-on sex kitten, tempting and teasing one minute, and the next clueless virgin not knowing how or why.
This just made me feel very old, so sorry, but I couldn´t connect with the heroine. And I realized that I´ve been reading a lot of older heroines lately, so I guess this is just not my age group. Once again, sorry, but this is on me. Love Karin Tabke´s writing usually so this made me sad. Might try it at another time.
