Lindsey Coffey has spent her life trying to forget bad memories. The once-thriving artist sold everything she had for a tiny beach house in the cozy town of Lewes. Now struggling to support her aging grandmother, she’s on the eve of her 40th birthday with little to her name—and chronically single.
Leo Brigman never talks about his past. The town’s new handyman is a kind-hearted soul who’s quick to help anyone who asks—and when Lindsey’s snooping makes an awkward scene in the local grocery store, he’s more than happy to fix up her beach house in exchange for a place to park his RV.
But sometimes, the past follows you.
Because someone is snooping around, searching about Leo—and asking questions he doesn’t want to answer. And when Lindsey lets a young hitchhiker bunk in her house, she quickly begins to realize that this girl is no stranger...
Will digging up old memories bring more pain than good? Or should Lindsey and Leo stop running from the past and learn to embrace it instead?
As a feel-good summer romance that’s perfect for fans of second chances and later-in-life love, The Shoreline House series is a clean & cozy beach read by bestselling author Grace Meyers that you won’t want to miss.
Grace Meyers is an author of beachy feel-good romances and women's contemporary fiction. She was born in the south, but has traveled a bit since then and now lives in a small coastal town.
Wow, that had a lot to unpack. Leo's struggles regarding his wife had me hurting for him. It is not easy being in a relationship with someone who suffers from a mental illness. I loved how Grace put a story together that helped describe what relationships can through when a marriage has to deal with an illness that is out of one's control. I loved how Lindsey stood by his side and just listened. She was his silent supported when he needed that the most. Lindsey's relationship with Elisabeth was well described and it was good to read that mother, daughter, and the adopted parents formed and actual bond. The ending was super sweet and extremely romantic. Both Leo and Lindsey deserve a true HEA!
The series comes to a close. Lindsey finds out the truth about Leo’s wife and what he has been hiding. After she finally finds Leo, Lindsey convinces him to go see her, and make his peace.
Lindsey moves forward with her art career, and is experiencing some success, especially with her art show. A 4th of July Celebration with Elizabeth and her family creates extra fuss about Lindsey’s 40th birthday.
Things like bright for Lindsey’s future. Maybe Leo will be part of her life
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
