Wolfe gives me an ultimatum—I tell my father or he will.

We only have one chance at this, so I know it has to be done the right way. Once my father knows that Wolfe has been sneaking around with me behind his back this long, he’s going to want to put Wolfe in the ground. The way we handle it is literally a matter of life and death.

But with all the funerals my father has to attend as well as rebuilding our property after Lombardi’s hit, we need to wait a little longer. This makes Wolfe go apeshit, especially after a family friend makes a pass at me right in front of him. I can only placate him so long, and once he’s officially initiated into the family, Wolfe knows we’re out of time.
But then a new enemy, Warren, puts a target on our backs. He provokes my father at a wedding, and when he makes the mistake of commenting about me, Wolfe loses his mind and starts another war.

Wolfe is so obvious about his feelings toward me, that it’s a miracle my father hasn’t noticed. The trust that Wolfe has earned among the syndicate is so strong that no one suspects his treason.

But when the war comes to a head, secrets are revealed and everything is destroyed. The business, my family, everything…up in smokes

The only person I have left is Wolfe.

My ride or my die. The person I trust most. The love of my life.

He would do anything for me—and I him.

I think I just found my new favorite mafia romance series… I lOVE Wolfe.... 🤭🖤

“My woman. My property. Nobody—and I mean fucking nobody—trespasses on my property…”

Yeah… that quote alone should tell you everything you need to know about Wolfe. 😮‍💨
“I killed every last one of those motherfuckers—not for him, but for you. I’ve earned you, and I want to claim what’s mine.”

Wolfe and Francesca’s relationship is completely forbidden, and that’s exactly what makes every stolen glance, sneaking behind everyone’s backs, the tension? This was absolutely unmatched, everything you want in a forbidden romance!!!!

…you NEED to pick this series up.

“I’m tired of sneaking around. I’m tired of lying. That’s not who I am, Francesca. I look someone in the face and show them exactly who I am, even if it makes them hate me…”

Wolfe is absolutely unhinged when it comes to Frankie. The “touch her and die” energy is off the charts, and you can feel the intensity pouring off every page. One minute I was giggling and kicking my feet, the next I was sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what was about to happen.

The hidden glances. The sneaking around. The forbidden chemistry. And even after their relationship is out in the open… the drama doesn’t stop. Between the action, betrayals, family politics, and constant twists, I was hooked from Book 1 and couldn’t put it down.

And can we talk about Frankie? She is such a strong, resilient FMC. She refuses to be pushed around, stands her ground, and holds her own in a world full of dangerous men and I absolutely loved her. And the best part? The Penelope Sky didn’t make her weak just to show how much of a monster Wolfe is. Nope. Frankie can absolutely hold her own. Wolfe isn’t constantly swooping in to save a helpless FMC; instead, he pushes her to be stronger, motivates her, encourages her, and genuinely supports her. He knows exactly how capable she is and never tries to take that away from her. No damsel in distress here and honestly, I loved that.

The ending left me staring at the wall because THAT CLIFFHANGER?! 😭 Thankfully I already have the ARC for Book 3, and I am immediately diving into it because we all need more WOLFE in our lives!

If all goes good in book 3 this series will officially earn a spot among my favorite mafia romances!!!!!

~Pre-read~ I loved the first book, received an ARC for 3rd book... so here we are! hehe I love love love forbidden romance!

Rating~ 4.5 rounded up

This forbidden mafia romance was everything!

Francesca is the daughter of the leader of their mafia organization. She starts dating Wolfe, who works for her dad but isn’t even on her dad’s radar as someone worthy of his daughter.

Omg, Wolfe is hot! When another man hits on Francesca at an event, Wolfe technically can’t do anything about it because they’re in public, but the possessiveness, the growling… omg, that man was ready to claim his woman! I loved how devoted and loyal Wolfe was. There were so many opportunities for him to be disloyal to the organization, but that’s just not who he is. He just wanted his woman to claim him publicly so they could stop playing games.

Francesca wasn’t in an easy position. I totally get why she was always waiting for the right time to talk to her dad. I don’t know why her dad never looked at Wolfe as an option for his daughter! Seriously, he was always by that man’s side and loyal to a fault.

When the truth finally came out, I was literally dying. The entire last quarter of this book was absolutely wild. Your jaw is on the floor, and you’re sitting there thinking “No… this can’t be happening!” It ends on a cliffhanger, and stop it right now! I seriously need the next book!

