With Teeth: A Dark Mafia Romance

Rate this book
She ran. Not away from The Dark—but straight back into it.

Haya Yaisien is alone, bleeding, and trapped in a car with the one person she never wanted near her again. When she finally breaks free, there's only one place left to go. One person left to run to.

I am done being quiet. Done being small. Done letting the people who broke me decide how this ends.

Andreas Barros will burn down everything his family built to get her back. But The Dark doesn't forgive disloyalty, and the Naess empire is crumbling under the weight of its own betrayals. Father is losing control. Alliances are fracturing. And the enemies circling aren't just outside the family—they're sitting at the dinner table.

There is no limit to what I'll do to get Haya back. There never was. And she has no idea how far I'm willing to go for her next.

Haya spent years learning how to disappear. Now she has to learn how to fight—not just for Andreas, but for herself. And Andreas has to decide what he's willing to sacrifice for a woman The Dark will never let him keep.

Some monsters wear familiar faces. And the only way out is through every single one of them.

With Teeth is the conclusion of the Once More Duet. This duet ends with a happily ever after.

Rose Kolo writes dark, high-heat romance where obsession, control, and dangerous loyalty collide. Her stories explore morally gray characters, tangled histories, and the kind of love that refuses to stay buried.

Her books are set in the shadowed world of crime families, where loyalty can be as lethal as betrayal and passion often comes with a cost.

Rose is the author of Once More, the first book in the Once More Duet and part of The Dark Series I.

When she isn’t writing, she’s usually listening to the same song on repeat and finding other innovative ways to drive her husband crazy. 😈

She is currently working on the next book in The Dark Series, With Teeth, releasing May 2026.

This book follows on from where Once More finished. Haya needs to get back to Andreas. But trapped in a car with his brother the man who actually enjoyed inflicting pain and embarrassing her anyway he could. She knows if PTF gets her she'll loose everything. Andreas has to find her, she's his lifeline, without her he's not complete. Now with Roman he's hoping that they'll save her from an existence that's worse than death. Being in The Dark they'd grown up knowing pain, loss and survival. But he knows she's been through enough. OK since his release from prison he'd tried to repair some damage. But he knows it's not enough. Neither of them have actually fully given trust to each other. But to survive what's coming that's a must, but trust comes with belief of safety and truth. The fight they have coming is going to take everything they've got. But who is friend or foe. Can the Dark be defeated. Will PTF achieve an alliance. Or is that truly what he wants. Are they going to actually find a safe place to live. Or will it end with their own demise. This is a perfect conclusion to the first book. Another book that just keeps to reading. I really look forward to reading more of this authors books

This was so intense. It doesn’t waste any time getting right down to it from the start. I was immediately pulled in. Haya, needing to get out of that car. Needing to find Andrea. The twists and turns and the tension was eating at me. I needed to know and I needed to know now. The way this keeps you invested in turning the pages was great. I was totally obsessed with this one.

The story picks up with everything already intense and just… escalates. You have to read the first book before this one because it sets the scene and lays the foundation for this one. He is in that “nothing matters except getting her back” mindset, and it drives a lot of the plot, and the choices he’s willing to make, it never really slows down.

What stands out is how messy and consuming the relationship feels. It’s not soft or easy, there’s a lot of control, desperation, and blurred lines between love and possession. But at the same time, you do see glimpses of vulnerability underneath all that intensity, which makes it more than just surface-level angst.

She isn’t just there for the ride either, she’s dealing with her own trauma and trying to hold onto some sense of control while everything around her spirals. Their dynamic ends up being this mix of push-pull, fear, need, and loyalty, which keeps things emotionally charged the whole way through.

It’s definitely fast-paced and high drama, , but the real focus is how far these characters will go for each other, and whether that kind of love is saving them or destroying them. This one has so much going on. It is a mafia style romance, but it's own kind with it's own organization, rules and dynamics which can get confusing at times. The core of the story is that they were raised together in a found/assembled family dynamic that really pitted everyone against each other. But despite that they always felt a pull towards each other and after he sacrificed for his brother and family, he isn't wiling to step aside any more. He is going to claim his future including her. She has been used and abused by pretty much everyone, and as much as she loves him, she is also terrified and fights hard to make the right choices despite her fears. It is horrible and beautiful.

'With Teeth is book two of the Once More duet and picks up directly where Once More leaves off. It is not a standalone.'

The characters were very complex and compelling and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building continues to excel and impress. All in all a satisfying conclusion to the duet. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend both books!

Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy the read!.

Haya’s story continues with even more tension, emotion, and darkness. The stakes are higher, the relationships are complicated, and the character growth kept me invested. A gripping continuation that pulled me in from beginning to end.

A well written sequel to the first book in this duet, this story also contains the drama and suspense that made the first book so memorable and compelling. The intensity was palpable. The drama fascinating. The characters mesmerizing in their movements, actions and deeds. Great storytelling.

I enjoyed this better than book one. Andreas and Haya allowed their love for each other to grow but also grew individually. Everybody that crossed then got what they deserved. I’m glad they got their HEA.
