***Inspired by true events***

Where do you turn when the ones who are supposed to love you most, hurt you?

When is enough, enough?

That is the exact question Chloe Evans had when she escaped her own personal hell that terrifying night. Even though the road to rebuilding her life has been tough, she's spent the last few years trying to mend her battered soul. Doubting that all her efforts are even worth it, she begins to feel she will forever be tied to the man who took everything away from her.

Ryder Matthews is the epitome of what most girls associate with perfection. With his good looks, bad boy persona, multiple tattoos and piercings he is every girl’s fantasy; every girl except Chloe Evans that is. Ryder sees Chloe as a challenge...one that he's more than confident he will win.

Drew Nichols is every girls dream guy. He’s sweet, sincere, trusting, and most of all patient. He’s exactly what Chloe needs in her life, but is he who she wants?

We all have things in life we'd like to forget about. Some bigger than others. When Chloe uses college as her diversion to escape the memories, will either of them be able to make her forget?

This book contains mature subject matter that is not suitable for those under the age of 18.

amazing must read standalone

I loved this book!! Once I started it I couldn't stop! 4.5 Stars!!

"I'm tired of doing things that are comfortable and safe. I want dangerous and unpredictable."

It's a rare find to discover a love triangle that is written so well that you don't know who to root for. I think a lot of this had to do with having Chloe, Drew & Ryder's povs.It really helped me as a reader get inside the story & see the struggle from each characters perspective.

"I saw you first. I caught you first. I knew I wanted you that day. If I'm being honest I'm relieved. I want you like I've never wanted anything in my entire life."

It was amazing from beginning to end with a great flow of story throughout. I loved the ending it was perfect. Great job Brandy Lynn your debut was a home run for me ❤️

This was a good story but was just lacking in some areas for me. I felt like sometimes things were "skimmed" and then others went on too much. I love the premise of the book and enjoyed the idea of it…just something didn't fully "connect" for me.

5 'must-read' STARS!!!

Any book that is inspired by true events should be read. Now I know some things can be dashed into the recipe to fill in gaps with angst or some other such emotion, but all in all - someone lived those pages. Spoke those words. Felt those feelings. Dwelled upon those decisions. The circumstances caused someone to write it all down so that it can be enjoyed by anyone else. And Make Me Forget was thoroughly enjoyed by me!

"They have no idea what I'm like inside... dark, desolate, isolated, empty, used, and dirty."

This book really did have it all. Tortured characters, a love triangle, super secondary characters, and ALL the feels you can imagine! I was taken on this journey - catapulted into this book. Even though I did, it was very difficult to put it down - who else was going to let the dog out and make my kids' lunches for school? There is so much to this book so I'm just going to skim the top.

I'm simply in awe of Chloe Evans. She was undeniably strong and resilient. But Chloe had an unimaginable tragedy tear her family apart. She saw herself as anything but unwavering. As are all college students, Chloe was a work-in-progress. She set goals and having a boyfriend did not make the list. She's ready to move on and not look back. Seriously inspiring!

"I am no longer going to allow what happened define me. It's not who I am. It's not who I want to be."

In addition to Chloe's terrifically written character we have, not one, but two possible love interests! Now I'm not going to throw out any spoilers - so I'm not mentioning names. But wow! They were best-friends and totally opposite.

"How in the world am I going to keep my thoughts and feelings at bay when it is obvious my best friend is already developing feelings for the only girl who's ever made my pulse hum?"

One 'bad-boy' with tattoos who was arrogant and confident. And one 'pretty-boy' with a sweet, sexy voice. The guys are great to read. Each one having their idiosyncrasies and pros and cons. But who is best for Chloe? Or is there a best?

"He pushes my boundaries; encouraging me to do spontaneous things. He makes my heart pound out of control whenever he's near, sends my pulse racing. I've never met anyone like him"

There are many bumps in the book. And although I wanted to throw my kindle and could be seen screaming at the characters, each bump pulled me that much further. Giving me an unrelenting need to get the answers that, eventually, left me satisfied. One of the best parts of this book is that it's written in triple POV. Chloe and guys have their own voice at different times. It's a feat to get inside a man's mind so I particularly love when authors do that! Another thing I adore authors for - an epilogue! Yes, there's an epilogue. And yes, we get a HEA! :) Round of applause to Brandy Lynn whose debut Make Me Forget was amazing!

