Is this better than book 2? Abso-fuckin-lutely. But unfortunately the bar was in the depths of hell so while I liked this more than book 2, I can’t actually say it was a good read. And I’m not sure why this book is labeled as dark romance. Is it because of The Hunt? In the sample for book one, the 3 men who run The Hunt are going to kidnap the mayor’s daughter to teach him a lesson so that one very much felt dark however this one didn’t have that vibe at all. All the encounters between Theo & Victor were consensual at The Hunt and afterwards and even though Victor had a MMA boxing gym it wasn’t corrupt or a place that did underground fights. So, I think this is labeled as dark romance because of how kinky and smutty it is which is super disappointing to me because the sample & blurb for book 1 made this sound like a secret society series and finding out it had MM too made me ecstatic only to just have smutty smut smut and little to no plot. And I’m sorry but I don’t consider kinky smut to be dark romance 🤷🏻♀️
So if you can put up with the fact this is over 450 pages and has one of the most annoying back and forth relationships ever to exist then the kinky smut may be worth it to you. For me though? Ehhhh but I read the whole thing didn’t I? 🤭🤭

Yeah, the cover didn’t help 🥲
I’m actually sad because I wanted to love it, but this one didn’t work out for me. Like at all. I skimmed through most of it because I’m too stubborn to just dnf :(
SO it was totally different from Julian and Elliot’s story, and while it actually begins with intimacy, the Hunt doesn’t happen for the two of them and after their first time the relationship unfolds in a more conventional way.
But ohmygod did this book piss me off
The first half it seemed like “the size difference, he’s so much bigger, I’m so much smaller, his bigger frame, how small he is” was being repeated several times a page, almost every page, which is just ridiculous 🤯 We got that the first time quite ok!!
But that’s not the worst thing, the book is like 400 pages and it had absolutely no business being that long. It could have been 200 with how things were repeating.
And I’d love to say that Theo was an angel and Victor kept pissing me off the entire time, but honestly, Theo was not much better.
Victor kept hiding, Theo kept saying “I’m not going to be your dirty secret” and going away, a week passed, they meet and fuck - rinse and repeat. That’s basically it. For 10 months!!!
And then suddenly the whole fight club is queer and at one point half of them were fucking each other together 🤯
And no, the smut didn’t save the day. I’m usually all in for the dirty talk, but here Daddy felt cringey for some reason.. Especially when the roles were reversed. The fucktrain in the end was also too much. Self-sucking? Yeah, I finally discovered something I don’t want to come across ever again 🫠
I didn’t really connect with them and I hate when that happens. But their actions didn’t make sense and all that going back and forth was just 😫
Maybe I’m just not in the mood, Kyiv was heavily bombed this night and I almost didn’t sleep, but mood is one thing and the repetitiveness is impossible to ignore((

DARK CRAVING by Selena Winters is what happens when one massive, emotionally repressed fighter meets one seductive chaos gremlin in black lace and suddenly heterosexuality starts buffering. This book is dark, obsessive, spicy, and emotionally messy in the most addictive way possible.
Victor spends a large portion of this story trying to convince himself he absolutely does not want Theo while simultaneously reacting to him like his entire nervous system has been hijacked. Sir, the evidence was stacking up like unpaid parking tickets. Theo, meanwhile, is confident, shameless, flirtatious, and fully aware he could ruin this man’s life with one smirk and a whispered “Daddy.” Which, to be fair, he basically does.
The chemistry between these two is unreal. Every interaction feels charged, dangerous, and slightly inappropriate in the best dark romance way. Selena Winters doesn’t ease into the tension either. She throws readers directly into obsession, dominance, possessiveness, and emotional unraveling from the start. Humanity really keeps creating giant tattooed men with communication problems and calling it romance. Fortunately for us, it works.
What surprised me most was the emotional depth beneath all the spice. Victor’s identity conflict actually feels raw and believable instead of repetitive, and Theo isn’t just seductive for the sake of shock value. Underneath the confidence, he wants to be desired openly, not hidden away. That emotional layer gave the story weight beyond the extremely athletic bedroom activities.
The spice? Disrespectfully hot. Absolutely not safe for public reading unless you enjoy making prolonged eye contact with strangers after gasping at your Kindle. The size difference dynamic, the possessiveness, the tension, the psychological push-and-pull… all executed ridiculously well.

