4 Love me some Rily Stars

This is the second episode of season one, and I am hooked!!! I swear this series is killing me.

Things pick up where 1.1 left off and Ariela has arrived in California. Shortly after arriving she runs into Keatyn and is invited to a dinner with the old gang - which includes Riley. Once again the world stops spinning for Riley.



This episode shows the reunion of Riley and Ariela,..loved it! Things are smoking hot and raw. Then the ending Jullian you are killing me! I am hooked and cannot freaking wait for the next installment.

The best way to describe this series: You know when you have a book/characters you loved and you think if this could just never end. Well, this series is that for me. I loved the Keatyn Chronicles and over the week I binge read 6.5 books I grew to love this group. Now I get to see one of my favorite guys: Riley, plus the others! I am in love with this!

This weeks episode of Captive Films (1.2) features Riley and Ariela. You know how I feel about Riley Johnson... I can’t get enough of my boy all grown up. Ariela played a large part in this installment. The entire thing was written in dual alternating pov’s between the two of them.

Ariela’s in the same town as Riley, but she’s not sure if she’s ready to see him yet. She’s still married, but in the process of filing for divorce. When she runs into an old friend, it happens to connect her with Riley as well. Riley is stunned to see Ariela. He still feels things for her. Things he doesn’t want to feel. Maybe they met again for a reason? As Aiden says:


“Maybe it’s sorta like fate.”

I love catching up with all these characters. I love Jillian’s writing and I love that these are more risqué than the KC books. It's great getting glimpses into random characters lives. And whats up with a certain couple being together? I did not see that coming! The way this ended was little shocking and I’m excited to see where next weeks episode takes us!

Picking up just a few days later in episode 1.2 Ariela is now on the west coast. She's ignoring calls from her soon to be ex-husband Collin and out shopping when she unexpectedly runs in to an old friend. It is only in this scene that things become very clear and a bit sad to me in regards to Ariela.

Riley is still living that good life riding high after the tri city worldwide movie premiers...unaware that he and Ariela will soon cross paths.

In episode 1. 2 readers get TWO surprises in the story from Jillian Dodd! One good, a surprising couple I never saw coming and the other one sad, which I briefly mentioned above. No details on this though, sorry, I want to keep it spoiler free. OH WAIT, also we get a few glimpses in to the past through Riley at what went down with him and Ariela senior year. Mind you I said glimpses I am sure much more is to come!

This women could make a phone book captivating. I found myself at the end of this book flipping between the last page and acknowledgments like a thousand times in hopes that magicly some more pages would appear. I am so into this it's ridiculous. Damn it man.. I will pay the jacked up price of 2.99 for 1.3 because I love Riley and Jillian. :)

In Episode # 1.2, we pick up where Episode #1.1 finished as Keatyn not only announce to their friends their engagement finally, but we have also revealed the nugget that she is having a baby. We also get the introduction to Ariela's life, and what she has been up to the past ten years, unfortunately, it isn't the HEA that she had hoped for as she is stuck in a marriage with a guy who cheats and uses her as a trophy wife. While browsing a magazine, she sees Keatyn and Riley on the cover, and it gives her the courage and strength to leave Colin behind and travel to reconnect with her old college friends and hopefully, since Riley is still single, maybe the spark is still there? What will happen though when Ariela goes home with Riley only to see Shelby there as well? Does this mean Shelby finally gets the boot? I hope so. Will Ariela be welcome back into the group or is Riley's feelings of rejection from Ariela too deeply wounded, that he won't give her a second chance?

Loved it!!! Need more! Riley and Ariella's first encounter after so long is volatile and hot!! You get to see a little more into her choices so I can understand her decisions though still don't agree with them. This is going to be a fun ride!!

Series Review - spoiler free

I am not a fan of serials, but I really enjoyed this one! I was a little skeptical at first, but it didn’t take long to hook me. It’s set up like a television series (season 1 has 6 episodes). It tells the story of many of the characters we met and fell in love with in the Keatyn Chronicles, but season 1 mainly centers around Riley. I loved him in the Keatyn Chronicles, but I really love him now that he’s of age lol.

All of the characters in the story added new depth and layers. It really kept it fun and interesting, and full of the drama we expect when we think of Keatyn & company.

I read all the episodes together, but I can imagine the anticipation was pretty exciting to those who read them as they were released.

They were fun, and what started as, “I will just read one or two episodes and go to bed” ended a couple hours later with season 1 completed.

