After an Electromagnetic Pulse, EMP, wipes out power, America is left dark and floundering.

Thomas Monroe, an average man with an average life, faces the daunting task of navigating a dystopian land now filled with confusion and fear.

Somehow, someway he has to get home, stock up, then get to his daughter Anna, who is at college half way across the state of Missouri. Thom has no military training and few survival skills to speak of. What he does have is a will to live, a sharp mind, a laminated map and a tire iron. Uncertain how far the devastation spreads, he sets out on familiar roads now filled with unfamiliar dangers.

Mankind is slowly awakening to a new world, one where the emergency services are halted, power is out, water pressure is low and fires rage. Can one man, alone and untrained, survive when madness falls?

**This episode is part of a post-apocalyptic serial. This is not a stand alone novel. Think of it like reading a TV show. Each episode is between 40 and 50 action-packed pages with a new episode every 3-4 weeks..**

Would not bother if not for KU

I do like the story line okay, but the issues I mentioned in my review of the first installment are still present. I would not pay for this by installments, and the only reason I am continuing is that they are in the Kindle Unlimited program.

Not bad at all

It has surprised me how smoothly and fast pace the storyline is. The main characters are real and very convincing.

Not long enough

Good story line, really am enjoying the lead of Thom nice reading about someone without military background, and years of prep. Poor guy no gun no car no thick socks. Nice that Anne kind of has her stuff together. When is there going to be lots more, they both have along way to go

It's like when you go to a new restaurant that was recommended by someone whose taste you trust, but you still aren't sure what to expect, and you come a most scrumptious appetizer. I can't wait for the entrée.

Awesome

Episode 2 gives you a lot of insight in the personality of the stories main characters. They are energizing and give the story it's own pulse in the wake of the presumed EMP attack.

Getting out of town

Thom teams up with Herbie. I like Herbie the homeless...he knows the ropes, and he is willing to share his knowledge. I still think the episodes are too short and should be combined.

The scrip is one of the more realistic ones I have read. I have enjoyed reading it and look forward to episode 3.

Good addition.

This book has been more laid back so far compared with some other books I read. I will continue reading to see what's gonna happen next.