Persuasive insistent bottom x in denial top.
Victor was so eye roll enducing with the gay denial. The juxtaposition between his fighter persona where he's said to always be in control and them him being all outta sorts everytime he saw Theo was annoying to read. I liked Theo's sassiness/'takes matters into his own hands' type of personality at first but he just started to become an annoying little fuck as well. He initially starts out wanting to use Victor to add to his mantle of "straight"-guy conquests, then continues to pursue Victor knowing he's in denial about his sexuality and much less coming out any time soon, yet gives the guy an ultimatum talking bout "I'm not gonna stay hidden forever". Like I was also frustrated with Victor being so deep in denial and wanting to always hide away, but you can't be giving people ultimatums and forcing them to come out, just freaking leave him and find an out and proud gay guy for you to date ffs.
Anyway, all to say for the most part of reading this, I was rolling my eyes excessively. They had a fluid sexual dynamic but some of the scenes and dialogue felt so repetitive.
The last 50 or 60 pages of this book are what pulled me back in. I was about to rate this a 2 star but added one more cos of these last couple of chapters.
Overall, it's an okay high-steam read but I did find it a bit too repetitive.

MM romance with size difference, secret relationship, lots of angst and pining, and a slow burn lover story with insta spice.
Loved their chemistry, loved Theo's determination, teasing and planning, and loved seeing Victor's emotional depth and possessiveness.
I adored the ending, and gym rebranding, and all the themes of identity and acceptance.

Well, this was a very heavy and intense read—and I did enjoy it. 🌶️🔥 Compared with what I've read before, this was definitely on another level when it came to spice. I'm not entirely sure I would personally classify it as dark romance, but there are A LOT of spicy scenes.
I definitely would not recommend reading this as a standalone. Start with the first book. There are so many connections, characters, and situations carried over from the previous books, and I think you will miss a lot of context if you jump straight into Dark Craving.
What I really enjoyed was watching the super-masculine Victor slowly break apart, chapter after chapter, piece by piece. Seeing him discover his desire for Theo and question everything he thought he knew about himself was one of the most interesting parts of the story. It wasn't just about intimacy or physical attraction; there was something deeper in the way their bodies and emotions connected. Victor exploring his bisexuality, his desires, and a completely different side of himself was fascinating to read.
The mirror room scene during Theo's birthday was probably one of the most memorable scenes for me. Victor allowing himself to experience something completely new and finally surrendering control was written so well. But what I loved most was not simply the spice—it was seeing Victor emotionally break apart and finally show vulnerability. Watching the walls around him slowly come down made his character development feel much more powerful.
And then we get THAT scene in front of the main team... 😳 I genuinely did not expect it! Later, the group scene where Victor experiences both giving up control and still having some control himself added another intense layer to his journey.

Let’s be real—the chemistry is doing a LOT of heavy lifting here. It’s intense, messy, and just the right level of addictive to keep you flipping pages way past when you said you’d stop. The mood? Immaculate. Dark, angsty, a little toxic—the exact vibe you sign up for with a title like this.
But Victor… my guy…
His inner turmoil? It went from intriguing to painfully dragged out. We get it—you’re conflicted, brooding, tortured, haunted… please pick one and move forward. At some point it stopped adding depth and started feeling like we were stuck in the same emotional monologue on repeat. It slowed the pacing down so much that I found myself wanting to shake him and say, “either spiral faster or heal faster, but do something.”
The story still works because when it hits, it really hits. The tension is strong, the pull between the characters is there, and you do get invested—but it could have been so much sharper with tighter pacing and less overindulgent internal angst.
Overall, it’s one of those reads that’s undeniably bingeable, even if it tests your patience a little along the way. Messy, dramatic, slightly frustrating—but still worth it if you like your romance with bite and brooding energy turned all the way up.