I was given a arc in exchange for my honest review.

This is Brandy's first book and I have been waiting YEARS for this. So, the hype is HUGE. Brandy's highly anticipated story is now here. And she did not disappoint. It was highly enjoyable and very beautiful. With Brandy you didnt get many things I have seen by new authors. She surprised me and blew me away. Amazing first story! I could not be more proud of her. We meet Chloe, a girl who was broken by her step-father in ways no child or person should have to go through. We fast-forward to the present day where she is heading off to college. She meets and makes new friends and even has some love interests. We meet Drew, who I fell in love with from the start. And we meet Ryder. The " bad boy" I enjoyed him, but was NOT fond of him. I was routing the entire time for Drew, and then I wasnt haha. Ryder captured my heart and I was conflicted who I felt was truly right for Chloe. This girl was broken and deserved nothing but the best. It took her some figuring out, but she finally reaches a conclusion. And I will leave it at that :-) ;-) you will have to read to find out who she chooses. And how her story ends and she overcomes the obstacles she has faced. A beautiful and touching story you will NOT want to miss out on. There are times you get frustrated with the characters, but be patient. Everything turns out how it should. As does any love triangle :-)

The story has laughs, pain, secrets, abuse and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story.

Chloe is making friends in town after a horrible past. She wonders if she will ever have a normal relationship with a man. She meets 2 men her first day at college. One is a good boy and one a bad boy. Ryder is the man she bumps into on the way to the dorm. Ryder is a bad boy. Drew is sweet and helps her carry her boxes and his sister is her roommate. She starts dating Drew but what happens when she has feelings for Ryder also? Which one will she choose. Will they both be okay with her choice?

I felt like the ending of the story was rushed. I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a good read.

I recommend this book.

Let me start by saying I Loved this book!! The love triangle between Chloe, Drew & Ryder is wonderfully written. I adored Drew & thought he was the sweetest man. He was so patient & caring with Chloe. He's the kind of man most woman wish for. However, the chemistry between Chloe & Ryder was instant. Even though Ryder is a bad boy he seems to really want to be better for Chloe. When she confides her secret in Ryder you can see the shift in their relationship. As much as I adored Drew I was rooting for Ryder. Nothing better than watching the bad boy fall in love & become a better man. I could read this book again in the future!

Every once in a while, I read a book that I can't put down...even if it pushes some of my buttons.
In Make Me Forget we meet Chloe Evans, a young woman who has suffered unspeakable acts at the hands of someone who is supposed to protect her. She has spent several years trying to heal and move on from her tragic youth. Chloe is beginning a new chapter in her life; not only is she leaving for college but she's just turned eighteen and is no longer a ward of the state.
Shortly after arriving at school she meets the two men who, along with her new roommate and bestie, help her come out of her shell. Chloe has an instant attraction to both Ryder and Drew, who just so happen to be band mates and best friends. These two men seem very different on the outside; Ryder, the typical bad boy womanizer and Drew, the sweet good guy. As we learn more about them we see how wonderful they are but which one will steal Chloe's heart?
I was really surprised to see that this book was inspired by true events and that this is Brandy Lynn's debut novel! She created deep characters, engaging dialogue, and a plot that keeps you turning pages.
I loved the chemistry between the characters. It was as though I felt the excitement that Chloe was experiencing. I had butterflies as she was learning more about these men and opening up.
Brandy Lynn also created wonderful side characters. I loved Chloe's foster mother, Melody, and their relationship. You can't forget about the rest of the band and Alexis (Chloe's roommate and best friend). I could totally see this being made into a series with a focus on each character.
My only problem with this book was that I felt there were a couple events/situations that were just added for the drama. They didn't really add anything to the story for me and seemed unnecessary. Now I know this is inspired by true events so perhaps that's why they were included. I know many people would disagree and say "the angstier the better" but I'm not one of those people, everyone is different.
Make Me Forget is a book that I had a difficult time "rating". I really enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written and engaging. I would like to give it 4 stars but, as I stated above, some of the situations and the characters reactions to the situations bothered me. I'm not going to go into detail because I don't want to spoil anything but they did take away from my personal enjoyment of the story. So with that being said, I gave Make Me Forget a 3.5 out of 5. To me, anything 3 and above is a book that I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend. I'm looking forward to seeing what Brandy Lynn has in store for us next!!

