What happens in Reno should stay in Reno. Unfortunately, Red has never learned to keep a secret.
Teresa March and the Team Red detail are off to Nevada to help authorities solve a series of escalating violent crimes. Assault, robbery, rape, and most recently – murder, spreading from Tahoe's rugged lakeside trails to Reno's desert recreation areas. Tensions and altitudes are high.
David remains in Spokane at Marcia's bedside, and Bastian is on the East Coast completing PreClan software installations. Both men worry about Teresa as she and Red close in on the vicious gang cutting a bloody swath of terror through the Sierra Mountains.
T feels that writing is not a calling so much as it is a compulsion. No one is more surprised than she is when characters take over the plot and dialog, (re)directing stories in directions she had not (consciously) intended. Although she starts out each novel with a basic outline, she finds that one or two chapters into the novels, not only have the characters shredded her outline into tiny unidentifiable pieces, they use the resulting confetti in a nose-thumbing parade. She is fully convinced the writer is the tool a story uses to tell its tale.
T. Hammond lives in Washington state, and has been a German shepherd owner for over twenty-five years.
This book was so bittersweet for me...I have followed this series for over two years, when the first book was first published. I got to know each character, both major and minor, and it's hard and exciting to see this series end. Hard, because I loved everything about this series, especially Teresa and her dashing German Shepherd, Red. And exciting because I feel like the characters got their happy ending and I'm so proud of the author for writing such an amazing series that has touched my heart for so many years. I personally think this book was one of the best in this series and readers will be surprised at many things in the book. I'm not giving any spoilers away, but know that there's a lot of fun, suspenseful, and exciting moments in this book! The ending made me cry...it was so heart-felt and beautiful! One of my favorite book endings ever!! Gosh, I'm choking up just thinking about it.
Teresa, Red, and her team Red detail are traveling to Nevada in this book to assist the authorities in solving a series of violent crimes that include: assault, rape, robbery, and murder. If anyone can sniff out some information on this case, it's Red, the amazing German Shepherd that shares a telepathic connection with his owner, Teresa.
Meanwhile, David is staying back home to be by his wife, Marcia's, bedside as she slowly slips away from their world. At the same time Bas is on a mission to complete PreClan software installations, keeping him away from Teresa for the time being. But Teresa is confident in their newfound love and knows everything will be okay, as long as she has him, David, Red and her friends by her side.
I love all the twists I came across in this book. I didn't think anything could surprise me anymore, but the author proved me so wrong! I found myself at the edge of my seat many times reading this book and the scenes with Bas? *Swoon* I wish we could all have a Bas, or that I can keep him all for myself! Hahaha! David, who I was previously mad and disappointed in, got his closure in this book and I'm happy to say that I love his character again! I'm going to miss reading about him and his nerdy ways! And I'm also going to miss Frost, whom I've become very fond of over the books! Love him!
It's so hard to say goodbye to book characters, especially ones that have meant so much to me over the books, but I'm very happy with this last book and the ending. A must read that I highly recommend to readers! If you're new to the series, I highly suggest you read all the books in order to experience that awesomeness that is Team Red!
My favorite quotes:
"If you take fancy clothes, I think you should let me bring my tux," Red insisted. "Nothing says 'classy' like a well-dressed companion dog."
"My thoughts? If it's not broke, don't fix it. Unfortunately, Bas had the engineer's mentality: if it's not broke, take it apart anyway."
"With every touch, and every sigh, and every breath, Babe. I've never felt so loved, or been so happy."
"...I would wake up in the morning and take a deep breath, and my whole day would fall into place, simply because you existed. I will fight for you with my dying breath, because without you, my life is f**kin' empty."
I don't know how I missed getting this book earlier! I have loved this series from book one and this newest installment certainly didn't disappoint. The emotional ride the reader is taken on in this book is both heart wrenching at times and uplifting. Teresa's journey has been awesome to follow, and even though I was rooting for Bas from the start, I was really glad to see how things wrapped up with David in this book. There was great closure to everything they had been through that allowed both characters to move forward. Bas, being my favorite from the start, didn't fall flat when the time came for him to really show what he was made of. I loved the interactions between him and Teresa and the romance aspects was compelling as always. The overall cast is complex and nuanced and keeps readers deeply invested in their lives and stories, including the new additions that popped up in this book. I can't wait to get to know them better! The storyline was well crafted and kept me interested through every page. Reds commentary livened up everything as well! Great job to the author :)
I was given a beta copy of this book for an honest review.