This series just keeps getting better! I really liked that this book changed things up a little compared to the first three. Instead of Theo and Victor catching each other during The Hunt, their relationship develops afterward, which made this one feel fresh while still keeping the dark atmosphere I loved.

I really wasn’t sure what to expect from the beginning but this turned into a great story. I wasn’t expecting the love to grow so strongly so quickly but I am glad that it did. The “hunt” is where it all started, a get together of friends turns into a whole new life and world. The freedom that Victor felt after Theo helped him find his true self. He has to figure himself out but with Theo he can accept that he wants him and not be ashamed of it. He has built himself and his business into something it shouldn’t be, a place where people are afraid of being anything other then a straight strong man with out feelings but after a life altering situation he changes. He now wants to be free to show how he feels and not care what others think about him or his business. I also love how his business ended up being a strong LGBTQ facility and was able to grow so quickly. The proposal was also great and definitely something I really hoped would happen in the end. I absolutely loved the book and can’t wait to see what comes next. I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys mm romance stories that have a physical connection.

Dark Craving was so good!! This MM romance continues the world of the Hollow Hunt and Blackwood Brothers series perfectly, and I absolutely loved Theo and Victor together.
The chemistry between these two is off the charts. The tension, the attraction, the heat—everything about their connection felt intense and consuming. This book is definitely scorching hot, but what made it stand out for me was the emotional depth underneath all that spice.
Victor’s struggle with accepting his feelings for Theo was heartbreaking at times. Watching him wrestle with who he thinks he’s supposed to be—a tough, tattooed fighter—and what he truly wants added so much weight to the story. Meanwhile, Theo’s patience and quiet support while waiting for Victor to catch up emotionally made me love him even more.

I have loved this series more than I can say and I thought Julian and Elliot would be my favorite MM couple in the series but Victor and Theo take the cake for sure!!!

This book was full on surprise after surprise after surprise and hands on smut huge on that because that’s all this book was to be honest. I did not have to be this long of a book, but it was a good adventure. I definitely love it. I definitely love when Miss Winters writes a book because it always capture your attention. I have not really read the other part of the series, but this book I was really excited to read and I’m so happy I did the ups and downs they had went through and the culture of expressing who you are as a person and seeing who didn’t like who you were but showing up stronger than ever. I loved that about this book.

The book was very well written; the dynamic between Victor and Theo was what really kept me reading. Their relationship was intense, messy, and honestly a little toxic at times, but in a way that felt intentional for the story rather than just there for shock value. There was that dangerous energy that made every scene interesting. The chemistry between them was very strong, and some of the emotional moments genuinely hit hard.
The reason it’s 4 stars instead of 5 is that this is now a second M-M romance within this series. While it was really enjoyable to read, I do relate better to F-M dark romance. After reading Kindred Kings (which I also did enjoy), I felt that I would prefer reading more F-M. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely don’t regret reading this book, and I enjoyed it very much, but my preferences are different.
Still, if you like dark romance with morally grey characters, power struggles, and a relationship that constantly walks the line between destructive and addictive, this is definitely worth reading.

This was probably not one of my favorite Selena Winters book. To be fair, I think her writing is amazing and it wouldn't deter me from reading all of her others.
I'll preface this review by saying I didn't hate the book, which is why I still gave three stars. I liked the story line. I liked Victor, but I couldn't get myself to like Theo. I understood his mindset into pushing Victor, but his brashness and forwardness with him irritated me, especially the immediate start. Victor had a lot on the line and having his sexual identity challenged would be s huge deal. Give him a bit of space. But on the flip side, I get where Theo was coming from as well and feeling like you're someone's dirty secret is a painful place to be. I still think she did well in creating the story and her writing is fantastic as always, this book just wasn't for me.