Based on a true story, Brandy Lynn's debut novel, Make Me Forget, is an emotionally touching story that will have readers captivated from the very beginning of the book.

We are introduced to Chloe Evans as she is suffering from abuse that no child should ever have to go through. This opens a world for Chloe that she never wished to be a part of Guarded, hurt, and heartbroken, Chloe begins to pick up the pieces of her life on her 18th birthday. The day that she is no longer required to be taken care of by her foster mom who has loved, and cared for her for so many years. An emotional parting happens between the two, and she jets off to Radford College where she hopes to become a new person, and really focus on herself.

What she doesn't expect is the crazy triangle that occurs between herself, sweet Drew, and well-known bad boy, Ryder. We are first introduced to Drew as he is helping Chloe, and Alexis unpack their dorm room. Drew comes off as being nice, sweet, and understanding as he jokes with the girls, and helps them make themselves at home. Ryder comes into the picture like a whirlwind, and seems to just have a not so great influence on anybody.

Who does Chloe choose to steal her heart, and help her on her path to growing into a better person, and forgetting her past? That's one thing that I won't let out - it's a surprise, and it is a great one at that! I loved the chemistry between the characters. They were all really well written into Make Me Forget, and seemed to really get along throughout the novel. This was an emotional read, and I will be recommending it to friends.

I felt like Make Me Forget had a few situations that were unclear or unanswered. There were a few times that I also felt like things were being rushed in the book, and again, I can understand why, but it just left the whole unanswered questions thing there. I am terribly sorry that that was based off of a true story. That being said, it was written spectacularly well, and will leave readers wanting to continue reading Make Me Forget.

I liked this book. It was sweet, sexy, sad, funny, and had some good twists along the way. This book is about one girl trying to find her place in life after living through tragedy. I wanted to know this story and see how it unfolded.

This is Chloe's story. Chloe's past is hard but she is setting out for a brighter future. Going to college is going to change her life forever. When she meets not one guy but two on her first day at college, she doesn't know at the time that one (or both) of them is going to changer her life forever. Ryder is the bad boy. Every girl wants him. Every mom warns her daughter about him. But the bad boy is irresistible and with someone with such a damaged past like Chloe, Ryder is not he safest choice. In walks Drew who is epitome of what every girl should want in a man. He is sweet, kind and reliable. But our heart wants what our heart wants. And as Chloe struggles to make a decision, she also is trying to figure out her life and makes choices. Who will she choose? Will she be able to break down the walls around her heart to let someone in?

I liked Chloe and was rooting for her to find a happy ending. She had been through so much so she really deserved it. I also felt for her trying to choose between these two men BUT I could see who her choice was all along. I was so glad she did at the end and I was happy with her choice. I would have like to ending to have not been as rushed as it was. I would have liked to see some serious talking, making up and maybe some groveling with a kick in the nuts or two. (:

I recommend this book.

When Chloe was younger, she was abused. She has tried to put her life back together the best way she knew how. Now she’s 18 and off to college. Off to see the world, where she meets Drew and Ryder.

Now I’m not going to lie and I think it’s mainly because of the books I do read, I thought this would be a ménage, had to look at the reviews to see that my dreams were dashed.

Both Drew and Ryder want Chloe, but the rub is their best friends. She starts to date Drew, but things get a little complicated when after being just friends, Chloe starts to like Ryder as more than a friend.

Now the big questions is who will she choose? I know, do you?

I really enjoyed Make Me Forget. It’s tells the story of a girl who was hurt badly, but didn’t let it stop her from finding love and she has two hunks to chose from. I would be in heaven. Like I said great read and it felt believable, now what surprised me was closer to the ending. I hate when the women is being a female dog for no reason.