This book was dual narrated by Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo. They knocked it out the park. The inflections, the moments on intense emotion, especially from Michael Ferraiuolo were so good! His vocalizing Wolfes possessiveness and intensity was top tier! Their narration of the whole audiobook was so believable and enjoyable!

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an ALC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion!

For fans of:
Mafia romance
Forbidden romance
Touch her and die
Obsessed MMC
Morally gray characters
Protective hero
Who did this to you?

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC of this title.

I loved the first book, but somehow this one was even better.

I devoured this audiobook in less than six hours because I physically could not stop listening. The narrators were the PERFECT choices for Frankie and Wolfe, and they made every scene feel even more intense.

Wolfe continues to be one of my favorite mafia MMCs. The man is absolutely unhinged when it comes to Frankie, but underneath all that violence is someone who would do literally anything for her. He’s protective, completely devoted, and I ate up every single scene they shared.

I also loved that this book expanded the mafia world and raised the stakes. Between the family drama, betrayals, and the brewing war, I was completely hooked from beginning to end.

Penelope Sky has officially converted me into a mafia romance reader because this series has me in a chokehold. I’m literally jumping straight into book three.

Wolfe and Frankie have my whole heart, and watching their romance feel so raw, beautifully real, and full of genuine growth kept me completely glued to the pages. The suspense builds up so perfectly, and every single plot twist just hit right as the story unfolded. I am completely desperate for the next book!

The audio is performed in dual by Ramona Master & Michael Ferraiuolo - I binged this one in a day! After the ending of book 1, I knew I needed to jump right into this audio! And now I will be impatiently waiting for the next book in this series! I still love the chemistry between Wolfe and Francesca...and while I definitely anticipated some of the conflict, I still ate this up.

Babes... If you haven't read By Blade, I Love then stop right here because this is absolutely a series you need to read in order. And trust me... you'll want book three waiting for you because this ending? I'm still recovering......

Wolfe and Francesca's relationship is forbidden but that's exactly what makes every stolen glance, every secret meeting, and every impossible decision hit so much harder babe.

And WOLFE...Babes... this man is feral. Protective doesn't even begin to cover it. Exactly the kind of man I love reading about. 😂

🎙️ Narration: Ramona Master & Michael Ferraiuolo
Can we please give these two a standing ovation?
Their performances elevate an already addictive story into something that feels cinematic. Michael absolutely is Wolfe. That calm, lethal, protective edge in his voice.....Perfection. Chef kiss.
And Ramona captured every ounce of Francesca's fear, determination, and vulnerability beautifully. The chemistry between them felt so natural that I completely forgot I was listening to an audiobook.

Dreamscape Media absolutely nailed this production.

Oh my goodness! Lots of action and plot twists in this next installment. I am loving this series so much! I am hooked on Wolfe and Francesca! This book jumps right into the action from the start as book one left us in a cliffhanger. I am so excited that I just got approved for book three because I'd be dying for the next one. The stakes just keep getting higher, the action even more brutal and the spice even hotter! I don't want to summarize because you have to read book one in order to read book two. If you love mafia romance with a tough heroine and an even tougher hero then this is the book for you. There wasn't one moment that I wasn't completely engaged in this story, and I was on vacation when I listened to it! LOL The narrators knocked book two out of the park. I love Wolfe's voice. The narrator's voices are exactly what I imagined the characters to sound like. I received this book from Dreamscape Media and NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

This was an entertaining mafia romance with plenty of violence, spice, and a decent amount of humor to help balance the darker moments. The chemistry between the main characters was solid with a bit of playfulness at times.

I was annoyed with the constant back-and-forth about telling the FMC’s father about their relationship. It dragged on far longer than it needed to and became frustrating taking away from the initial tension build up. I also figured out the source of the betrayal pretty early, so the reveal didn’t have the impact it was clearly meant to.

Overall, it was still an enjoyable read with action and romance. Although the pacing and predictability kept it from being a higher-rated book for me, I am still interested in reading the next book.

The audio was preformed well by Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo.

This is book 2 in the By Blade series and it picked up right where book 1 left off. Wolfe would burn the world for her and I love that energy from a MMC. A lot of action is packed into this book and it was getting really good! Ended on a cliffhanger and I might cry about it because I need to know what happens next. I did guess correctly on a few things, but I’m mad I was right. Lies, betrayal, love, fighting, spice. Can’t wait to continue with their story.

I think Penelope Sky has officially become my favorite mafia romance author. Every time I pick up one of her books, I know I’m in for a good time, and this one was no exception.