I fell in love with Theresa and Red last fall when I downloaded a free copy of Blind Seduction. What a rollercoaster of a ride. Like most readers and everyone else in the series in the beginning I was Team David because we all thought Bas was a "Bashole". It didn't take long for me to be solidly on Team Bas and every book made me love him more and more.
This book is about love and redemption. Life and death. Family, not only by blood, but the family of your heart. Humor and sarcasm, with lots of snark!
We got to spend more time with Red and his uncanny ability to assist in police investigations, and had a ringside seat as he confused and astounded the idiot and skeptical members of law enforcement. All it takes is a few marshmallows and Red will be your best friend for life!
All the snark and mystery aside for me this book was about love. Bas turned out to be the man every woman dreams she had, he's not afraid to bare his heart to Theresa and in doing so he made me cry more than once.
I loved the ending of the book and I'm devastated that this is the end of the series......or maybe not....I've heard there's going to be a little Frost in the future and I can't wait. I'm not sure how Ms. Hammonds going to get him to talk in full sentences so he can catch a good woman of his own, but I'll take him just the way he is...if she'd just give him my address!
I laughed, I cried and then did it all over again. You're going to want a box of tissues and you might want to not sip your drink while you're reading, I've heard it can be a little messy.
I was given this book to read in turn for an honest review!!!
Team Red is heading to Nevada on their next mission. Whilst sifting through evidence, disaster strikes and the Team have their next life saving mission. Teresa and Red’s life is anything but uneventful!
T Hammond has done it again; bringing us another amazing, captivating, action-packed Team Red book with a lot of love, hot moments and an ever expanding Team Red. I love Teresa’s character; she is as independent and as strong as ever. Bastian and Teresa were made for each other, they each bring out the best in one and other, giving the love and support they both need and deserve. Frost is one my favourite characters, his dry humour and loyalty to Team red is outstanding. You can’t help but love him; he would be my favourite guard too! Without a doubt Teresa is one lucky woman, she is surrounded with hot, loyal and talented military men, how can you not call that heaven? T Hammond does not disappoint with the action and surprises in this book, I truly hope that in the future we see more from Team Red because not only do I feel they have so much more to tell, I also feel I waited so long for Bastian to take Teresa’s heart that when they finally find their way to each other it seems to be over all too quickly. On a side note I want a dog like Red he is awesome!
If you love military romances, with humour, suspense, action, HOT Military Men and a little added paranormal you are going to love the Team Red series by T Hammond!
This series is one of my favorites! I love the laugh out loud dialogue and the characters. And who doesn't love a dog that can communicate with his owner? Truly, book 6 of this series ties up some of the loose sends from the previous stories. You can read it as a standalone, but I think you would really enjoy reading this series in order.
One of the things I enjoy each time I pick up a story in this series, is finding out how my favorite characters are doing - what they've been up to, how relationships are progressing. It is like having a cuppa with them to catch up.
This time Team Red is off to Reno, Nevada. Red and Teresa are able to use their abilities to help solve cold cases. In this particular story however, Red also has the chance to act as a rescue dog when an avalanche hits the ski area. Just call his Super Dog! This story also delves into Bas, Teresa and David starting to mend fences, and David realizing what Marcia was really like. He also comes to terms with Wes, and being there as a real father to him. Of course, I am Team Bas, and I was over the moon that they got married and have a peanut on the way.
I am hopeful that there will be another book in this series. I am looking forward to reading her new series, Posse: Legends, a excerpt was included at the end of this story.
I have read all of the team red books and just loved the entire concept. I read a blurb saying that this book would be the last in the series other than a few novellas, the first one featuring Frost. I truly hope that Ms. Hammond has a change of heart because there could be so many more adventures for team red, especially since little Tank has the ability to mind-speak!!! It would be a real shame to end this series...I vote for more adventures!
I've read this series straight through, and I've got to say, it has left me with a book hangover. Different and interesting is the best way to describe this series. The writing is seemingly casual, but the impact belies this, in that many, many facets are covered and it just keeps the reader enthralled. Loved the series!
This story is full of humor and wonderful characters. Red is portrayed with what could be considered a realistic personality (if you could hear your dog's thoughts). He is hilarious but still a care free canine at heart. I hope from the way this book ended that book #7 will be coming soon.
