The GRUMPY Farmer
So I run from my Vegas nightmare boss by saying ok to a grumpy farmer I've known four days. Somewhere between his silence and his rifle, I fall for him.
I didn't plan to flee north with everything I own in a backpack.
But when my boss hurls a vase at my head, a blue-eyed farmer with a job offer is the only way out. I say the smallest, bravest word of my life. “Ok.”
Michael Martin is blunt, closed off, and not remotely welcoming.
But patiently, he teaches me farming, and running the store.
Then my past finds me, and I learn he's been awake in the barn loft with a rifle for three nights, watching the road.

A nice story with a farmer, the H, and the people who live in the small village near his farm. They are a community that cares for each other. The h is a young woman who fell through the cracks of the social services when her mother was hospitalized. A lady who knew her and her mother used and abused her emotionally. When she wanted the h to work for her selling counterfeit goods the h refused repeatedly. Then one day the H walks into the gift shop she runs and notices how she is afraid of her boss. He comes back and offers her a job to run his farm store. The previous employee left. She says no but he tells her to think about it. The offer includes her own place to live along with a salary. When her boss threatened her she runs away and calls the H asking if he can pick her up sooner than planned and he does. He takes her to his farm where he raises vegetables and fruits and other foods made from what he raised. The food is sold in his small shop. The people who live the area and even farther away come to buy what he has to sell because of the quality of what he sells. The H teaches her about the shop and what he wants her to do but the local people also teach her things that she needs to know. She is willing accepted by the small community. The quality of her life becomes very good. When her old boss comes around trying to talk her into returning she refuses and the H protects her. Then she hears from her mother that she wants to see her, to tell her things that she needs to know. The H takes the h back to see her mother who is in hospice care. They end up bringing her back to the farm where she gets to enjoy it for a while before she dies. The H and h get married with the small community as witnesses. This is an enjoyable story where you can cheer the characters and enjoy the way they treat each other, leaving you with warm feelings. Enjoy.

I released this clean and sweet romance book too early, and have improved it significantly since. Now, I love it the most of all my romantic works, due to its resolved pathos.
It begins with a heroine in near captivity in Vegas. She's alone, grossly underpaid and almost forced into crime, when Caleb arrives and offers her a clean way out. With him, she flees. He teaches her how to work his country store for really good pay, then to help with the crops, then about the seasons of the year. But her past finds her. He spends nights in his loft with his rifle.
She finds the mother who had abandoned her in Vegas, and all is forgiven.
The Grumpy Farmer serves up irresistible chemistry, heartfelt emotion, and a hardworking hero whose tender side is worth waiting for. The romance grows more captivating with every page and blossoms into something truly special. Warm, charming, and impossible to put down.

This is part of The GRUMPY Alpha-Male Series but can be read as a standalone. If you like small town romances, you love this enemies to lovers book. Rowena had a tough young life and was working at a gift shop in a Nevada casino with the boss from h...l The shop had a front room and a shady back room that she refused to work in. Michael is visiting Las Vegas for a convention and observes what a bad situation she's in and he offers her a job on his farm and a place to live. The danger from her old boss and her enforcer follow her to the farm. A sweet, clean romance with a happy ending. Despite the name, I didn't think Michael was grumpy at all. He was very kind, giving and patient. A happy ending with an HEA you'll like. I received a free arc via the author and voluntarily chose to write a review.

He offers Rowena a job so she flees Les Vegas with just a backpack.
Rowena starts to run the farm shop and also learns about farming.
This is a well written slow burn clean sweet story.