I loved the nonstop tension, the action, and the chemistry between Wolfe and Scarlett. The stakes just kept getting higher, and I flew through this book because I had to know what happened next.

And that ending?! Now I need the next book immediately. If you love dark, addictive mafia romance, this series is absolutely worth picking up. The audio was so good I highly recommend consuming it that way, it’s so worth it!

By Blade, I Vow was another addictive installment that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The tension never lets up, and the stakes are higher than ever as Wolfe and the heroine fight to protect their love while navigating betrayal, family loyalty, and an all-out mafia war.

I really enjoyed the audiobook. The dual narration brought the story to life, and both narrators did a great job capturing the emotion, intensity, and chemistry between the characters. It made all of the suspenseful and emotional moments even more engaging.

Wolfe is fiercely protective, completely devoted, and willing to risk everything for the woman he loves. Their relationship is full of passion, loyalty, and impossible choices, and I found myself rooting for them through every twist. The ending left everything in chaos, setting up what’s next in a way that has me eager to continue the series.

While this wasn’t my favorite book in the series, it was still an entertaining read with plenty of action, romance, and drama. If you’re a fan of steamy mafia romance with forbidden love, family conflict, and high stakes suspense, this one is definitely worth picking up.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars

By Blade, I Vow by Penelope Sky is the second book in the By Blade trilogy and continues Francesca and Wolfe’s story right where the first book left us.

After Francesca is attacked and manages to defend herself against the men who come after her, it becomes clear that there is a traitor inside her father’s organization. Now everyone is trying to figure out who the mole is, while Wolfe is becoming increasingly frustrated because he wants their relationship to be public. He doesn’t want to hide Francesca. He wants everyone to know that she is his woman.

Francesca, however, wants to take things more slowly. She knows her father won’t accept Wolfe easily, especially because Wolfe came from another mafia family and had to work hard to earn their trust. But when her father eventually discovers their relationship, everything explodes.

He gives Francesca an ultimatum: Wolfe or her family.

And Francesca chooses Wolfe.

One of my favorite things about this book is Wolfe and the way he constantly reminds Francesca of how powerful and capable she is. He never tries to dim her light or make her feel like she needs to be saved. Instead, he pushes her to recognize the woman she already is. Francesca is a badass on her own, and Wolfe knows it. He doesn’t need to be the hero of her story he simply stands beside her and reminds her how much she can accomplish.

Eventually, Francesca returns to her family’s business after her father realizes that she is the one who truly knows how to run it. And this creates even more tension, especially with her brother Leo, who has always struggled with feeling like their father will never choose him over Francesca.

Then comes the biggest twist of the book: Leo is the traitor.

I had my suspicions, but I still wasn’t prepared for the consequences. Leo had been working with one of his father’s enemies, and his actions ultimately spiral completely out of control. His betrayal leads to the death of Francesca’s father and puts Francesca in even more danger.

And once again, Francesca proves exactly who she is.

Even when she is kidnapped, she doesn’t sit around waiting for Wolfe to save her. She fights back. She kills the men who are trying to take her, and by the time Wolfe arrives, she has already saved herself.

I LOVE this woman.

But what broke my heart was seeing what everything cost her. She lost her father. She discovered that her own brother betrayed her family. And the person she had spent years defending and protecting was ultimately responsible for destroying everything.

And then there is Wolfe.

Their relationship is everything I want in a mafia romance. They are a true power couple. Wolfe is possessive, protective, and completely obsessed with Francesca, but he never takes away from her strength. Instead, he helps her become even more powerful.

Francesca is a badass woman, and Wolfe never makes her smaller just because he is the man beside her. They are a dynamic duo.

This book was filled with betrayal, family drama, mafia politics, action, revenge, and a romance that continues to get stronger. And after that ending, I NEED the third book because I have a feeling Francesca is going to want revenge and honestly, I am here for it.

Penelope Sky did it again.

5 stars, without a doubt.

🎙️ Narration — Ramona Master & Michael Ferraiuolo (Dreamscape Media)
Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo continue to deliver a performance that feels like a full cast, even though it’s just the two of them. Every character has a distinct voice, a unique emotional tone, and a presence that feels fully realized.

The fear, the danger, the devastation...especially when Francesca is in a life‑or‑death moment , all of it comes through in the narration. Wolfe’s calm, lethal intensity shifts the entire atmosphere the second he speaks. The Don’s heartbreak, pride, and conflict come through so clearly it hits you in the chest.

Dreamscape Media’s production is clean, immersive, and cinematic.