I honestly didn't want this series to end. Love Teressa with Bas! I really need a story with Tank and Red and The babies. I'm curious how everyone is with the family and work and love lives. I've read these books more than once. I always get lost in the story.... In a good way. Thanks for writing such a story with a lovable dog!!!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Wish there was more in this series but really loved how this series concluded. I really could see so many more stories, thank you T. Hammond for sharing these stories in this series with this reader
4 1/2 stars for Blind Luck!! Readers have been waiting with baited breath for the conclusion of the "Team Red" series with the release of Blind Luck, and T. Hammond did not disappoint! "Team Red" is a 6-book serial and while there is a lot of enjoyment in reading each individual book, lots of the nuances of the story and the characters will be missed if the previous books have not been read.
I found myself laughing from the very first chapter. I love how the men that work for the Mustangs, or for Team Red, do a roll call each time Teresa enters the room, since she can't see them. I laughed when I read, "Fritz here - in body only - my brain is still back in my bunk" as part of the roll call! It was then quickly followed by, "I'm not playing your stupid Marco Polo game ... you can smell the sausage cooking, so you already know I'm here." How much fun it must be to live in Teresa's house!
Blind Luck is dialog intense. The nature of the story lends itself to lots of dialog and it makes for a quick read - not because it's short but because the story flows easily and quickly. The author masterfully writes the dialog and the situational descriptions in between in such a way that I felt like I was sitting in the room with the characters as they chatted!
Red continues to steal the show in Blind Luck. Red demonstrates more empathy and emotional awareness towards "his people" than most humans do. He epitomizes what everyone knows that dogs have, and what they wish for from the people in their life - unconditional love! He's sensitive to Teresa's needs, and demonstrates a great deal of emotional awareness of what Wes is going through with his mother's illness. Red's has a sharp wit and his sense of humor is contagious. Even though Teresa is the only one who can hear Red, his personality is such a strong part of the story and it feels as though all of the guys can hear him.
Bastian and Teresa's relationship continues to grow and mature and I fell in love with Bastian all over again in Blind Luck. He is the definition of alpha male with a wonderfully-endearing sensitive side. He loves Teresa with his whole heart and demonstrates his love for her over and over. He understands and the respects the relationship she has with her security detail, especially Frost, but continues to stake his claim whenever one of them tries to get his hackles up - which they often do in jest. Those interactions just add to the humor of the story. Blind Luck is a romance first and foremost but I think Romantic Comedy is definitely an appropriate moniker for Blind Luck. The author ties up the loose ends that had been left from previous books, she expands Teresa's "family" - those that know about her secrets - and gives us the happily ever after we've been waiting for. The author even redeemed David in the eyes of this reader. While I'm sad to see the end of the Team Red series, the author promises future stories around "The Mustangs" and I look forward to checking in with Teresa, Bastian and the others as we revisit Spokane, Washington in the future!
Disclosure: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I love this series and I loved this book, it is a fitting conclusion (though the author has hinted that we will see some of these characters again in another series or in some novella stories). In theory you could read this book as a stand alone but I highly HIGHLY recommend reading the whole series (it’s excellent you won’t regret it I promise). Book 1 Blind Seduction is free as of this posting. I love all the characters in this series, I love the relationships, I love the interactions all of it. This is one of the most character driven series I have ever read and it is one of my all time favorites, I re-read it quite often.
Team Red is back and ready for action! Bas is supervising PreClan software installation on a secret military base. Red, Theresa and the Team Red Guards are off to Tahoe to help the FBI with a crime spree in both California and Nevada. Ken and Janey’s wedding is coming up. Wes’s birthday (a 10 year old’s party planned by a bunch of military guys is awesome!) There’s plenty going on in this story but it all revolves around the characters, and not just the main couple. The scenes between Theresa and Frost and Theresa and Wes were some of my favorite in the book, though Theresa and her talking pillow (Bas aka Mt. Declan) were pretty good scenes too.
Like I said at the beginning, I love this series and I would like nothing more than to help more people discover it. If you are looking for a story that’s a little different with engaging characters and excellent relationships you should absolutely give Team Red a try I doubt you’ll be disappointed.
The Best Yet!!!!!!, March 16, 2015 THIS BOOK!!!! Oh I am absolutely giddy!! For me, this book was the perfect ending to one of my very favorite series! (Pfffft! I say ending, but we'll see...if we have our way we may see these beloved characters again someday.)Hammond took us on the best roller coaster ride yet, & boy was it worth the tears I shed. Happy tears, sad-gut-wrenching tears, & hysterical laughing tears ... Yep, Masterpiece Achieved! I have raved about this entire series since I first began my #TeamRed journey, but just in case you are new to this particular awesome I will tell you this: Every time I got a glimpse of this story I fell in love just a bit more! I simply could not wait to read more!! I am not talkin' just a character or two. Nope...it's all of them. And now that I am finished I will be dreaming up all of the tales of mini-Bas & mini-Theresa (that I shall continue to beg for) running amuck...growing up...& starting families of their own! Not to mention that dog I can't get enough of. Yep I'll be stalkin' them for years to come. It's that good! You've been warned. ♥ http://jenisbookshelf.blogspot.com/20...
