4.25 I want to state I am a friend of the author and her PA, but I am always honest. I also received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was a creepy one about a couple moving into a new house and settling into married life, but things quickly change for the wife where she starts to hear and see things that no one else sees in the house and is waking up from constant nightmares. Everyone starts to think she is going off her rocker and don't believe her but then she finds out her house has a dark past and that she may not be wrong. It was quick and really creepy, and I know Samantha prefers to keep her books small, but I hope someday she takes the chance on a bigger book because I would love to sit with the creepiness longer. I didn't want it to end but did at the same time. Along with how creepy it was it was so frustrating to see everyone dismiss Quinn's feelings, but we all know that's how it goes in horror's no one wants to believe it's anything other than the human imagination. Overall, it was a fun, not my usually type of read but fun nonetheless and I love how the author is reimagining some of the fairytales we had grown up with and gave them a twist.
Holy Moly!!! If you have read Samantha Moran you know she does not believe in HEA. Still, I was holding my breath. Samantha suffered the poor FMC so much and then the last chapter I figured Samantha would allow something, one almost good thing! Never. It is horror Tracy and that is why you read the best author of Horror, Samantha Moran. Nothing, no one gets grace in Samantha’s books. So buckle up buttercup because 🎵 🎶 one two, Sandman’s coming for you, 🎼 🎶 He, he, he! There is a lot of spice in this novella as well. Horror, erotic suspense and a thrilling ending! And please read, reread the content warnings. They are a promise of darkness like you haven’t read before!
First off I’m not a huge horror reader so this was out of my normal range and yet I couldn’t put it down. A twisted retelling style sandman that was creepy and made you question the fmc. That ending though I wasn’t expecting at all!!
Creepy and unexplainable things start happening and Quinn is the only one that seems to notice. Her husband thinks she’s just having nightmares but could it be something sinister?? She looks into her house history and finds the wrist and yet her husband still thinks it’s in her head. The story plays out great and the details are so good and makes you picture everything happening!
A quick spooky read that will leave you wanting more!
If dark and spooky is your thing this is for you. And this? This was right up my alley.
Miles and Quinn are happy newlyweds starting their happy life together in their new house. When Quinn starts to experience weird dreams and see weird things out of the corner of her eyes in the dark... things get spooky.
What did they expect when they bought an old Victorian home? To not be haunted? DUH!
Moody and macabre, this novella is perfect for a dark and stormy night when you want to curl up and just vibe with the darkness as your friend.
🖤 Thank you to Samantha Moran for this eARC in exchange for an honest review. 🖤
I’ve been meaning to pick up Samantha’s books ever since I met them at Sinful Signings a few years ago, so when I saw an ARC opportunity come up, I jumped right on it!
The writing was detailed and immersive, and I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, completely devouring this novella. The spice was deliciously spicy🌶️🥵, and the atmosphere was perfectly spooky.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a short, atmospheric, and hauntingly spooky read.
For me, the most frustrating horror stories to read is one where a woman screams into the void about something being wrong within her home, her body, or a combination of both, and loved ones and professionals around her don't believe it.
Samantha Moran nails that (unfortunate) universal fear many women have experienced in this quick and twisted version of the Sandman folktale. It's gory and jarring, there's an eyeball moment. I freaking loved it... but godspeed.
✨Arc Review✨ What a mind twisting story! I expected to be taken for a ride and this story delivered. The descriptions had my skin crawling and it probably wasn’t the best idea reading this at night 😆. This was a great take on the Sandman. I throughly enjoyed this short horror story and thank you Samantha for the physical arc!
WOW!!!! Samantha Moran NEVER disappoints!!!! This book was such a good read, once I dove in I couldn’t stop!!!! The storyline, the characters, the creature 👀 everything about this book was fantastic!