And finishing this on Father’s Day? That added a whole extra layer. This book is so deeply tied to the Don’s love for his children, the impossible choices he has to make, and the pain of watching your kids grow into adults who make their own decisions even when those decisions terrify you.

As a parent, as a daughter, as someone who understands that moment when love and autonomy collide… yep, I felt that. It was written with so much emotional accuracy!!!

🔥 A Smidge of Plot
We pick up right where book one ended, still following Wolfe and Francesca as they try to find common ground. Wolfe wants to tell the Don they’re together he’s all in but Frankie knows the timing is terrible. Her brother is spiraling, the Don is questioning Wolfe’s loyalty, and the entire family is trying to figure out whether he’s an ally or an enemy. The tension never lets up.

💭 My Thoughts
This book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The family drama, the shifting loyalties, the emotional fallout ... it’s all devastating and addictive.

And the Father’s Day timing? It made the Don’s storyline hit even harder for me on today. His love for his kids, his fear for them, his struggle to let them make their own choices… it was so appropriately written that I felt it in my chest. If you know, you know that one decision he has to make? Yeah. I’m still recovering.

Penelope Sky writes cliffhangers like she’s trying to ruin your day, and I am absolutely locked in for the next book.

Did I see the twists coming? Yes.
Did that stop me from being shook anyway?
Not at all.

A solid four stars — and if you’re looking to be devastated just a little bit, keep following this series.

✨ALC Review✨ - 2 ⭐️

While I am curious to see what happens next, I have many issues with this story.

My biggest problem is the romance. I’m expected to believe this man is the love of her life, the one who’s ruined all other men for her, but I just don’t see it. He repeatedly treats her like she belongs to him, openly referring to her as his property, saying that he’s earned her, and instead of reading as protective or romantic, it comes across as controlling and objectifying.

That issue extends to the intimacy as well. It constantly feels like his pleasure is prioritized while hers is treated as an afterthought. At one point, she wakes up screaming from a nightmare, crying out for him, and instead of comforting her or making sure she’s okay, he starts having sex with her and calls her a “tough bitch”. That moment completely took me out of the story. There never seems to be any care or buildup before they’re suddenly having sex, and I found myself wondering if this man had ever even heard of foreplay. It made so many of those scenes feel uncomfortable instead of romantic. I miss the book boyfriends who actually care about making their partner feel safe, comforted, and desired, not just available.

Additionally, a lot of the dialogue and narration gave me the biggest icks. Lines like “I was the woman he put a load in every night,” and “sank into the soft petals of her flower” had me cringing instead of swooning. Even smaller moments, like a stereotypically macho mafia guy casually asking, “You want the tea?” completely pulled me out of the story because it felt so out of character.

The FMC’s internal monologue didn’t help either. Reading things like, “I wasn’t sure what I’d done to earn a perfect man when I was so flawed and imperfect,” while he’s displaying all of these behaviors just made me want to scream, girl, STAND UP!!

I think what frustrates me the most is that this is a romance novel, a genre read primarily by women, yet it continues to romanticize a relationship where the man’s wants consistently take priority over the woman’s. Fiction doesn’t have to model perfect relationships, but I do think it’s disappointing when emotional intimacy and mutual pleasure are treated as secondary to possessiveness and male gratification. We already see enough of that in the real world; I don’t particularly want to read it in my escapist romance.

And yet… somehow I’m still invested in the plot. As much as I despise these characters and don’t buy into their romance, I still want to know what happens next. It’s a very frustrating reading experience because the story itself has me hooked, even if the relationship absolutely does not.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for letting me listen to this one early.

Welp......this was my surprise read of the week.

I started this Audio ARC/ALC without knowing anything about the series. I also realized that this was the second book in the series and I had not read the first book. Uh oh. I can say though, that I did not ever feel like I was lost, or confused by the story, and that most events from the past were given sufficient back story.

The story revolves around MMC Wolfe and FMC Francesca who have begun a relationship that they are keeping secret. Wolfe is the enforcer and right hand man of the Don of a mafia family and Francesca is the daughter of the Don. They have their reasons for not telling him immediately, though it did feel like they went back and forth WAY too long and when he finally learns the truth, things do not turn out well.

The story itself is the actual surprise. I really enjoyed the characters of both Wolfe and Francesca. Wolfe is a complete alpha male who is also a bit crazy, but somehow it just works. It becomes clear that he has FEELINGS for Francesca and he is not afraid of showing that. I LOVED that. He is also a possessive son of a gun and I was there for that too.