Mainly, if you keep a huge secret from him and then you break up with him, you do not, I repeat do not have the right to make him feel bad because he moved on. That really pissed me off.

Other than that, excellent read!

I received a copy of this book from Enticing Journey Book Promotions in exchange for an honest review and as part of the book's blog tour promotions. The thing with new adult romances is that it's usually difficult to believe the main character's life experiences. Also, it's either the conflicts were written to be too melodramatic and trying hard to give twisted characters when the truth is that they really just lack the experience to feel certain things.
This book, however, has none of those. The heroine has been through really hard times. However, she was able to move past everything and trust in love. The hero was a very likeable character who had his own shortcomings but any reader will easily forgive him for those.

I wasn't very into the love triangle. From the start, the chemistry between the hero and the heroine was already very apparent. The new adult genre is not necessarily my favorite, but I'm glad I got to read this book because the author did a great job of creating characters who've had difficult lives but still sounded young and still had so much of their lives ahead of them. I also liked the way the book ended. I won't talk about the ending except only to say that it ended and got resolved the way that I wanted.

I truly enjoyed reading Chloe's story. To have been dragged through a rough road in life, she keeps her walls guarded, remaining very strong and independent. That alone gave me great admiration for her, because courage isn't always so easily found through abuse. So what do you do when you literally fall into the arms of your very own Prince Charming? He's sexy and that magnetic draw is present. But everyone warns-stay away from the Bad boy! So Chloe listens, keeping her heart guarded, protected in her steel barrier. She allows Drew to capture her heart, but only momentarily. The draw to Ryder is just too strong and undeniable. When push comes to shove, who does Chloe allow to capture her heart, making her forget the past she wishes to put behind her.

Make Me Forget is a great debut novel. I won't go into all of the twists and turns of the stories, that's up to you to read. The characters are very well developed, all likable in their own ways. Aside from Miranda...she's a ragin' bitch that needs throat punched. Brandy does an amazing job keeping the reader pulled into the story. She has a bright future ahead of her.

An ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely loved this book! I always enjoy a good love triangle, and this one is written beautifully. Chloe Evans has a traumatic past, and goes off to college in hopes of beginning a future with a new start. It's there she meets Ryder Matthews and Drew Nichols, two best friends in a band together. Chloe begins to have feelings for both of them, and so the love triangle begins.

I loved Ryder and Drew!!! Brandy Lynn did a fantastic job on making me fall in love with both characters! Drew is a definite sweetheart and Ryder is a bad boy but you can just tell he truly cares for Chloe. I couldn't imagine being in Chole's shoes and having to pick one! Although, I do have to say I was rooting for Ryder! Something about the bad boy with tattoos gets me every time!

If you enjoy a book with a good love triangle, then you should definitely check this one out! I would even go as far to say as it's one of the best love triangle books I've ever read! Brandy Lynn is an author I will be stalking for new books to come! 5+++ stars!

This book hit home for me as I know the feeling what Chloe was going through when she was younger. I found the book to be very accurate with the feelings and emotions of a victim.

Chloe has been a victim for so long, but she finally felt she was doing something for herself at last by going to college and studying for something she's passionate about. What she didn't plan on falling in love or for her feelings for two guys.
Ryder is the bad guy we all love to hate. After bumping into Chloe on her 1st day he knew that she was the one for him and he couldn't stay away from her, no matter that she was his best friend's girl. Chloe struggles with who to chose, and faces the heartbreak even after choosing.

I enjoyed this story and I loved the characters :)
We meet Chloe who is starting college and leaving her home town for a fresh start.
Ryder is enjoying college life, and doesn't seem to be interested in dating anyone when girls give it up for free.
Drew is a sweetheart and Ryder's friend, and he is ready for a relationship.

Chloe has a terrible past which keeps her at arms length but Drew manages to break through a little of Chloe's defences :) but Ryder is where her feelings lie.
Brilliant story, wonderfully told, tho I do feel that towards the ending the book feels rushed.

I bought this book awhile back at a book signing and decided to finally read it! I love the cover and thought the story line and characters were pretty great. Chloe did get on my nerves ALOT though. And after she got with Ryder the book sorta turned kinda corny for me. Wasn't that bad of a read!