I have really loved all the books in this series and was very much looking forward to this one. The first half of the book was pretty much what I have come to expect from this series, wonderful characters, heartfelt and at times hilarious dialog. Then about halfway through the book became disjointed. It was like the author had a set goal for what had to be covered in this book and the flow suffered for it. It seemed that from chapter to chapter we jumped around from different times and conversations without a natural conclusion. It felt like there was a rush to the end where the book could have been better if it was a little more fleshed out. From what I understand this is to be the last book in the red series which is unfortunate because I really enjoyed it and we are also left with some big cliffhangers. I hope they are somewhat resolved in the new wild horse series but I will miss the inner dialog of Theresa and Red.
ARC Blind Luck begins with Bas on the East Coast for work, and Teresa fixing to leave for Reno to see if she and Red can help out on a case that the FBI and local cops are working on. This case is pretty crazy, and all of the officers and agents don't seem to agree on Team Red, but they have to take a chance to get results. Meanwhile, Teresa is busy dealing with her issues, and being away from Bas. But she stands up really well through out the whole book.
This one was a great addition to the Team Red series. I adored it! I loved all of the Bas and Teresa parts. And of course Red and Teresa as well. I loved the whole plot line, especially getting to see more of Teresa and Red work together. And I totally adored the end, even though it was kind of a cliffhanger ended just not a bad one. I really enjoyed this one, and am super excited to read the next one!
I freaking loved this book!! I am so in love with Bas! I even have a girl crush on Teresa. The relationship and love between the two of them is so very sweet to read about. David even redeemed himself in this book. I adore how he grew a set and manned up to the mistakes he made in his life. Frost, and the rest of the Mustangs were the icing on the cake. Their reverence for Teresa and respect they showed her was awesome. If we could all find a group of friends like that, the world would be a much better place.
Thank you T. Hammond for giving us a series of books that have everything that we as readers could ask for in a book. You gave us hot guys, a kickass heroine and a dog that even the most anti-pet person would want to own.
Seems like I waited forever for this book. But it was so worth the wait. T. Hammond has wrapped up the Team Red series in a spectacular way with Blind Luck. Once again Ms Hammond delivered a great story with lovable characters, humor and steam. I loved this series and I'm sad to see it end, but I look forward to Ms Hammond's next book. The last two lines of the book (no, don't peek) made me laugh harder than the whole series. Blind Luck is a fantastic end to the Team Red series! This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I loved how Hammond ended the series. Teresa is pregnant but not sure if it's Bas', David's wife is dying and Janey is pregnant too. While Bas is away, teresa has a job in Tahoe for the FBI and is still trying to overcome her PTSD. All of our questions get answered, David widens up and everyone gets their HEA! Well done!
I wish I could give this 10 stars. You laugh out loud, you love out loud, you sigh out loud, you say "Damn I want that man" out loud. It is amazing, action packed, very loving. And it has Red, an amazing German Shepherd you will ever meet. You won't be able to put the book down. A Definite Must Read!!!!
I don't know how she does it, but T. Hammond can weave a story! Laugh out loud times, crying times, you name it, she can do it. Read all of the series and you'll find that you will miss the friends you made within these pages when you finish.
I was very pleased with this book. It did leave with a slight cliffhanger and I would love to see more in this series. Overall I would highly recommend this book to everyone.
Wow what can I say I really enjoyed this book , then again I've enjoyed all t ham minds book , the surprise at the end was like just the best here is hoping for more books with the rest of the team finding love as well
As always another wonderful book. LOVE this series. Contour looking for good laughs a bit of tears some adventure and some good looking hunks oh and a beautiful love story this series is for you.
I loved this series. They are quick and absorbing reads. Hammond has wonderful gift to bring characters alive. I just wish this wasn't the end. I hope she continues with further adventures of Team Red and the Wild Horse crew.
I have loved this series and love the latest book. I have heard this is the last in the series but really hope it isn't. The ending seems to be left open for more to the storyline.
I love this series. A little out there in the crimes, but enjoyable. I am not as much a fan of coffee, but she sure has a great way to vocalize her enjoyment.