Francesca is a strong female character who is intelligent, compassionate and also pretty handy with a firearm. I really liked the fact that neither of them was playing games. The were both upfront with each other regarding their feelings towards and when push came to shove, they had each other's back.

There is a traitor in the family, and I felt that this was the major flaw in the story arc. It was not hard to guess who it was and at times, I felt like there was a flashing arrow over this character's head that said "bad guy" - that's how obvious it was.

About the audio production. The story was narrated by Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo. I am already a fan of Mr. Ferraiuolo and he did not disappoint. While Ms. Master's voice sounded familiar, I'm not exactly sure where I have heard her before, I just know that I have. She also did a fine job.

One thing.....I am glad that we have two narrators for this, but instead of the Dual Narration, I would have enjoyed this more if it had been done in Duet Narration. There were times when I was pulled out of the story when one of the narrators was narrating for the opposite POV. It was frustrating since it was not really necessary since there were 2 narrators.

I enjoyed this book so much that I immediately went to request the third book in the series to see how things end up. There was a DOOZY of a cliffhanger in this one.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the opportunity to listen to and review this Audio ARC/ALC. This book will be out for publication on July 14, 2026.

Wow! What can I say! A page turner indeed!! All’s fair in love and war, right? But what happens when the line between the two becomes blurred? I am trying to wrap my mind around what happened in this book. I was not expecting that cliffhanger! I was thinking this story was going to go one way when BAM—out of nowhere it turns! BY BLADE, I VOW is the second book of the trilogy. This story starts where the first book left off. This is a dark and gripping suspenseful story. It just Blew...My...Mind and left me flabbergasted, but it has an unexpected surprise that is so jaw-dropping good! Buckle up for this emotional rollercoaster! It’s literally IMPOSSIBLE to put this book down. It was amazing and my blood was pumping like crazy reading this story—I was captivated from start to finish. This is the continuation of Wolfe and Francesca (Frankie) Mancini’s story.

I was entertained by the dynamics between Wolfe and Francesca, and I was curious how it would play out when the two of them kept seeing each other without her family knowing. Wolfe is the monster you don’t want to get on his wrong side because he is a man of no morals. He can be the man of your dreams and nightmares all at once if he is crossed. I loved how Wolfe showed Francesca that she was the only woman for him, and he does not lie nor mince words. But make no mistake, Wolfe would go to war for Francesca and discard all the rules—he will do whatever it takes to keep Francesca safe—even if he has to take out her family! Francesca is torn with the thought of what her father would say and how he would react telling him that she and Wolfe are lovers. Yes, she knows how he would react—literally blow Wolfe’s brains out! Because her father does not like Wolfe and barely trusts him, and because of several disturbances, some think that Wolfe is the inside traitor/rat. Is Wolfe the traitor/rat or is it someone else? Francesca and Wolfe’s journey is full of deception, hurt, trust, secrets, betrayal, and lies. Wolfe is hiding the secret of why he left Cosa Nostra. What is the secret? Both Francesca and Wolfe will fascinate you and frustrate you at the same time. After an incident occurs, Francesca is in an impossible situation where she has to show her strength or withered away or acquiesced. There are several twists and turns within the story that will tempt the characters in ways they never envisioned. What happens next? Well, read this amazing story—you won’t regret it! Penelope Sky took me through several emotional gamuts and pushed all my buttons. I feel like I got off a crazy roller coaster ride from hell! I can’t wait to read the last book.

If you thought book one was just laying the groundwork...you were right. This series really comes alive here. This second installment picks up immediately after the ending of book one, and the stakes only get higher from there. Between the mafia politics, shifting loyalties, betrayals, nonstop action, and family drama, I flew through this audiobook.

At the heart of it all are Wolfe and Francesca, and they continue to be my favorite part of this series. I love a die hard/high stakes couples, and these two never stop choosing each other. No unnecessary breakups, no frustrating miscommunication, just unwavering loyalty in the middle of absolute chaos. Wolfe would burn the world down for Frankie, and I will never get tired of that kind of hero. He's ruthless, fiercely protective, and completely devoted, while still respecting Frankie's strength every step of the way.

And Frankie is exactly the kind of mafia heroine I love. Smart, capable, and absolutely a badass. She may have frustrated me a few times by waiting so long to tell her father about Wolfe, but watching her grow into her own power had me cheering for her. After that ending, I am MORE than ready for her villain era.