As with tv series, Jillian has stated this serial will get new seasons based on sales. Please buy this! I NEED A SEASON 2! With that said, she doesn’t leave us with any major cliffhangers or anything… just desperately wanting to live in this world a little longer.

*For those who haven’t read the Keatyn Chronicles, there are slight spoilers in this series because you will know who ended up together (not that I ever questioned it when reading the series). I’m speaking with a biased point of view b/c I have read the Keatyn Chronicles, but I think you can enjoy these without reading the previous series. When a character was introduced we were given a little background of who they were. *

It's no secret that I am a HUGE Keatyn Chronicles fan. It's one of my very favorites. So when I heard that Jillian Dodd was releasing the Captive Films series I was over the moon!!! Then to find out this was going to be a serial of shorts similar to watching a TV show made me even more excited!! I will say that she did not disappoint and holy hell was it amazing!! I read the entire season in one sitting (thank you Jillian) and I felt like a junkie that got her long awaited fix!! I loved seeing all the characters all grown up. Ooh and they are MUCH HOTTER!! Definitely not PG-13, more R-rated!! Plus there are characters that I may not of liked in the Keatyn Chronicles that I have grown to LOVE!! This is seriously a fun, fast paced series that you do not want to miss out on. I am so excited for season 2!!

Summary of Series 1...

I was unsure about this spin-off but after having loved the Keatyn Chronicles I suppose it was inevitable that the pull of my curiosity would win out as I needed to know what happened to this lovable gang once they'd grown up. I certainly wasn't disappointed and once I'd read episode 1, series 1 I was hooked and read the rest non-stop. Not only do we get more from Keatyn, Aiden and Riley but THANK YOU VERY MUCH Dawson is back, and oh so sweet. Now I just need to have Cam make an appearance and I will be one happy bunny!

This series is like coming home from a long holiday. It welcomes you back to the comfort that you know and love. There isn't any angst, it's just a simply and enjoyable read and one that is totally recommended.

The Captive Films series is written to read like a TV show with episodes comprising a season. It picks up 10 years after the Keatyn Chronicles ended.

This review is for the first season (1.1 - 1.6).

I have to say the first three I wasn't really digging it. The first book was mostly a repeat/recap of the looking forward portion of KC. Then Riley was a complete douche.

After getting past that I was loving my old favorites from KC. This gtown up version is much more steamy than I remember from this author...maybe these aren't considered YA like the other??

Anyway bring on season 2!

These books were unlike anything I had encountered previously... they are set out like a tv series with seasons and episodes which was strange but really good.

I haven't read the Keatyn Chronicles so I wasn't sure what I was getting myself in to and hadn't met the characters before.

I love that you get POV's from each of the characters and each character has their own thing going on so your getting many stories instead of just one.

I am absolutely addicted to these books... I read them one after the other and could have cried when I realised I had read them all and needed to wait for more.

The characters I love most - Riley and Ariela... They're story is definitely my favourite

Ariela runs into Keatyn shopping and from the get go you know this episodes going to be beyond good! When Keaytn invites Ariela to dinner she happens to coincidentally forgets to tell Riley. Needless to say, it doesn’t go as Keatyn scripted, but it’s SO MUCH HOTTER!!! Riley tries to tell himself that this is nothing, but come on y’all, we totally know it’s something major. This episode is fill with fun, food, and dancing. Needless to say when Riley and Ariela heat things up someone puts them out quickly! Is it next week yet?

I love Jillian Dodd and anything she writes is awesome! I love this little mini-series she wrote! Warning: YOU MUST READ the Keatyn Chronicles before reading this mini series! These are small! Each book is about 60 pages long! I read them in about 30 minutes and love it!

I like seeing Riley and Ariella's relationship and I LOVE seeing Keatyn and Aiden all grown up! Hopefully I get a peek at Dawson in one of these mini-books!

Keatyn and her scripts. Ariela comes head to head with Riley. Well they are at a dinner with high school friends. Their reunion wasn't what Keatyn thought it would of been. We see how things were left off between Ariela and Riley. He is heartbroken. We see Dallas in this episode. Can't believe that horn dog lol. The ending is OMG what.....

This was a great continuation of the first volume of Captive Films. In this volume you find out more about Dawson and what he's been up to. I loved reading about what's happening with everyone and how their lives all cross. I can't wait to read the next volume and find out how this season ends.
