Why aren't more people reading George Dreme thrillers? I love all the books in the series. Jay Stuck is a very good storyteller and I do hope he continues to write.
Note: I received a copy of this book from StoryCartel in exchange for a review. My review originally appeared on Devin's Book Hub.
Perhaps the sight of a blood-spattered naked man wearing only his tighty whities is commonplace at the World Congress Center but I couldn’t be certain, so I decided to keep them on.
Meet George Dreme. He's a hitman and also a hypochondriac. If that's not funny, then I don't know what is. Bad Dreme begins with George trying to kill Vinish Teanik, the CEO of Intra-border Security Solutions. The job could've been cleaner, but at least he gets it done. He's good at what he does, as he's been doing it for over a decade. Shortly after his job eliminating Vinish, his boss, Little Tyke, calls him and assigns him his next hit. This time it's for Jerry Kramer, the president of the Kramer, Burns advertising agency in Los Angeles. He has 10 days to do it. Sounds simple enough, right? Not exactly. Dreme runs into numerous complications, strange people, and even finds himself in a car chase. And why is Kramer's partner Hal Burns such a ghost? What secrets are behind the doors of Kramer, Burns? It's up to George to find out what's going on and finish his job done before time runs out.
For being a first novel, I thought it was well written. Only a few minor typos, the plot was interesting, and best of all, I really loved the humor in the book. Dreme made a lot of witty remarks throughout his story and the fact that he was overly concerned about his health made it all the more funny. I felt the ending was just a pinch too quick, but it's not like there's a gap in the story missing as a result, so all is fine. The characters, especially the weird ones Dreme encounters, are definitely.... interesting. I wasn't planning on there being much of a mystery when going into this book but was pleased by both the mystery and plot twists Bad Dreme offers.
Bad Dreme is the first of multiple George Dreme thrillers, with the next one, Fever Dreme, coming out in Spring 2015.
George Dreme (professional assassin, aka Mr. Highland, Richard Casinnea, CIA, Sheldon Weiss) & his 3 cats: Little Tyke, Cain, & Abel, live in the Washington Township. George’s target was Dominic O'Mara (wealthy, O'Mara Construction LLC., killed, traitor, sold secrets to Chinese Military Intelligence, PLA). Mission accomplished.
His next hit was Lionel Rempson (founder/CEO, Rempson Motors). George by accident met FBI Agent Jennifer Copanski (aka Gail). Robert Uland (Director of Counterintelligence) called Lionel. Janet Moran (Jennifer) & Willy Deavers (George) went to meet with Lionel at Rempson Motors.

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A fairly well paranormal written book. It wasn’t very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish, but never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great paranormal movie, animated cartoon, or mini TV series. Started out with a bang, great potential & then made no sense. That said I will rate it at 3/5 stars.

This is a review of the book Fever Dreme by J R Stuck. I wish to make it clear that I did not purchase this book, but was given a review copy free by Story Cartel. Other than the undertaking to read and review this book in exchange for getting it free, I do not have any arrangement whatsoever with the author, the publishers or any other entity involved in any way with the book. The book is about a professional hit man who is used by an intelligence agency to get rid of “undesirables.” The action moves fast, the language is adequate, without being catchy (may be the subject matter is such that it does not permit imaginative writing) and the book is short, a quick read. There are no surprises in the book, and that is where it leaves you with a sense of mission unaccomplished. It is not very difficult to predict the ending while you are two-thirds of the way through the book.
I received a free kindle copy of Bad Dreme by Jay R. Stuck in a goodreads promotion in exchange for a fair review.
I gave it five stars. This was a fast, fun read.
This book is written from the point of view of a hypochrondriac assassin. He's good at his job, never misses a target & he's funny. His snarky comments & asides are very entertaining.
"So Kramer, Burns was into deceptive advertising for political candidates. Beyond deceptive—manipulative and subliminal s**t."
At last he is successful. Like the Canadian Mounties, he always gets his man.
Good intense read. Think most political thriller/assassin for hire are to contrived? Meet Dreme and you come to understand that this is a messy unappealing business that requires preparation and a lot of work. Hypochondriac killer for hire!
This was a great book that had me on the edge of my seat! The car chase made me bite my nails with anticipation. George Dreme is a hit man like no other. I would recommend this to all who are looking for a fast paced adventure. And I can't wait to start reading the sequel Fever Dreme!