The suspense kept me hooked from beginning to end. I did figure out who the rat was fairly early, but honestly, that didn't lessen my enjoyment at all. If anything, it was fun watching all the pieces fall into place. And just when I thought I had everything figured out, the book still managed to surprise me with another twist I genuinely didn't see coming. Penelope Sky knows how to balance romance, danger, and emotional tension in a way that keeps you turning pages. And then she ends it with that cliffhanger. I need book three immediately.

The audiobook was again solid, both narrators growing on me now that I've settled in. Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo give every character a distinct voice and bring so much emotion to every scene, whether it's the quieter moments between Wolfe and Frankie or the high stakes action. I cannot wait to see where this series goes next because after that ending, I need answers ASAP.

This is the second book in the Tanto Syndicate series. Wolfe and Francesca are in a full on relationship. Wolfe can’t be happier that she committed to him. He has a great job, a great woman, and the trust of a great family. However, he is feeling so guilty because he respects Don Mancini. He deserves the truth but Francesca keeps pleading with him to wait just a while longer. They have had tragic moments happen and the Don has been dealing with all that. He knows it may not be the right time but he wants to stop lying. Wolfe also wants to make Francesca happy so he waits until they can tell them together. If she does not hurry up, he will tell him. When a new enemy appears, Wolfe shows how much he is willing to go for Francesca. They also haven’t found the trainer among them. So many things are closing in. What will happen when Don Mancini finds out?

Francesca is finally happy with her job, family and Wolfe. She does not want to tell her father the truth because she is scared he will feel betrayed. Unfortunately her dad mentions something about her future and she realizes they are out of time. He needs to know now. Before they can approach him, a new enemy makes himself known and now they have to fight for their territory. During the fight, shocking truths are revealed that sheaves her to her core. She will ever be the same again. The only one she can depend on is Wolfe and she knows she is willing to do anything to stay with him. It is them against the world. Will they survive.

Penelope Sky had me emotionally wrecked with this one for so many reasons. I felt Wolfe’s guilt. He wanted to tell Frankie’s father many times but he also wanted Frankie to be OK.He also felt terrible for everything that happened but didn’t even have a time to process. I felt bad for Francesca as well because she is scared once her father knows they have been sneaking around, it’s over. She will lose his respect and he might fire or kill Wolfe. When truths are revealed I wanted to hug them both. I’m rooting for these two to have their happily ever after. This was a definitely a very emotional rollercoaster. It was filled with drama, heat, action, danger, suspense, and heartbreaking twists. I cannot wait to see how it all ends.

Wolfe and Francesca's story takes an emotional turn in By Blade, I Vow, and I found myself completely invested in everything they were facing. After everything they've been through, they're finally at the crossroads they've both been dreading. Francesca is terrified to tell her father about their relationship, knowing it could cost Wolfe his life, while Wolfe struggles more and more with keeping their love a secret. He believes the longer they wait, the worse the fallout will be, and that tension hangs over every page.

I really loved that no matter how frustrated Wolfe becomes, his love for Francesca never wavers. He wants to do things the right way, even if that means risking everything. At the same time, Francesca's fear is understandable. She's caught between the man she loves and the father she's devoted to, and neither choice comes without heartbreaking consequences. Their internal struggles made the story feel just as compelling as all the external danger surrounding them.

As the story unfolds, everything eventually comes to a head. Truths are revealed, loyalties are tested, and people get hurt. Between new enemies threatening the family, mounting tensions within the syndicate, and secrets that can no longer stay buried, the stakes continue to rise until there's no turning back.

What stood out to me most was Wolfe's unwavering loyalty. No matter what happened, his love and devotion to both Francesca and her father never faltered. He proves time and again that he isn't just fighting for the woman he loves—he's fighting for her entire family, even when it puts him directly in the line of fire. That kind of loyalty made him impossible not to root for.

Without giving away any spoilers, I have to say this book ends in the most unexpected way. I genuinely did not see it coming. Just when I thought I knew where Penelope Sky was taking the story, she completely pulled the rug out from under me. It was the perfect ending to keep me desperate to find out what happens next.

By Blade, I Vow is packed with forbidden love, family loyalty, high-stakes danger, and emotional twists that keep the pages turning. Wolfe and Francesca continue to prove why they're such an incredible couple, and I can't wait to see where their journey goes from here.

Penelope Sky really knows how to write a man who would burn the world down for the woman he loves. 🖤

I didn’t think I could love Wolfe more after the first book, but somehow I was wrong.

This book had me stressed from the very first chapter. Frankie’s nightmares reminded me that the danger was far from over, and the constant tension had me waiting for everything to explode. The moment Wolfe’s old Don wanted to meet with him, I knew there was no way things were going to stay peaceful.