Victor isn't ready to admit he is attracted to Theo. He can't risk everything he's worked so hard to build. Theo is determined to get Victor to admit his feelings. What happens when these two collide?
This was an incredible story. The emotions of the characters was so deep. Victor struggled so much coming to terms with his true self and learning to accept love. He and Theo both had to heal from past trauma. You felt their pain so deeply. I think out of all the Hollows Hunt books this one hit the hardest. Though Elliot's story was also quite emotional. I also loved how Selena used the opportunity to create a scene where the characters deal with situations similar to the real world and show them overcoming them with class and dignity. Overall this whole series is wonderful. I highly recommend it. Though I do suggest starting with the Blackwood Brothers first.

Victor and Theo. The super masculine fighter who swears he's straight and the openly gay man who loves to taunt and make conquests out of straight men. One night, right? Theo breaks down Victors walls, and Victor doesn't know what to think. But one night becomes more. As Victor realizes who he is, you can see him becoming a more powerful version of himself. He's afraid of losing everything he's worked for but he realizes he's more afraid of losing Theo, the thing he never knew he needed. Theo knew who Victor was all along, and as patient has he was with Victor, you could see him losing him becoming frustrated that it was taking Victor this long to come to term with who he really was. I loved the soft and rugged dynamic that they have. Each time Victor would puff up his chest, Theo would bring him back down to earth. A well written, sports MM romance with a host of inclusivity that kept me turning the page to see what was coming next.

s3xu@l!ty was such a contrast from each other that it just made their paring even hotter and more just everything. Loved the aspect of a s3xu@l awakening, Victor is this strong Alpha male but when he finally gave into Theo and then slowly (even struggling) into his feelings for him was such a beautiful thing. Even Theo, never having anything serious with someone, always something fleeting, finally found someone he cared deeply for and eventually loved. And my goodness the heartbreak when things got a little tough!!! 😭😭 But yes I freaking LOVED this book. Devoured it.

Both MMC's were captivating, and I loved the character development for Victor. The whole premise of him as a person is so relatable in this day and age, and I think the author did an amazing job at unraveling the masculine toxicity - if you will - and procuring the acceptance that many men strive to obtain in their own lives.
Amazing writing style, everything just flowed.
I was recommended this, so I haven't had a chance to read the first 3 books, but after this book, I'm running!

This is one of my favorite MM books! I love the Blackwoods & the Hunt series. I NEEDED Theo & Victor's story. Victor knowing deep down what he wanted but being afraid to show who he truly was for free of being rejected by society. His inner battle is something so many men especially go through with stereotypes. I loved his character development throughout the book. And sweet & sexy Theo! He was truly Victor's match in so many ways. His character was open, charismatic, smart, but not everyone saw how truly smart & deep he was. Seeing the behind close doors & not just the bedroom/playful side of him was something I really enjoyed. The spicy was hot! I definitely recommend this if you like MM & for sure if you enjoyed Julian & Elliott, they just might make a special appearance! 😉.

I was so torn between supporting Victor and protecting Theo. Victor is finding himself and falling for Theo but he can’t let go of his image. Of course it’s frightening but it wasn’t fair on Theo. I’m glad he held on.
I hated some of the characters reactions to him coming out but sadly that’s the reality of things. People are so closed minded and love to judge.
Family is who loves and supports you, it’s not blood relatives. I’m goad they both have that.
I fully recommend, just maybe check your triggers.

This was fine read, there were elements like how Victor always backed up when Theo was near him that I didn't like but overall this was a good.
This is the fourth book of the Hollow's Hunt series, but can read as a standalone however I would recommend to read the third book of the series, this kind of follows that book.

The characters were very complex and compelling and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and expertly drawn. All in all a great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

Victor's growth and finally acceptance of his bisexuality was well done. Theo, despite his playboy ways, stepped up for Victor. Their story was beautiful and it was a strong end to the series.
