This book started out good, quickly shifted into intriguing, and ended with a fantastic flourish. I particularly enjoyed the skillful blending of Eastern and Egyptian mythologies, as well as the riveting action sequences. This was not an easy book to put down and my plan of a few chapters per day was quickly abandoned in favor of gorging on large quantities. If you enjoy mysteries or mythology this is a series you will enjoy.

The devil's daughter(Kelsey) has outlasted and outwitted gods on several planes of existence while conquering foes of similarly dubious intent on what the rest of us call Earth. A strong, yet vulnerable heroine, Kelsey is left at the end of this tale staring at the beginning of another mystery. I am looking forward to reading how she proceeds from this latest precipice.

I was so excited to read this book, I read the first book in the Kelsey Porter Series - The Hunt for Xanadu, and was intrigued to see where Kelsey would go, and what she would do next.

This book didn't disappoint, it started with intrigue and it took me on a fast paced journey to Egypt and into mystical realms that made for a great story. It was nice that the reader was linked back to the first book, and that we learned more about Kelsey's life and about Desmond her boyfriend.

The book ended on a cliffhanger (but I have no problem with that), and I know there is more to come and can't wait to read what Elyse Salpeter has in store for her readers next. If the first books are anything to go by it will be exciting, intriguing fast paced and utterly brilliant.