One thing I absolutely loved was that Wolfe never wavered. It didn’t matter if Frankie’s father hated him, kicked him out, or wanted nothing to do with him—his only priority was Frankie. Every decision he made proved just how devoted he was.

Can we also talk about the romance? Because I was MELTING.

The banter between these two is everything. Wolfe carrying Frankie all the way home because her feet hurt, laying her on the bed, and taking off her shoes? Sir… excuse me while I raise my standards for fictional men even higher. Men written by Penelope are the definition of hopeless romantics wrapped in dark romance, and I eat it up every single time.

I also loved getting to see more of Palermo. It gave the story such a beautiful backdrop in between all the chaos, and seeing Wolfe and Frankie finally say “I love you” made my heart so happy.

Of course, Penelope couldn’t let us have peace for long.

The last quarter of this book was absolute insanity. Betrayals, attacks, secrets coming to light, heartbreaking losses… I was flying through the pages because I had to know what happened next. Frankie once again proved she’s a badass, refusing to go down without a fight, and Wolfe would have torn apart the entire world to get back to her.

And that ending…

“Because Cosa Nostra will protect us.”

ARE. YOU. KIDDING. ME?!

That final line gave me chills and immediately had me reaching for Book 3. I need to know what happens next.

Another incredible installment full of mafia politics, action, devotion, romance, and a couple I would fight for. Penelope Sky has officially convinced me that Wolfe belongs in my top book boyfriend rankings.

I immediately needed book three after that ending.

You know when you finish the first book in a series and think, "Okay... I can tell the author is setting up something BIG"?

Yeah.

This was the payoff.

And I ate it up.

While book one laid the foundation, this installment cranks up the tension, raises the stakes, and had me fully invested from beginning to end.

But let's be honest...

The real reason I keep showing up is Wolfe and Frankie.

No matter how much family drama, danger, manipulation, or threats come their way, their loyalty to each other never wavers.

In a genre where miscommunication and unnecessary breakups are everywhere, there was something incredibly satisfying about watching two people choose each other over and over again.

What I Loved:
Ride-or-die romance
Family politics and power struggles
High stakes tension
Mafia drama
Secrets, betrayals, and a rat to uncover
Fantastic audiobook narration
Villain era energy

Now let's talk about the rat.

I figured it out early.

And the level of satisfaction I felt when I was right was unmatched.

Sometimes guessing correctly isn't disappointing.

Sometimes it's proof the clues were there all along, and watching everything click into place is incredibly rewarding.

But don't get too comfortable...

Because just when I thought I had everything figured out, this book hit me with a twist I genuinely didn't see coming.

And THAT ending?!

Let's just say I am fully seated for Frankie's villain era.

After everything she's endured, I am more than ready to watch her stop playing nice.

And can we give some love to the audiobook narrators?

Because they absolutely brought these characters to life and made an already addictive story even harder to put down.

Now excuse me while I impatiently wait for book three because I need answers immediately.

Thanks to Dreamscape Media for gifted ALC through NetGalley.

Confession: I'm a sucker for a ride-or-die couple. And these two? Absolutely refuse to fold.

By Blade, I Vow raises the stakes in every possible way. Picking up immediately after the explosive ending of book one, this sequel throws you right back into the chaos with nonstop action, deadly mafia politics, shifting loyalties, shocking betrayals, family drama, scorching chemistry, and just enough humor to keep the darker moments from becoming overwhelming.

Wolfe continues to cement his place as one of my all time favorite mafia heroes. He's completely unhinged when it comes to Frankie, terrifying to everyone else, but fiercely protective and endlessly devoted to the woman he loves. Beneath all the violence is a man who would burn the world down for her, and I devoured every scene they shared.

Frankie is exactly the kind of mafia heroine I love smart, capable, and an absolute badass. While I did get frustrated with how long she waited to tell her father about her relationship with Wolfe, watching her step into her own power was incredibly satisfying. And after that ending? I am more than ready for her full villain era.

The only thing that held this back from being a five star read was the repetitive back and forth over revealing their relationship. It dragged on longer than necessary and took away from some of the story's early tension. I also figured out who the rat was fairly early, so that reveal didn't land quite the way it was intended. That said, it didn't lessen my enjoyment. It was actually fun watching all the pieces fall into place, and just when I thought I had everything figured out, Penelope Sky still managed to hit me with a twist I genuinely didn't see coming.

