Ruined by one god. Cursed by another. Murdered for being the monster they made her. That's the Medusa story everyone knows.

This is the story of what happens next.

For Fans HeroineGods & GoddessesMonsters As HeroesCorporate VillainsFeral Protective MMCFemale RageForced ProximityReluctant Allies to Lovers
The gods have gone corporate. They've traded Mount Olympus for the board room, worship for market share, and devotees for subscribers. Now, they are inches away from Dominion, securing their power and influence over humanity forever--whether we want it or not. There's precious little time to stop them...and only one "person" who can.

A fugitive from the Underworld, Medusa has survived for centuries by staying off the grid and out of sight from both mortal and celestial eyes, with only the voices in her headsnakes for company. But one can't outrun their destiny forever. So, when Destiny appears at a truck stop on the outskirts of Eau Claire with a divine directive, Medusa has no choice but to accept it and everything it entails--including seeking help from the Horned Prince of Crete and Keeper of Lost Things (aka, the Minotaur) to track down an ancient weapon that will lay waste to the Olympic Pantheon.

But the gods have changed with the times as well. Hermes has the social influencing game locked down. Athena controls every part of civic life from public transit to police. And as for Poseidon...

Well, he hasn't changed a bit.

When the gods go bad, can a monster save the world? Find out in this scathingly satirical modern epic for fans of American Gods, The Iron Druid Chronicles, and Percy Jackson (but for adults).

I have enjoyed other books by the author and Snakes & Stones was no different. From the very first page the author's writing drew me in and I kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. The story was well written, had good pacing and was so action packed that sometimes I forgot that I was reading. Plus there was a great cast of characters. I can't recommend the novel enough and I look forward to reading more by them.
💝 Thank you to the author, S.G Tasz for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen for the ARC of this book!
This was a very interesting take on Greek Mythology and the Gods/Goddesses. I struggled a little bit because at first I wasnt aware Medusa could telepathically communicate with the snakes on her heas (shouldve seen that coming!). And then the dialogue sometimes got confusing on who was talking and I had to backtrack a couple times.

The roots of Greek mythology blends really well in the modern world, but at the same time, with the switching POVs, it did get a little confusing for me as well as the scenes with Destiny and sometimes her sisters. Some of the encounters with Destiny are italisized and then it suddenly switches to normal. That might just be a "me" thing.

And Medusa's encounter with a civilian and then the student? That whole scene confused me a lot and left me with questions.... also didn't seem to fit in well with the story.... it felt like filler to lead up to a soon to be spicy scene.

I think Aster and Medusa do have chemistry, but did I think it was portrayed correctly? Not particularly. I enjoyed their spicy time, but it also felt....almost a little awkward leading up to it when he was "tending to her wounds".

Aside from me just being confused sometimes, I enjoyed the ride and getting to know the characters. Medusa is a badass and not afraid of danger. And I absolutely love her snakes! Ari and Pippa made me giggle with their banter and smartass remarks!

Perseus is also back to kill Medusa per Athena and I really, really wanna know who Tony is. Athena's uncle....is he Poseidon?? I need to know!

I will admit that I was hesitant about reading this even though I love this author. I am so over romantasy, and one of the reasons is it usually takes place in a past-like setting of which I’m usually not a fan. However, I always take a chance when I love an author. I’m so glad I did. Not only does it take place in the present, but it also still has the feel for a romantasy. I’m really ok with that. We meet Meda, AKA Medusa, who is trying to stay under the radar of those from her past, the other Greek gods. This is an interesting take on the Greek gods, and I loved every minute of this book because especially because of its originality. There were a couple of surprises, very interesting characters (I’ve never seen the gods like this), a unique way on gathering “power,” and such a fun way to while away a day. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a fun and unique take on Greek mythology, reimagining the Olympians as modern day rulers controlling the world through commerce, media, and public perception.

Even though we know her as a monster, Medusa was such a good character. Her relationship with her snakes added humour to the story. The banter was one of the highlights for me and is something I have enjoyed in every book I’ve read by S. G. Tasz.

And Aster. I wasn’t expecting to fancy the Minotaur but stranger things have happened. I liked his naivety at the modern world and his unwavering protectiveness towards Medusa.

Once again, thank you to the author for an ARC!

I honestly really did like this book and the story is an amazing one that I feel like with a bit more focus could be totally put together. The constant switching and alternate names of the gods was a little frustrating, especially when they were talking amongst themselves. I get the need for it but it makes this much harder to follow. The story and relationship between Aster and Meda is really cute and the fact that alternate characters are introduced as well make this a really intriguing read. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this modern take of the olympians. How they have adapted (or not) to modern society. I especially liked Medusas story and how she uses her “power.” I feel like book 2 will have more action than the first with the cliffhanger it ended on. I cannot wait for it.