Romance
College

There are times when starting over means having to find yourself; how do you fit two men in your search?

(Amazon blurb)

Based on true events - take a moment to really let that sink in because Brandy Lynn shows readers the reality of how the past influences the present and the future. It can be ugly. It can be scared. Or it could be silent. Chloe Evans thought she was all of these and simply wanted to fade away and stay where she felt the most love, but college was her chance to lose her past and redefine herself. She's not looking for love or men but comes face to face with two of them who are complete opposites, and what kind of woman (us readers) has ever dreamt of ever wanting to bed the bad boy and bring home to introduce to the parents the good guy!? Heartbreak, anger and shock boils inside after realizing why Chloe runs away from her past, and yet, you can't help yourself but feel hopeful that maybe she has a chance of finding herself simply by the fact that she's taken a big step by trusting a new friend. Of any and all of non-fiction novels I have ever read, Brandy Lynn has taken it to the next level - she's made it emotionally attractive, interesting, captivating and especially, a story that readers cannot forget and will be talking about for years to come.

This was a really good book. Chloe Evans has just turned 18 years old and she's off to college in Virginia at a college in a small town. On her first day there she meets both Ryder Matthews and Drew Nichols.

Chloe has lived a pretty traumatic life. She had to learn at such a young age the atrocities that can happen to people. She once had a loving mother and father. Sadly enough her father was killed when she was really young. Her mother ended up getting remarried to a man that fed her drugs and got her hooked and she stopped being a caring and loving mother. Also, her stepfather molested her so many times and threatened to kill her mother if she didn't comply. Finally Chloe couldn't take anymore and sought out her school counselor but they found her mother dead but luckily her stepfather is in prison. She was placed in foster care but she lucked out and got a wonderful foster mother in Melody. She lived with her for four years and she was able to start healing. She still feels broken and feels she is ruined. She hasn't really had any interest in dating but luckily she has interest in both Drew and Ryder.

Ryder is the lead singer in the band Twisted Souls that is very popular around their college. He's a big time player and doesn't date. He feels pulled toward Chloe and wants her. He doesn't know if he will be good enough or deserves her. Drew is his best friend and he doesn't want to ruin his friendship or ruin their band. Ryder has a younger brother Braden who is also in the band and Ryder has pretty much helped raise him for many years because their parents are both dead. They didn't really have a happy childhood. Their father was abusive and horrible to them. He died but sadly enough their mother died not far after him from a Brain Aneurysm. He's a good guy when he's given the chance to prove it.

Drew is a really great guy. He's had one girlfriend and she broke his heart. He planned to marry her right before they started college but she ended things with him and broke his heart. He's attracted to Chloe and wants to get to know her. She is roommates with his cousin Alexis.

Definitely worth reading.

This book is a standalone.
This book is a love triangle. Also there are very few graphic flashbacks, in italics that can be skipped over.
Chloe has just turned 18 and is moving off to college for the steps in her life.
There is Drew who is 20, he's in a the local band, and also attends the same college as Chloe. It also happens his cousin Alexis is roommates with you guessed it, Chloe.
Then, last but not least we have Ryder. He's also in the band and Drew's roommate.

That's how this small circle starts.

To be totally honest, the last 25% is what saved the rating on this book. Just as it started to flow, it was over.
It just felt weird. There was no real connection with any of the characters. Drew and Chloe almost felt like a brother sister relationship, trying to push for more.
The writing also didn't flow well. Some parts just dragged on, and others had me shaking my head and laughing out of place.
It also felt like Chloe kinda used her past as a crutch, an excuse for situations she didn't want to deal with.

When the characters would switch the POV, it seemed more on the guys that the contractions were cut out. It made them sound more like robots than humans.

With the editing, if you're going to use a very popular band, it would help to use the right title to the song you have mentioned.
There was also over use of many of the same words clumped together. Things just didn't flow well.
Over all the story was there, just didn't feel any connection to it.
I think with some adjustments on the first half, this could definitely be a 5* read.
I wish the author the best of luck in her writing journey.