And that cliffhanger?! Absolutely brutal. I need book three immediately.

If you love mafia romance with ruthless heroes, strong heroines, sizzling chemistry, brutal violence, high-stakes drama, and twists that keep you turning the pages, this series is one you don't want to miss.

The By Blade trilogy, by unapologetically fiery author Penelope Sky, is a steamy dark Mafia romance that leaves you breathless after an adrenaline fueled fight for your life romance. The first two audiobooks end in cliffhangers but the good news is the third is out tomorrow.

All are voiced by Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo. She brings out Frankie's lady mob boss don't mess with my man attitude while pained by brutal betrayals. He leads with the bravado of an obsessive, scorched Earth, morally black over protective lover.

By Blade, I Protect (Book 1)
"You are my present and my future and I fight for you now."

When Wolfe leaves the Costa Nostra after their entry into human trafficking he finds his way to the Sicilian Mafia where he breaks the Don's first rule. Don't even look at my daughter. But the second they meet, Wolfe and Frankie are combustible chemistry. He's ready to tell the world but she needs time with her father. Then enemies try to take their territory and they're left with few choices.

By Blade, I Vow (Book 2)
"...I would rather take the most dangerous road with him than the smoothest with anyone else."

As Frankie And Wolfe fight for their love they suffer great loss And even greater betrayal. But what might divide others brings them closer together as the world they know burns down.

By Blade, I Love (Book 3)
"He loved me at my worst. He loved me at my best."
"I will protect you. I will fight for you. I will die for you."

As Frankie rebuilds her family's Mafia legacy, Wolfe stands guard beside her as an enemy makes one last attempt to destroy them. But Wolfe will burn them all for their love.

By Blade is a Mafia romance trilogy that cuts through the heart of an all consuming love that will consume you.

This series is binge‑worthy. If book 3 were available, I’d already be devouring the conclusion.

Book 2 follows Frankie and Wolfe as they deal with the fallout from the attack in book 1 and struggle to find the right moment to tell the Don about their relationship.

Frankie is set to take over the family mob business, and she’s a powerhouse. She runs things behind the scenes so seamlessly that others barely notice. Fierce and capable, she stands her ground when it matters most. Like Wolfe makes her say, she’s a badass bitch.

She did frustrate me at times, especially when she avoided telling her father about Wolfe. It made her seem weaker than she is and created unnecessary drama, but her strength and conviction still won me over.

Wolfe completely stole my heart. He’s ruthless when he needs to be, but his loyalty and honesty set him apart. He’s the kind of man you want as an ally, not an enemy. His fear of losing Frankie adds emotional depth to his otherwise lethal edge, and I loved seeing that vulnerability beneath his power.

The pacing is fast and action-packed with high‑stakes confrontations, danger, and tension balanced by quieter moments that deepen their relationship. The story races toward a major cliffhanger filled with betrayal, death, and looming threats. I even called the real villain from the start and was practically shouting each time it came up.

The narration is excellent. Ramona Master and Michael Ferraiuolo bring these characters to life, and Wolfe now feels completely distinct from Constantine in Roman Republic.

I’m ready to see how Frankie and Wolfe take care of business in book 3.

Thank you NetGalley, Dreamscape Media, and Penelope Sky for this ALC.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for providing me with this ALC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. 🩵

After having such a great time with the first book, I was so excited to come back to these characters and this world. Especially with how things were left towards the end, and I’ve been waiting to find out what will happen in this book.

I have to talk about the audiobook because it was so good. When I listened to the first book, it took me some time to adjust to the narrators because in my head, I imagine Wolf and Frankie sounding different, but this time, I was already so accustomed to their voices that I was immediately able to settle back into the story. My only small complaint is that I wish the audiobook had been in duet narration instead of dual narration.

To start off with what I didn’t like, I didn’t like the repeated back and forth throughout the first quarter of the book surrounding Wolfe wanting to tell Frankie’s father about their relationship. I wanted them to just have the conversation already instead of continuing to delay it.

One of my favorite parts of this series continues to be Wolfe and Frankie’s relationship. I immediately loved them in the first book, but coming back and just seeing their relationship grow was just everything. I loved that they continued choosing each other. Instead of allowing everything happening around them to pull them apart.

I had a strong feeling about who the mole was, but knowing part of the twist did not prepare me for what was going to happen next. My jaw was genuinely on the floor because I was not expecting that to happen.

So after that cliffhanger, I need the next book immediately. I have so many questions. I need to read the next book ASAP because I just can’t wait to see what happens next.
