For readers who love the spicy vampire erotica Blood Stone series, here is the final chapter in the story of Nial and Sebastian.

The world is reeling, recovering from the global conflict of World War II.  Sebastian comes home to Nial and peace, only to find that Nial is up to his old schemes and manipulations.

Over the next twenty years, they live, love and try to figure out how to merge an endless life with human demands.  In the late 1960s when Vietnam protesting is at its peak, Sebastian’s need to be human and Nial’s outsider’s perspective clash…and the clash is fatal.

A short story filled with love and regret…and endings.

WARNING: This paranormal erotica features two hot, sexy alpha heroes.  There is explicit and frank sexual language and heart-stopping sexual scenes between the aforementioned sexy heroes. Don't proceed beyond this point if hot love scenes offend you.
No vampires were harmed in the making of this story.

A very short glimpse into the problems that Nial and Sebastian had through the 1900s. This really detailed the reason they were separated at the beginning of Blood Knot. Now, I loved Blood Knot. Now this book was very angsty and provided little in the way of romance or passion as a payoff - it was such a heartbreaking little tale. But I was prepared to like it because it really provided the detail and background of Nial and Sebastian and why they weren't together. In fact, I was actually so distraught that I rushed to re-read Blood Knot to assure myself that they got their HEA (and to see how this information was tied in). And I was so disappointed because now having read this angst, in my mind it had to be resolved. Unfortunately, because this book was written after Blood Knot, this background is not taken into account in that story and thus, it isn't really resolved. In Blood Knot, Nial and Sebastian sort of get back together without ever talking about their problems and now having read about their problems, I see it as a huge loose end in that book. So I kind of wish I hadn't read this now. That may be the problem of writing more detail after the fact - because the first book doesn't incorporate it and then it feels like the first book is lacking in some way.

I was also pretty disappointed because in this novella, Sebastian is seen having sex with multitudes and having read Blood Knot again, I was reminded that he had lots of sex with others. But Nial remained totally faithful to Sebastian (until Winter of course). And having now read the depth and pain of Nial's loss when Sebastian left, I hated that Sebastian was so willing to throw away Nial's love like that and so easily move on to having sex with hoards of people.

Just like the previous blood drop story, but a smaller glimpse, this story could have done without the warnings. I was expecting a lot more than what I had gotten when it comes to sexy times. I wasn't disappointed to get a peek @ Niles's and Sebastian’s life, but I do like to read about it when they do have them.

It's short, but not at all erotic. No steam at all, actually. Just a few snapshots in time of Sebastian and Nial between 1949 and 1969, mostly of them going their separate ways. Repeatedly. Meh.
